La creación de Cocina Hondureña y Más nació pensando en todas aquellas personas a quienes les encanta la comida típica hondureña, o en aquellos que simplemente quieren recordar y/o aprender las maravillas del arte culinario, no exclusivamente para la gente de Honduras, sino también para aquellos interesados de cualquier país. Es un placer para mi el compartir (en español y en inglés) con ustedes algo tan importante para nuestra cultura culinaria, especialmente para aquellos que habitan fuera de Honduras. Estoy segura que las recetas les serán de gran ayuda. También dentro de este blog encontrarán historias y leyendas Hondureñas.

The creation of Cocina Hondureña y Más (Honduran cuisine and more) came about from thinking of all those who love the typical Honduran meal or simply want to remember and/or learn the culinary wonders, not just for people from Honduras but also for those from other countries who are interested. It is my pleasure to share with you (in Spanish and English) something so important to our food culture, especially for those who live outside of Honduras. I'm sure the recipes will be of great help. ¿Teguci What?

¿Teguci What? was started in December 2009 as a way for my husband and I to update our friends and family on the process and progress of our move from Des Moines, Iowa, USA, to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, after I was offered and accepted a teaching job beginning in the summer of 2010. (The blog name stems from the fact that our friends and family had trouble pronouncing Tegucigalpa — some still do!) After some early posts full of anticipation, moving woes, and the Olympics, we moved to Honduras in July, and now blog frequently about our experiences getting to know the city, the people, and the culture here in Tegus.

Both my husband and I blog, and each of our entries have separate flavors. Chris' blogs tend to be shorter, less picture-filled, and more insightful. My blogs, on the other hand ... are a little more colorful, sporadic, and (filled with parenthetical anecdotes). Since we are both working down here, (Chris for a company based in the United States, myself for an American school here just outside the city), our experiences are different, yet we both start and end in the same place every day, so we have a lot of shared experiences, too.

We're having a great time on our Honduran adventure, and we hope you will stop by and check out ¿Teguci What? and share it with us!

¿Teguci What? (¿Teguci Qué?) inició en diciembre de 2009 como una manera en la que mi esposo y yo podríamos mantener al día a nuestros amigos y familiares en el proceso y progreso de nuestra mudanza desde Des Moines, Iowa, Estados Unidos de América, a Tegucigalpa, Honduras, luego de que me fuera ofrecido y aceptado un empleo de enseñanza en el que comenzaría en el verano de 2010. (El nombre del blog surge del hecho de que nuestros amigos y familiares tenían problemas pronunciando Tegucigalpa - !algunos todavía lo tienen!). Después de unos cuantos posts iniciales llenos de anticipación, de dificultades en la mudanza y de las olimpiadas, nos mudamos a Honduras en julio, y ahora blogueamos con frecuencia sobre nuestras experiencias conociendo la ciudad, la gente y la cultura aquí en Teguz.

Tanto mi esposo como yo blogueamos, y las entradas de cada uno tienen sabores separados. Los blogs de Chris tienden a ser más cortos, con menos imágenes y más introspectivos. Mis blogs, por otra parte... son un poco más coloridos, esporádicos y (llenos de anécdotas entre paréntesis). Por cuanto ambos nos encontramos trabajando por aquí (Chris para una compañía de Estados Unidos, y yo para una escuela americana en las afueras de la ciudad), nuestras experiencias son diferentes, sin embargo ambos comenzamos y terminamos cada día en el mismo sitio, por lo que también tenemos muchas experiencias compartidas.

Estamos difrutando mucho nuestra aventura hondureña, y esperamos que usted haga una parada y chequee ¿Teguci What? y la comparta con nosotros.

Neurocosmos es un pequeño rincón donde se fraguan una serie de vaguedades literarias de amplio espectro, flojas de forma pero firmes en su propósito. Me lo planteé como remedio contra el sedentarismo estéril. Se ejercitaron un amasijo de chispeantes neuronas que sin consciencia ni pretensión lograron una exótica emergencia: el microcosmos de poesía bizarra, hecha para enmudecer el recital de los labios y ensalzar la música en los ojos que la aprecian, pues para eso fue concebida, como un fugaz destello sideral, gracias al milagro del valor añadido.

Este es Neurocosmos, el más querido y abandonado de mis blogs. Humilde galaxia remota, conforme con el destino de ser devorada por el más oscuro de los agujeros negros. Pero antes de que esto ocurra, favor repasarla con sus ojos cantores.

