It's true! Zoo passes are given on a first come, first served basis, and cannot be reserved. We recommend you call the library to see if a pass is available (at 708-301-7908), as we have only 4 passes and they are in high demand during the summer months. Only Homer Library patrons ages 18 or older can check them out. With each pass, up to 8 people are entitled to a free general admission to Brookfield Zoo and the Hamill Family Play Zoo (this also includes free parking for up to 2 vehicles). Passes can be checked out for 3 days. An overdue fine of $5.00 per day will be charged to your account if it is returned late. When returning the zoo passes, please do not return them in the book drop. Also, the Bookmobile's Summer Reading Club runs from June 8th - July 29th, when readers will have the chance to win fun prizes! We hope to see you at the library or on the bookmobile this summer!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Teen Intern Applications Still Being Accepted&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Applications for this summer's Teen Intern Program are now available! You can pick one up at the library, or you can download one &lt;a href="http://homerlibrary.org/teenevents/SummerInternProgram.pdf"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;! The program is open to teens who are entering 6th grade &amp;amp; up (as of Fall 2009). Shifts are usually limited to 1-3 hours per week, and volunteer space for each event is based on first come, first served (dates and times of each event are available on the application). The deadline for applications is June 1, 2009, and applicants will be notified of their schedule by June 8, 2009. There will be no orientation meetings this year, so please read the rules found on the application. We look forward to having you intern at the library this summer!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Teen Advisory Board&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Teens in 9-12 grades are invited to join the library's new Teen Advisory Board! Members will have the opportunity to influence the Homer Library's teen services. TAB will meet once a month to discuss books, programming, and other library topics. Members will receive volunteer hours for attending TAB meetings. He will be greatly missed by many people and organizations that he devoted his time and energy to.  He was found with his earphones on listening to a book in his last moments. Patrons will learn the basics of Word, Excel, or PowerPoint in one informative session. Classes will be held on laptops (provided by the library) in the library's meeting room. Drinks and food are not allowed. Class size is limited to 5 participants. Registration for each month's class begins on the first day of that month (for example, registration for classes held in March opens on March 1st). Classes are free.
