I have already been to Western Canada (Alberta to British Columbia) as well as Florida in the USA. I have also lived in Ireland and the United Kingdom my whole life (all 19 years of it) however I am aiming to live in Manitoba eventually.

However I have often been asked, out of all the countries I haven’t visited where would I like to visit most, so here is a top 10 list:

1. Sweden

2.Norway

3.Estonia

4.Finland

5.Faroe Islands

6.Germany

7.Denmark

8.Netherlands

9.Russia

10.Poland

As you can see, Scandinavian countries dominate the list, this is because I have a keen interest in Vikings and Norse Mythology.

I’ve always had a strong interest in secret military bases, conspiracy theories especially Area 51 in Nevada. After hearing stories from different people about there being some sort of underground base in Russia (someone called it a “Russian Area 51") I decided to do some research. Simply searching “Russian Area 51” on Google a range of UFO forums appear however there isn’t really anything about the place itself.

I did find out the Russian missile research facility is known as Kapustin Yar which is found near the border with Kazakhstan, the “secret underground base” is known as Zhitkur Underground Base after the town it lies near “Zhitkur”. There doesn’t seem to be much information on the base online which seems a bit peculiar, however in the Soviet days, secrets like this weren’t allowed to be spoken anywhere, even Ufologists had to keep there work hidden.

One particular story surrounding Soviet UFOs and the Zhitkur base in particular is the 1908 Tunguska event in which a large blast occured in the skies above Siberta, forestland was destroyed and radioactivity destroyed the area, leaving a dead space known as The Devil’s Graveyard. Many years passed before the area was searched, it is believed that the blast was caused by a UFO exploding and that the wreckage was taken into the hidden base for research, however no information has been disclosed.

Now there’s no proof of there being an underground base at Kasputin Yar, however the lack of online information seems strange to me, but this is Russia afterall, one of the most mysterious countries in my opinion..

This adds another country to the journey without adding too much time. So here is the new map:

Another post will follow later, where I will post smaller sections of the map to give a more in depth look at the route.

Here’s a little route I came up with:

Countries the route goes through: United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland.

The route as you can see finishes close to the spot in which it starts (with a short backtrack). This route essentially covers most of the countries (the main ones are on the route). This route actually crosses all Capital cities also, such as Paris, Copenhagen, London etc.

Although this actual trip wouldn’t be happened anytime soon, it’s a nice route for anyone wanting to plan something similar. We reached the ferry point at Horseshoe Bay and tried to navigate to the right lane, the only place I recognised was Nanaimo so we headed for there, When paying for the ticket the women commented on my Calgary Flames shirt, and even gave us Vancouver Olympics dollar coins. Then came the wait for the ferry to arrive. We pretty much stayed around the car to avoid getting lost, and then got onto the ferry. On the journey to the island we hit the top deck and saw amazing views of the Strait of Georgia. It was cool to see the small islands dotted along the strait. Once we arrived in Nanaimo we had to work out how to get to the other side of the island. With a simple map reference we followed the road around through different towns such as Port Alberni before we finally reached the T junction for Ucluelet and Tofino.

Tofino

Tofino itself was a pretty nice surfing town with beaches, forests and a harbour town. We only spent a day in Tofino, the town itself is aimed towards surfers so there was nothing interesting however the beaches where pretty scenic as were the forest areas, we also backtracked to Ucluelet and visited a few of the small stores, the locals seemed nice. After a short stay we headed onto the city of Victoria, the capital of BC.

Victoria

To reach Victoria we had to backtrack to Nanaimo and then head south. When arriving in Victoria the road layouts seemed very confusing but we eventually found the Fairmont Palliser which looked amazing. The city itself reminded me very much of London. The royal crest was featured on a number of buildings, there was even a Madame Tussauds! The waterfront was pretty amazing, full of boats and seaplanes heading to the mainland, as well as some pretty large cargo vessels. After another short stay in the city it was time to take the ferry to Vancouver.