Neurocosmos is a little corner where a series of literary vagaries of a broad spectrum are forged, loose in their form but firm in their purpose. I proposed it to myself as a remedy against sterile slothfulness. It required the exercise of a jumble of sparkling neurons that, unconsciously and without pretension, achieved an exotic emergency: A microcosm of bizarre poetry, created to mute the recital of the lips, and to extol the music in the eyes that appreciate it, because it was conceived for that, as a sidereal fleeting gleam, thanks to the miracle of added value.

This is Neurocosmos, my most beloved and abandoned of my blogs — humble and remote galaxy, resigned to the fate of being devoured by the darkest of black holes. But before this happens, please go over and examine it with a musical eye.

Diary of a Third World Fashionista

La Ceiba isn’t exactly a fashion capital. Therefore, “Diary of a Third World Fashionista” isn’t your typical style blog. My love for fashion began in my grandma’s closet and ever since then I spend hours dissecting fashion magazines and attending sewing courses in government institutes trying to make the most of the few resources my country offers.

On this blog I share my challenges as I open up a sewing shop, my fabulous finds in second hand/thrift shops, the funny reactions from people when they notice my clothes don’t match on purpose and the unexpected places I get my inspiration from (from Central Park to nearby towns). It is simply a personal escape in which I try to remind myself that all I have to do is be constant in fighting for a dream and enjoying the obstacles while I’m at it. I do this all light-heartedly and, obviously, in 5-inch heels.

La Ceiba no es exactamente una capital de la moda. Por lo tanto, “Diario de una Fashionista del Tercer Mundo” no es tu típico blog de estilo. Mi amor por la moda comenzó en el closet de mi abuelita y desde entonces paso horas disecando revistas de lo mismo y tomando cursos de costura en institutos del gobierno aprovechando los pocos recursos que mi país me ofrece.

En este blog comparto mis retos al querer abrir mi taller de costura, mis compras fabulosas en tiendas de segunda, las reacciones graciosas de las personas al ver que mi ropa no combina a propósito y los lugares inesperados de donde sale mi inspiración (desde el Parque Central hasta los pueblos cercanos). Es simplemente un escape personal en el que busco recordarme a mi misma que lo importante es luchar por los sueños y disfrutar los obstáculos. Todo esto lo hago con un corazón liviano y, obviamente, en tacones de cinco pulgadas.

I am a retired registered nurse, married to my Catracho for almost 25 years. When we were married, many people said it was a 'green card marriage'. Twenty-five years later, he is an American citizen and I have a Honduran green card.

We moved to Trujillo, Colon, a small town on the North Coast of Honduras in November 2009 to retire. Because I had been here many times, I did not think I would have to cope with much culture shock. I was wrong.

I enjoy reading, needlework, counted cross stitch and teaching myself beading techniques. I write about my life in Honduras, building our new house, family, and other things in general. Sometimes I rant about things, especially the injustices in life.

Soy una enfermera registrada jubilada, casada con mi catracho desde hace casi 25 años. Cuando nos casamos, mucha gente dijo que era un 'matrimonio de la green card'. Veinticinco años después, él es un ciudadano estadounidense y yo tengo una tarjeta de residencia en Honduras.

Nos mudamos a Trujillo, Colón, un pequeño pueblo en la costa norte de Honduras en noviembre de 2010 para retirarnos. Como yo había estado aquí muchas veces, no pensé que tendría que hacer frente a un gran choque cultural. Me equivoqué.

Me gusta sentarme en el balcón, disfrutar de la vista, la lectura, la costura, cruzeta y aprender técnicas de joyería. Escribo sobre mi vida en Honduras, la construcción de nuestra nueva casa, la familia y otras cosas en general. A veces despotrico sobre cosas, sobre todo las injusticias de la vida.

My blog, His Eyes Honduras, exists to share my daily experiences in my life, work and family. I live in Tegucigalpa, working with an non-governmental organization (NGO) called His Eyes. I am the executive director, administering everything that we do here in Honduras. This includes: a medical-optometric-dental clinic with a laboratory, four Churches outside the capital, a clothing ministry, a feeding project for malnourished children and hosting mission groups that come from abroad. In daily life, this could include pictures and stories from things that strike me as interesting or different from what might be expected by people abroad, my battles and difficulties...and also the successes that God has given us, and in that would also include pictures of my family. From time to time I include a little about the economic, political and/or cultural situation here as well.

