But who cares? Taylor Swift's her own boss.

And if you're as free-spirited and careless at Tay is in her "22" video, out Wednesday, you too might pretend you're in Malibu, frolicking in the sun in a shower of glitter and friendship. From the looks of the latest Red clip, sunshine, confetti and BFFs complete the video. But what are the other top moments of "22"? MTV News takes a look.

Here are the lucky #13 key moments of Taylor Swift's "22" video:

Cake Eaters
There's nothing like eating an entire tray of birthday cake (office parties get pretty rowdy at MTV News). Taylor opens up the video by leaning over a granite countertop while munching on frosting. Her goofy best friends get in on the cake action too, lifting sugar-coated plastic forks and pouring a champagne/fruit punch pyramid. And did you see that ice cream cone later in the clip? Mmm. Hey, 22-year-olds still have speedy metabolism!

Cat Power
With gold-studded cat ears, Swift rocks the night away. Maybe it's an ode to her kitty Meredith, or maybe she's continuing her furry theme from "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." Either way, animal ears = in. Meee-ow.

Young at Heart Staying fashionable and UV ray-protected, the girls don heart-shaped sunglasses while channeling their inner cheerleaders. Cue Lana Del Rey — what a cute way to ward off those California rays.

All That Glitters
Confetti-spewing rockets, pom poms, anything that shines. The gal pals spend a chunk of the high-energy visual throwing the sparkly flakes at each other, dancing among it and blowing the confetti from their cupped hands like a kiss. Did we mention the sequins? Yeah, they're all over Swift's glammed mini and top during the last scene's disco party. Bling!

Swift's Lookbook
If you felt like you were watching the summer Topshop ad during "22," you weren't alone. Look at that comfy chambray! And those friendship bracelets! There were the floral tanks, leather jackets, pleated skirts, bandana headbands and one very sequined, wordy (and expensive) T-shirt that had fans stalking the internet immediately after the vid's premiere. If you want the T, you might need to take a trip to Paris to buy the "Not A Lot Going On At The Moment" top from Colette, designed by the sequin-loving Ashish.

Vibin'
Are you dancing yet? The most important part of the singer's new video is the vibe. We grew up with Taylor, nursing our heartbreaks, ushering us into new relationships and aiding us through rough patches. But this time, she's forgetting about love. She's ready to take a break for herself — and you do that by chilling and partying with your friends. From the sound of it, she'll be amping up the Red tour like this too.

Jump, Jump Around
A trampoline makes a key appearance in the video, allowing Tay to show off her moves and chest bump with the pals.

You Say You A Gangsta
If you put two and two together, what do you get? Twenty two-ooh-ooh. (Oh, it's four? Nevermind.) Another key theme of the vid involved throwing up peace signs, and while it seemed like Taylor was repping a gang, she was just showing her age with the double deuces.

In Sync
Though Taylor may be over One Direction's Harry Styles, it seems like she's using some of his own moves. TS and her buds shake it out and improvise, but also show off some synchronized dance movies. They aren't quite like 1D's signature rowboat move, but they're unique by themselves, and maybe even more adorable. You be the judge.

Pool Party
Is there anything more fun that lying in the sun all day, splashing your friends and filling the deck with balloons? No.

Friend Pillows
Remember that Ha! game played at sleepovers? The before-bedtime giggle fest where each slumber-partier rests their head on each other's belly to take turns letting out low laughs. Eventually, the fake laughs turned into real laughs, and the whole circle was infectiously laughing. The "22" gang has us thinking that the sleepover ritual is still do-able, even if we are grown-ups.

Tour de Taylor
Taylor's been known to love bikes, but this clip takes the sad forlorn ride in "Begin Again" to new levels. Instead of wandering the streets of Paris, three pairs double up on bikes for a reckless race in the backyard. Be careful, guys!

Ahead of the 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards, the pop tart opened up about what makes performing for students such a blast.

"College kids are one of my favorite audiences to play for because they are wild, rambunctious. They've been sitting in class all day and all they want to do is get out and make out with some hot chick," the Warriorsinger explained. "And when I play shows there's just all the wildness in the world happening and it's really infectious energy."

