HomeStart honors Gov. Patrick at gala

HomeStart, an organization that aims to find stable housing situations for people in the Boston area, had its gala the other night at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. Gov. Deval Patrick was the night’s honoree. He was joined for a photo opp by his wife, Diane, HomeStart executive director Linda Wood-Boyle, and HomeStart board chair Ed Frechette. The night raised about $200,000 for the cause.

HomeStart's Prevention Program Aims to Dramatically Cut the Eviction Cases of Low-Income Tenants

On November 1st, the Early Prevention Partnership, a collaborative designed by HomeStart and Project Hope, was launched. This 8-month pilot program will focus on tenants living in government-assisted housing in Boston's most impoverished neighborhoods. Staff will offer services on-site at five buildings in Roxbury and Dorchester. HomeStart will be working with Boston Housing Authority and Project Hope with Maloney Properties.
