MouseHunt: Charm Pack #1 released

2011-01-30T14:21:00.010+08:00

At last, Moustachio is sharing his secret of how to craft charms! The process involves two new, unique crafting items: Charmbits and Orbs.

Charmbits are a strange combination of science and magic. They are impossibly small particles that hold the magical effect each charm has. The amount of Charmbits needed to craft a charm vary depending on what specific charm you are making. Moustachio sells Charmbits at his shoppe in the Mountain for 25 gold each.

Orbs are made from special glass and act as a container for Charmbits. There are four different grades of Orb, which are: Flawed, Simple, Flawless and Divine. More powerful charms require a higher grade of Orb. Mice have stolen Moustachio's supply of orbs, so if you're looking to find some you'll have to hunt specific breeds. Orbs are somewhat scarce and can be hard to find, however, they are tradable on the Marketplace.

Types of Orbs
It's important to remember that all orbs are tradable on the marketplace. If you find orbs you don't need, consider selling them on the marketplace for some extra gold. If you need a lot of orbs, visit the marketplace to buy some from other players.

Flawed Orb
The lowest grade of orb - used in crafting rudimentary, low-power charms.
Dropped by a few of the mice indigenous to the Gnawnia region.

Simple Orb
Made of regular glass - used in crafting medium-strength charms.
Dropped by a variety of mice in several locations.

Flawless Orb
Made of quality glass - used in crafting high-strength charms.
Dropped by a few mice in the Kingdom.

Divine Orb

Made of enchanted crystal - used in crafting the most powerful charms.
Hard to find, dropped by strong or rare mice.

The type of Orb needed depends on the type of charm being crafted. In general, more powerful charms require a higher grade of orb while less powerful charms require a lower grade of orb. Some orbs are hard to find, so remember to check marketplace frequently to see if other hunters are selling any.

New Discovered Charms
All seven of these new charms are tradable on the marketplace.

Rotten Charm
Made from rotten pieces of dried up cheese, this charm's funky odour adds power to your trap by causing a mouse to become slightly queasy right as they attempt to steal your bait. This powerful stench is also known to penetrate bait, increasing the chance of it turning stale.

Super Rotten Charm
Imbued with rock-hard Stale SUPER|brie+, this charm emits a powerful stench that puts a mouse into a severely disorientated state. The intense odour also increases the chance of your bait turning stale should you fail to attract a mouse.

Prospector's Charm
With a center of hard meteorite, this mining charm provides +200 power and a 1% power bonus to your trap. When used in the Mountain, this charm's prospecting ability attracts more Gold and Diamond mice. When used alongside SUPER|brie+ in the Mountain, these charms also increase the attraction of Silvertail mice.

Antiskele Charm
This charm is packed with concentrated Radioactive Sludge, which is highly corrosive to bone. Skeleton Mice in the Catacombs fear these charms and will stay clear of your trap while you have one armed.

Scientist's Charm
Powered by small fragments of Living Shard, this technologically advanced charm is scientifically engineered to increase both the chance of mice dropping Radioactive Blue Potions, as well as the quantity dropped while hunting in the Burroughs' Laboratory.

Empowered Anchor Charm
This charm is created by bonding Charmbits with Scrap Metal to forge a mighty anchor that increases the stability of a trap's weapon, providing a significant power bonus. The anchor also prevents being washed out of Balack's Cove when capturing a Riptide Mouse.

Dragonbane Charm
This charm acts as a hidden surprise to any Dragon Mice bold enough to come near your trap. When activated, the charm bursts out a jarring cold blast of air, strong enough to disable the Dragon's molten breath, making the Dragon easier to catch. This charm is only consumed when a Dragon Mouse is encountered.

Do visit the Marketplace to see what orbs and charms other hunters are selling!

MouseHunt: Ronza returns with Moustachio the Charmer

2011-01-16T14:28:00.037+08:00

On the 12th January 2011, Ronza returns to Gnawnia from her search for Moustachio the Charmer.

For over a year Ronza was searching the globe for the long-lost Moustachio, a wise researcher and retired trapsmith. After years of research, Moustachio has perfected a new trap component called Charms. With his return to Gnawnia, he now resides in the Mountains where he sells this new type of trap component to hunters.

Charms are a magical trap component that add unique stat bonuses to your trap and are consumed as you hunt. Visit his Charm Shoppe in the Mountains to learn more.

Ronza's Traveling Shoppe are now open!!!
Ronza found more than Moustachio in her travels, with her she has also brought a stock of rare and unique items to sell to the hunters of Gnawnia. Ronza will be here for only one week and many of her items will never be sold again, so make sure to stop by her shop to browse.

In an effort to have as many hunters at the ready as possible, the King now allows hunters to purchase traps before they meet the point requirement, however, you WILL NOT be able to arm the trap until you have reached the required points. Keep this in mind while browsing Ronza's Shoppe.

Crate of Ultimate Luck Charms
Redeem your Ronza Voucher from the 2010 Great Winter Hunt for this crate of Moustachio's Ultimate Lucky Trap Charms! In order to use the charms, you'll first need to visit Moustachio's Charm Shoppe in the Gnawnia Mountains to purchase a new piece of equipment that allows your trap to use charms. Your trap will have a +20 luck bonus while having an Ultimate Luck Charm armed, but one will be used each time you encounter a mouse. Use them wisely hunters!

