My Skincare Routine

One thing I’ve noticed in my 50s is that my skin has definitely changed. I’ve found that my skin is drier than it used to be, a little more sensitive, and doesn’t bounce back quite as quickly after late nights, stress, or too much sun. Fine lines and texture are just part of the process, but I’ve learned that consistency makes a big difference.

In my younger years, I focused more on treating breakouts and hyperpigmentation, but now hydration, skin barrier support and sun protection are my priorities.

I’ve simplified my routine a lot over the years and pay more attention to ingredients that support aging skin, like peptides, vitamin C, retinol, and moisturizers that help keep my skin from feeling dry or tight.

I also think skincare in your 50s is less about perfection and more about taking care of yourself in a way that feels sustainable and realistic.

Over the years, I’ve tested a lot of skincare products, but there are a few brands I consistently come back to. I’ve been using Colleen Rothschild products for over 10 years now, and they’ve honestly been staples in my routine through so many different seasons of life and skin changes. I know that skincare is unique to each individual and the products that one person swears by may not work for another.

In today’s post, I’m going to share with you my tried and true skincare favorites and a few new products I’ve introduced into my beauty routine lately, including the popular red light therapy mask that I have a discount code for : HONEYCB for 10% off

My Skincare Routine

BUT FIRST, Dermaplane

I sometimes forget to do this, but I dermaplaned my face last week and it made such a big difference! Dermaplaning is basically shaving your face and it removes all that peach fuzz and exfoliates your skin by removing dead skin cells revealing fresh, brighter skin and helps with cell turnover.

I do swear by a lighted dermaplane razor – it helps you see so much better while you’re using it. The one I have is from Amazon and a few years old, so they have a new version now.

It’s always incredible so see all that peach fuzz come off your skin and it leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth. Then, your skincare absorbs better and your makeup looks more flawless.

Cleanser

I have several cleansers that I rotate between depending on how my skin feels.

Radiant Cleansing Balm – one of my ride or die products that glides on and dissolves into a luxurious oil that removes impurities and leaves skin feeling soft and supple. I feel like I’m in a spa when I use it.

You can see I was scraping the bottom, so well loved!

So satisfying to open a fresh tub. I went ahead and got the jumbo size since I always reorder.

Purifying Cleanser – from Colleen’s Gentle & Clear line that’s designed for blemish prone, sensitive, and reactive skin. I initially bought it for my teen son, but ended up liking it so much that I use it myself too. The Purifying Cleanser combines the anti-inflammatory power of micro silver and charcoal to help reduce and prevent skin imperfections. It lifts impurities and unclogs pores, leaving my face feeling soft and clean.

I usually keep this on my bathtub and wash my face night there, so all the water drips into the tub instead of all over the counter.

While not technically a cleanser, I also really like the Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Pads. You use these after cleansing as an additional step to physically sweep away dry skin, reducing the appearance of dullness, for a brighter and renewed complexion.

First, use the woven textured side over your face and neck in a circular motion. Next, use the smooth side for one final sweep to clear any dislodged skin, for a smooth and clean finish. I really like these if my skin starts getting clogged from my workouts and I also use them on my chest.

Last year, I discovered the Clean Skin Club Towelettes and really like using them. These are awesome because you use them to dry your face as opposed to using your bath towel that likely isn’t washed daily.

When you dry your face with the Clean Skin Club towel, your face isn’t exposed to that bacteria.

I LOVE these! I use them to pat my face dry, then also use them while applying my makeup. Anything I need to wipe off goes onto the towel, and then I can fold it up and wipe down my wet sink with it.

The towels are ultra soft, 100% USDA bio-based (no chemicals), dermatologist tested and approved, vegan and climate pledge friendly.

Serum

I always use the Vitamin C Brightening Serum in the morning after cleansing. It contains stabilized Vitamin C (THD Ascorbate) and the workhorse antioxidant Niacinamide, along with other powerful antioxidants. This blend helps improve the appearance of dark spots, smooths uneven skin texture, and brightens dullness while defending against the impact of environmental aggressors. 

My skin is more radiant and even toned since I started using and my hyperpigmentation on my cheeks has visibly diminished.

Other serums I may use as needed, but not necessarily everyday.

Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum – a gentle daily exfoliating treatment that helps improve skin texture, tone, fine lines, dark spots, and clogged pores by promoting healthy cellular turnover.

I swear by using the Vitamin C in the morning and then the Mandelic Acid Serum at night which made a huge difference in the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. After using that combo for so long, the dark spots are barely there.