Mi blog, His Eyes Honduras (Sus ojos Honduras) es para contar las experiencias diarias en mi vida, trabajo, y familia. Vivo en Tegucigalpa, y trabajo con una organización no-gubermental (ONG) que se llama His Eyes. Soy el director ejecutivo, y administro todo lo que hacemos aquí en Honduras. Esto incluye: una clínica medica-oftalmológica-odontóloga y laboratorio, cuatro iglesias fuera de la capital, un ministerio de ropa, un proyecto de alimentación a niños desnutridos, y hospedaje a grupos misioneros que vienen del extranjero. En cuanto a la vida diaria, esto podría incluir fotos e historias de temas que a mi parecer fueran interesantes o diferentes a lo esperado para las personas en el extranjero, mis luchas y dificultades...y también de los exitos que Dios nos ha dado, y aquí incluiría imágenes de mi familia. De vez en cuando también incluyo un poco sobre la situación económica, política, y/o cultural.

He decidido escribir mi blog "Nacido para Triunfar" para motivar a otros a comenzar a vivir una vida plena y motivarse. Motivo a otros a encontrar su propósito y a utilizar sus dones, talentos y habilidades para alcanzar sus sueños. Estoy convencida de que cada persona es especial y muy valiosa y que tiene un propósito único por el cual está en esta tierra. Muchos tienen sueños que no se atreven a hacerlos realidad, para ellos mi mensaje es: Atrévete a vivir, Atrévete a triunfar... Así como otros han soñado, yo sueño con un mundo en que cada persona se siente feliz y plenamente realizada, porque tiene un propósito claro y se desarrolla en sus áreas de fortaleza. Sueño con un mundo en el que se busca la excelencia en el hacer y vivir diario.

Para lograr ser exitosos en nuestra vida, tenemos que romper algunos esquemas mentales que nos detienen y nos impiden crecer. Debemos atrevernos a cruzar fronteras reales e imaginarias. Para eso necesitamos estar motivados y tener confianza en que si podremos. Mi grano de arena es ayudar a motivarte a realizar tu propósito.

Y principalmente creo que para lograr cualquier sueño hay que comenzar... ¿donde? Cómo no lo sé, yo decidí comenzar mi sueno escribiendo este blog, Nacido para Triunfar.

I motivate others to find their purpose and use their gifts, talents, and skills to achieve their dreams. I am convinced that each person is special and very valuable and has a special purpose for which they are on this earth. As others have dreamed, I dream of a world in which each person feels happy and fully realized, because it has a clear purpose and is developed in their areas of strength. I dream of a world that strives for excellence in making and daily living.

To become successful in our lives, we have to break some mindsets that stop us and prevent us from growing. We must dare to cross real and imaginary borders. For that, we need to be motivated and have confidence that we can. My grain of sand is to help motivate you to fulfill your purpose.

Don't let our silly title of the blog fool you! (The Roberts — a lot about nothing and then some) We began this wacky adventure with just a little information on the country of Honduras (and of the Spanish language itself), but willing spirits to commit to at least two years of working here. We are a couple of teachers who just came from St. Louis (originally from east Tennessee) to teach in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, at an international school. This is our first overseas teaching experience.

We both write on the blog — Elisa is prone to pictures, while Colin is prone to deeper commentary. Because of this blog, we are better connected friends back home, and it offers a good way to express what this short bit of time has taught us. As you read, you'll find out some of our adventures, some of our struggles, and what changes we've embraced (or are at least working on embracing). Also, every now and then we'll entertain you with some classroom stories. Teaching always offers a plethora of opportunities for storytelling. We love people and we hope you find that our blog gives you a small glimpse into how our lives have been changed because of "the little country that could."

¡No deje que el nombre ridiculo de nuestro blog los distraiga! (Los Roberts — mucho de nada y aun más). Comenzamos esta loca aventura nada mas con un poco de información acerca del pais de Honduras (y del Español tambien), pero con un gran espíritu de entregarnos a trabajar por lo menos dos años aquí. Somos un par de maestros que vinimos de St. Louis (originalmente del este de Tennessee) a enseñar en Tegucigalpa, Honduras, en una escuela internacional. Es nuestra primera experiencia enseñando fuera de los Estados Unidos.

