Julia is rapidly developing a reputation as one of the leading young photographers in the country. She has won a large number of awards, and her images have been hung in the National Portrait Gallery, London, at Paris-Photo, at Photo-London, and shown at Arles. She has also had solo exhibitions in London, and contributed to a group show in New York. She has also been profiled in many professional and popular photographic magazines.

Julia was born in Bremen, Germany to a German mother and an English father. The family then moved to the United States, and back to Germany, before moving to England in 1986. Julia now lives in London.

After graduating with a Diploma in photography from Berkshire College of Art and Design, Julia spent five years as a freelance assistant. They are among the thousands of species discovered by marine biologists in an ambitious plan to record and name every living thing in the seas.

So far it has recorded 120,000 species but believes there could be as many as 250,000.

The finds include the deepest-living creature-ever discovered.

Whenever someone wrecks a car, it's always a sad situation. They have to deal with insurance and repairs which usually cost up to a few thousand dollars.

What's even sadder is when someone wrecks an exotic car. That's when the repair costs start to make you weep.

But even an ordinary exotic crash doesn't compare to the accidents we're about to show you. These wrecks are in a league of their own. They involve cars that are so unique and rare, only billionaires can easily afford them.

Crash No. 10. Bugatti EB110 $500,000

ou know these are expensive crashes when a $500,000 super-exotic barely makes it to #10 on the list. This 1992 Bugatti EB110 was being driven by a mechanic as part of its annual checkup. He claims there was an oil slick on the road which caused him to lose control and crash into a pole. The owner of the Bugatti is a famous "feel good" guru named Emile Ratelband. Not sure how good he was feeling after this wreck.

Crash No. 9. Pagani Zonda C12 S $650,000

Only 15 Zonda C12 S were ever built but that didn't stop this owner from driving it like a bat out of hell. He crashed this beauty in the wee morning hours while driving in Hong Kong.

Crash No. 8. Mercedes Benz SL 300 - $750,000

The SL 300 "Gullwing" represents the very finest of Mercedes. It is THE classic car. Unfortunately, there's been more than one crash involving this masterpiece. You're looking at a car that was once worth nearly a million dollars. The owner thought it would be a good idea to race it on the streets of Mexico. No, not a street race, but the annual "La Carrera Panamericana" race which is limited to classic cars produced before 1965.

The guy below was even less fortunate. He would never consider putting his car in harm's way intentionally, but was rammed into by a landscape truck owned by the city of Seattle. The funny part - the name on the side of the truck read "Impact Landscaping".

Crash No. 7. Jaguar XJ220 - $1 Million

Here we have our first million dollar crash (and we're only #7 on the list). The XJ220 once held the record for highest top speed for a production car (217 mph). Along with this speed came a couple of crashes. This first one shows the classic pose of the owner next to the car, dumbfounded by what he just did. This guy is void of all emotion, staring blankly into space, thinking of how he's gonna explain this to the wife.

Here's another crash, this time with more damage. Not only with the car, but the owner's pride. He crashed it in front of all his friends at the golf course. We hope he was able to yell "Fore!" before plowing into the ditch.

Crash No. 6. McLaren F1 - $1.25 Million

The McLaren F1 took over the Jaguar XJ220 not only in price, but also highest top speed at 231 mph. (broken only in 2005). There were only 107 ever produced, and several destroyed. Including this one driven by Rowan Atkinson, the popular actor who plays "Mr. Bean". Atkinson has the unfortunate history of crashing multiple exotic cars, including an Aston Martin.

Crash No. 5. Ferrari Enzo - $1.3 Million

The Ferrari Enzo sure seems to attract a lot of crashes. This is surprising considering the price tag. You would think the owners would be more careful, but we've documented at least 14 crashes involving the Enzo. That's nearly $20 million worth of crashes! The most famous was the Malibu crash of 2005, when the driver, "Fat Steven" Eriksson crashed the car at 196 mph. Below is the result.

The Enzo has proven itself to be a supremely safe vehicle, having been in at least 2 crashes with speeds over 150mph where the driver survived or walked away.

Crash No. 4. Bugatti Veyron - $1.6 Million

The Bugatti Veyron is the most expensive production car in history. And unbelievably, it didn't even make the top three on this list. Only 300 are expected to be produced and already two have crashed. Below is the first one. The driver thought it was okay to speed at 100 mph in the rain. He only had the car for one week.

And here is the 2nd crash. The driver, again with too much speed ran off the road.

Crash No. 3. 1959 Ferrari 250 GT TDF - $1.65 Million

Now we start getting into the extremely rare classic cars. The owners who are willing to take these machines on the road are just plain crazy. The ones that take them on the track are even crazier. This 1959 Ferrari 250 GT "Tour de France" crashed into a wall at the Shell Ferrari-Maserati Historic Challenge back in 2003.

Once again you can see the distant stare on the owner's face.

Crash No. 2. Ferrari 250 GT Spyder - $10 Million

Just when you thought it couldn't get much more expensive, the damage has been multiplied. The record price for a 1961 250 GT California Spyder at auction was set on May 18, 2008 when a black one was sold for $10,894,900. So what is one doing buried in the sand? The unlucky owner had it stored near the beach when a Hurricane hit.

