I wore the Luminous flush to work today and was reading reviews on sephora.com where someone said it doesnt last long. Not true. My pictures are after 10 hours of wear and you can definitely see it. I applied with Hakuhodo Yachiyo Brush.

Thoughts? I really really like it because of the buildable coverage. It would be kinda hard to overdo it unlike NARS blushes. I also noticed that it gives a matte effect even hours after application. It doesnt get shiny/greasy/blotchy unlike some other blushes. In this photo, im also wearing one of my favorite makeup items(CARGO Topeka) hence the glow on my cheekbones.

I received the Radiant Magenta today and will wear tomorrow and will update this post with pictures/review.

Catching Up

I havent really posted any purchases or hauls because I havent really been shopping for various reasons:
1. I really havent found anything to buy!!
2. No room! Was waiting on the vanity. My bathroom counter is like brimming, no room under the sink and there's products piled on top of my drawer organizer.
3. Busy with work!!

BUT im not here to disappoint you. I have been stalking the Hourglass ambient lighting blushes for a while and requested an email update when available. The sephora site says my local stores have it and i went there but they didnt!! Got an email update yesterday, went straight to the store after work and Radiant Magenta was sold out. I did swatch it and it was BEAUTIFUL so i purchased Luminous Flush which is a chanpagne rose color and sat down and ordered the Radiant Magenta on the sephora app like a crackhead. LOL.

I also ordered from Hakuhodo. This company apparently makes MAC's brushes. Remember I had the NARS Yachiyo brush? It's not as dense as the Hakuhodo and it started shedding!!! I ordered the large pointed Yachiyo(H2386) which i figured was comparable to the NARS thanks to google. I also ordered the large powder brush Maple(H2204M) which is longer than the regular one.

After V-day, I was not impressed with BECCA topaz because i didnt really see/notice a glow and it didnt blend well so i swatched and compared with NARS Laguna and exchanged it.

My Valentine's day 2014

I dont recall if i posted what we did for 2013 but i put a lot into preparation for 2014 because we went to Fogo de Chao for 2013 and im not a huge fan of steak. This year, we had reservations for Canoe. Canoe is currently the best rated restaurant in Atlanta on Yelp. I really wanted to go to Bacchanalia but we called too late and they were booked THREE weeks before Valentine's day.
He really wanted me to wear my Pigalles so I paired them with an orange Herve bandage dress, black and gold clutch and a peach statement necklace.

Honestly, i wasnt too happy about wearing the shoes but hey!! If you look closely, im sporting an e-ring because he popped the question at dinner!! I saw it coming but not this soon!!! Now read below for H-T-T details.

Hair is Glamour House of Hair "Flirt" in 18", 20" and 22" and it was installed by MonetCrotchet located in North Carolina. Yes, you read that right, NC. I drove there with a friend and she also got her hair done. Monetcrotchet is known for her "Seamless Weave" installs. When ordering and choosing what hair i wanted to use, I went with the Flirt. I emailed the company with a picture of the pattern i was looking for and as you can see, you cant see the difference because it matches my natural hair PERFECTLY.
Earrings are probably from forever21 lol.
MU(not impressed---was taking pictures in the car and i had some major flashback in the under eye area. Im trying to figure out which product is causing it).

IKEA Malm Vanity

Yesssssss. Ive had this on my to-buy list for months. I requested it for Christmas and since i didnt get it, I asked for V-day and I got it!!! It took almost a week to assemble(with a lot of cajoling, pleading, begging and bribery). As soon as he finished, I threw my Christmas gift from his mom together and got it up and running!!! Love it!! I now need to find some dividers for inside the drawer and a mirror. For a mirror, i want the Vanity Girl Hollywood Lighted Mirror

To the left is the IKEA Mongstad Mirror and to the right is the window for natural sunlight if needed

The UV light i received for christmas for 2 hands!! She also included top coat and basecoat.

Guerlain Meteorites Perles in Dore - Blossom Collection 2014

I read about the release last year and still bought Teint Dore last year because they're totally different.
I had to order on sephora.com(made sure to use ebates!!) because i used the store locator and none of the stores have it yet. I will post swatches and review when i receive it in the mail.

ETA(Edited to add):
I received it today(Mon Jan 20) and was excited!! I did not wear makeup today I swatched a little on my cheeks. It sorta gave me a flush. One thing i noticed is that the balls arent as many as the Teint Dore. And there was only like...3 red/fuchsia(looks red to me) balls...

