In celebration of my birthday, this month's Home with House show contains a special 2 hour long mix. Keeping with the theme of last episode, this mix mirrors the progression of moods throughout a period of the day. This episode follows the timeline of an early evening through to the end of an eventful night.

The mix starts off with some deep and soulful jazz suitable for an evening of cocktails with friends, and progresses to some more upbeat and funky house that represents a fun night out on the town. Episode 6 is called "Moonlight Bargain".

The Home with House podcast for this month follows a theme of progressive moods. This episode represents the progression of feelings you might experience when waking up in the morning. From being fully asleep in bed, to being half-awake and groggy, and finally to being wide awake and ready for an eventful day, this mix mirrors the moods of these stages.

You'll notice that episode 5 starts off deep and soulful and slowly gains momentum and energy until the end. This sort of theme is a bit different from past episodes, but I think it turned out quite well. So I hope you enjoy Home with House episode 5, this one is called "Morningtide".

March's Home with House episode is here and ready to download. This month's mix has more of a progressive house feel to it, but I'd still classify it as a genre of deep house. I've included a number of great deep peak time tracks for this mix such as Lovelee Home which is a remix of last year's Lovelee Dae track, and Kalim Shabazz's awesome Peak Bomb. There are also a couple of great deep and energetic tracks by Ross Couch, an artist I've only recently discovered who appears to have numerous strong releases. You'll be seeing more of his tracks in my upcoming mixes.

Like last month's podcast release, this one also falls on a holiday. That's right, today is St. Patrick's Day instead of the usual date of the 17th. Apparently it gets moved only when it collides with some other Roman Catholic holiday which last happened in 1940 (though the Irish State holiday is unaffected by this, so I'm not really sure of the official date of this holiday in my region but I'm going with today). This is apparently the last time it won't be on the 17th until the year 2160 (check out the link above for more info about that).

Episode 3 of the Home with House podcast is all about funk. I'm into funk style dancing and this is the type of music that I like to get down to. This mix starts off with some funk house and eventually moves towards some more soulful house near the end while always keeping a bumping bassline suitable for dancing.

You may also notice that this episode is just under 60 minutes, where the previous ones were a few dozen minutes longer. One of my goals with this podcast in the future is to perhaps get played on some internet radio stations, or possibly featured on other similar websites. Such features are usually 60 minute spots, so I figured I might as well aim for that requirement now rather than later. That way, if I do ever get such an opportunity, I'll have plenty of archived episodes that can continue to be used as show archives.

Here it is, finally, the first episode of my new Home with House podcast show. There are already a few things that I know I want to improve for the next episode, such as including a little jingle at the start to sort of brand the show, but I'm happy with the first release.

This podcast show is all about house music. It features a monthly DJ mix by me, DJ Velvety, and discussions about house music and related topics. The DJ mix will often be a deep house set, as that is my main style, but I also hope to showcase other forms of house music like progressive and electro. In this episode, I briefly discuss why I created the podcast show and introduce the DJ mix, which is entitled Haunting Echoes.