Age Renewal Super Serum – This serum fights six signs of aging : texture, dehydration, elasticity, fine lines, radiance and tone. It’s infused with more than 20 potent ingredients including peptides, collagen boosters, amino acids, vitamins and plant extracts. Apply a few drops all over your face, not forgetting your neck.

Hyaluronic Serum It provides superior moisture-binding hydration to help prevent transepidermal water loss “TEWL” (the amount of water that passively evaporates through skin due). TWEL can be triggered by certain skin conditions and also dry weather, spending time indoor with dry air conditioners and heaters, or overwashing with harsh soaps.

This Hyaluronic Serum has a thin, silky consistency, and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or oily. It quickly absorbs and has no noticeable scent. You can apply it morning and night after cleansing and before moisturizer.

EYE Treatment

The delicate skin around the eyes needs special care to maintain its elasticity and brightness. The Retinol Supreme Eye Serum has retinol and vitamin C help revitalize the delicate skin around the eyes. It’s very gentle and a little goes a long way. 

I like how it has a metal applicator that glides along your under eye with a cooling feel. Then, you can use your ring finger to gently tap the product into the skin.

Moisturizer

The Extreme Recovery Cream works wonders for improving your stressed out skin while providing high levels of continuous moisture. In the winter especially, I notice that my skin is dry and needs high moisture. The Extreme Recovery Creme is one of my all-time faves since it’s very hydrating and moisturizing with a thicker consistency. Although I have combination skin, this rich creme does wonders for it and doesn’t make it feel greasy or oily. It also doesn’t break out my skin.

I often use the Face Oil No. 9  after or with the Extreme Recovery Creme (blending them together) and find that my face makeup goes on much smoother and looks more luminous and not cakey or flakey. Just a couple drops of the face oil is all you likely need.

Two of Colleen’s products I like for extra moisture are:

Moisture Veil Emulsion – Lightweight yet deeply hydrating moisturizer that helps lock in moisture without feeling heavy on the skin. It gives a radiant finish under makeup and recently won the 2026 Beauty Shortlist Awards! Also recently won the 2026 Beauty Shortlist Awards!

Intense Hydrating Mask – This is great for deep hydration for dry, dehydrated, or stressed skin. You can use it as a mask and wipe off after applying and leaving it for about 10 minutes, but I like to sleep in it. I wake up with plump, soft skin and fine lines diminished.

Sunscreen

It’s definitely recommended to use a broad spectrum SPF to protect your skin from damaging UVA and UVB rays, even in the winter.  And don’t forget to give your hands some love too.  Opinions differ on which step you should apply sunscreen, but Colleen and I agree, it’s the last step before makeup.

Colleen used to have a sunscreen that I really liked, but it’s been discontinued.

Red Light Therapy

I’ve heard so much about those red light therapy masks, even my mom has been raving about them! I didn’t think much of it, except that people look so funny wearing them!

Then, Current Body offered to send me one without any obligation, but they did give me a discount code to share HONEYCB for 10% off, so of course I wanted to try it.

The main reason I was interested is because I still have scars on my eyelid from my blepharoplasty procedure.

But the benefits are supposed to be amazing for reducing the visible signs of aging with firmer, brighter and smoother skin in just 4 weeks.

*I haven’t used it consistently enough to give my full, honest opinion about how it’s worked for me, but I will report back soon! I have to keep it out on my nightstand so I remember to use it!

Blemishes

Perimenopause and pimples: proof that life is not fair! It’s sad that I had to use the Mighty Patches a couple of weeks ago, but they work! I had the biggest, ugliest zit right at the top of my left cheek.

You put the Mighty Patch on at night and it draws all the gunk out and you wake up with a visibly reduced pimple! Covering it also helps you not mess with it, which we all know only makes it worse.

One more thing I wanted to mention is body care. I apply lotion to my whole body after every shower, regardless of the season.

I swear by good ol’ Curel lotion for a basic moisturizer that doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or greasy. It has barely any scent and is such a budget friendly price. I’ve used it for decades.

But, this year I started trying some other lotions and I’ve really felt pampered! Such a small thing, but applying a more luxurious lotion with a lovely scent can be a little joy in life.

The Sol De Janeiro Limited Edition Cheirosa 71 Shimmering Body Cream is so rich with a deliciously sexy sent and some shimmer.

I like the Saltair Vanilla Body Butter and Sol de Janiero for day.

