Database Trials - Feedback Welcome!

We have trials to three more EBSCOhost databases this month:

Econlit with Full-Text: EconLit with Full Text contains all of the content available in EconLit, plus full text for many journals including titles from the American Economic Association, including: American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Literature, and Journal of Economic Perspectives. This database also includes many non-English full-text journals in economics & finance.
Risk Management Reference Center: Content includes hundreds of full text journals and periodicals, hundreds of thousands of selected articles, reports, summaries, books, blogs, FAQs, and news wires that pertain to all types of risk (including credit, liquidity, operational, event, and market risk).
Newspaper Source Plus: Newspaper Source Plus provides cover-to-cover full text for more than 370 U.S. & international newspapers. The database also contains selected full text for nearly 100 U.S. newspapers and more than 419,000 television & radio news transcripts. Newspaper Source Plus is updated daily.

Access these databases by logging into EBSCOhost and choosing the appropriate database from the list that appears.

Are you working on a business plan? Horn Library is offering a workshop series to help you effectively find the information you need for your plan in your industry.

Series Workshops:

Know Your Industry: Find the 3Ms - Market demand, Market structure, and Margins. Take a look at key industry and market resources that give you trends, market size, segmentation, key success factors, operating ratios and other info on your industry. Identify key associations and trade journals for in-depth information.
Consumer Markets: What can you find out about your consumers? How many are there? Are the numbers growing? Where do they live? What are their characteristics? Take a look at key sources for market research, consumer demographics, and consumer behavior.
Going Global or Staying Local: This workshop focuses on both global and local markets.
- Going Global: Are you locating your business overseas? Take a look at the key sources for doing business in.... Find out where you can get data on country consumer and business markets.
- Staying Local: Find out how to estimate the your market size in a specific US area, or determine the characteristics of consumers in your town or zip code area, or characteristics of consumers in a metropolitan area.

Interlibrary Loan: Pick Up Articles Online!

The Interlibrary Loan system got an upgrade! Now when you request an article, you won't have to come to the Library to pick it up.

When you get an email notification that your article is available, just log into Interlibrary Loan, click Electronically Received Articles and download the pdf.

Articles will be available online for 30 days after they are posted.

If you find you need help finding books/information, trying to figure out where to start your research, or anything else, Ask a Librarian! Here are the different ways you can contact a Librarian:

Sign up for a research consultation at Information Desk 1 (or by calling x4596);
Call the Information Desk at 781-239-4596;
Fill out the Ask a Question form on the web site;
Email reference@babson.edu.

If the library is closed, or you'd rather try some stuff yourself first, our web site is also packed with guides & tutorials to help you...though we know they're not always easy to find. (We're working on fixing that...feedback is welcome!) The best places to start:

Research Guides - find guides for various subjects as well as specific classes;
Find Information On - find quick lists of the best places to start researching countries, industries, companies, finance related topics, history related topics, and a *lot* more;
Quick Tutorials - watch these 2-3 minute clips to help you get started using a database or starting research.

Quick Tip: Use the search box at the top of the page to find library related pages. Just add the word "library" to your search. For example, if I want a page on finding competitors I'd type in "competitors and library".
