If you’re like me, you genuinely desire independence and true freedom in life. What I’ve discovered in 30 plus years in business may come as shocking news: Lady Freedom is not going to show up at your doorstep. In fact, she stubbornly and persistently has and always will refuse to come to you.
If you want true freedom, you’ve got to raise your hand. You’ve got to volunteer. You’ve got to commit to the concept of freedom, and get into determined, bold motion. Freedom requires your intentional pursuit.

So, what about this economy?

The financial prognosticators that I follow, to a person, predict a continued, and I’m sorry to report, worsening recession. No, they’re not negative, sky-is-falling, alarmists. What that means is that financial freedom, and even survival, could be increasingly difficult to find. But, be not dismayed. Freedom is still out there awaiting those who truly desire her rewards.

Now is not the time to hunker down and hide behind our prior successes or the money we may have managed to accumulate (if any). Now is the time to find a way to offer more value to society and other peoples’ lives than ever before.

New York Times best-selling author, Andy Andrews, says, “Every good thing that ever happened in your life happened because something changed.” Most People (MP’s) don’t recognize the power in instituting change in their lives, their mindsets, their lifestyle, and their businesses. It’s time to untie the bow and lift the lid to embrace that dream once more. The truth is, you won’t be happy until you do!

Never before has an economy made so many demands on those who value freedom. We have a political administration that wants to, by mandate, take revenues from our producers to give to our non-producers. While compassion may be the genuine rationale, to the extent that we go that route, the results will be increasingly disastrous for our economy. Freedom requires its participants to get into motion and produce. Individual and collective “action” is the only way for a nation and its people to prosper. Producers are not to be feared, but rather supported and encouraged.

So, what is the answer? I believe that the tougher the economic climate, the more we must rely on spiritual reinforcement – the truly effective rampart and ammunition needed for the battle.

After experiencing several years of drought in North Texas, it became clear to me and my family that the only answer for the parched earth, dead vegetation, and dried up lakes was God’s provision. In order to fill our lakes back to “normal” levels, each lake individually required literally billions of gallons of water of replenishment to get back to “normal.” There was really nothing that we could humanly do to alter conditions, other than pray.

God knew what was needed and He was the resource. He was, is, and always will be faithful. In His timing, God delivered literally trillions of gallons of rain to renew and raise Texas lakes back from horrifically low levels to abundant overflow well above normal! The landscape changed from dusty brown to green again; and watering restrictions were, after years, finally rescinded.
My family’s primary prayer during that seemingly unceasing drought was a line out of the Lord’s prayer, “Thy kingdom come…on earth as it is in heaven.” Indeed, heaven was the very source of that much needed rain. In this similar economic drought, the same prayer applies, “Thy kingdom come…on earth as it is in heaven.” Freedom is from God Almighty. Replenishment is God’s work, even when, and especially when our own efforts seem futile.

It is clear to me that the economy is so out of control at this point that God is our only answer. What we as mortals cannot accomplish, God surely can. He wants us to fully know that He is our answer both now and forever. Sometimes we’re not able to understand that profound truth until we’ve experienced literal and metaphoric drought and famine that has been severe and beyond our own control.

This economy is unquestionably troubled and has been for the better part of two years. But, rather than being upset and throwing in the proverbial towel, we can know in our inner-most being that God knows what is going on and has the solution at a time when we can only hypothesize and conjecture.

In your quest for the best life possible; in your quest for freedom – don’t give up. Hang tough. Raise your hand. Volunteer to intentionally pursue freedom and your dream. Use the power of prayer and your own ability to innovate. Be prepared to change and know that change is a very good thing, and not something to avoid.

Most of all, know that God is in charge. Trust Him. Obey Him – and know that the answers – all the answers and perfect solutions are in His hands.

God gives each of us the ability to produce wealth. Success belongs to those who strive for it, so continue to run the race to win! We are all able to win in our own individual ways. When our Creator lives within us he gives each one of us creativity, so draw on the creativity within you. Work with the Godly gifts that you have been given and ask for strength and wisdom daily – it will be given unto you, just as our Heavenly Father has promised. You have to get out there and do it, nothing comes to those who sit back and wait! This also means consistent effort and not giving up on the half-way mark. Staring Again!

Are we willing to persevere in order to win the prize? Take a look at the book of Job. He refused to quit even when he had lost everything including his health and his wealth. He was not only restored but he was better off than he was at the beginning of the story. So, we too can win if we are willing to tenaciously go for it!
Quitters do not win. Just when they give up someone else usually wins they prize that they would have gained. If it were my choice I would hang on and remain firm. Always remain firm with your eyes on the end goal and not your immediate circumstances. Nothing worthwhile is gained without hard work, perseverance and determination.
So, if you are facing difficult times and a bad situation right now, remember to draw on God’s strength and grace to get you through. Start afresh and go for it! All things are possible through Christ who strengthens us.

Faith

What is faith? Faith is a substance and grows by feeding on His Word (Romans 10 v 17). Faith needs to be connected to hope. God is always bigger than any situation you are in. Let’s strengthen our faith by reading and dwelling on God’s Word and keep giving God all the glory for what He has promised you. Be resolute, such faith honours God and God will honour such faith.

Seek God for clarity and guidance in your life. Listen to His still small voice – the Holy Spirit that dwells within you. All you need is faith the size of a mustard seed (Matthew 17 v 20). So, let’s start small. Just do it! Start now or you won’t start at all. Believe that your seeds will grow into something bigger because with God all things are possible. When He honours your faith, acknowledge it and thank him and then build on it. Always make sure your words are in line with God’s Word and He will honour them.

