Inside the ransacked Pakistani mansion where Osama bin Laden was killed, blood was splattered on the floor, bed linens were in disarray, and ABC News captured it in photos and video, scoring the first big exclusive of the aftermath.

The morning after President Obama announced that Bin Laden had been killed by U.S. special forces near Pakistan's capital of Islamabad, the network broadcast footage from inside the mansion on "Good Morning America." ABC correspondent Nick Schifrin, who has been stationed in Pakistan for years, appeared on the morning telecast and said that he had just returned from a tour inside the compound and reported that the pictures and video showed the Abbottabad compound where the raid took place.

"Looking at the video, it's a good TV moment," Schifrin said in a phone interview with the Los Angeles Times. "There's something about seeing it all for yourself."

Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden (Arabic: أسامة بن محمد بن عوض بن لادن‎, ʾUsāmah bin Muḥammad bin ʿAwaḍ bin Lādin; March 10, 1957 – May 2, 2011)[1][2][3] was the founder of the jihadist organization al-Qaeda, responsible for the September 11 attacks on the United States and numerous other mass-casualty attacks against civilian and military targets. Bin Laden was on the American Federal Bureau of Investigation's lists of Ten Most Wanted Fugitives and Most Wanted Terrorists for his involvement in the 1998 US embassy bombings.[4][5][6] From 2001 to 2011, bin Laden and his organization had been major targets of the War on Terror.

On May 1, 2011, U.S. President Barack Obama ordered a raid of bin Laden's suspected location in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The operation was successfully carried out by United States Navy SEALs, with intelligence support from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).[2][7] During the 40 minute raid, bin Laden was shot in the head by the SEALs, the wounds of which were fatal. The SEALs commenced with intelligence searches of the building after which his body was taken into custody. Genetic testing and facial recognition were performed to positively identify bin Laden and his body was deposited into the sea for burial less than 24 hours after death

In 1974, at the age of 17, Osama married Najwa Ghanem at Latakia. According to CNN national security correspondent David Ensore, as of 2002 Osama had married four women and fathered roughly 25 or 26 children.[26] Other sources report that he has fathered anywhere from 12 to 24 children.

Mohammed bin Laden was killed in 1967 in an airplane crash in Saudi Arabia when his American pilot misjudged a landing.[28] Osama's eldest half-brother, Salem bin Laden, the subsequent head of the bin Laden family, was killed in 1988 near San Antonio, Texas in the United States, when he accidentally flew a plane into power lines.

The FBI described Osama bin Laden as tall and thin, between 6'4" and 6'6" (193– 198 cm) in height and weighing about 165 pounds (75 kg). Interviewees of Lawrence Wright, on the other hand, describe him as quite slender, but not particularly tall. He had an olive complexion and was left-handed, usually walking with a cane. He wore a plain white turban and no longer donned the traditional Saudi male headdress. Bin Laden was described as soft-spoken and mild mannered in demeanor.

Many of bin Laden's children went to Iran after the September 11 attacks and as of 2010 Iranian authorities reportedly continued to control their movement.

News: It off course is a current hot news item, so I want to know the latest news: is he really dead? What happened? Who killed him? Those kind of questions spring to mind.
Videos and pictures: I want to see what is going on, so videos would be nice and off course we want to see pictures.
History and related stuff: Why is this Osama Bin Laden so important? What makes it that people are dancing on the streets because he died?
User friendliness: Finally friendliness, how nice is the page that I am looking at, did they “get” my user intent and is it showing me the stuff I want to see?
Social: Finally we off course are looking for social integration. Have our friends noticed the news already?

The first look

News articles

So we start off early in the morning when the news has just broken. Google Trends doesn’t have any clue of what is going on at that time, but Google does. They have 13,3 million results ready for us, where Bing has 7.09 million. The search giant places a Google News block on top of the results. Bing not surprisingly does the same.

Google brings ‘only’ three major sources and then a lot of related articles after the click. They also show over 51000 realtime search results. That is, they are showing the link to the real time updates, not the updates themselves.

Almost four hours later: what has changed?