It’s has a light vanilla scent and a comes in a large 10-ounce jar.

I didn’t want to gate keep this special body cream, but I feel guilty even sharing it because it’s ridiculously expensive and was originally gifted to me.

To replenish it, I only buy it when it’s on sale and you can often find it on QVC but not the Elemis website.

I was looking online to see what exactly makes this cream so wonderful and it said that its “advanced formula has been specially designed to target visible signs of aging on the body, to firm the look of skin, and help restore hydration from head to toe.” Firm me up, baby!

It’s so silky with a lovely gel cream consistency and even Elliott has commented how soft my skin is when I use it. It also has a beautiful rose/mimosa scent but not totally like a rose – I don’t usually care for that scent, but this scent I love!

I use this cream at night before bed and it is just divine!

Cut Phase : Weeks 6 & 7

After spending the past nine focused on building muscle, I officially started my cut 8 weeks ago! A cut phase is where all the work you’ve put into building muscle starts to show. It’s the phase where you intentionally create a calorie deficit so your body taps into stored fat for energy while doing everything you can to maintain the muscle you’ve built.

I’ve been really ready for this phase, which you may have read about here. You can catch up on my previous fitness updates here.

What My Macros Look Like Now

In a cut, you’re eating slightly less than your body needs to maintain its current weight. This deficit is what drives fat loss. But the key is not to drastically slash calories. You still need enough fuel to : 1) support your workouts, 2) maintain muscle and, 3) keep your energy, mood and hormones in a good place.

At the end of my build, I was eating in a calorie surplus with one high carb day:

Previous (Build Phase)

• 2,370 calories
• 300g carbs
• 135g protein
• 70g fat

High Carb Day

• 2,445 calories
• 340g carbs
• 125g protein
• 65g fat

For this cut, my calories and macros lowered and there was no high carb day, until Weeks 6 & 7. Having a “high day” bumps up my carbs and gives my metabolism a boost. It helps restore glycogen and also lowers stress levels, along with adding in a psychological component where I look forward to having a day with more food, which makes the rest of the week more doable.

Cut (Week 6)

• Calories: 1,935
• Carbs: 225g
• Protein: 135g
• Fat: 55g

Cut (Week 7)

• Calories: 1,590
• Carbs: 150g
• Protein: 135g
• Fat: 50g

High Day

• Calories: 1,660
• Carbs: 200g
• Protein: 125g
• Fat: 40g

Week 6 is where I started feeling hungrier. It’s not terrible, but it’s less food and calories than I’ve been used to eating, so I feel it.

I’ve also started wanting to change up what I eat after eating the same thing on repeat for months.

I still love my oatmeal, egg scramble and taco bowl, but I added in a beautiful, colorful and hearty salad that I’ve been loving. I’m also eating more green beans and had pasta on my high carb day.

The salad is a mix of three kinds of greens (spinach, romaine and arugula) with grilled chicken, sweet potato, goat cheese, almonds, avocado, strawberries and sugar/fat free poppy seed dressing. After I made this, I’ve been craving it day after day! So yummy!

For my current goals, the ratios are:

• spinach – 80g
• romain – 50g
• arugula – 20g
• chicken breast – 130g
• sweet potato – 70g
• strawberries – 70g
• avocado – 40g
• goat cheese – 15g
• almonds- 5g
• sugar/fat free poppy seed dressing – 35g

Elliott and I went out to brunch after church one day and that meal was delicious! I tried to track the meal and stay close to my macros, but it’s harder when you eat out. I estimated that I was over about 300 calories that day.

Also, I ended up feeling so uncomfortably full a few hours after that meal and almost sick to my stomach. I think I overate and when you’re not used to eating that much food with lots of extra fat, it messes with your tummy. I was fine by the end of the day, but probably should have had half the meal or the whole sandwich and less brussels.

I count it all as a learning experience and use it to make better choices going forward.

I also had Ali-Shaun’s birthday party and a Kentucky Derby party during weeks 6 & 7, but didn’t eat at either.

Ali-Shaun’s party was at a restaurant and we all stood around mingling- I just ordered a club soda. It doesn’t bother me not to drink and I feel excellent the next day. I love getting good sleep and waking up without any headache.

At the Derby party, I brought Rhonda’s famous Chocolate Chip Cookies and of course, they were a big hit. But, I didn’t have any.