That's the sort of joie de vivre attitude that 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards performers like Zedd (who will close out the show with "Clarity"), Alt-J, HAIM, Jake Bugg, Timeflies, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis as well as Twenty One Pilots might want to take to the stage during the show, which takes place on Thursday (March 14) in Austin, Texas.

The Woodie Awards Festival will take place during the annual South By Southwest Music Festival and is open to all SXSW badge holders and music fans over the age of 18. In addition to buzzy performances and a slew of super-cool nominees, the night will also kick off the MTV Jams stage with Trinidad James, Travi$ Scott and Joey Bada$$ in tow.

The 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards will then take over the night beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT. MTV and mtvU will air a half-hour "2013 Woodie Awards" special on March 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Woodie Award voting runs through Thursday at 4 p.m. ET.

And she did it without even being there.

Minaj was late to the taping, a first in "Idol's" 12-season history. The show started without her — "we are coming to you live and on time from Hollywood," host Ryan Seacrest slyly noted at the top of the episode — and Ms. Minaj was nowhere to be seen. "I hear she's seven minutes out and there's some congestion on the 405," Seacrest explained, "so she should be here momentarily."

Get More: Music News

Minaj was absent during the evening's first performance, a solid showing from Curtis Finch Jr., but by the time the second contestant hit the stage she was in her chair — wearing oversized sunglasses, a hoodie and snapping gum between her teeth, which just about any on-air talent will tell you is a no-no. (I've been to a taping of "Idol," and they have ushers who make sure no one in the audience is chewing gum because of how bad it reads on camera.)

Nicki eventually ditched the sunglasses but kept her hood up all night, and proceeded to make several bizarre comments to the contestants, using an extended metaphor to compare Kree Harrison to a plate of microwaved waffles, telling Angie Miller, "your legs are giving me everything I needed in life today" and commenting to Paul Jolley that his performance was "the first time you've stimulated my sexual appetite." At one point, Keith Urban leaned over to smell what was inside Nicki's Coke cup.

Nicki's antics stole the spotlight from what was otherwise a winning night for Candice Glover and Amber Holcomb, the two best singers of the night. The theme was songs from other "Idol" winners, and Glover and Holcomb performed like champions in their own right, with Glover soaring on Shirley Bassey's "I (Who Have Nothing)," a hit for Jordin Sparks back in Season 6, while Holcomb tackled Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This." "Hashtag: Pow!" Mariah Carey told Holcomb after her performance, while Nicki suggested "I (Who Have Nothing)" should never be performed live by any singers ever again after Glover "destroyed and annihilated" it.

Holcomb was one of three contestants who took on Kelly Clarkson songs; of "Idol's" 11 winners, only six were represented. (Sorry Taylor Hicks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze and Phillip Phillips.) Angie Miller also took on Kelly and won kudos for her version of Celine Dion's "I Surrender" (sang by Clarkson during her season), which Carey dubbed simply "stellar," while Lazaro Arbos stumbled with his version of Clarkson's "Breakaway," which was seen as timid by the judges. Randy Jackson criticized Arbos' pitch and said the song was "too big" for the Florida ice cream scooper.

Devin Velez also struggled, taking on Carrie Underwood's "Temporary Home," which was called the wrong song choice by Keith Urban and dismissed as "too safe" by Jackson. While Velez and Arbos missed their marks, Paul Jolley and Burnell Taylor put on a good showing for the guys, with the former dropping much of the showiness of his past performances and the latter continuing to be the strongest male vocalist in the competition.

One of the 10 performers will be sent home on Thursday's show, which is also set to feature performances by Bon Jovi and Phillip Phillips, as well as a sing-off between the male and female contestants closest to making the top 10 to see which of them will make this summer's "Idol" tour. And maybe we'll also get some better answers about why Nicki Minaj couldn't get to Wednesday's show on time.

Bieber's longtime manager, Scooter Braun, as well as his Believe tourmate, Carly Rae Jepsen, want Beliebers to know that despite some recent setbacks, Bieber is in "a great place."

Braun spoke to E! News on Monday, the same day his artist took the stage to a sold-out show in Portugal. "There's nothing wrong with him," he said, hoping to settle Justin's tabloid troubles. "He's in a great place."