I'm not sure if i will keep it but i wont say for sure until I wear with makeup probably tomorrow. Might post some FOTDs.

Also as you can see in the above photo, the old formulation has a sponge/foam applicator while the new one has a puff.

ETA: Review
A few things i dont like:
#1 There is very little product. The amount of balls is way less than the old formulation#2 Its supposed to be an all over/finishing powder but due to the color, i absolutely cannot use it all over my face. I tried on just my cheeks and it gave a flush. I dont want to get a flush...thats what blush is for #3 it would work great as a sheer blush BUT for the price, im going to need it to not be sheer #4 it only had 4 fuchsia perles. I went to the store to check out their stock and they were all like that(not enough perles and not enough fuchsia perles)#5 the "fuchsia" is actually red

So it had to go back to Sephora

Before i get into it, im going to ramble about some purchases quickly:

I heard great things about this primer and was skeptical because i was pretty damn sure BECCA Ever-matte was THE ONLY primer that could kill the oilies on my face. Granted I still got oily like 5-6 hours later but still...

I ordered the Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner on amazon.com and received it in 2 days(yay Prime) and used it today. Its a serum-like consistency unlike the Becca which is creamy and grainy and you have to melt on the back of your hands before applying. I still have MU on my face 7 hours later and I have not needed to blot. Im kinda scared like... WTF!!!
I think it's a little TOO mattifying if there's such a thing. I sprayed some MAC Fix+ to make my face a little less matte. Im very impressed and will try it again tomorrow. I will update soon.

I've read and heard good things about this company and was really excited to get my stuff. Their vitamin C serum is going to be replacing my MUAC which i think breaks me out and the Hydroquin 2 serum will replace my Epiquin Micro for hyperpigmentation. It has Hydroquinone and Kojic Acid. I plan to use the C serum on face, neck and chest and the Hydroquin is to spot treat my dark spots on face, and chest :(
I think the Organix products i use for my extensions broke me out. I had a BAD breakout on my BACK, chest and shoulders. Its seriously depressing. Then the MAC prolong wear concealer broke out my chin so it's like back to square one. I should seriously learn to stay away from MAC foundations and concealers.

You can see the LS is dark and RED. PL is more peachy while TI is more yellow. I will probably not repurchase the LS and will alternate between TI & PL. PL was very light weight and blended well when the SA swatched on my neck(which is darker than my face).

Vegas Revisited

He decided on a whim he wanted to go to Vegas for like....a day. On the way to the airport, he informed me my christmas gift would be cash. At that point, I knew what stores i would be visiting and what i would be buying without knowing how much cash. lol

*screams* Yes i bought these with my Christmas money!! These are my 1st pair. They were more comfortable than expected. I wear 8.5/9 and i did try the 39.5 to be sure and it was too big in the heel area. the insole felt as most European-made shoes do. I will have to take them to a shop to place the silicone protectors on the sole. I dont know what/wear to wear them but im sure ill find something.

In the louboutin store before security told me i couldnt take pics in the store. LOL. ooops. They were purchased in the Louboutin store in the Forum Shops.

Some toe cleavage for those that like it. I like toe cleavage myself and some dont. Your mileage may vary.

I stopped by sephora to check out the Koh Gen Do maifanshi foundation but they didnt have a good selection of shades. I did try Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #13 and also swatched #11.5 which i currently have and i think i will purchase #13 from now on. I didnt have the opportunity to try before buying.

Then i wanted to purchase some items from the MAC store. I just decided to ask if they had Pleasure Bomb Lipstick from the Riri Hearts Holiday Collection that was released that morning and they did!!! What a pleasant surprise. I asked to buy 2 and the lady said one per person but i could send someone to get it for me so I took my SO to buy it for me. LOL.

I received my hair yesterday. Ive been looking for 3C textured hair for a while so i definitely was not disappointed.

Foxy making an appearance lol. These are all the pieces right out the package. Click on the pics for a bigger view.

Washed and dried:

I washed with Kenra clarifying shampoo, conditioned with ABBA moisturizing conditioner and brushed with a denman D3 brush. I lost about 5 pieces of hair total during the wash. Piece #3 did not lose any hair at all.

Guerlain Météorites Perles Teint Dore

Ok this is one of my christmas gifts to myself(other is IKEA Malm). Ive been obsessing over it and have tried to find reviews and videos with women of color wearing it. There are not too many. I think i found only ONE youtube video and she pulled it off. I determined that Teint Dore would be the one to work for darker skin. Ive had it on my sephora wish list for a while contemplating and i even deleted it last week.
Then I started looking at it again yesterday. I went to check it out at Nordstrom and the SA applied it on me. It wasnt chalky in any way!! I had some sephora credit so i headed over there to pick it up.