Mindset

I think the reason I’m able to stick to my calories and macros and not indulge is because I’m always thinking of what will bring me closer to my goals and what will take me further away. I have a very solid vision for how I want to live and look and feel and often the cookies just don’t seem worth it.

That’s not to say that you can’t eat sweets or enjoy dessert, but I’m at a point where I’m probably weeks away from being in the best shape of my life and I’m pretty laser focused.

And, I really like the meals I eat, and I enjoy my coffee so it’s doesn’t feel like deprivation.

Vlog : What I Eat in a Cut

Training + Cardio Changes

My strength training is staying the same. I’m still lifting four days a week and I detailed those workouts for you here.

I’m also doing three MISS sessions (moderate intensity steady state) for 25 minutes each and one 20-minute HIIT session. For the HITT session, I do sprint intervals where I run on the treadmill all out effort for 30 seconds, then recover at a fast walk for 1:30 minutes. I do that six times, which I like because it goes fast!

I’m still aiming for 10,000 steps a day, drinking about 100 ounces of water, and staying consistent with my strength training.

I had run out of my Fit Peptide that I love to put in my morning water and I’m so glad to have it back again. I love the taste and it definitely gives me a little pep for my walk and morning workout.

I also still add 5 mg of creatine to my water too.

Elliott and I love to go on walks together and it’s good for our relationship.

I keep a written log of everything and I love being able to look back at my progress over the months.

Pro Tip : Prep in Advance

One thing that really helps set each day up for success is planning the night before. That way, I’m not scrambling the next day to figure out what to eat and how it’s going to fit into my plan.

Every evening, my daughter and I play outside together, usually before dinner. We come inside and eat dinner around 6:30. By 7:30, I’m back in the kitchen tidying up, filling my water for the next day and looking over my meal plan – prepping anything that I want to have ready for the next day.

By 8:00 p.m., I’m wiped for the day! I like to end the night watching a little t.v., sometimes with a decaf coffee as a wind down treat. I’m usually helping getting my daughter get ready for bed by 8:30 and in bed by 9:00 p.m.

But, I wake up (usually before) my lights come on at 5:00 a.m.

Week 6 & 7 Results

I started week 6 at 110.4 lbs and ended week 7 at 107.6.

And I always like to look back and see where it all started. So wild how our bodies can transform. There’s only 3 pounds weight difference, yet a much different body composition.

What’s Next?!

I’m so close to really getting in the best shape of my life. I think I’ll be in this cut for about another month, aiming to get to about 103-104 on the scale. I’m kind of guessing there, but I’ll be sure to keep you posted along the way.

I’m LOVING seeing the results of all my hard work paying off and it truly is my lifestyle now. I love waking up feeling good in my body, strong and confident. I love having energy, but I will say that I’m pretty wiped by the end of the day! I get up early and need to go to bed early!

I also have two weekend trips coming up, so I’ll have to be mindful about what I eat, while still enjoying being on vacay.

This top is definitely designed for low impact activities, more yoga style. It’s not overly supportive if you’re needing that. but it is darling.

I’m typically an XS in active sets like this, but sized up to a small and feel I could’ve even gotten a medium, so definitely size up.

The lighter pink set is the same brand as the yellow, but comes with leggings. Again, I recommend sizing up because it definitely runs small.

I got my true size, and think I could’ve gone up to a small. If you’re in between sizes, I’d go up.

Reviewing My April Intentions

But first, let’s take a look back at my April Intentions and see how I did with those.

1. Showing Up Fully for My Health Coaching Clients

I’m so thankful to be venturing into this new career of health and wellness coaching. Sometimes I can’t even believe this is actually happening right now! A lot had to happen to get me to this point: I had to research courses, select one and study for months, and take and pass the exam (along with getting a CPR certification). Then, I had to research and build my coaching program, set up a stan store, figure out how to take payment and actually get clients!

It’s been a big learning process, but it’s all coming together one step at a time.

I’m so thankful for the wonderful women that are working with me. Those coaching sessions are very fulfilling and rewarding and I hope to do more in the future.

I’m especially loving the macro coaching because it helps women who want to achieve fitness goals get real results.

In a one-on-one session, I calculate your calories and macros based on your goals, lifestyle, and training, then walk you through exactly how to track (using MyFitnessPal). You can choose a one-time session for a clear starting point, or continue with ongoing check-ins for accountability, adjustments, and support as your body and goals evolve.

2. Locking In on My Cut

I’ve completed 6 weeks of a cut where I’m working on losing body fat while keeping the muscle I spent nine months building. I feel like all the months of hard work is culminating in this cut and I’m so.close to the goal I set out to achieve in the beginning of 2025!

