Ranbir kapoor's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani creating waves

This is going to be a ghazab ka phillum simply because the hottest sensations of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor, are coming together on screen as a jodi for the first time.

Kahani already have people rating them as a hit. Tips Films, which is presenting this romantic comedy, believes that it has a winner, given its earlier track record — Race and Kismat Konnection. Like Ranbir and Katz, producer Ramesh Taurani too is excited about his offering because it’s directed by Rajkumar Santoshi who has given hits like Andaz Apna Apna, Barsaat, Damini and many others. “Ajab... is even more hilarious than Andaz Apna Apna,” said Taurani, “in fact, if Andaz had comedy, Ajab has comedy and romance in it.”

Telling BT why they chose Ranbir and Katz, Santoshi said, “The film required a fresh pair. We were very impressed with Ranbir and Katrina. They have great screen presence and their fans will love them in this film.”

The stars hit it off instantly on day one. They shot extensively on exotic locations in Turkey, Goa and Ooty, and like in the film, they had fun on the sets too. “Don’t go by her looks, she’s a bully,” said Ranbir as Katrina smiled and added, “People across all sections will be able to relate to this film.” The music, too, is catching on with audiences and topping charts, especially the song Tera Hone Laaga Hoon.

“The song wasn’t choreographed as such. The two were told to be natural and their screen presence added magic to the song,” said the filmmakers. Pritam, who scored the music, roped in some big singers like Atif Aslam, Kailash Kher, KK, Sunidhi Chauhan, Alisha Chinoy and Hard Kaur for this rom-com which is set to hit theatres on Novembe 6.

Volkswagen to launch first TV ad in India news

Volkswagen India is targeting the Indian consumer with its first television ad which will go on air tomorrow.

The German auto major is launching an integrated 360-degree communication campaign conceptualised by DDB Mudra.

The ad shows a young boy in a Volkswagen showroom deciding on the cars that he wants to 'book in advance' at various stages of his life – one for his 18th birthday, one when he becomes the 'vice-president' of a company and another when he eventually becomes the chief executive officer.

The tagline at the end of the commercial says, 'German engineering. Made for India'.

Besides television, the integrated communication campaign will involve print, digital and out-of-home media for the first time in India. The campaign is aimed at heightening Volkswagen's brand equity in the Indian market.

Elaborating on the campaign, Lutz Kothe, chief general manager - marketing and PR, Volkswagen India, said, ''Based on a clear brand strategy, Volkswagen is known for its cutting-edge advertising across the world. Our powerful and creative campaigns continue to have a special place in the consumer's mind through decades. With our first brand campaign in India, we have strived to achieve the same for our consumers here and are confident that they will take to it.''

Actress Dimple Kapadia's sister "simple kapadia" passed away to cancer

Actor-costume designer Simple Kapadia passed away at a local hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon. Younger sister of actor Dimple Kapadia, Simple had been battling cancer for three years. She was 50.

Family friends said Simple suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken by her elder sister Dimple to the hospital. She passed away in the afternoon.

Simple had been living with her sister for the last three years. Sources close to the family said Dimple even refused to take up work for three years to take care of her ailing sister.

Born on August 15, 1958, Simple started her career as an actor with her (then) brother-in-law, Rajesh Khanna, in the film Anurodh in 1976. The audiences rejected the film but she continued acting in about 20 more films like Lootmaar, Pyaar Ke Do Pal, Jeevan Dhara, Shaaka and Rehguzar. She quit acting in 1986.

After a gap of nearly 10 years, Simple returned to Bollywood as a dress designer for Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia. She even won the National Award for costume design for the film Rudaali.

'The lovemaking scene in Kurbaan was necessary'

One would think directing A-listers like Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor would make first-time director Rensil D'Silva nervous.

But the filmmaker claims he's not as he has got 18 years experience as an ad-man. Plus scripting films like Aks, Rang De Basanti and Mani Ratnam's upcoming film Raavan, must have helped calm the nerves a bit.

Nervous or no, Rensil's directorial debut Kurbaan is generating a lot of buzz for it's terrorism theme and it's real-life romantic pairing of Saif-Kareena.