I took another look almost four hours later to see if the engines had changed anything. On both engines the results look similar to earlier this morning. The News-blocks are on top again, followed by the Wikipedia result.

Google still has five news related articles there, even though they are not all the same as this morning. Bing still only has one. But Bing does have the official Whitehouse page, with Obama’s statement on it there, which is a very nice move.

The biggest change definitely is on Bing and has everything to do with videos The “Videos of Osama Bin Laden” now shows four new videos. There is an ABC News video and three different videos with the President’s statement, from CNN, CNBC and Reuters. So Bing did a really good job there. What is interesting is that Bing seems to be placing the length of the video below it, but that actually is not the length, but the time the video was pushed out.

Social

First something I noticed on both search engines, which is not specific for this search, but something more in general. Both Google and Bing do not have a “share” option. Not for a specific result, but also not for the search in general.

When it comes to Bing’s results and social we can be very clear about that: there is nothing social here. No connections, no Facebook results (Why not? They have a deal with Facebook after all!) and no Twitter connection whatsoever.

Google has its social circle results in there. Even though it is pushed down to the bottom of the page, at least it is there.

User experience

Overall it again looks like Google and Bing are pretty close to each other. But also again the overall “feel” of the Bing results is better. They seem more up-to-date without them maybe actually being that much more up-to-date.

Multi-lingual actor Abbas is all set to make a comeback in Sandalwood after ten years

Born in Kolkata, brought up in Bangalore, educated in Mumbai and settled in Chennai — that’s actor Abbas’ description in short. The multi-lingual actor is flooded with offers from Tamil, Telugu and Kannada industries and is all excited about returning to the Kannada industry after ten years.

The good looking actor is playing a pivotal role in the Kannada movie Appu and Pappu, which will hit the screens in May. The film features an orang-utan for the first time in the history of Indian cinema.

“When I heard the script of Appu and Pappu, it sounded interesting and hence, I became a part of the film. I am touched by the warmth of the film unit. Our journey to Cambodia for shooting was really fun and we bonded like a family,” recalls Abbas.

Is the movie inspired from the Hollywood flick Dunston Checks In? “Yes, but the storyline is totally different. Dunston... deals with comedy, but Appu... is about the sentiments of a father and mother,” avers Abbas.

The talented artiste is also acting in Ramdev, which will be produced in Tamil and Telugu. Directed by S K Basheed, the movie is slated to release in May. “Ramdev is a love triangle with a new concept, which has shades of the Bollywood hit Dhadkan,” he reveals. He is also busy with another Tamil and Telugu consignment Chori Chori, the shooting for which will finish in a few days.

“My journey in this glittery world started in 1994 and it’s been really interesting and memorable. I have acted with almost all the great artistes like Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Ajith and Madhavan and have learnt many things from them,” he says modestly.
He is all praises for Sandalwood. “Kannada industry is now full of young blood and innovative ideas. Some experiments are also going on which is a positive trend,” he feels.

When asked about the secret behind his good physique, he replies, “I do yoga everyday for an hour and go cycling on Sundays for nearly 40 kilometres. I also play football and visit the gym frequently. These things help me keep fit.”

50 city cinemas theatres to show IPL matches

It is cricket-ainment time at cinema halls across India, with nearly 650 screens gearing up for live telecasts of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, which will begin from Friday and continue for more than six weeks. Sources said that the final number of screens could cross 700. Cine-goers will get to watch matches without commercial breaks and also avail of other incentives. Topmost among them is master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s autographed bat, which will be circulated across all cinemas and later auctioned. Sanjay Gaikwad, of UFO Moviez, said, “A bat Tendulkar has used will be auctioned off.’’ The funds will go to Apnalaya, an NGO endorsed by him.

Tendulkar also auctioned off the first theatre ticket for the matches. From a base price of Rs 5 lakh it went for Rs 11 lakh. The money will also go to Apnalaya. Tendulkar said, “This is a very good initiative and if high-content cricket reaches the remotest areas of the country more and more youngsters will be encouraged to play the game.’’

