Researchers from NHGRI and the National Institute of Mental Health studied the impact on cognition of methylmalonic acidemia. The condition is caused by an inborn error of metabolism that interferes with digestion and is among those disorders targeted in newborn screening. The study was published in the early online issue of Pediatrics.
