The Dirt Devil was originally created for pet holders, but given its test results this is a good choice for any house hold that is prone to stains.  It can be used for the floor and for upholstery. A word of caution: If you use it for upholstery do a spot test first as the machine may be too strong for the upholstery and ruin it. As far as different pet odors goes, the machine was capable of eliminating everything we threw its way.

The last machine we want to tell you about is the Hoover SteamVac Duo Spot Cleaner F5505.  With a strong brand name in its back, we looked almost extra critical at the SteamVac Duo and found that it was another machine that absolutely astounded us. The SteamVac Duo can be used for spot elimination as well as for the entire room. It has very unique tank design that allows it to be carried around very easily. This is very helpful when it comes to things like cleaning stairs for example.

As you can see there is a variety of portable steam cleaners available each with its own unique advantages. Go find the one that you like and that fits your needs.

The product we will take a look at today is the Monster 1200 Steam Cleaner. The Monster steam cleaner is a pressurized 1200 watt hand held steam cleaner. It is supposed to remove grease, dirt and grime from any surface in the house. The price is set at $70.

When you purchase the device you will not only receive the device itself but also an assortment of attachments and tools that will aid you in your cleaning efforts. This also includes the clean blast sanitizing solution which you need to unleash the Monster 1200 cleaning power. You will also receive a round brush, a bayonet tip angle nozzle, an upholstery nozzle, a window squeegee, an extension hose and a measuring cup as well as a tote bag.

The advantages of the Monster 1200 are not as significant as one might believe: The pressure is high enough to remove wrinkles from fabric, but you will not be able to this faster than with an iron. It is great at getting rid of various odors and disinfecting various surfaces.

The disadvantages of the device unfortunately overweigh the advantages, as the device takes a lot of solution and a long time to clean. After you have used the cleaner to clean, and the water runs out, there will be bubbles and cleaning solution that you will to scrub off after you have already cleaned. The pressure of the steam cleaner is not high enough to remove all stains. The weight of the Monster 1200 is just too much, especially if it is filled with water to the maximum. This will give especially women a problem, as the device needs to be carried with one hand. In addition to all this, there have been reports that people have burned their hands when trying to unscrew the cap when trying to pour in more water or solution.

All in all as you can see in this review, there are better devices out there than the Monster 1200. The device is great at disinfecting surfaces or similar jobs but you cannot really use it for cleaning purposes, as the pressure is just too weak. Many people who have thought about buying this product would be better served to check out other products as there are many others that will beat the performance of the Monster 1200 for less money.

The only disadvantage we found was that this device might be a tick too heavy for the average house wife, as this really is a device worthy of industrial work.  

The last model for this article is the LadyBug Steam Cleaner. The LadyBug has many advantages such as the feature that it can be refilled while it is hot or the commercial cleaning quality for a relatively low price. The device also comes with fingertip controls for the steam volume. The water temperature is relatively high for more sanitizing power.