Get More: Music News

]Two days before Scooter spoke up for Bieber, MTV News chatted with Jepsen, who shared that Bieber has been a "trouper" throughout his recent struggles.

"If there's anybody who I think can pull off what it means to be a professional performer, it's Justin because, yeah, it was chaotic week, but he sang even when he was feeling kind of like light of breath and showed us that old saying 'The show must go on' is really true," the "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" singer told us on Saturday. "So, I'm proud of him."

In the days prior to Jepsen's comments, Bieber had his fair share of troubles. It kicked off on March 1 when was celebrating his 19th birthday. His party was cut short after some rumored drama in a London club that he later billed as his "worst birthday."

He later had to apologize for kicking off a London concert late. But, his problems hardly ended there. Last Thursday, he was admitted to the hospital after he collapsed in concert. After he was released, on Friday, he got into a verbal scuffle with the paparazzi.

And Jepsen understands how the pressure can get to you, noting that it's important to balance professional obligations with personal time.

She said, "Well, I think there are moments where you do feel very much like this is a day of heavy press or a day of show time. And that is a lot of sort of being right out there in the wide open. But there's also a lot of downtime. And luckily, I am touring with people who I consider my dearest friends, my bandmates, my brothers. And, the whole team that I'm traveling with are just good people, good hard-working people. So we get out downtime and lots of out of the limelight moments as well and that's when I'm really mischievous."

Meanwhile, Bieber has some time off in between gigs. His Tuesday (March 12) show in Portugal is cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances." Rumor has it that poor ticket sales contributed to the cancellation, but Braun insists that it wasn't the case.

Braun claims that the cancellation, which was supposedly scheduled long before it made headlines, was due to technical issues. "It has nothing to do with anything other than that," Braun added to E! "Tell everyone Justin is good, really good."

In addition to support from those in his immediate circle, Bieber has also gotten love from his pals in One Direction (later thanking them for their support) as well as Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.

And while she's played the fairy princess on past jaunts, fans should expect a more grown-up Taylor this time around.

"I think that the visuals kind of portrayed on this tour will be, I guess, more grown-up and a little more mature than things we've done in the past," she explained about the trek. "And I think on my previous albums and my previous tours I've really liked to operate in the element of fantasy and I think that this tour will incorporate a little more reality into the visuals, which is nice."

Speaking to fans from tour rehearsals, the 23-year-old chart-topper noted that anything and everything is possible when it comes to the look and vibe of this tour.

"I think from the Red tour fans can expect the unexpected," she further explained. "I think I really like the element of surprise and I love incorporating that into the shows. I like for these tours to be completely different from every single one we've done."

The tour kicks off on one lucky day for Swift, March 13. During the massive jaunt, she will be joined by pal Ed Sheeran, who previously described the gig as "mind-blowing," as well as various other opening acts including internet sensation Austin Mahone. The tour is slated to end on September 21 in Swift's home base of Nashville.

But, that's not all: On Wednesday, she will also gift fans with the Anthony Mandler-directed video for her latest single, "22." Swift shot the video, with her real-life pals in tow, last month in and around Malibu.

Pitbull and Ke$ha will serve as the night's musical performers. The Miami rapper will be joined by Christina Aguilera to perform their track "Feel This Moment," while party girl Ke$ha will be on hand performing her Warrior single, "C'Mon."

"Can't wait to play the Kids' Choice Awards for the first time," Pitbull said in a statement. "Look forward for fans to also see the first performance of 'Feel This Moment' with Christina Aguilera. It's gonna be fun, dale!!!"

Ke$ha was equally excited about the booking, adding, "Kids' Choice is always one of the most fun awards shows of the year. I can't wait to come out and party with all of my animals!!!" (Ke$ha will be back on the small screen in April as the star of her own MTV documentary series "Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life.")

Celebrities from across all entertainment platforms — ranging from music to TV to movies to sports — will try to take home a blimp at this year's show, which will be hosted by "Transformers" star Josh Duhamel. Nominees in a range of categories include Taylor Swift, One Direction, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Miranda Cosgrove, Kristen Stewart, Will Smith and more.

Fans can vote in all categories across all of Nick's digital platforms. A complete list of nominees and additional information can be found on Nick's website. The show will go live at 8 p.m. ET from USC's Galen Center in L.A. on March 23.