I’m thankful that I’ve fallen in love with the process, made new friends in the gym, and have created a new, healthier lifestyle. I’m feeling strong and confident and that’s saying something since I’m 51 now!

I’ve been posting fitness updates here on my blog and also on my YouTube channel if you want to see exactly what I’m doing to reach my fitness goals.

3. Being Intentional with My Time at Home

This is a big one for me with prioritizing my time with my kids. I’m grateful my daughter still loves to spend time with me and we have lots of one-on-one time together. And with my teen son, I’m always on the lookout for those little moments that add up.

May Intentions

Support My Family During Transition | Elliott Moves In!

May is a big month for us. As you may know, I’m engaged to a wonderful man and our wedding will take place in November. He and his 19 year-old daughter live about 45 minutes from us, but he’s working on moving in and will be fully moved in by the end of May!

It’s such a big change that we’ve been preparing for for months. Elliott has been slowly bringing things over, but most of his things are garage items like tools, automotive things, power washer, air compressor, garden supplies, etc. Last weekend we went through all of those things, decluttered and got them all organized and put away. Now, he’s just got the rest of his clothes, plants, and Abbi’s things to move. The rest isn’t much since he lives so minimally and he’ll be donating or selling.

Because we’ve been together for over 3 years, my kids have gotten to know him and I’ve also gotten closer to his daughter.

I’m SO excited to finally all be together (and I know he’s tired of going back and forth!), but we also know that a transition like this will not be without it’s messy moments. So, I’m just trying to set realistic expectations, be flexible! and take care of our kids’ and each other if we see any signs that anyone is struggling with the change.

Make Abbi’s Graduation Special

Elliott’s daughter graduates from high school at the end of the month and it’s such a special occasion. She’s a beautiful, amazing miracle child who has thrived since overcoming being born at 24 weeks and living with high functioning autism. She has so many gifts and talents and graduating high school is a big deal. Most of their family will be coming into town to celebrate her and this milestone in her life.

I hope Abbi feels all the love and knows how special she is. She’s very excited to be going to Europe for a month after graduation with her German class. When she gets home, she’ll live with us and continue her education with a program designed to help teens with special needs.

We’ve already started making her room her own, but it will be nice to finally have all her things here so she can feel at home.

Grow In My Faith

I’ve mentioned before that Elliott and I have been going to church regularly, and I wanted to incorporate more time in the Word to my morning time. I need to be more intentional about that. We’ve also made a two-year commitment to give back to the church to help support all the good they do in the world. We feel really good about that, even though it is a stretch of faith.

Mother/Son Trip

One of the things I look forward to most all year is our annual mother/son trip. This year, James and I are heading to Denver and I can’t wait! We’ll be there for 3 days, long enough to see some sights and catch a baseball game. He’s 16 now!

My daughter and I just booked our mother/daughter trip (Just the G’s:) to Lost Pines, but that won’t happen until July.

Continue On My Cut Journey

I am excited to see where I end up at the end of May on my fitness progress. I think I’ll be in a GREAT place if I stay locked in and committed. Of course, we’ll be eating out a ton in Denver, and I’m going to enjoy that without going overboard.

I have been eating the same thing on repeat and want to change it up a little bit. I’ll be adding in some salads with protein to start and probably incorporate more seafood.

Hair Change??

The last one is on the beauty front. I’ve been growing out my hair and it’s gotten pretty long.

I have a hair appointment the week of graduation and am considering going shorter and also adding a bit more highlights, while still keeping it brunette overall. I think the highlights will be nice and bright for summer.

I’ve been thinking about the haircut simply because it’s getting hotter here and shorter hair always seems easier to manage and style. I guess need to decide how long I want my hair for our wedding in November before chopping it too short!

I think the Nutrafol may have helped my hair and I also use the K18 Hair Mask. I’ve gotten so many DMs asking if I have extensions in and I do not.

I do eat healthy/low sugar, 135g protein a day, drink lots of water and take multivitamins. I’m sure all of that helps.

I really don’t think I’ll ever get extensions again because for me, the cons outweighed the pros. The main thing that made me take them out last summer was wanting to be able to swim with my daughter without fear of getting my hair wet and having to wash it, which is a huge pain with extensions. It takes forever to wash well and then dry.