Ambos escribimos en el blog — Elisa se enfoca en las fotos mientras Colin se enfoca en los comentarios. Por este blog, estamos más conectados con nuestros amigos en nuestro pais y ofrece una buena manera de expresar lo que este poco tiempo nos ha enseñado. En lo que vaya leyendo encontrará algunas de nuestras aventuras, dificultades y cambios que hemos hecho (o por lo menos hemos tratado de hacer). Además, de vez en cuando los trataremos de entretener con algunas historias de aulas de clase. La docencia siempre ofrece una plétora de oportunidades para contar historias. Nos encanta la gente y esperamos que usted se de cuenta de cómo nuestro blog le muestra la manera en la que nuestras vidas han sido cambiadas debido al “pequeño país que sí pudo.”

Teresa Searcy and SMART Medical Teams in Honduras is a blog by Missionary Teresa Andrews Searcy and is all about her daily adventures in Honduras. The blog includes information regarding SMART Medical Teams and the work they do in Honduras. Teresa often shares recipes since cooking is her favorite hobby.

Teresa was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, and then when married moved to Kansas City area where she lived for 25 years. She is the mother of two daughters, Jessica Searcy Maldonado and Sarah Searcy Gonzalez and her children have blessed her with 6 grandchildren. She has been living in Honduras since 2005 but began her work in Honduras in 1991.

SMART Medical Teams is the medical mission arm of Shechinah Ministries which Teresa and her husband Michael Searcy founded in 1981. SMART Medical Teams hosts medical and surgery teams from institutions all over the United States, which help the poor of Honduras meet their health needs. The ministry is also involved in giving away wheelchairs, food, clothing, shoes, home building, church building, water well drilling, recycling projects, cake decorating missions teams, mosaic missions teams, eye surgery and eyeglass teams. Teresa is extremely interested in the environment and taking care of the natural beauty found Honduras. Los equipos médicos SMART son el brazo médico de los Ministerios Shechinah que Teresa y su esposo Michael Searcy fundaron en 1981. Estos equipos médicos SMART sirven de anfitrión a equipos médicos y de cirujanos que provienen de instituciones de todas partes de los Estados Unidos, quienes ayudan al sector pobre de Honduras a cubrir sus necesidades de salud. El Ministerio también está involucrado en la donación de sillas de ruedas, comida, ropa, calzado, así como en la construcción de casas e iglesias, perforación de pozos de agua, proyectos de reciclaje, equipos misioneros para decoración de pasteles y elaboración de mosaicos, equipos misioneros dedicados a la cirugía de ojos y lentes. Teresa está extremadamente interesada en el medio ambiente y en cuidar la belleza natural de Honduras. Ella está disponible para enseñar la Biblia, ya sea por medio de seminarios o a través de servicios en iglesias, ya sea en los Estados Unidos como en Honduras y sus alrededores, no obstante la programación de estos eventos debe ser hecha con suficiente anticipación.

Hondubirding es básicamente un blog con información extensa sobre la observación de aves en Honduras con sus listados de especies por zona e información de estas, así como una extensa sección fotográfica por cada entrada, haciendo énfasis en la avifauna local hondureña.

El blog comenzó en el año 2006 durante una tarde de ideas a medio camino y casi después de four años, el blog ha madurado y aún sigue con fuerza con posts de vez en cuando, sin olvidar la extensa base de datos que ha sido compilada a través de casi 10 años de pajarear con hondureños y turistas extranjeros.

Hondubirding is basically a birding resource blog for species and hotspots for birding in Honduras. There are travel lists and directions to get to the places and a very extensive photograph section for each post, highlighting the local Honduran avifauna.

The blog came to be in 2006 during an afternoon of freshly half baked ideas, almost four years after the blog has matured and is still going strong with eventual posts, but not forgetting the strong database compiled from our almost 10 years out and about birding with the locals and foreign tourists.

My Utila Life is a video- and photography-centric blog about life on Treasure Beach, the cays and Utila's beautiful, yet relatively undiscovered southwestern shore. Located four miles from Utila Town and only accessible by boat, Treasure Beach has been my home since 2007. During that time I’ve been involved in the construction of three homes and have played host to vacationers from around the world.

La página se ve perfectamente con otros buscadores (mejores y mas rápidos) como
Google Chrome y Firefox. Ambos pueden ser descargados gratuitamente. Chrome es especialmente rápido y fácil de utilizar. Usted no está obligado a usar el Explorador de Internet de Microsoft solamente porque este viene instalado automáticamente en su computadora! Intente utilizar uno de los otros buscadores y posiblemente estará sorprendido de cuanto mas fáciles y menos complicados son.

