If you’ve ever visited Ehow.com before, you probably thought of it as a helpful source for how-to guides and information. But did you know that a large portion of those articles have been written by work at home people who are making money from them? Recently, Ehow launched its new “Writer’s Compensation Program,” which actually pays article writers for their informative content. From what I can see, this is a great way to start making some extra money at home. Below are the steps to get started!

1. Sign Up for an Ehow account by clicking Here.
2. Think of an interesting how-to article to write. It’s better if it is a topic that hasn’t been written about before, and is common enough that people will visit it. Remember, the more visits you’re how-to article receives, the better.
3. Write the article and submit it.
4. Ehow pays per article. According to their site, your article’s earning potential is based on, “a combination of several elements, including the amount of times it’s been viewed and its category. The more useful your articles are to the reader, the more money you could make.”
5. You get paid by Paypal!

Remember, make your articles as interesting and fun to read as possible. Below are a few extra tips that might help your articles.

• Try to appeal to a broad audience. The more people who find interest in the topic you are writing about, the more visits your article will receive.
• Write about things that you have experience in.

You might not know of them, but thousands of sites are popping up daily which throw out promises of cash to just watch or click on ads. A large portion of these sites are run out of people’s bedrooms, and often go out of business in the blink of an eye. Still, there are a few larger ones out there, which have been around for a long time (at least in pay-to-click standards.) Three of the most notable are: Bux.to , Clicksense , and Neobux.  I decided to take a look at these sites, and below is what I have found.

Basically, people can make money from these sites two different ways. One, a person can just click the ads and get paid around .01 per website viewed (quite a time waster), or two, they could sign up as a “premium member”, which is an option offered by most of these sites. Usually, these members will have to pay a fee to the site, but then will be able to earn more per click on each ad. (I know, it sounds ludicrous. Why should you have to pay money to make it?) Additionally, these sites often encourage you to refer other members, as you will make a percentage on whatever ads they click as well. According to many users of Bux.to, Clicksense and Neobux, this is the big money making area, as all of your referers are basically making you money while you sleep.

So are these sites scams or not? According to many users, the sites listed above are legitimate and do pay. There are hundreds of forums postings with pictures of checks people have received. Still, don’t hold your breath while waiting for your pay-check, as there are multiple reports of delayed or extremely late payments. Better late than never though, right? These sites are not exactly my cup of tea, as they can sometimes require lots of work or effort, but you might want to give them a try and see how you like them yourself.

Recently, a new call center has come to my attention, known as Cloud10 Corporation. From what I have heard, it is a great work at home job, and is definitely worth looking into. After checking out their job info, I have to admit that it seems like an excellent opportunity. Unlike many work at home call centers, Cloud10 Corp.’s call workers are actual employees instead of the usual independent contractor. This means that you will be paid even for the time between calls, which usually doesn’t happen with most other call center companies! According to Cloud10’s website, you are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, and once you set a schedule with them you are expected to keep it. To me, this seems like another good company for those of you who either did not get accepted into Liveops, or are thinking about working multiple companies. A while back when I was posting about blogging, I mentioned the advertising service Bidvertiser. While I have already gone into detail about some of the other ad programs that can monetize your blog, I never really made a stance on Bidvertiser. So, today I am going to give you my true and honest opinion on them. In my experience: Bidvertiser Sucks. Yes, I know that might seem a bit harsh, so let me back up my opinion. Around the time one of my blogs began to gain in popularity, I decided to look into ways of monetizing it. After a while, I came upon Bidvertiser, and it seemed to be the perfect option. Bidvertiser’s click-rate looked pretty good, the ad fit in well with my site, and best of all, there was only a $10 minimum to cash out. So, after signing up, I placed the code on my site and waited. One week later, I checked my Bidvertiser, and it said that I had gotten 0 clicks so far. That seemed a little strange, so I decided to check my website statistics. Strangely enough, it showed that my blog HAD gotten multiple clicks to Bidvertisers. I was a little suspicious, so I emailed the company. Later I got a response back saying that I should give the ad time. So, I wait another two weeks. Again, “0 clicks” shows up on Bidvertiser, while clicks show up on my website’s stats. By then I was beginning to get frustrated, so I sent another email to the company. Again, I was told to be patient. So, I decided to do a little bit of research on the company. Turns out, I’m not the only one with bad experiences. According to some of the comments on DigitalPoint and Google, Bidvertiser “sucks,” and “is the worst possible choice.” I also saw comments like: “don’t touch it with a 10 foot pole,” and “Bidvertiser is a bad monetization option.” That day, I decided to switch to Adwords. Within a week, my stats start to show clicks and I am being credited for them. So, maybe it’s just me & my blog, but in my opinion Bidvertiser is not the best option out there.