Crash No. 1. Ferrari 250 GTO - $28.5 Million

We now present you with the most expensive car crash ever. Touted as the Ferrari that most successfully embodies the traits of the marque, the 1962-64 Ferrari 250 GTO became the most valuable car in the world. In 2008 an anonymous English buyer bought a 250 GTO at auction for a record $28,500,000. The crash below represents a car worth more than the combined value of all 14 Enzos involved in accidents. It is simply unbelievable that an owner would even dare take this car on the road.

After a track event involving historic cars, the owner of this rare beast rammed into the back of another car after traffic slowed down.

Cyclop Baby (unidentified baby - India)

On 2006, this baby was born with a only one eye in India. Medical staff who helped deliver the child believe that the child's condition was caused by an experimental anti-cancer drug. Another cause written in the report by the hospital was that it could also be the result of a chromosomal disorder. The child was diagnosed with a rare chromosomal disorder, known as cyclopia. She was born with a single eye in the center of her forehead, no nose and her brain fused into a single hemisphere. With such severe deformities, it was a miracle that the girl survived even a few minutes after delivery. The baby died days later.

13-inch Tailed Man (Chandre Oram - India)

With a 13-inch tail, Chandre Oram, a tea-estate worker, has become quite an object of devotion in his native Alipurduar, West Bengal and believes that Hanuman is manifest in him. "I was born on Ram Navami (birthday of Lord Ram). People have a lot of faith in me - they get cured of severe ailments when they touch my tail. I believe I can do a lot of good to those who come to me with devotion," says the man, before whom thousands of people queue up each day to seek blessings. In a corner of the courtyard of his home, Oram has set up a small Hanuman temple, where he receives offerings on Ram Navami, which he later offers to the deity.

Frog-like Baby (unidentified baby - Nepal)

On 2006, this bizarre-looking baby was born in Charikot, the headquarters of Dolakha district, attracting a huge number of onlookers to witness the astonishing sight.

The neck-less baby with its head almost totally sunk into the upper part of the body and with extraordinarily large eyeballs literally popping out of the eye-sockets, was born to Nir Bahadur Karki and Suntali Karki at the Gaurishnkar Hospital in Charikot. The Karki couple is a permanent resident of Dolakha's Bhirkot VDC.

The bizarre baby, however, died after half an hour of its birth, Suntali, the mother, informed. It was taken to the hospital after its death. The news about such a baby being brought to the hospital spread like wildfire and there were hundreds gathered at the hospital to have a look. The police had to be deployed to control the crowd.

The baby weighed 2kg at birth and was born after the normal nine-month gestation period. Suntali, already a mother of two normal daughters, was not suffering from any illness during the pregnancy. Nir Bahadur, the father, says he does not feel any remorse for the newly-born baby's death. "I am happy that nothing happened to my wife," he said.

NOTE: Our readers, Becca and Andrew, report us that "the baby has a condition called anencephaly, a neural tube defect (like the cyclops baby), with no proper brain formation. The baby would have died a few days later. That's why women are advised to take folate in early pregnancy."

Nipple on the foot (unidentified 22-year-old woman - Brazil)

The bizarre paper describing the case reads: "A 22-year-old woman sought medical care for a lesion in the plantar region of her left foot, a well-formed nipple surrounded by areola and hair. Microscopic examination of the dermis showed hair follicles, eccrine glands, and sebaceous glands. Fat tissue was noted at the base of the lesion. Clinical and histopathologic findings were consistent with the diagnosis of supernumerary breast tissue, also known as pseudomamma. To our knowledge, this is the first report of supernumerary breast tissue on the foot."

Baby with Three Arms (Liu Junjie - China)

This 2-month-old baby named Liu Junjie from Anhui Province, China, was born with a third arm on 2006. Doctors successfully removed the extremely rare and well-developed third arm, but the baby required long-term physical therapy to gain function in his remaining hand, which has no palm and flexes in either direction. "We're hoping to exchange information with doctors who've dealt with similar cases anywhere in the world," said Chen, head of the orthopedics department at Shanghai Children's Medical Center. "This is so rare that we have virtually no information to go on."

Feet facing backwards (Wang Fang - China)

Wang Fang, 27, of Chongqing city in China, was born with her feet facing the wrong way. She has learned to live with her condition without problems and recently refused a disability pension by being classified as disabled. "I can run faster than most of my friends and have a regular job as a waitress in the family restaurant. There is no reason to class me as disabled."

World's Largest Hand (Lui Hua - China)

Lui Hua suffers from a rare condition known as macrodactyly. When he was hospitalized in Shanghai on July 2007, his left thumb measured 10.2 inches and his index finger measured close to 12. On July 20 surgeons undertook a seven-hour operation to reduce the size of Liu's fingers and thumb. Doctors removed 11 pounds of flesh and bone in the procedure. A second surgery is scheduled to take place. Enlarged limbs can be caused by a number of medical conditions. Lymphedema is perhaps the most common cause and results in some extraordinarily enlarged limbs.