Here's what the filmmaker has to say of his experience when he got to chat with his fans on Tuesday. For those who missed the chat, here's a recap.

hello asked, did you really script mani ratnam's movie?
RENSIL answers, I have been working with Mani on three scripts over the last two years. Lajo was one of them. We have another untitled screenplay that Mani should begin next year. And I have helped him on Ravaan.

mani asked, Hi, what can you tell us about Raavan?
RENSIL answers, Ravaan is a contemporary update on the myth set in today's times. But the characters and the plot line don't change very dramatically from the original.

zmxkasldxa asked, Hello there, Why did you zero on Kareena and Saif for Kurbaan?
RENSIL answers, Because Saif and Kareena fitted the roles I had written. Also they are fabulous actors, easy to get along with and they responded very strongly to the script. I think now when I view the final cut of the film there could be no other actors who could have played these protagonists.

Shabnam Al Fatwani asked, Hello Rensil, how was it working with a real life couple on reel life???
RENSIL answers, I don't think there was any difference as such. I responded to them more as actors than as a couple. It did help in the more intimate scenes though because I think Indian actors always have difficulty with intimacy on the big screen. It just made things easy. Apart from that the advantage of working with a couple like them is that they are foodies. So my evening dinners were ensured!

Vidya Balan carries 45 kg boy on shoulder

Who says acting is easy? Not when you have to carry a boy weighing 45 kgs on your shoulders. Just ask actress vidya Balan, who had to go through the exercise for her film "Paa" -- and ended up falling.

"In a scene, Vidya had to shoot with a child who is playing the younger version of Amitabh Bachchan in 'Paa'. The scene required Vidya to carry him on her shoulders," said a source.

"Vidya weighs 45 kgs and so did the boy. Vidya carried him on her shoulders nevertheless. Suddenly there was this loud thud and people saw that she had lost balance and fallen on the ground along with the boy. The actress still completed the shot," added the source.

"Paa", slated for a Dec 4 release, revolves around a father-son relationship. While Abhishek Bachchan plays the father, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen as his son who is suffering from a rare disorder called progeria.

Two New Girls in Ranbir Kapoor's Life

The two new girls in Ranbir Kapoor’s life are Shazahn Padmansee and Gauhar Khan, his co-stars from Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year, which debuts on Dec 11th. How did Shazahn find filming with the new generation superstar? "While shooting for the movie, we all got along like a house on fire,” she says, “The entire crew played pranks on each other. There were times when I too was made a scapegoat."

Still only 22, Shazahn has already kissed Ranbir three times - in Rocket Singh - and has been hugged by SRK whilst making a TV ad with him - she looks destined for the top! The hug from SRK came after starry-eyed Shazahn told King Khan that she had watched DDLJ 25 times. The two also share the same director in Shimit Amin, who has directed both Chak De India and Rocket Singh.

Gauhar Khan is also hoping that Rocket Singh will put her on the map - she is in the movie from beginning to end. However, she intends to use the kudos she gains from the film wisely and is in no mood to rush into any new production. “I’m in no hurry to sign projects or be in the rat race for having a number of films in hand,” she confirms, “The issue here is to be known as an actor and concentrate on challenges rather than break my head over who is signed opposite me.”

Mumbai: Bollywood`s current hearthrob Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the male lead in Rajkumar Santoshi`s recently released hit romantic comedy "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani", is all praise for him and says that the filmmaker is an institution in himself.

"It was great that I got to work under Mr Santoshi who is an institution in himself. Every actor should work with him at least once because the amount of confidence he instills in an actor is amazing," Ranbir said.

Katrina kaif pays 15 lakh to learn Hindi

How much does it cost to hire Katrina Kaif’s services in Bollywood for a day? Exactly Rs 15 lakh! This is the amount reached by the actress herself. And which she apparently carried, in cash, onto Prakash Jha’s sets of Rajniti recently when she thought she might have to compensate the filmmaker for wasting one day’s shooting.

The story goes that Katz, the only female character in Jha’s heavy duty set-up headed by Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee, Randhir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, is atrocious in her delivery of Hindi dialogue. And in Rajniti , which she is very excited about, the actress is the focal point of the script and has a lot of lines. But Katz has been taking her Hindi dialogue delivery lessons seriously and is hell-bent on getting the accent and pronunciation right.