Vancouver

On the return trip on the ferry we sat on the lower deck (mainly due to the wind on top) and got some pretty nice views from the windows. It was interesting listening to locals who apparently took the ferry to and from work on the mainland. When arriving in Vancouver it was another mission to find the hotel which in the end was in a pretty accessible location, right on the seafront near the conference centre. There was a lot of places I wanted to visit in Vancouver, mainly the Aquarium/Stanley Park. The Aquarium was pretty good, full of Marine animals, Reptiles and insects, the parks totem poles where also really interesting. We also visited Gastown and the main downtown malls which where very busy. On the final day we drove around looking for places of interest however in the end we just drove back to the airport to hand in the rental car and stayed in the terminal watching the BC Lions game on TV. Overall Vancouver was an amazing city and I would love to go back there!

So that concludes my Canadian roadtrip, hope you enjoyed the posts and videos on My Channel.

The border itself was barely noticeable as there was some construction work going on around the actual “Welcome to BC” sign so I only managed to catch a quick glimpse. The drive took a few hours and it is interesting to see the difference between the two provinces, Alberta’s large mountains slowly seemed to get lower as we departed the Rockies. Soon we arrived in the small town of Clearwater. The town itself is actually pretty modern for a small town. There was an A&W which I ate at, Dairy Queen as well as local information centres with Internet access, gift shops etc. I also visited the Wells Grey National Park and checked out the amazing waterfall and surrounding forests. I could have swore I heard the rattle of a Rattlesnake however I could not locate the source of the sound. After a day in the small town it was time to move on..
100 Mile House
Yes you read the name correctly, instead of Gold Bridge our location was actually changed to 100 Mile House, more specifically “Hills Health Ranch” at 108 Mile Ranch. Driving from Clearwater we got completely lost, instead of taking the simple road leading directly to 100 Mile House we ended up going miles south to Kamloops. This wasn’t a wasted journey as we managed to check out some Malls and soon looped back around. This area of British Columbia is pretty sweet, many small towns and farms. After a LONG drive we reached 100 Mile House. We stopped off in a few of the small town stores including a toy store in which I bought a Flames figure, a DVD store that was having a closing sale so I managed to pick up some Wrestling DVDs. We moved on 8 miles to our “ranch” which turned out to be just that, log cabins with horses outside. The town of 108 Mile Ranch was very small, and only seemed to include a large indoor building containing maybe 8 businesses, nothing special really. This town was perhaps the least interesting however going through 100 Mile House was worth it.
Whistler
The journey from 100 Mile House to Whistler was perhaps the most memorable for me. Going through the Cariboo Gold Rush area, passing towns such as Lillooet Cache Creek etc. was really interesting. In fact the plains looked more like Texas than Canada! The weather was particularly hot in this area and the long drive was made even longer because of all the sights we stopped at. Once we reached Whistler things got a little more relaxed. We located the hotel and began looking around town. Whistler has some pretty interesting activities from Snowboarding to Mountain biking however none of this interested me. The town centre’s stores are mainly catered to the sports so there was nothing I found particularly interesting. We did however venture through the walking trails and found some pretty interesting areas around the large lakes. Overall whistler was interesting however if your not into sports there’s not much to do. We soon left and headed for our next destination on Vancouver Island, Tofino.

