My Last Day at College

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Mon, 06 Dec 2010 14:34:00 +0000

I am no longer Prof. of Asutosh College.

Today, I left and said good bye to my college forever after working here for 3 long years with only and only happy and funny memories !!

My total relation with my college is of 10 years !!

From year 2000 (when I joined the college as student) to 2010 (now).

My HoD and my favorite sir, Gautam Mahapatra, asked me only one question -

" যেতেই হবে ? "" Do you really have to go ? "

After all, I was his both right hand and left hand.... I know, he used to see me like his son. I had done number of mistakes, burnt PCs or other hardware damages, but he never ever used any single 'word'. He always supported me in my tests, experiments and studies.

From giving treats to sharing his own 'murii', I was always with him.

After that, he wished me " Best of Luck " and gave a smile.

Everyone in this world wishes a BOSS like him, but I actually left him.
A person who is so supportive and also a person from whom one can learn so many things. A friend and a guide.

Tears were in my eyes. Yes, my eyes were filled with tears in-front of my sir, colleague and my beloved students. There were some girls also, damm....

When I was coming back home, I don't know whether I was crying or not. It was raining quite hard. I think mother nature was clearing my eyes with her clear cold rain drops

" You have cried too much in these days.... "

I went to the 23 Pally Gurga Temple. Actually went inside the temple after 10+ years !! It was totally empty. I think she was waiting just for me. I sat on a bench for 15mins.... didn't wish or say anything to her, she knows everything.

Then I returned home.

In my teaching career, some of the Best Complements from my Students are -

" Sir, you are OUR genius sir "
" Sir, how could you find solutions for every problems "
" Sir, you teach us just like Amir Khan teaches in Taare Zameen Par "
(Do note, Amir Khan was a school teacher. I WAS a College Professor)

My Favorite Dialogs to my students are -

" Main Hoon Na "
To make them relax when they first see/read the final year projects.
" All is well "When there are very little time to complete the final year project.

যা পেয়েছি আমি তা চাইনা
যা চেয়েছি কেনো তা পাইনা |

Yesterday How I Cried

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Tue, 30 Nov 2010 05:29:00 +0000

A relationship breaking up slowly=tears song.

Lyrics:

She broke up with me a week ago,
I woke up with her in bed this morning

She broke up with me a week ago,
I woke up with her in bed this morning

Yesterday how I cried
But today I’m cryin’ even more

It’s sad that good things seldom last,
It’s a life-long play with a changing cast.

It’s sad that good things seldom last,
It’s a life-long play with a changing cast.

Yesterday how I cried
But today I’m cryin’ even more

Well it’s all messed up now
It’s time to give it up now
I do, I do
I think I’m using you
But I thought that you were using me too

Yesterday how I cried
But today I’m cryin’ even more
Even more
Even more

Proview UPS Support sucks

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Tue, 16 Sep 2008 08:42:00 +0000

I bought a New PC, New CRT Monitor and a New Proview 700VA UPS few months ago .

Just after 1 week of use, the UPS started the problem. Reboots when Power-Cut, where it should give some backup time.

As within warranty, Engg came. The engineer is just one step ahead from a illiterate person.
He changed a big IC, but no solve. Requested me for more time (weeks) to change the entire circuit board of the UPS.

Yesterday, he came again. I was not at home, I was at office. My father was at home, but he is not that computer geek, just a general user.
He changed the UPS board and when ON the PC starts. But to test, when he manually OFF the main supply to simulate power-cut, the PC totally shuts-down. But after that PC never starts. Not even from direct power-supply.

He tried to force my father to sign a doc (successful repair form) but he (father) refused.
He got angry, became rude to my father, gave lots of 'gayan' and then ran away......

Next-day, I talked to their BOSS directly. I said that your Engg burnt my SMPS and also might have some PC hardware failure which is yet to be detected.
As the SMPS is till under warranty, so I don't want anything but I want refund for my UPS. I don't want it anymore.

He started the conversation with 'tu' instate of 'aap' !!
He refuses saying a UPS can't kill a SMPS/PC. "Go whatever you want to do".
with some 'tu' 'tu' threats.....

Thinking of going to the Consumer Court.

Will post the outcome, stay tuned.

Download Captcha 2.0 for Community Builder

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Sat, 22 Mar 2008 15:05:00 +0000

The CB Team has just released version 2.0 of its Captcha plugin to the Joomlapolitans who are financially supporting us as subscribers to the documentation service. Current documentation subscribers will find that their private download area now contains 3 files: the CB 1.1 detailed documentation pdf file (144 pages – 85 figures), the CB PMS Integration document pdf file (17 pages – 15 figures) and the (just in) Captcha 2.0 plugin distribution package.

The CB Captcha 2.0 plugin is compatible with CB 1.1 (and above) installations. Installation of this plugin on prior to CB 1.1 releases will fail.

The CB Captcha 2.0 plugin took over 2 man-months of effort to complete. This effort includes research, design, coding and testing. This plugin contains the following functionality – features - characteristics:

Lightweight, compact design
Visual and audio Captcha generation
Audio Captcha generation uses dynamic stitching technique of light weight MP3 Nato phonetic files
Audio Captcha playback via nice popup media playback window
Extensive set of configurable backend parameters including:
- Image dimensions
- Image text, background and noise color
- Number of security characters to be generated in Captcha image
- Configurable character set to be used in Captcha image
- Ability to decide if audio and visual Captcha should be generated or visual only
Backend test generation based on current parameters (thus allowing website administrators to see what current parameter settings will generate in front-end)
Backend prerequisite checklist (for GD library and Freetype)
Plugin now generates image from separate php file, thus IMAGE and SOUND generation is unaffected by header garbage introduced in template or language files
Captcha security settings can be enforced in one or more (Captcha plugin backend configurable) of the following CB related processes:
- CB registration process
- CB lost password process
- CB profile emailing process
- CB contact component process (CB contact 1.1 component)
- CB login form process (with new CB login module not yet released)
Captcha plugin events added for further integration with other (future) CB plugins

As stated this plugin can be downloaded free of charge to all our financial supporters currently subscribed to the CB Documentation service. Without this group’s support, the CB Team would not be able to continue the (hopefully appreciated) development of the Community Builder suite and all the CB Team released plugins (CB Profilebook, CB Gallery, CB Autowelcome, CB Authorbot). WE thank you and hope that your example will be followed (click here to see how) by more Joomlapolitans who are enjoying CB stuff on their website projects.