Now comes the twist. On one particular day during her recent stint in Bhopal, Katz found herself staring at sheets of lengthy dialogues and realized she would need an extra day to prepare if she was to get it right. So, she went up to Jha and told him about her predicament. And even before the filmmaker, who’s had enough grief with this film, could bat an eyelid, the professional girl volunteered to compensate him for her day’s shooting expenses.

Jha confirmed the story. “It was a truly professional gesture and I’m very touched,’’ he said. Of course, he didn’t take the money and gave his actress the one extra day she needed. Only to be rewarded on day two. Unit hands say that Katrina had taken it as a challenge and knew every dialogue pat. She surprised everyone present on the set with her spoken lines. And so, continues to be the flavour of the season.

Tropical Cyclone Strengthens Near India, May Hit Coast Tomorrow

Nov. 11 (Bloomberg) -- A tropical cyclone strengthened over the Arabian Sea off the west coast of India and is forecast to make landfall north of Mumbai early tomorrow.

Tropical Cyclone 04A was 393 kilometers (244 miles) south- southwest of Mumbai at 11:30 p.m. local time yesterday, the U.S. Navy Joint Typhoon Warning Center said on its Web site.

The storm’s maximum sustained winds strengthened to 74 kilometers per hour, from 65 kph yesterday, as it moved north at 13 kph, the center said. The storm’s winds are forecast to strengthen to 83 kph by 11:30 a.m. today.

The cyclone, the fourth of the season for the Arabian Sea, is forecast to sweep past Mumbai and make landfall near the town of Mahuva on the Gulf of Khambhat to the

Priyanka Bhatia is Neil Nitin Mukesh's Girl Friend

Neil Nitin Mukesh’s love interest is no longer kept out of view. That the girl in question Priyanka Bhatia is very much part of the Mukesh parivar became evident on the night of November 2 when at the Fame Adlabs at a private screening of Jail, Priyanka was prominently present alongside Neil’s parents and brother Naman.

Neil mother and girlfriend sobbed uncontrollably throughout.

“Priyanka and my mom were hysterical with grief. They weren’t looking at just a character being put through a traumatic time. To them it was someone who they both love in pain in front of their eyes,” said Neil.

Neil admits Priyanka is an integral part of his family. “My parents and her parents don’t only know and like one another we also visit one another’s homes constantly. More than lovers we’re friends first. There’s a comfort level in our interaction that makes us very relaxed with one another. We don’t have to hide anything. We meet openly and are very proud of one another. There’s no pressure for marriage on either side. When it happens, it happens. The marital status on the passport would hardly alter anything between us.”

Priyanka has done a course in fashion designing. Neil is open to the idea of Priyanka designing his clothes for his films. “I’d love that. But it should happen on its own. Neither Priyanka nor I want to pressurize anyone to use her skills. But if it happens I’d be very happy to be dressed up by her.”

Another happy happening is the fact that Neil’s colleague Ranbir Kapoor’s film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani releases on the same day as Neil’s Jail.

Says Neil, “Ranbir and I are of course competitors. But there’s no negative rivalry between us. Our respective fathers would kill us if we behaved like two brats fighting for the same roles. I’m proud that Ranbir’s and my grandfather were very close friends. My father and Ranbir’s father adore each other. Ranbir is like my younger brother.”

So is Neil saying Ranbir is no competition?

“Of course he is!” rejoins Neil. “I’d want Ranbir’s film to do as well as mine. Fortunately Jail and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani look like the North and South pole.”

On Tuesday night all of Neil’s forthcoming directors saw Jail at Yashraj Studios, “David Dhawan, Abbas-Mustan, Kunal Kohli and Ken Ghosh saw the film. I think they liked what they saw. So I’m safe in their films.”

cyclone in arabian sea - Cyclone alert for south Gujarat

AHMEDABAD: The weather department has issued a cyclone alert in south Gujarat as the deep depression over Arabian Sea moving in the northerly
direction is expected to cross between Mahua and Dahanu early on Thursday morning.

Director of Indian Meterology Department (IMD), Gujarat Kamaljeet Ray said that the deep depression is currently lying 400 km west of Goa. "The system is currently not a cyclone, but is likely to intesify into a cyclonic storm. It is moving in the northerly direction and will in the same direction for some more time. Afterwards, it is expected to move north-north-eastwards and cross south Gujarat and north Maharashtra coast between Mahuva and Dahanu either late on Wednesday night or early on Thursday morning," said Ray.