What beef?

Sure, it seemed like Justin Timberlake threw a light-hearted lyrical jab at Kanye West during his performance of "Suit & Tie"
 on "Saturday Night Live."

But on the first night of his weeklong stint on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" on Monday, Timberlake sidestepped any talk of a growing feud with the rapper.

"Did it seem that way?" Timberlake said with a grin after Fallon asked him if he switched up a line in "Suit" to get back at West for an earlier criticism of the singer's hit comeback single.

"I don't remember that . . . Did I change a line? It is live," JT said. "You know, really, everyone, keep calm." During the "SNL"
performance, which included the requisite cameo from Yeezy's the Throne cohort Jay-Z, Timberlake sang the new lyric, "My hit's so sick/got rappers acting dramatic."

The immediate response was that JT was hitting back after Kanye rapped, "I got love for Hov/but I ain't f---ing with that 'Suit & Tie,'" during a February 23 show in London.

"Let me just, for the record, " Timberlake clarified. "I absolutely love Kanye. So there's that. We love Kanye, right?"

The Timberlake lyrical switch up had some wondering how it might affect the Jay/Kanye relationship. So far Jay has not weighed in on the controversy and it is full-steam ahead for the 12-city "Legends of the Summer Tour"
with Timberlake, which will hit 12 stadiums starting in July.

The singer will release her video for "22" this Wednesday.

Fans will get an early glimpse at the Anthony Mandler-directed clip when a 30-second teaser airs on "Good Morning America" before the full video hits the show's website at 8:30 a.m. ET. The premiere date, March 13, is worth noting too. Swift has always shared how 13 is her lucky number, and this is no coincidence. On Monday (March 11), the singer confirmed it and reminded Swifties that her Red Tour also kicks off that day.

Swift, now 23, enlisted her real-life pals for the visual. Taylor, wearing a knit cap, was photographed not long ago on set with her BFFs getting wild and carousing in Malibu, eating ice cream and being pushed around in a shopping cart.

Shortly after the shoot, she tweeted, "Leaving LA now after the best day with my friends. Almost forgot it was a video shoot. Can't wait for you guys to see it."

This isn't her first collaboration with Mandler. He captured a darker side of the fair-haired singer in her "I Knew You Were Trouble" video, which dropped late last year.

"I think that the Rihannas, the Beyoncés, the Jay-Zs, they're always willing to tear things down and re-create themselves," Mandler told MTV News about working with her on that other clip back in December.

"[And what] I'm hoping is that this is the first moment in a new chapter for Taylor, that this is a left turn on her path that will lead to new and different things ... it will give her the confidence and power to do different things, to be able to broaden and take her fanbase on a journey that's unexpected. And that is, to me, what prolongs people's careers."

After a kickoff on Friday night in Buffalo, New York at the First Niagara Center, Rih was forced to put off her Sunday night show at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts due to illness.

Tour promoter Live Nation released a statement announcing the cancellation, saying, "Unfortunately, following her sold out concert on Friday, Rihanna has contracted laryngitis and per doctor's instruction is unable to perform this evening."

Rihanna was bummed about the gig as well, tweeting on Sunday morning, "#Boston this is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we've been waiting on this day forever, and I'm hurt that I let you down."

She followed a short time later with the note, "I hate disappointing people that never ever let me down!! I'm so embarrassed about this! Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!" The next scheduled date on the tour is on Tuesday at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. The six month Diamonds tour is slated to run through May in the U.S. before heading to Europe for a series of gig that will wind down with a show in Helsinki, Finland, on July 28.

According to a review of the Buffalo show in the Buffalo News, the singer appeared in fine form on opening night. Though reportedly an hour late to take to the stage, the sold out show featured impressive choreography from the singer, her eight dancers, two back-up singers and four-piece band.

The night's two-hour barrage of hits included "Birthday Cake," "Umbrella," "What's My Name," "Love the Way You Lie" "Rude Boy," "We Found Love" and "Diamonds," amid a barrage of costume changes.

A spokesperson for Rihanna could not be reached at press time for further details on the singer's illness and confirmation that Tuesday's Baltimore show will go on as scheduled.
