Our 2012 Teleconference Schedule has been announced (topics TBA):

-February 7, 2012
-April 12, 2012
-June 13, 2012
-September 13, 2012
-December 5, 2012

December 7, 2011: Our December teleconference, led by thought leader Dr. Nick Vitalari, was a discussion about The Device Dilemma: Managing the Consumerization of Technology. The trends are clear: mobility is here to stay and our companies must figure out how to incorporate the new normal into their IT strategy. Mobile devices are the primary and only screen for many, and customer-facing applications in particular will need to accomodate these devices. While it's easier to persuade executives to fund customer-facing applications, internal applications are becoming necessary too. Employees increasingly will be asking "why is the application not working on my tablet?". Approaches taken by participants who have begun to grasp the implications of the consumerization of technology include mobility center of excellence, mobility experiments in innovation labs, and structured planning sessions with business partners to answer the question "what will our customers expect of us in 5 years, when the physical and digital worlds are seamlessly integrated?" A summary of this discussion will be posted as soon as possible.

October 2011: Our October teleconference featured our member from Chubb, who shared his perspective on the Mobile Development @ Chubb. Leading mobile apps development is a significant change from other enterprise apps development in several ways: the number of platforms to be managed, the multi-device production scheduling, and the resource and expertise to manage the development, deployment and support. The summary is posted in our Member's library.

September 2011: Our first teleconfererence this fall was on the personal development topic of Building and Leveraging Strong Professional Networks. It was led by Mike Dulworth, author and Founder of Executive Networks. Mike shared findings from his research on professional networking, skills necessary to leverage your network, secrets to building a network, and the role of a personal board of directors. The summary is posted in our ITLF library.

June 2011: Our summer teleconference featured Vaughan Merlyn, author, researcher, consultant and deep thinker, speaking on the topic of Managing the Cloud as Part of Your IT Strategy. Vaughan shared the latest thinking about adoption of the cloud, discussing different deployment and service models and the issues and uncertainties IT leaders address as they consider this strategic sourcing decision. In addition, his forward-thinking three-part blog post about leveraging the cloud to accelerate IT renewal, Vaughan highlights how the cloud can transform the way IT capabilities are managed and deployed. The summary is posted in our ITLF library.

May 2011: Our recent teleconference, led by Fred Mapp, Former CIO of AMD and Honeywell, covered the topic of Aligning IT: Building a Sustainable IT Operating Model. Fred's latest book, Mapping Information Technology to Your Business, explains the seven key initiatives for aligning IT delivery with the business. His presentation summarized his extensive experience, and applied it to this model. Member summary is posted in our library.