Ray said that the weather department has alerted the state government authorities as well as issued port warning. "All fishermen have been advised to stay off the sea," Ray said.

The warning issued on the IMD website said that the deep depression is currently not cyclonic and is moving at a speed of 55-60 kmph. It is expected to intensify and move at 75 kmph.

The low pressure is resulting in a change in weather in south Gujarat region with Dangs, parts of Valsad and Surat district receiving light showered couples with cold breeze on Monday and Tuesday, which brought down the mercury level by a few degrees to 27 from 35 degrees Celsius recorded on Sunday.

Flood control department sources said light showers were experienced throughout the day in most parts of the district. While Umarpada taluka in the district received 2 mm rainfall, other parts in the district including Surat city experienced light drizzles.

Sources said after Diwali, the temperature during the day time gradually reduces, bringing down the night temperature.

Surtis have heaved a sigh of relief with the fall in the temperature. Most of the fun-loving Surtis escaped to Dumas seashore, some 15 km from the city.

Cyclone terror is hurtling towards Gujarat

Ahmedabad: The meteorological department in the city has warned of a cyclonic storm and rainfall at most places in Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, by Wednesday evening. The Met department's forecast comes in the wake of formation of deep depression over the Arabian Sea.At 11:30 am on Tuesday, the deep depression lay over central Arabian Sea 470 km west northwest of Mangalore (420 km southwest of Goa) and 670 km south- southwest of Mumbai.

The Met department has warned that the system is likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm and move north for some time and then north-northeastwards. "It will cross south Gujarat and the north Maharashtra coast between Mahuva and Dahanu in the early hours of November 12," it said.

The Met department has said that under the influence of the cyclonic storm, there would be rainfall at most places in Gujarat, including Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Narmada, Navsari, Bhavnagar, Baroda, Anand, Ahmedabad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli. The Met also warned that sea conditions will remain 'rough to very rough' and has advised fishermen not to venture out to sea.

Velji Masani, president of Akhil Gujarat Macchimar Mahamandal, told DNA that the fisheries department has warned them not to venture out to sea. "We have been stopping fishermen from going to sea," said Masani.

The Met department also forecast that winds at 35 to 45 km per hour, with their speeds rising to 55 km an hour, will blow in from the easterly direction, and along south Gujarat coast.

Jessica Lal case: Manu Sharma back in jail, Delhi Government seeks CCTV footage

New Delhi, Nov 10 (ANI): Manu Sharma, the man serving a life sentence for the murder of model Jessica Lal, returned to the Tihar Jail here on Tuesday, almost two months after being out on parole. Sharma re-entered the jail after generating public ire and controversy for violating his parole terms.

His return to jail came hours after actor Arjun Rampal confirmed that Sharma was partying at Rampal’s nightclub. The Delhi government has reportedly asked for CCTV footage of the actor’s restaurant - the Lap Bar - and deputed some policemen to verify if Sharma, who was out on parole, was indeed present at the bar. Sharma had stated his mother’s illness and late grandfather’s last rites as reasons for asking for parole.

Sharma’s antics have caused a furor, especially after Sharma’s supposedly ill mother was seen attending a function in Chandigarh.

The last two times Jessica Lall’s killer was caught on camera were on February 2, 2007 when he had moved the Supreme Court challenging his conviction by the High Court, and earlier on December 20, 2006 when he had walked into court to hear his fate.

Sharma had cited: ‘Family affairs’ as a reason to avail the first 30 days of parole from September 22 this year. He said he wanted to perform ‘Pind dan’ or ancestral rites of his deceased grandmother, “maintaining social ties with friends and relatives, to attend an aging mother and to maintain his supervision of neglected business.”

Sharma was granted a further thirty-day extension to attend to his business, where he is the MD and currently a major shareholder.

Sharma had clearly used loopholes in the judicial system to his advantage.

Sabrina Lal, Jessica Lal’s sister has questioned Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s reasoning for giving parole to Sharma. (ANI)

In real life her marital status may still be single, but a fake certificate prepared here suggests that Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif is the better half of local BJP MLA Ramesh Mendola.

