The Red Panda At The Zoo

I remember, during our visit to the zoo this year (2009), we were able to see very few Red Panda there, and it was quite a challenge what we had to go through inorder to finally see them!

We like bamboos, so we ended up hanging out in an area at the zoo which had plenty of bamboo landscaping. While we were in the bamboo area, we had the opportunity to be close to where the Red Panda where situated. But being able to see the Red Panda, it was not as easy as we thought its gonna be, we had to literally find where they were hiding or where their resting place is, and when we finally saw two of them, they were sleeping, like 99 percent of the time!

We waited and waited for them to wake up, we even try to shake some of the bamboo trees trying to catch their attention, but they were hardcore tired, I should say.

It took us several tries, and transfered from different spots and angles, to finally get one to wake up and capture one awake! Here it is:

I got lucky because when I clicked the camera, the cute little roundy face Red Panda was looking back at me, sweet!

Arguing Flamingoes

We went to the zoo few weeks ago, and encountered some of the most exotic wild species in this world. During our visit there, we got the chance t0 see flamingoes again, we saw one during our trip to a Florida park too. It was a nice relaxing day at the zoo with great sunny weather and some of the animals are in their food mood like when we were observing the flamingoes. There were quite a few flamingoes in a little section of the zoo, when all of the sudden we heared flamingoes started arguing with each other, atleast thats what it looked like to me, see the photo above. Looks like they are fighting who get the shrimps or something!

By the way, according to facts about flamingoes, they turn orange in color because of all the orange shrimps that they ate over time!

Our Lonesome Dove Neighbor

We have this one dove that regularly sits in an electrical wire that feeds our neighborhoods electricity. We see her regularly there, and also moves from tree to tree. So far I never see any company that she was with around. She seem to be living alone nearby, in one of the neighboring tree. Aside from wild squirrels and house cats and dogs that we see all around, this lonesome dove is definitely living in the area as well.

I love the springtime, its been months, and its finally here! Many of us (definitely not the skiers and snowboarders) are hibernating and refraining from doing any yard and outdoor activities all winter long. Coffee, coffee, coffee.....for some people, a day always starts with coffee! So where do you stand in this coffee statistics?

When I was younger I hardly drink any coffee at all. My family, parents and grandparents, use the Nescafe instant coffee, we just normally just add hot water, sugar, and powdered milk, and its good to go. The younger ones, we when we were young, just had either hot choco, milk, or juice for breakfast.

Nowadays, I like having a cup of coffee to start the morning. Its good to have a nice warm coffee when I wake up... My hubby used to brew his coffee, but i introduced instant coffee to him, and he doesnt seem to mind, actually he likes the taste of instant coffee too. As a creamier, we just use a little pour of fresh milk with it.

I like the coffee at Starbucks too, but we dont do that on a daily basis because the price is not cheap to get addicted too specially if there is a bunch of family members! Buying a whole jar of instant coffee that will last for weeks for the same price makes more sense for a budget conscious family.

Just few weeks ago, i heard in the weather news that California overall only accumulated around sixty (60) percent rain compare to normal average as far as rain and snow. At that time, it was hard to imagine that there are more rainy days since winter time is almost coming to an end and spring time is coming up. But these past few days have been absolutely wet. Day after day of rain, and lots of snowflakes are falling in the high sierras and as well as in the foothills, the weather definitely dominates the telivision news. In a Saturday morning, we usually dont have a lot of things plans ahead, just a relaxing getaway in bed, sleeping and snooring, probably.

If I have to mention one of the things that I truly enjoy doing, it is being outside in our garden! Me and my hubby are avid gardeners, we enjoy growing different variety of flowers, fruit trees, vegetables, and all types of other plants. It is amazing to witness a simple seed turn into a tall plant and can produce beautiful flowers or delicious fruits.

Aside from our ground garden, we also plant several different variety of flowers in garden planters and put them in the deck or staircase to add touch and curb appeal to our outdoor space. One of best thing i like about using decorative planter is that it serves as its own decor when the plants sleep during the winter time.

I usually choose planters that works really well with our existing home exterior like the color of the paint and other existing accessories.

Jaggling With Printers

When we got our first all-in-one printer years ago, i really like, i still do. Love the different functionalities that comes with it. It can print, copy, fax. I dont use it as often as Id like to because it is setup away from my computer. Before we got the all-in-one printer, we had the Deskjet printer that also print black and white and colored, and thats the one that Ive been using and placed in my work table. Although our Deskjet cannot do everything that i needed to do, it does suffice my need to print most of my black and white printings that consist 99 percent of my printing works. Thats why when the ink for the Deskjet printer went on sale, we bought quite a few back-up inks. Then my hubby bought a digital camera that came with another all-in-one printer, which he gave to me recently. Unfortunately, I cannot use it yet because I have some more back-up or spare deskjet inks that i need to consume first before buying another type of ink for different printer.