So, if we are willing to meet God’s conditions and listen to what He has to say to us we will all see great things happen in our lives – just through faith!

Psalm 19:14 – 20:5

The word, “may” is used to express the ideas of possibility, probability, and/or permission that something might occur. There are 7 “may’s” about which we can focus as we step into the month of May. A “may” in this scripture is a form of speech that prepares our hearts to the possibility and probability of an “open door” to God’s blessings in our lives.

I. 19:14 “ ‘May’ the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Lord, I believe in Your sovereignty, power, and love. Allow me to enter into Your presence appropriately in both my heart and language. Take away any malice, jealousy, lust, decadence, or any hint of sin of any kind that might inhabit my thoughts. May my thoughts be pure enough to approach Your throne.

II. 20:1a “ ‘May’ the Lord answer you when you are in distress.” The very best thing that can happen as we cry out to God is that we indeed hear His voice in the midst of travail. Lord, don’t be silent when we call out to You. Hear our prayers. Hear our cries. We are in the midst of very uncomfortable times, even times of anguish – hear our prayers, O Father!

III. 20:1b “ ‘May’ the name of the God of Jacob protect you.” Lord, Your very name is powerful. We call out to You and say, “Oh, God” when we sense danger. We are in desperate need of protection as real forces of evil and financial and natural disaster threaten us constantly. When confronted with danger, even the unfaithful soul instinctively cries out, “Oh, God.” We know without instruction Who it is we need in threatening times.

IV 20:2 “ ‘May’ He send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.” Lord, surround me with Your Holy Spirit constantly. Undergird my feet with a foundation of angelic support sent from Your holy place. Paul say in I Corinthians 5:15 that we have “ten thousand guardians in Christ”. Yes, Lord, send your powerful angels to surround us. Support us with spiritual forces that that can only come from You!

V. 20:3 “ ‘May’ He remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.” We have served You, Lord. We have given tithes and offerings to You. We know You want our hearts, but please don’t forget that we have acknowledged You with our prayers, our lives, our service, and our contributions, as well. You deserve more than we can give and we are inept in what we return to You. We know that You always out-give us. Help us to give to You more, and with grateful hearts, knowing that all good things we receive are gifts from You.

VI. 20:4 “ ‘May’ He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” The dreams you have given us are pure, oh God; and we ask that our Godly pursuits will be realized and completed in our lifetime. May our fondest desires come to fruition through Your power and design. Take away the obstructions and deceptions, and allow us to see Your path. We thank You in advance for the riches you have set aside for us during this short journey of life on earth.

VII. 20:5 “We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. ‘May’ the Lord grant all your requests.” We envision success in life because You are mighty to save and conquer, oh Lord. Thank you for listening to our many requests in our prayers and thoughts. We cling to Your promises and Your greatness, knowing that Your love and care for us, Father, is greater than we can ever imagine.

...May we experience the hope and joy that God’s word gives us. These 7 “may’s” are ours to embrace now and forever. Be encouraged today - especially during this beautiful season of our lives.

Perseverance

“We will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6 v 9). You will succeed because of your determination and only if you do not give up. Paul said that he was going to finish what he started and so we too must stand firm on God’s Word and not give up the battle, but stay the course to win.
To be successful you need to keep at it. Each new day will present us with new challenges, but with God on our side nothing is impossible. Your perseverance will pay off. Let’s win the prize. Never give up! Don’t be a quitter. Let’s turn adversity in to advancement and keep persevering in order to succeed. You can do it!

Sometimes we need to give up something in order to gain the bigger prize. But, it is worth it. So let’s keep running to win the race and only stop when the task is complete. Life was never designed to be easy, but we have an Almighty God and ever Loving Father who is with us every step of the race. So, keep going…. Persevere and you will win!

Pray and Listen

Do we often ramble on and wonder why we never get answers? Do you take time to listen to the still small voice of God and what he wants for your life? When Jesus prayed he talked to His Father, this involves getting answers. We are taught to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5 v 17), this means we should stay in touch with God at all times and be spiritually sensitive to His still small voice – the Holy Spirit within us.
It would be wise for us to tune into what God is saying to us and to unclutter our hearts and minds to hear His special voice. He has special plans for each one of us and our lives, so let’s listen more.

God says to us in Jeremiah 29 v 11 “ I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for”
So, if we stay the course and continuously work according to God’s plan for us how can we go wrong. Joseph rose out of his pit to become a great leader. How do you know what God has in store for you if you don’t continuously strive for the ultimate prize that He has for you?
Before you get into something, make sure it’s God’s will for you. Have you prayerfully considered all your options? Don’t miss your moment – take the opportunity as soon as it arises. Nothing is perfect but with Christ on your side all things are possible.
“…When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for” Mark 11 v 24

Being Courageous

“You will know the truth and the truth will make you free” John 8 v 32
It takes a lot of courage to face up to the truth about ourselves. We need to face up to it because it will free us to carry on courageously. Change is never easy, but you will feel better and the load lighter when you do.
I know that standing up for my convictions that Christ is the only truth and way has never been easy, but it has blessed me beyond measure. Why should we run away from our core beliefs?
We need to get along with others and not keep a record of wrong doings. This displays a true level of maturity. Getting along with others with will provide us with a key factor to success. Remember that every hardship we encounter will only mould us into wiser and more confident and courageous individuals. Look at all the courageous men and women in history – nothing came easily, but they all fought the fight and won. Lastly, take courage because the Lord is always on the side of the righteous and He will uphold and strengthen you.