A marriage certificate approved by Indore Municipal Corporation claims that the 24-year-old actress married the local MLA on December 2, 2008 and got the same registered with the civic body on December 11 the same year.

"The marriage certificate is totally fake and was not issued by the municipal body. It must be an act of some mischievous persons," IMC marriage registrar Dr Natwar Sarda told reporters.

"It appears that somebody first scanned the IMC marriage certificate and then with the help of some software showed the bollywood actress and MLA as husband and wife," Sarda said.

The IMC has taken the issue seriously and will soon lodge a complaint with the police so that the persons who have done it can be booked for the crime.

BlackBerry maker Research in Motion (RIM) has made it easier for companies to make money from mobile applications by allowing them to drop prepackaged advertising and micropayment applications into their software.

The two new application programming interfaces (APIs) were among a number of tools RIM announced in San Francisco at its second developers' conference.

Overall, the tools were aimed at making it easier to write applications for the BlackBerry and to integrate them so that users' experience "flowed", said Jim Balsillie, co-CEO at RIM.

Two other key announcements were the launch of geo-location APIs based on cellular radio towers, to provide in-building triangulation of users' whereabouts, and "push" APIs that allowed tighter integration with alarm, alert and notification applications.

RIM said it would support Adobe Flash animation and video management software on BlackBerries. It also said Dreamweaver developers would be able to create BlackBerry widgets directly. This turns millions of Dreamweaver web programmers into potential BlackBerry programmers.

Oracle chief architect Ted Farrell said many firms were trying to push data to where it was needed, and increasingly this meant to mobile platforms. Oracle had developed Fusion, a way of collecting data and formatting it for different mobile platforms.

Oracle worked with RIM on two applications, one a mobile browser and another a mobile client. Using Oracle Application Development Framework, developers could target their apps to pre-defined BlackBerry handsets with a minimum of coding.

Jeff McDowell, RIM's senior vice-president for business marketing and software alliances, said the Oracle Fusion and Adobe announcements were important to RIM and its customers as they were standard tools that anyone could use to write programmes for BlackBerries.

He said that smartphones were becoming application delivery systems. "Voice is just another app," he said.

McDowell said there were fewer and fewer "island" apps. Applications increasingly had to link to others to provide the rich functionality demanded by users, but without losing the cost-effectiveness and robust security demanded by CFOs and CIOs respectively.

If there had been any doubt that Ranbir Kapoor, the latest heartthrob of bollywood who played the adorable character of Prem in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ opposite sizzling hot Katrina Kaif, was the next superstar of tinsel town must be clear now when Shah Rukh Khan gets dumped due to him.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that director Rajkumar Santoshi, who was writing a script for Shah Rukh Khan to make a film with him, has discarded the idea in favor of making a sequel to ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ with Ranbir Kapoor.

Santoshi has dates from Ranbir Kapoor for next year, and if decided favorably by all concerned, the ace director might go for the kill with the actor and shoot the flick next year itself.

Sources close to Rajkumar Santoshi say that the producers of Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani’ are putting pressure on the director to go ahead with the sequel as soon as possible to encash on the public hysteria generated by the astounding success of last flick.

Now, because Rajkumar Santoshi has struck gold with a comedy film in association with Ranbir Kapoor, the market forces (read money bags—financiers, distributors etc) want him to encash the trend and continue with another comic flick.

It may be recalled that Ranbir Kapoor endeared himself to the audiences with his superb comic timing in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ and the movie got a terrific response at the box office. The crackling chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif has been universally admired.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani Part 2 in the offing!

A man isn’t even free to decide what he wants to do anymore. This is probably what is running in Rajkumar Santoshi’s mind right now. The director wants to do a film starring Shahrukh Khan or Sunny Deol but he’s being forced to make the sequel of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani right away by the producers Tauranis.

Even though Santoshi wants to do something different, the market pressure may finally get to him and he will have to take Ranbir Kapoor’s dates for next year. While he denied the news at first stating that he never succumbs to market pressures, Santoshi added that he is being advised to do the sequel to Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

So even though his project with Sunny was almost ready to roll and had already embarked on writing a script for SRK, guess Ranbir will take the director away.