Hi Everybody! I happened to be editing my blog yesterday when I found a great new job opportunity. As you might already know, my blog is currently hosted by a blog company called “Today.” Well, Today has just recently started a new program where current Today bloggers, such as myself, can invite new members to join and become paid bloggers. I recently received a question from a reader, who says, “I received my email from the LiveOps Agent Services Team today. Fairly excited…..I’ve been reading some blogs this morning regarding the LiveOps experience, and have found something that appears to make my LiveOps offer a bit ‘unique’ compared to what I’ve been reading, hopefully someone can make sense of it: Most of the background checks have been for $35-$50, and some paperwork to mail. I’m on board with the paperwork mailing part, but…my fee was $175…background check, CREDIT check, and DRUG TEST. Haven’t read one blog mentioning anything resembling what I have…..any ideas? I’ve researched everything…it’s legit. Just curious why the difference in cost, as well as the fact that no one has mentioned a credit check or drug test to qualify….” I was curious about this too, so I did a little digging. What you need to understand is that there are different sections in which Liveops workers can be placed. Some take calls for the ads you see on tv, some take calls for insurance companies, and some even take calls for food delivery. In your case, it seems that you have been accepted into a new section, in which the companies whom you will be taking calls for specifically required all of these additional tests. The reason that it does not mention a credit or drug check to qualify on Liveop’s website is that you only need a background check to qualify for Liveops, but because you happened to be put into this section, your requirements are a little different. I haven’t really heard any worker reviews of this section yet, so I can’t say if it’s a great section to work in or not, but if it is like most of the other sections of Liveops then you probably will still do great. I recently received a question from reader pghm, who asked, “Is there any advice you can give me when applying to liveops so I can land this opportunity. Also how long do you think it takes to make 10.00 to 15.00 dollars an hour(weeks or months). How long is the process of applying to actually taking telephone calls? Any advice is greatly appreciated.” So, I’ve decided to make a post about tips for possibly increasing your chances to being accepted into Liveops, as well as answers to other questions about it.

From my experience, as well as what I have heard from others, the first tip to increasing your chances of being accepted into Liveops is to time your application. Now, during the summer, is NOT a good time to apply, as calls are usually slow at this time, and Liveops doesn’t really have a need for more workers. Instead, wait until fall, (usually around September) to send in your application. Right around this time, Liveops seems to usually to a mass hiring of many workers, so that they are well-equipped to take the huge increase of calls which occur during the holiday months. Other than this, pretty much the only other thing you can do is to try and do the best you can on the acceptance tests.

For the answer to your second question, it can take a while until you make 10-15/hour. When you start off working at Liveops, you usually do not get nearly as many calls as people who have been working for a longer period of time. The reason for this is that Liveops tries to base your call volume on your performance rating. (The better your rating, the more calls you get to take, and the more money you make.) As a newbie, the easiest way to get lots of calls to boost your rating is to work weekends as well as the “graveyard shift.” (Graveyard shift is from around 11pm-6am.) As there are less workers taking calls at these times, Liveops gives more calls to you. Also, remember to NEVER miss a commit. Whenever you miss a commit, your ratings drop, and it can take a long time to get them up again.

Lastly, the training process before you begin taking calls usually lasts about thirty days. (Before you begin training, MAKE SURE that you get one of the phones I have mentioned in previous posts ahead of time, as Liveops require it.) I know of many people who have not been able to complete training only because they weren’t able to find a phone in time. Be prepared.