The first day in Calgary was dull as I arrived at 8:30pm, I quickly walked around the downtown area and then bought a hot dog from one of the foreign vendors. I noticed a lot of foreigners in the area and many homeless people which gave a bad impression of the city.
The second day I was surprised to see the thousands of people that had sat beside the street waiting for the parade. The parade began with numerous acts including marching bands, cheerleaders and clowns, this was all happening under the sound of Canadian country music. After watching the parade for a while I took off to check out a few Malls, the malls are similar to the UK and USA and featured various sporting good stores, entertainment etc. I then left for Banff
Banff
When driving from Calgary to Banff it is interesting to see the mountain ranges of the Rockies getting larger and larger, lakes also begin to appear in various places and the call of various birds can be heard. Driving from Calgary to Banff takes around 1.30hours on Highway 1, however the journey seems shorter as the amazing sights grab your attention. Once arriving in Banff it’s amazing to see how good of a community the little mountain town has, the locals are friendly, and the tourists flock to the various gift shops. There is many activities to do in Banff including riding the Gondola up Sulphur mountain, riding horseback, wildlife viewing and hiking, I did not see much wildlife whilst in Banff however the Gopher infested fields where fun to watch, and chipmunks also climb the highest reaches of the mountains. I managed to spot a Deer on a morning drive past the Vermilion Lakes on the outskirts of town, and a large wood toad however that was all.
Lake Louise
The drive from Banff to Lake Louise is much the same, scenic highways and high mountain ranges. Arriving in Lake Louise the sight of the lake itself is breathtaking. There is many hiking trails in the area that are extremely tiring and long winded but once you reach the top it is worth it. The views from the mountain tops are amazing and the evidence of controlled wild fires can be seen. Ground Squirrels and chipmunks are all I found in the area.
Jasper
Driving along the icefields parkway to Jasper is one of the best drives in the area, the many service stations and lakes are sure to grab your attention, especially the Bow Lake which feeds into the Bow River. Along the way I finally spotted a Black Bear along the side of the road, as we parked up to get videos and pictures others began to notice us and stopped, before long there was a long line of people waiting to view the bear! The bear itself did not seem bothered at all and was simply foraging for food. When arriving closer to Jasper a large herd of white tailed deer appeared at road side and panicked at the sight of a car. They seem to stay around the area and are fine with people taking pictures.

It's pretty cool, I don't really know anybody but my classmates seem pretty cool. I'm doing an IT Level 2 Course and it seems to be going Ok so far. One thing I am pissed about is the fact I'm being forced to do Maths even though I finished it in School, I've missed my only 2 maths lessons so far and made up excuses but I dunno how long I can do it for, I'm gonna keep pushing it however. Anyways all is well apart from that, everything is running pretty smoothly!

Also this week I got the new KISS album "Sonic Boom". I Got the Digipack that comes with a completely Re-Recorded "Kiss Klassics" CD and a Live concert recording from Last Year in Argentina, South America. The new Album is great, favorite songs are "Modern Day Delilah","Russian Roulette" "All For The Glory" and "Stand" , I really like the overall package, the "Klassics" CD is great and some of the re-recordings sound pretty good to say how long ago it was since the originals were made!

Also I got a Royal Python, so that's another Snake to the collection.

I Think that's everything, I like to keep everyone up to date with what's going on, I'm still unsure what I'll be doing after college, my course runs till July 2010, so not long to go. I want to open a business of some sort, still working out what.

So Thanks for reading guys and Have a good October 09!

Bye!

