April 12, 2011: Our spring Strategic Seminar was held in New York City, hosted by our member at Direct Brands. Our topic, Innovation: Creating Sacred Spaces, was led by subject matter expert and MIT Professor Sherry Turkle. Professor Turkle recently published a new book, Alone Together. You can watch the video of her interview with Steve Colbert. We have gotten into some patterns of communication with technology that are working to our detriment. Sometimes, we are too busy communicating to think, too busy communicating to create, too busy communicating to connect with each other in the ways that matter, particularly when we need to innovate, to come up with truly new ideas. We explored how innovation happens in our over-scheduled agendas, and the role IT leaders can play in enabling innovation. Our executive session was be led by Roger Berry, former CIO of Disney Parks. He shared his perspective on the innovation process. David Moore, Chairman, Founder and CEO of 24/7 Real Media lead the emerging business model session, sharing his thoughts on innovation in an 'always on' media company.

September 29, 2010: Our fall Strategic Seminar was held in Sonoma, CA, hosted by our member at E&J Gallo. The topic, Open Leadership: Creating A Strategy For Social Business, featured subject matter expert and well-known author Charlene Li. We explored how the new social business environment is impacting our ability to lead and how successful leaders harness the opportunities social networking, social media and social technologies offer.
