Traffic Warden Hand Signals – Stop

To stop vehicles coming from front, I think the Traffic Warden only need to rise his right arm raised with the plam of their hand in a flat shape with the fingers pointing to the sky.

Hong Kong Traffic Warden (交通督導員, aka 黃腳立) aid Hong Kong Police Force for the following functions:

(a) the enforcement of the Fixed Penalty (Traffic Contraventions) Ordinance;
(b) the control and regulation of vehicular traffic and pedestrians, whether on a road or not, and any functions incidental to, or connected with, the control and regulation of such traffic or pedestrians, which are normally undertaken by the Police Force; and
(c) any other functions which may be conferred on them by or under this or any other Ordinance.

Since 2002, Project Dance has been presenting open air dance concerts in world’s major cities including New York City, Los Angeles, Sydney, Atlanta, Hong Kong, and Toronto. Singapore, London, South Africa and Houston are in future plans.

Dancers, teachers, choreographers, students and over 300 volunteers make these annual events possible.

Windows 7 Hong Kong Consumer Launch

Hong Kong – 24 Oct., 2009 : Microsoft Hong Kong official launch Window 7 today. More than 300 peoples wait overnight to get one of 400 sets of Windows 7 English Ultimate Edition for HK$377 (about USD48). Too bad that it is only 32-bit and not-for-resale. Also, the package of the Utimate version is different from that of the Windows 7 retail box set.

Moreover, the first participant receive a free autographed copy of the “Windows 7 Ultimate Edition” by Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft.

The one who wear sun-glass (Mr. Chan) was the first which queue 1 day advance the event. He also the first one to get Windows Vista when Hong Kong Launch.

What does Meme mean?

A “meme” is commonly known in the web as some kind of content that spreads fast and draws everyone’s attention.

The term itself was created by Richard Dawkins and published in his book “The Selfish Gene” in 1976. It refers to a specific fragment of culture or behavior that’s multiplied between individuals, similarly to what happens with genes in the field of biology.

We’ve obviously used the name in a free interpretation of it’s original scientific meaning, however the essence of the idea remains the same.

Meme from Yahoo! hopes to be an efficient “memeplex”. In other words, somewhere to multiply and distribute fragments of information. These fragments, or “memes”, travel from one person to another and survive through their own merits or circumstances. They evolve, suffer mutations and some may even get to be very famous.

Memes have always run loose through the internet, surviving all kinds of hazards: heavy rain, unstable internet connections, heat waves or packed inboxes. We hope that here they will find a warm environment where they can live and reproduce freely.

HONG KONG : 9 September, 2009 – the Hong Kong Observatory issued the public storm standby signal 1 as Tropical Storm Mujigae (熱帶風暴彩虹) was located within 800 km (500 mi) of Hong Kong.Early the next day the standby signal was replaced with the storm signal number 3 which meant that strong winds were expected to affect the provence. Signal 3 stayed in force for 13 hours until it was replaced with the Storm Signal 1, before the warnings were canceled two hours later.