Himesh Reshammiya: Run time of Radio is 2 hours, not 3

On Monday morning, Himesh Reshammiya and others associated with Radio were in for a surprise. They woke up with a news break which declared that the running length of Radio was 3 hours. In today's times, when shorter movies are ruling the roost and anything above 2.5 hours is considered to be nothing less than sacrilege, it was but natural that a news item like this was a cause for worry. More so because it had no truth to it.

Fumes Himesh, "This is figment of someone's imagination. Radio spans 1 hour 55 minutes, not 3 hours as a section of media is indicating. It is a plain lie and malicious. I have no clue where this came from."

With the declaration coming from the horse's mouth, we hope the rumourmongers would now have to think of something better.

Directed by Ishaan Trivedi, Radio stars Sonal Sehgal and Shenaz Treasuryvala as the leading ladies. The film releases all over on 3rd December.

Here are 10 tips to help you work your new Motorola Droid

1) Hold down the home button and a “quick launch” menu will appear. This will list your most recent 6 apps used so you can find your apps quicker.

2) To mount the USB drive in Windows, pull down the notification menu, choose “USB Storage”, and then choose “Mount”. This allows you to place the SD card in your phone as a drive in your computer, making it easy to transfer files from your PC to your Motorola Droid and vice versa.

3) For GV, ensure that your contacts and pad dialing are set to the format 1(555)555-1234. If you omit the 1 or the area code on local calls, GV won’t work.

4) When using the onscreen touch keypad on your Motorola Droid, hid them by flicking them down from the top and simply tap the field again to get them to return.

5) Be careful when using a pouch holster for your new Motorola Droid. If it contains magnetics, it may turn your Motorola Droid on “car mode.” This will eat up your battery life quicker than you think.

6) To set an mp3 song as your ringtone, upload the song on to your Motorola Droid. While the song is playing choose “menu” then “set as ring tone.” Do this for every song you would like to use as a ringtone. Set different ringtones for your contacts by going in to your address book and selecting a ringtone from the list you created.

7) One of the best Motorola Droid tips includes the copy/paste function. Hold down on any text field, and the “edit text” menu will appear. Select “Copy and Paste” functions as needed.

8) Need a vibrator on your phone? Go to settings-sound display and check the phone vibrate box if your phone is toggling between complete silence and ringing.

9) Like a picture on your web browser? Save it to your Motorola Droid! Tap and hold the picture, and then select “save”

10) If you like a certain Web site, you can add a shortcut to that Web site to your Motorola Droid’s home screen. Bookmark the site, tap anywhere on the home screen and hold down. The menu that will guide you to adding a shortcut will pop up.

Google launching free videoconferencing

NEW DELHI: Google is all set to strengthen its voice and video chat capabilities. The voice and video chat feature in the company's the email service, Gmail, is currently limited to one-to-one communication, however, Google wants to broaden this capability to more than two participants.

The Google Apps product manager Rishi Chandra told SFGate that Google is set to roll out its first update in a long line of updates that will include multi-user video conferencing.

Chandra told the web site, “This (current Gmail capability) is the first step in a much broader set of features we hope to roll out over the next six to 12 months around video (and voice) chat capabilities.” He added, "It’s a great opportunity for us to push that space along."

Google acquired Web and video conferencing software in 2007 from Swedish company Marratech.

Comedian Katt Williams Arrested for Burglary and Trespassing

Comedian Katt Williams was arrested Sunday night in Atlanta on charges of burglary and criminal trespassing. According to police authorities, Williams allegedly broke into a house and attempted to steal jewelry and other items.

The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office reports Micah S. Katt Williams was arrested following a call from an unidentified homeowner Sunday night reporting an intruder had “gained entry by breaking into the home, and items were taken from the residence.”Katt Williams was identified as the suspect in the burglary and booked into the Coweta County Jail. Williams has been charged with burglary and criminal trespassing and is expect to be arraigned on Monday afternoon.

This is hardly the first time Williams has tangled with the law. The comedian and rapper was sentenced to three years’ probation in 2006 after being caught carrying a concealed firearm in his briefcase at the Los Angeles International Airport. A year ago, Williams was arrested again after police found a gun in his car during a traffic stop in New York City. Those charges were later dismissed.