Cut Phase : Weeks 4 & 5

After spending the past nine months in a lean build focused on building muscle, I officially started my cut three weeks ago! A cut phase is where all the work you’ve put into building muscle starts to show. It’s the phase where you intentionally create a calorie deficit so your body taps into stored fat for energy while doing everything you can to maintain the muscle you’ve built.

I’ve been really ready for this phase, which you may have read about here.

What My Macros Look Like Now

In a cut, you’re eating slightly less than your body needs to maintain its current weight. This deficit is what drives fat loss. But the key is not to drastically slash calories. You still need enough fuel to : 1) support your workouts, 2) maintain muscle and, 3) keep your energy, mood and hormones in a good place.

At the end of my build, I was eating in a calorie surplus with one high carb day:

Previous (Build Phase)

• 2,370 calories
• 300g carbs
• 135g protein
• 70g fat

High Carb Day

• 2,445 calories
• 340g carbs
• 125g protein
• 65g fat

For this cut, my calories and macros lowered and there’s no more high carb day:

Cut (Week 1 & 2)

• Calories: 2,125
• Carbs: 250g
• Protein: 135g
• Fat: 65g

Cut (Week 3)

• Calories: 1,935
• Carbs: 225g
• Protein: 135g
• Fat: 55g

Cut (Weeks 4 & 5)

• Calories: 1,790
• Carbs: 200g
• Protein: 135g
• Fat: 50g

It’s still plenty of food for me and I feel satisfied. I’m actually still eating the pretty much the same foods, just less carbs and fat. You can check out this what I eat in a day post for more detailed info. It also explains why I eat many of the same things on repeat and don’t get tired of it.

Training + Cardio Changes

My strength training is staying the same. I’m still lifting four days a week and I detailed those workouts for you here.

For weeks 3 & 4, I did three MISS sessions (moderate intensity steady state) for 25 minutes each and one 20-minute HIIT session. That’s an

I’m still aiming for 10,000 steps a day, drinking about 100 ounces of water, and staying consistent with my strength training.

I keep a written log of everything and I love being able to look back at my progress over the months.

Week 3-4 Results

I started week 4 at 112.2 lbs and ended week 5 at 110.4.

I’ve been sticking very closely to my calories and macros. One day we went out to eat for lunch at a Mexican restaurant and I tried my best to order what would fit my macros the best. When I was choosing what to eat, I logged different things in MyFitnessPal and was shocked at how high calories and macros are on most things.

I ended up ordering the grilled redfish and it was really good!

I also had two birthday parties to attend and chose to eat at home and not indulge so I could stay on track. I’m glad I made those choices because it just wasn’t worth it to me. I’ve been working so hard for over a year and now is the time to really lock in and reveal that hard work!

No cupcakes for me . . .

and no alcohol. It’s not hard for me to avoid drinking since I don’t really like how it makes me feel.

But dessert? That’s what I’d prefer over wine. No cake for me right now although I LOVE chocolate and this one looked pretty good!

Check-In Photos

I like to share where I started compared to now. It’s really incredible how we can transform our bodies over time. But, the changes are small in the day-to-day and that’s why I encourage you to take progress photos of your own fitness journey. So you can look back and amaze yourself.

I also think it’s wild that my weight is nearly the same in both photos, it’s just my body composition has changed.

Pro Tip : Prep in Advance

One thing that really helps set each day up for success is planning the night before. That way, I’m not scrambling the next day to figure out what to eat and how it’s going to fit into my plan.

Every evening, my daughter and I play outside together, usually before dinner. We come inside and eat dinner around 6:30. By 7:30, I’m back in the kitchen tidying up, filling my water for the next day and looking over my meal plan – prepping anything that I want to have ready for the next day.

By 8:00 p.m., I’m wiped for the day! I like to end the night watching a little t.v., sometimes with a decaf coffee as a wind down treat. I’m usually helping getting my daughter get ready for bed by 8:30 and in bed by 9:00 p.m.

But, I wake up (usually before) my lights come on at 5:00 a.m.

Locking In

I’m really seeing the consistency pay off now. It’s the boring daily grind that multiplies over time and I really think that Week 6 is where the magic happens in that you really start to see a change after being at it for 6 weeks.

We have Ali-Shaun’s couples birthday party this Friday and a pool party on Saturday and I’m so looking forward to hanging out with everyone. But, I’ll still stick to my plan while enjoying everyone’s company. I still haven’t decided if I’ll have a drink or not, I can fit it in my macros so I’ll just see how I feel when the time comes.