In Mumbai, about 50 cinema halls will screen matches, including Cinemax, New Excelsior, Roxy, Meghraj (Vashi), Gem (Bandra), Inox, Fame, PVR, Big and Broadway (Kandivli).

While the cinemas are geared up for the games, there is a small hitch in opening the a dva n c e b o o k - ings. Inox cinemas’ vice-president (marketing) Harshvardhan Gangurde said, “We are all set, but await a formal notification from the state government on taxes. Otherwise, things are in place.’’ There will be no entertainment tax exemption on IPL tickets. Gaikwad added, “The government will be charging about 20 to 34%, which is the same for any film ticket.’’ Sources said tickets would cost Rs 250 to Rs 300, the cost of an average movie ticket on weekends.

Some cinemas will offer alcohol. Devang Sampat, vice president, Cinemax Cinemas, said, “Corporate bookings have started and we are offering alcohol with them.’’

Most team sponsors have already done block bookings for the entire IPL season. A source said, “There is a lot of demand for Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, who probably have the maximum sponsors on board. Last season, KKR matches got the maximum eyeballs. With Tendulkar in tremendous form, there will definitely be a mad rush for his matches too.’’ Cinemas will offer cricketing merchandise and have cheerleaders, celebrities and live bands. Gaikwad said, “We are trying to bring the stadium into the theatre. There are lot of small towns where bookings are full and we have to add screens. In Nagpur it’s house-full even before the tournament begins.’’ In some states, including Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, cinema halls will not be able to screen the matches as film producers have objected because there would be fewer screens to show local movies. Oscar producers urge viewers to tune in early

LOS ANGELES – The people behind Sunday's Oscars show are urging people to tune in early for one of the program's best sequences.

Bill Mechanic, who is producing the awards ceremony with Adam Shankman, promised "the most dynamic opening, from drama to spectacle to humor, that has ever been staged."

Shankman said the show will be funny, lively and fun.

"People hate it when I say this," he said, "but I always say this is the best-dressed reality competition show on TV."

The two men joined film academy President Tom Sherak on the red carpet outside the Kodak Theatre for a brief news conference Friday about the big show.

Dismissing a gloomy weather forecast, Sherak said definitively that it will not rain at Oscar time. Mechanic quipped that it would "rain humor." And Shankman said that when you produce the Oscars, there's no one you can't call, so "I just called God."

"Like everything in Hollywood, it's a negotiation," he said.

The show will be heavy on humor, thanks to the hosting duo of Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, Mechanic said, adding that the Oscar show hasn't had two hosts since 1928.

Expect "greater emotional content" too, he said: "We want this to touch people."

The Oscar honchos also announced a new round of presenters: Tom Hanks, Robin Williams, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker, Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana and Pedro Almodovar will appear on the telecast. And they urged viewers to tune in at the top of the program, which begins at 8 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on ABC

On 2nd March 2010, India's famous TV "SUN TV" telecasted a video, which reveals that Nithyananda had illegal relationship with one of the actress. This video created shock waves all over the country and his followers were angry and frustrated to know that he was a fraud. As soon as they hear the news, they attacked all of Nithayanada's Ashram branches.

Macclesfield manager keith alexander has died

England and Egypt will wear black armbands at their Wembley friendly on Wednesday as a mark of respect for Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander, who died on Tuesday at the age of 53, the FA said on.

Alexander, who had brain surgery seven years ago, died hours after Macclesfield's League Two (fourth division) defeat at Notts County on Tuesday night.

He had been involved in football for more than 35 years, initially as a player with Grimsby Town, Stockport County and Mansfield Town along with many non-League clubs and played international football for St Lucia.

He then became the first black manager in the Football League when he took over at Lincoln City in 1993 before spells at Peterborough and then Macclesfield.

Next Saturday's game against Hereford United would have been his 100th with the Cheshire club.

"He was a larger than life character -- an honest man, a splendid man and he will be missed by people in all walks of life," assistant manager Gary Simpson told Sky Sports News

Town's club Statement is: "It is our sad duty to report that Keith Alexander passed away t after arriving home from Macclesfield Town's game at Notts County last night.
