Mixtape Table

Christened the Mixtape Table, it looks like an outsized cassette and has been meticulously crafted by Seattle designer Jeff Shierka. This handcrafted 12:1 scaled imitation of the reel is bound to leave 80s children pretty emotional. The wooden table has been fashioned out of reclaimed maple and walnut wood, which will definitely rev up the decor of any music lover’s abode. The designer made sure that every detail was in place that is evident from the presence of four holes in the design that are used to hold the tape in position when put in the player. The table is topped by a 3/8” plexiglass, giving it a plastic look.

The fine work doesn’t end here, as the place where a label is placed is dug in, while in the center the clear window has been neatly cut out giving the table a very real appearance. Mixtape Table measures 47.25” x 30” x 5” and also has a side B. In case you get bored using the side A, then flip the table around for a different wood grain pattern and enjoy the reversible nature of this awesome wooden creation.

Trey Light

One look at the simple design and you are bound to fall in love with it. The handsomely crafted light has fetched heavy inspiration from conventional as well as modern day techniques, which is pretty evident from the simplistic aura it comes smothered with. Its structure also lays a lot of stress on the diminishing gap that exists between influences of the East and West. Trey Light

Trey Light has been fashioned out of timber dowels that have been placed in such a way that it gives birth to a triangle shaped frame. This frame is kept from falling apart with the help of knotted and lashing technique, which is commonly used when it comes to bamboo joinery. A shade is created by using a cord that envelops the basic frame in style. This cord is available in four different shades, red, green, orange and blue, and each is indicative of the seasons that make a complete year.

Trey Light

Dermis Line

Designers Grisell Villasana and Mario Plasencia have come up with a furniture collection, named Dermis Line that exploits materials normally used to make shoes. The duo has recycled old furniture by smothering it with polyurethane, leather and metal fittings that becomes a new skin for the piece of furniture. When polyurethane is poured over the piece of furniture, it hardens and gives it a slippery appearance. This coating stays in place for a few months to a year, just like an old shoe sole does, after which it degrades. The furniture items, with such a coating are easy to clean as polyurethane is stain resistant so won’t leave it patchy.

LED Grow Light

Hydro Grow is back again with a grow light that will stimulate plant growth like never before. The company’s all new product is not all about powerful LEDs, but has come with a new lens technology that will skillfully modify and direct light properties for an effective result. Normally, LED grow lights comprise of LEDs that boast of high power, which make good use of four main parts, namely wiring, chip or diode, lens and package. The diode emits light, which is collected by the lens and further focuses this light towards a particular dispersion angle, which in most of the cases is at an angle of 90 degree. But, a small part of this light manages to get away from the pattern that has been set and falls out of the set perimeter, which is 90 degrees in this case. Hydro Grow came up with a method that recaptures this escaped light and further used it to come up with a stronger output.

A customized secondary optic was developed, which has been named as X lens that has been fashioned out from optics grade acrylic that too from a single piece. This includes a good 21 individual lenses, out of which 6 have been engineered an exclusive way so that these are able to match the wavelengths produced by light from LEDs that too lower than them. In comparison to the primary lens with a 90 degree angle, the X lens comes up with an output improved by an astonishing 429%. This is a record in itself and surpasses the lens made by Hydro Grow before. But, breaking the record yet again is the X2 lens that swanks of an output that is 569% higher than the X1 lens, which means a 25% increase.

LED come sans any mercury or other harmful particles, unlike High Pressure or HPS Grow Lights, and also use 60% less power. It will bring down air-conditioning requirements and will also bring down the cost of bulb replacements. This is some good news for farmers, as LEDs are not only recyclable but even after a usage of 50,000 hours manage to continue with 70% output. Counting all this, it won’t be wrong to say that LED grow lights are here to stay.