Inhabited by elves. The rich, magical landscape is filled with might and the elves themselves being a very quiet folk like to stay away from the darkness of the real world outside of Candera. The town of Candera was a very unique looking place, most of the town being hidden by great forests, and the vegetation was covering many of the beautiful homes and palaces, that the elves reside in. Wolves, squirrels, bears and raccoons are just some of the wildlife that can be found in the rich forests. The elves themselves are one with nature, they even use it to there advantage in magic, crafting such spells to protect them against the cold of the winter, or the heat of the summer. In the northern part of the town there was a grand, ancient tree known as agmar, the tree featured a winding staircase climbing all the way to it's peak, where a room was carved into the grand oak. This was the home of the high elf Falhorn, a wise elf who had lived in Candera for hundreds of years. He was filled with knowledge and young elves would often be seen visiting him for advice. Yes the elves sure where a peculiar race, but something was soon to cause a stir in the ancient forests of Candera, something evil...
On the outskirts of the forest, something evil was brewing. The orcs and trolls grew weary of the elves power and they where planning to eliminate them. Falhorn who was sat in his home atop the grand oak, felt the presence of the darkness brewing. He had visions of the ancient forest being torn down, visions of pain and suffering, and the elves screaming in pain. He knew that he could not sit back and let this happen, he rose up from his chair and spoke firmly to his guards " Guards, I would like to speak to the village" and so the guards made sure to tell everybody of Falhorn's orders, and the elves began to crowd at the bottom of the grand tree. Falhorn soon appeared and looked down at his people, he spoke loudly with fear in his voice:
" My fine elves of Candera, I have asked you to come here for a reason, evil is afoot at the outskirts of the forest. Orcs! Trolls! I have seen visions of the forest suffering and the elf race will be doomed if we do not act now, we have to save Candera and all of the magic it holds! We must stop the evil ones, go now and prepare yourselves for the battle that awaits us, go now!"
With this the elves charged off like ants scavenging for food, they each ran into there homes to prepare for the battle ahead. The sound of the foraging elves could be heard all through the village, Falhorn watched on as the village constructed barricades and seers prepared for the enemies.
Falhorn sat back in his throne, he was weak from the thought of his people suffering. He had ruled over the land of Candera for thousands of years and never had he faced such a threat. In his heart he knew the villagers couldn't protect the ancient forest from the might of the savage beasts. He needed allies to come to his aid. Falhorn eyed an object on the table at the end of the cavern. The object was the horn of a ram, donated to him by the humans. The humans donated the horn at the end of the second age, the elves had come to the aid of the humans during there own battle against the trolls. Falhorn knew the humans would come to their aid if he blew the warning signal, however being the humble man he was he was reluctant to even think of getting help, but he knew he had no choice, and his people would suffer if he didn't call for help. Falhorn slowly rose from his thrown and edged towards the horn. He touched the hard surface with his fingers and then rose it to his mouth, with one deep breath the bellowing sound was heard throughout the land. The enemies themselves were disturbed by the sound, pointing their ears to the skies as the sound echoed amongst the forest and plains.
A few miles away, Grimwynn, the noble leader of the humans was holding a council meeting with his people “So we are all agreed then we will-” Grimwynn was interrupted by the howl of the warning signal. His attention returned to his people, he addressed them with a lump in his throat.
“Well men the time has now come, darkness is brewing and we must aid our fellow elves in the battle, equip yourselves and join me at the kingdom gates”.
The men marched out of the meeting hall to prepare for the battle, Grimwynn picked up his own horn and blew a signal in reply to Falhorn. Again the sound was heard throughout the land and the enemy was beginning to become suspicious of the elves.
Falhorn heard the reply and took a sigh of relief. He stepped out onto the balcony of the ancient tree and watched as his people prepared themselves for the conflict. The builders of the village had began constructing a barricade around the village, he watched as stones were transported from the mines to the wall.
“Spy!” one of the builders roared at the top of his voice, pointing towards a shadow in the forest, beyond the builders. The silhouette charged off into the distance, however he had not got very far when the sound of hooves approached. It was Grimwynn and his army. He swooped low and grabbed the spy, throwing him onto the back of his steed. The large group of men soon reached the kingdom of Candera. The village came to a halt as the army entered. Falhorn greeted them at the foot of the ancient tree, agmar. The elven people who had been saddened at the thought of suffering were now smiling at the site of the humans coming to their aid, they too realised they could not win the battle alone.
“My dear Falhorn, It gives me great pride to be able to aid such a wise and noble man. I have seen the darkness on the edge of the forest, there is several camps to the north of the forest, we must gather all our soldiers and prepare for the onslaught.” Grimwynn said quietly to Falhorn.
“Now what shall we do with this unwise beast” Grimwynn said staring at the captured spy.
Falhorn pointed to the ancient tree Agmar. The men looked at each other confused at the thought of an unpure beast being in the ancient tree, but knew that Falhorn was smart enough to know what he was doing.
The army of men and elves stayed on guard at the edge of town as the builders continued to construct the barricade. Falhorn and Grimwynn walked with the orc spy to to Agmar. When they reached the base of the tree Falhorn began to lead the group to the large roots that sprawled out, almost tentacle like. As they got closer a trap door came into view. The door appeared to go deep into the tree's base. Falhorn opened up the door and a dimly lit passage was behind it. They entered and walked down a narrow corridor, large roots arched through the dirt walls, they soon reached the end of the corridor and a small room appeared. The room was well lit with torches hung from the walls, the room was bare apart from a large row of cells, a small table and chairs. This was the hidden prison of the elves. The cells took up the back wall and some were occupated by other orcs and unpure beings. The group walked up to an empty cell and pushed the spy into it, the door slammed shut with a noise that echoed through the underground caverns. The orc slumped in the corner, he had not said a word since captured, and he was showing no sign of changing that. Falhorn turned and pulled out a wooden chair and sat at the table, Grimwynn then sat opposite. Falhorn spoke firmly “Grimwynn, I appreciate you answering our plea, without your services I do believe Candera would be doomed and the elven race extinct, Again Thank Yo:-” Falhorn was interrupted by Grimwynn.
“ No Falhorn, you have aided my people before, I am merely repaying the favour. Now, there is no time for pleasantries, we have a battle to prepare for, with construction of the wall almost complete we should prepare further defences, Elven archer towers to be exact” Falhorn rose from his seat and beaconed Grimwynn to follow him.
The pair walked back down the corridor and out of the trap door. Falhorn guided Grimwynn deeper to the north of Candera. As they walked large silhouettes began to appear. These where the elven archer towers, the same towers used by the elves when aiding the humans. The erect towers seemed like giants staring down upon the kingdom, the framework was carved from the forests finest oak, crafted by the most skilful elven craftsmen.
Grimwynn looked at Falhorn and spoke loudly “Very fine craftsmanship, we must move them to the barricade and prepare the men for the onslaught”
Falhorn smiled and placed two fingers against his bold lips, with one firm blow he whistled loudly. Suddenly a large group of strong looking elves charged to the towers and began to pull them away, one by one the towers where dragged into the distance, and soon all towers had been moved.
Falhorn and Grimwynn knew it was time to go to the front of the kingdom and ensure everything was in order, they discussed plans whilst they strode to the men and elves awaiting orders. The large wall had been completed and now surrounded the kingdom of Candera, archer towers had been pushed against the wall, each armed with hundreds of elven and human archers. Warriors, and Cavalry stood at the base of the wall, prepared for battle. The ground began to tremble and shake beneath their feet, a foul stench was in the air, the enemy was approaching...

