Jubilee activity weekend in the Lake District - 1 June 2012

Make the most of the extra long bank holiday this June with an action-packed activity weekend in the beautiful Lake District.

We have booked an entire hostel in a beautiful village in the heart of the Lake District, within easy reach of all the major sights and attractions. Fortunately the hostel is also attached to a beautiful 17th Century pub serving great food and boasting a private BBQ area for hostel quests. So you can have a few balmy evenings in the grounds enjoying good food and great company.

Activities are as follows:-

Saturday morning -

Raft building, Coniston Water - £39 pp
The idea is that all 16 guests book onto this activity as it's a brilliant way to get to know everyone and really starts the weekend off well. The 20 people who went on last years Dartmoor weekend would probably agree!

Saturday afternoon -

Riding Heavy Horses, Wicham Valley - 2 hours in the saddle £69 pp
If you love horses this is one you cannot miss out on! Riding majestic Shire horses over beaches, through meadows and stunning scenery - it doesn't get any better than that! All levels are welcome as you'll be assessed on the day and put into appropriate groups.

OR - if horses aren't your thing...

Guided walk, Coniston - £12 pp
Benefittimg from local knowledge you'll be able to get the most out of a Lake and countryside walk. We have enlisted a local tour guide who knows the area inside out and will be able to take you off the tourist trail to see the real Lake District.

Sunday morning

Canoeing - £39 pp
Back to the shores of Coniston for a morning of canoeing - and what a fantastic place to potter along than the famous waters of Coniston.

OR

Abseiling - £39 pp
If you've never done this before, don't worry you're in safe hands. We have professional instructors to take you through your paces and ensure you have a safe but exhilerating time.

If you've done the abseiling in the morning you may wish to go one step further with...

Sunday afternoon

Canyoning - £39 pp
Oh my! This one will get the adrenaline pumping. You'll make the canyons your playground as you climb, abseil, swim and jump down waterfalls. All set in stunning scenery.

OR

Guided mountain biking in the Western Lakes - £15 pp
Our fabulous local guide is also a qualified mountain bike guide - be warned, she is very fit! Be prepared for some tricky bits but all in all an amazing ride with beautiful views. Well worth the lactic acid in your legs.

OR

Guided walk, Western Lakes - £12 pp
If the thought of the lactic acid build up in your legs has put you off the bike ride you may prefer a gentle guided walk of the amazing, and less visited Western Lakes. Once again we have a local guide who can take you to the most breathtaking places off the beaten track.

Monday

We thought you might like a day off! There's so much to do including old ferry rides on Windemere or the ravensglass and Eskdale steam railway. We'll make sure you have a list of all the local atttractions so all you have to do is decide.