Compared to the Hourglass Ambient Powders :

The darkest perles are darker than dim on the far left which is the darkest powder. I like the gold balls(giggles) the best and im going to play with the green and purple to see how it works. Im plan to apply with a fluffy brush i have for now. Might get the Meteorites brush in the future.

Black Friday Purchases

Can you guess what i purchased on Black Friday? Extensions. LOL. Right now, Im trying to build my stash. I currently have the Arjuni Wavy A and Wavy C(currently installed) and Ive had my eye on the D. The D is the closest to African American hair. I won a contest and got a 50% off code to use for Black Friday and I had an amount I didn't plan to exceed.

The website went live at 12 midnight EST and I ended up with this blend:

I ended up spending a little under $1200. I was hoping for longer lengths(18-20 and 20-22) but they didnt have any. Della is a Curly D Low luster. I think 7.1 oz should be enough. I really want a long piece so i might buy a supplement in the future. Without the 50% off coupon, i would never have purchased it.

I also got some Coarse Curly(20"-22" x 2) from extravirginhair.com for 40% off. I paid $262 total which is not bad.

I will post pictures of both when i receive them. The next company i want to try is extensions plus. Im going to have them create a custom curly blend for me. I had Peakmill make a wig using my wavy A and I will post pictures of me wearing it after i remove my current install.

as you can see, the ebony is wayyy dark. thats because its going to be for contouring. as far as nutmeg, it has the closest undertone to me(im yellow based) and chestnut is VERY red. not sure how to work with chestnut.

Next items i want to try from them are their eyeshadows. Luckily, there's a store in my city that sells this and i can swatch. They also give me a discount sometimes ;-)

Wet n Wild on sale at all the drugstores. My friend who i stayed with in London earlier this year gave me a list so i went on a treasure hunt.

Below is a comparison of Guerlain Terracotta #8 and NARS Casino bronzer. I wanted a variety and unfortunately, Casino blended with my skin tone. Had to take it back. Still on the hunt for more bronzers. You can see i love the Guerlain! One of the few products i've actually hit pan on.

IKEA Mongstad Mirror White

Two of my friends have this mirror in black. I didn't even know it came in white until i found a lady selling FOUR of them on craigslist. Apparently IKEA no longer sells white but when they did, it was $129. The black-brown is currently $99. I purchased from this lady for $75 which is not bad. I tried to bargain but she didnt budge. #ohwell Can you believe this HUGE mirror fit in my civic?!!! Not until after i let the back seats down and i had to drive all up in the steering wheel but i did it!!

It's currently in the spare room im converting into a closet. It's coming out nicely albeit slowly. I also got some organizers from hautelook.

Here's my hair before(Arjuni Wavy C Low Luster, 18-20)
Im wearing a custom closure from wigsroyal.com I sent 2.8 oz(weft 1-ML & 2-LL 1.2oz and 1.6oz respectively) of 16-18 of the same hair and about 1.8oz was used. mostly of the low luster. The hair was installed by Amandita. Wefts are 6.8oz total and with closure the whole install is 8.3oz.

Nail Polish Stash

Ok so this is some of my stash that i was able to gather and organize in my helmer. I have been stuck in a NP rut for a while. Some of the polishes are dried out so i need to buy a thinner. I have some HTFs(hard to finds) that i considered selling but i would never forgive myself if i do start polishing again and i dont have it. The rest of the polishes are either in my chest, under the bed or in my "closet.

Top drawer is OPI:

this drawer is somewhat arranged. Very front and cremes, jellies etc...the plain ones. then the crackles, DS, micro-glitters/shimmers, chunky glitters, nicole by OPI and sephora by OPI. On the side is the minis.

2nd drawer containing HE(high ends):

chanel, clarins, clarins 230, MAC, Deborah Lippmann, Nfu Oh, Rescue Beauty Lounge, Butter London, Illamasqua and NARS.

3rd drawer containing other mid-ends(mostly china glaze):

CG, Orly, Zoya, Essie, Barielle(didnt know i had that many) then 1 nubar.

4th drawer containing drugstore and other low-end:

color club, essence, sally hansen, loreal etc.

5th drawer containing clears(top coats, treatments and base coats):

And last drawer has all these crap and some have nothing to do with polish:
