Brass: Yellow
Bell: Detachable
Details: This is a great horn that is incredibly versatile! It was previously owned by Jeff Nelsen, Canadian Brass Hornist, Fearless Educator, and Professor of Horn at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. It has been played on some of the most highly esteemed concert stages all over the world and in the most famous orchestras.

It does have some visible cosmetic wear, (few dents and scratches). It plays beautifully and has a great, present sound, and also plays very evenly in all registers. Horn is being sold with a Marcus Bona fixed bell backpack case (red).

Bore: Medium
Bell: Fixed
Details: Yamaha 664 - some say Yamaha's best horn ever...
Yamaha 664 full F/Bb double horn, is an earlier model Yamaha 6 series professional level instrument.

Launched as a 'student' instrument, these fine horns were snapped up byprofessionals andamateurs alike, and as soon as you blow one you know why: they play truly superbly, in all registers, and they're really well made, sturdy horns.

They've got medium bells - unusual for a Kruspe wrap horn - and so make a bright, perky 'European' sound.
Their valves are tight, so they've got great high registers. This example have some dings here and there, the lacquer has as expected wear'd off at some places - but nothing to worry about at all.
This YHR-664 is in excellent playing condition and has a fantastic sound and register.and would suit the serious amateur/advance student/professional player. Comes with original Yamaha pro hard case and mouthpieces.

It comes from a retiring semi-professional solo Horn player and will make someone very happy indeed.

Bore: Medium
Brass: Nickel Silver
Bell: Fixed
Details: Pro player/ teacher is selling a marvelous Holton double French Horn. This is a vintage instrument, manufactured about 37 years ago. It is a Farkas model # H177, made of nickel silver. The horn was only used for about 15 years, and is therefore still in amazing condition! No dents, only a few tiny dings around the bell area. There is NO wear to the lacquer at all. Valves and slides all move easily, and the horn is absolutely ready for an advancing student, amateur, or casual player to take over. If you have a student from middle school through high school, or a college student still continuing with band, this would be a serious horn to consider. The Holton H177 plays similarly to the model H179 -- it has a medium bell bore which provides a quicker response and a crystal clear, beautiful tone. You can also achieve a brassier sound in loud passages very easily with a medium bore. This instrument has a super range with very good pitch and stability of sound. The really low register is open and robust. The really high notes are stable and easy to hit. Everything else in between has an even, full sound. This horn will please your favorite Horn player for many years to come!

Comes with the original Holton hard case which still functions well. I'd give it a B or B- for looks. I have an extra Holton Farkas medium cup mouthpiece if you need one. I will completely ** GUARANTEE ** your satisfaction of this instrument. Please call (above) or email for more pictures and info: anneshorn@wi.rr.com.

Conn 8D Elkhart - M series - Full Double - 3200 US $

Bore: Large
Brass: Nickel Silver
Bell: Fixed
Details: Beautiful, vintage Conn 8D for sale!!! This is an M series -- one of the best, in my opinion. It is in AMAZING, all-original condition: it has the original leadpipe, Elkhart bell, original valves that have never been re-plated, and even still has the original lacquer. This fine instrument almost looks like new. It has never had any dent removal or repairs done over the years. The valves still retain very good compression. Lacquer is excellent, if you want to keep it lacquered, rather than remove it. Barely any wear to speak of. There are a few tiny knicks and scratches.

The horn plays great, as you would expect from an M series 8D. The tone is rich and warm, full and even. Low range is open and HUGE. Upper range is soooo secure and pitch is great. You can have this highly regarded and sought-after horn for much less than a new one. And we all know that the prized Elkhart 8Ds are the best! The horn is in perfect playing/ working condition. Comes with the original Conn hard case which still functions well. Just appraised for $4,500 by hornmaker, Wes Hatch, so this treasure is a terrific deal too! Please email or call for more info and detailed pictures: anneshorn@wi.rr.com
