It That Celebrities Look Skinny In Red Carpet Photos?

Your average celebrity ain't all that! They tend to be short and have proper child-bearing hips just like the rest of

be so slimly terrific? More importantly, how can we do that?!

The secret is the pose.
Never mind the fact that they starve themselves a week before the event,
get spray tanned by professionals and wear gut-sucking Spanx.
Ok, back to the pose. Here are
some secrets to appearing thinner in photos.
Practice these tips in front of a mirror, but lock your doors first so
your neighbors won’t catch you appearing
vain.

Tip No. 1: Partially turn sideways to the camera,
one foot in front of the other. Point
your toe to the camera and put your weight on your back foot.

Tip No. 2: Lean your head slightly forward to minimize any
appearance of the dreaded
double chin.

Tip No. 3: Keep arms slightly away from the body. This
helps upper arm flab from flattening out much like thighs do when one sits on a
couch.

Tip No. 4: Hold shoulders back and keep chest out gently
sucking the stomach in. Be careful not
to suck stomach so far in that your ribs show, causing those who later see the
photo to cluck to themselves in a bemused, sing-song voice, "she's sucking
i-in."

Tip No. 5: If you can get away without looking like
a cover girl wannabe, try the “look away“ trick. To do this, look away from the camera and then
turn back to it. Breaking into a smile
just before the camera clicks, your smile will look fresh, not frozen. This trick takes practice so lock the doors
and practice. When taking a photo, don’t
let the photographer snap the picture from below. This will add 20-50 pounds to
the first 10 pounds annoyingly added by the camera.

Use objects you are holding to your
advantage by placing them in front of parts you prefer to hide. A purse, hat or corsage in front of your belly
or a jacket slung over one shoulder works well.

Spanx, the modern version of the corset are
famous for making women all over the world appear 10 pounds thinner. Spray tans will make you look and feel
skinnier but they tend to stink.

Try
adding mineral make-up to moisturizer for a quick FAKE tanning lotion. Remember to mix well before applying.

A complete outfit of any color, not just
black, will make you look thinner. Wearing an entire outfit of just one color
will do the trick, whether it’s white, beige, brown, blue or red. An outfit in one color tends to elongate your
figure. Avoid outfits in pink unless you are five years old or younger.

something to do for a few minutes to get their mind off of the problem. A person
could take a walk, listen to some music, read the newspaper or do an activity
that will give them a fresh perspective on things.

When facing a current or upcoming task at your job that
overwhelms you with a lot of anxiety, divide the task into a series of smaller
steps and then complete each of the smaller tasks one at a time. Completing
these smaller tasks will make the stress more manageable and increases your
chances of success.

Challenge your negative thinking with positive statements
and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make you fearful or
depressed, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will
maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, you are afraid that if you
do not get that job promotion then you will be stuck at your job forever. This
depresses you, however your thinking in this situation is unrealistic. The fact
of the matter is that there all are kinds of jobs available and just because you
don’t get this job promotion doesn’t mean that you will never get one. In
addition, people change jobs all the time, and you always have that option of
going elsewhere if you are unhappy at your present location.

Remember that no one can predict the future with one
hundred percent certainty. Even if the thing that you feared does happen there
are circumstances and factors that you can’t predict which can be used to your
advantage. For instance, you are at your place of work and you miss the deadline
for a project you have been working on for the last few months. Everything you
feared is coming true. Suddenly, your boss comes to your office and tells you
that the deadline is extended and that he forgot to tell you the day before.
This unknown factor changes everything. Remember: We may be ninety-nine percent
correct in predicting the future, but all it takes is for that one percent to
make a world of difference.

In dealing with your anxieties at your entertainment job,
learn to take it one day at a time. While the consequences of a particular fear
may seem real, there are usually other factors that cannot be anticipated and
can affect the results of any situation. Get all of the facts of the situation
and use them to your advantage.

Our anxieties and stresses can be difficult to manage in
the entertainment industry. The more control you have over your stresses and
anxieties, the better off you will be in the long run.

Where have I been, you ask? Did I fly off to a small Caribbean island again, only to return to rub it in? Did my book project or adorable distraction eat me alive again? For once, no. I have actually been out climbing another (slightly smaller) culinary Mount Everest for you, and I have returned bearing not one, but two recipes.
I’ve been wanting to make potato knish almost as long as I’ve had this site. I thought I’d finally tackle it this winter, when carbs-for-warmth are the order of the day but New York up and decided to not have a winter this year and so it was a 60 degree day or never. I’m glad I went with it as knish are quintessentially old New York, brought to the Lower East Side tenements by Jewish Eastern European immigrants who knew, like most of our forefathers did, how to stretch staples into belly-filling delights.

About 23 percent of new entrepreneurs in 2010 were in the 55-to-64 age group, up from 15 percent in 1996, according to a study by the Kauffman Foundation.

Those in the 20-to-34-year-old age bracket have the lowest rate of entrepreneurial activity, the study said.