I Cannot say much against the PSP as the Library of games is vast, much like the PS1/2. I can even go as far to admit that the newest game I got was Battlefield:Bad Company and that was only because I got given it for free for working at a Video Game Store for a few weeks. I Own a PS3 and Wii and there not even hooked up to the TV and haven't been for almost a year.

Yet the SNES, Nintendo 64 and Playstation are Nicely sitting out on my desk ready to be played. I would rather play Super Mario World than Command And Conquer 4 Anyday..

I Think Sega really did a good thing when they stopped producing home consoles, I would hate to see them become what everyone else has become, boring FPS producing whores. So if you people are relatively new to gaming and think your next gen systems are the best thing ever, I urge you to go out and find a NES, SNES,Megadrive and play some real games.

Thank you.

You may also like the site if your into Comic Books, Sci-Fi, Action Figures or any other Nerdy stuff. So please go check that out, Also follow me on Twitter (www.twitter.com/Natonstan) and I'm also on Skype all the time, my name on there is Natonstan so Feel free to add me on there too!

Now for the update...

I said a few months back that I would be using this blog as a sort of Tech blog but I really don't see the point as there is so many of them out there on the net it would seem more like a clone! So I stayed away from that Idea, I may start doing Weekly updates on here on general stuff happening in my life, and then include stuff like my old WWE reviews and other stuff like that.

So I will try and make another post or two in July and I hope to be updating regurlarly by August!