Ya que los fragmentos de los artículos mas recientes de nuestro bloguero, son parte integral de este blog, no eliminaremos esa aplicación solamente para satisfacer un sistema de buscador (Explorador de Internet de Microsoft) el cual no funciona con los estándares de WWW.

Si no puede renunciar a su MS IE, aquí hay un par de cosas que puede intentar:

Since the snippets of our bloggers’ most recent articles are an integral part of this blog, we will not be removing that application in order to satisfy a browser system (IE) that does not function with WWW standards.

If you can’t give up your IE, here are a couple of things you can try:

and/or

En la costa norte Hondureña tenemos la costumbre de sustituir las "S" por la "J" de alli viene el Jampedrano.

Un blog escrito por un jampedrano que describe sus vivencias dentro y fuera de San Pedro Sula, comparte sus puntos vista aun y cuando no sean del gusto popular, su desencanto con la politica, la religion, el futbol y la idiotez extrema (si es que los tres anteriores no son la misma cosa, segun el al autor)

Existe el espacio para la recomendacion filmica y musical, la posibilidad de jugar Pac-Man (por sino le gusta el blog) y la comedia, aunque aclara desde antes que el tipo de humor no es tan explicito, al preguntar al autor sobre esto solo contesto "viva el Sarcasmo".

El Jampedrano by Luís Matute.

Someone from San Pedro Sula is called a Sampedrano in Spanish. In the Honduran north coast, we have the habit of replacing the "S" with "J" when we speak, so that’s where “Jampedrano” comes from.

This is a blog written by a Jampedrano describing his experiences in and out of San Pedro Sula, sharing his viewpoints, even when they are not popularly palatable, as well as his disenchantment with politics, religion, soccer, and extreme idiocy (that is, if the first three are not synonymous with the last).

In addition, there is space for film and musical recommendations, the opportunity to play Pac-Man (in case you dislike the blog) and comedy, although it should be noted that the type of humor is not very explicit; questioning the author about this, he answered only: "long live sarcasm".

Antes de Internet la libertad de expresión se supeditaba al mero ejercicio periodístico, al juicio selectivo de un editor todopoderoso quien decidía lo que debía leer el público, con limitados espacios para el resto del pueblo que gozaba del mismo derecho, pero con poco poder para ejercerlo. Gracias al avance de la tecnología se logró que el ciudadano común pueda optar por un auténtico espacio personal, libre, donde es capaz de expresar su pensamiento, no sólo al país, sino que también al resto del mundo. Con el formato llamado Blog la libertad de expresión es una realidad global, donde el individuo comparte su palabras más allá de una frontera.

Así surge “El Catracho”, espacio virtual que acoge comentarios de su humilde autor, David Morán, escritor de oficio sin beneficio y poeta por necesidad. Se destilan temas políticos, culturales, deportivos y de otra variedad relacionados con Honduras y el resto del mundo. Son apreciaciones a veces jocosas, irónicas, chocantes, controvertidas, que de ninguna manera pretende competir con el periodismo ni tomar su estilo.

Quedan invitados los lectores de Honduras Blog a pasarse por este pequeño lugar.

Gestalt es un espacio donde el arte y la cultura pop pueden sentarse juntas, donde se puede comentar sobre lo interesante que puede ser una obra de arte, hasta la importancia de los videos de Lady Gaga, no hay restricciones sobre lo que puede ser arte o interesante, ya que la cultura es algo que se construye día a día. No es necesario hablar en palabras de cinco sílabas para que algo sea cultural, ni tener que usar boina para tener que ser respetado, ya que cultura es lo que construímos y consumimos odos los días (o eso pensamos).

Ciencias, Política y Religión es por el Doctor Edwin Francisco Herrera Paz.

Este blog nació como 'La Honduras Valiente' durante el punto más álgido de la crisis política en Honduras con el objeto de contrarrestar los ataques externos a nuestro país. Al siguiente día de la defenestración del ex-presidente Manuel Zelaya Rosales en el mes de junio de 2009, la gigantesca maquinaria informática del bloque socialista sudamericano comenzó un ataque continuo e implacable contra Honduras. Los presidentes de Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador y Argentina en confabulación con el titular de la OEA, José Miguel Inzulsa, consiguieron la votación unánime de los países miembros para la expulsión de Honduras de esa organización. Muchos hondureños − que hasta ese momento habíamos permanecido neutrales − comenzamos la acción patriótica de diseminar la información sobre el estado real de la situación en el país.

Al finalizar la crisis y con el retorno a la vida democrática, el blog fue renombrado 'Ciencias, Polítca y Religión' y la temática del blog se desplazó hacia artículos de interés general, como la educación en Honduras, la situación de la corrupción gubernamental, la cultura de la pobreza, además de artículos de ciencia, filosofía científica y popular, de contenido religioso y una que otra banalidad. El blog está orientado hacia la producción de pensamiento crítico en diversos temas, además de hacer énfasis en el abordaje sistémico de los problemas tomando en cuenta que las sociedades, como los gobiernos y el ser humano en todos sus aspectos, son entidades que se encuentran incluidas dentro de la categoría de sistemas complejos, para los cuales existen muchas soluciones posibles. En diversos artículos, además de la exposición de un problema, se presentan algunas posibles soluciones que en determinadas circunstancias pueden resultar polémicas.

La inclinación política del blog no es ni de izquierda ni de derecha, habidas cuentas de que cualquier sistema político puede ofrecer soluciones adecuadas a los diversos problemas de las naciones. Sin embargo desde el punto de vista religioso es esencialmente cristiano, sin ofrecer tregua, excepto cuando se trata de moderar la polémica entre ciencia y religión, temas que desde el punto de vista del autor son complementarios y no contradictorios.

Durante la crisis política se sugirió en algunos artículos un nuevo sistema político basado en una mayor participación de los ciudadanos en la vida pública de las naciones. Para este fin los gobiernos deberían implementar un sistema de canalización de las opiniones e ideas de los ciudadanos mediante un software que emule las redes sociales y que integre un complejo sistema de votación en tiempo real. Dicho aparato informático, basado en la inteligencia colectiva, constituiría un verdadero cuarto poder en el sistema de pesos y contrapesos de las democracias modernas.

Ciencias, Política y Religión (Science, Politics, and Religion) is a Spanish-language blog by Doctor Edwin Francisco Herrera Paz.

This blog was born as 'La Honduras Valiente' during the height of the political crisis in Honduras in order to counter external threats to our country. The day after the sacking of former President Manuel Zelaya Rosales in June 2009, the giant informational machinery of the South American socialist bloc began a continuous and relentless attack against Honduras. The presidents of Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Argentina, in collusion with the head of the OAS, José Miguel Inzulsa, got the unanimous vote of the member countries for the expulsion of Honduras from that organization. Many Hondurans, who had hitherto remained neutral, started the patriotic action of disseminating information about the real state of the situation in the country.

After the crisis and the return to democracy, the blog was renamed 'Ciencias, Polítca y Religión' (Science, Politics, and Religion) and the theme of the blog shifted to general interest articles, such as education in Honduras, the situation of government corruption, the culture of poverty, as well as articles of science, scientific and popular philosophy, religious content and the occasional banality. The blog is geared towards the production of critical thinking in various topics and to emphasize the systemic approach, taking into account the problems that companies, governments and human beings in all their aspects are entities that are included within the category of complex systems, for which there are many possible solutions. In several articles, in addition to the exposure of a problem, are some possible solutions that in some circumstances can be controversial.

The political slant of the blog is neither left nor right; any political system can provide adequate solutions to the various problems of nations. However, from the religious point of view it is essentially Christian, offering no respite, except when it comes to moderating the debate between science and religion, issues from the point of view of the author are complementary and not contradictory.

During the political crisis, some articles suggested a new political system based on greater participation of citizens in public life of nations. To this end, governments should implement a system for channeling the views and ideas of the people using software to emulate the social networks and integrating a complex voting system in real time. The computerized device, based on collective intelligence, would be a real fourth power in the system of checks and balances of a modern democracy.

Its original objective was to discuss topics such as Honduran politics and culture for an international readership, with special attention to the American readership, but now he mostly translates some of his posts published in his Spanish-language blog “Nacer en Honduras” (which can be translated as ‘To be Born in Honduras’), which is directed mainly to Honduran readers. He intends to return to the original objective and to write more for the “Born in Honduras” blog in the future.

In the author's opinion —Ardegas— what happened on June 28, 2009, when Manuel Zelaya Rosales was expelled from the country, was not a coup d'Etat, but he certainly doesn't regard himself as a rightist.