Pneumatic Tube Trap
This physical trap has an impressive 18 luck as well as a whopping 20% power bonus! The Pneumatic Tube Trap makes a great trap for newer hunters looking to increase their loot drops while catching more mice! Make sure to keep arms and legs clear while the vacuum tube is active!

Rewers Riposte
A very impressive tactical trap featuring droids trained by one of the Kingdom's most devoted hunters. Purchase this trap to enjoy an impressive 25 luck, which is sure to come in handy in Furoma, Whisker Woods, Nerg Plains and more!

Arcane Blast Trap
The Arcane Blast Trap is the first ever limited-edition arcane weapon and has the highest luck bonus of any arcane weapon. This mysterious trap uses concentrated energy to blast mice to another realm.

Bacon Base
This polycarbonate slab is cleverly painted to have the look of bacon! Its inciting design gives the base a high attraction bonus of 15% making it a great base for the beginning MouseHunter.

Seasonal Base
Carved from the magical soil of Zugzwang's Seasonal Garden, this base features an impressive 6 luck and 8% attraction bonus. The Seasonal Base also has a unique camouflage property that gives it an additional 18% power bonus within the Seasonal Garden, a handy property for Lord and Lady MouseHunters seeking to capture a Chess Master Mouse.

Runic Base
For your everyday hunting needs, the Runic Base has 5 luck and a high power bonus of 12%. However, perhaps its most useful property is that it begins to glow while in Bristle Woods. The glowing runic symbols increase both the chances of a mouse dropping Runes, as well as adding a small chance of receiving an extra Rune.

Tiki Base Blueprints
These are very special blueprints, drawn by Ronza herself. She plans to frequently sell them when she visits, and the King has agreed to allow the blueprints to be exchanged in the marketplace both during and after Ronza's visit. Due to the limited supply she makes for each visit, Ronza will not sell the blueprints to any hunter who already owns 5 copies. The blueprints outline how to upgrade the Tribal Base into a Tiki Base, which has a +6 luck bonus when hunting in Cape Clawed, Elub Shore, Nerg Plains and Derr Dunes.

Rockstar Mice Aboard Ronza's Ship
Rockstar mice are partying aboard Ronza's Ship! Their bait preference is Rockforth, a flavour of cheese packed with rock n' roll spirit! Ronza usually has a few crates of Rockforth Cheese in her cargo holds, however, it is frequently raided by the mice while she is distracted during her landing procedures. By hunting the mice on her ship, you'll be able to find some Rockforth Cheese to hunt for a Rockstar.
Shrink Ray Trap
A new trap for begining MouseHunters is now available for both purchase and from the King's Prize Shoppe. The Shrink Ray Trap has 1,000 power, no point requirement and shrinks mice to miniature in second flat!

Meet Moustachio the Charmer!

As a young trapsmith, Moustachio was a trusted friend of the King. Upon retiring from the trapsmith profession, Moustachio went on a journey to research a new type of trap component he called "Charms". Moustachio has successfully completed his research and has returned to Gnawnia where he now resides in the Mountains and sells these new trap charms.

Visit Moustachio's Charm Shoppe in the Mountains and purchase a Pine Charm Conduit to add to your trap. Upon purchasing the conduit, it will be added to your trap and you are now capable of using charms!

Moustachio is currently selling a few basic charms that can increase the power, attraction and luck of your trap. Charms are consumed as you hunt. Pay attention to the "consumed upon" stat of each charm to know exactly when it will be used.

There is much more to charms than what is currently available! In time, Moustachio may share the secret of how to craft your own charms that have unique abilities.

Ronza finally left from Gnawnia on 19th January 2011.

Festive Disaster!!! - The Festive Comet is invaded!!!
It happened on the 29th November 2010 when the banner above suddenly changed.
The Great Winter Hunt of 2010 new mice will be available throughout December! Lightning the Great Winter Tree and the new Festive Gifts, restoring the spirit of the holidays.

There was a great celebration and jubilee from veterans and novices alike as unprecedented number of hunters gathered together to witness the Great Winter Star Ceremony near the Festive Comet. Throngs of happy hunters surrounded the massive Holiday Tree, ringed with glittering lights and tinsel. Under the broad evergreen branches sat a mountain of sightly gifts brought by the King to show his appreciation for the hard work of the hunters.

But just as the Winter Star was being raised, a booming of steel drums drowned out the cheers! Our veteran hunter's supply of spoiled eggnog from last year's Winter Hunt burst open, disgorging an indescribable odor and a cloud of choking nog-smoke! Those stalwart hunters who held their breath witnessed a league of mice rush to the tree, stripping it bare of lights. pillaging the King's special gifts, and even claiming the Winter Star itself!

It seems the mice may well have stolen away both festive cheer and cheese, but all hope is not lost! A few of our bravest hunters were so formidable they managed to tough out the eggnog stench, capturing as many mice as they could manage. Bribing these captured mice with delicious Gingerbread Cheese, they learnt that there are 12 mouse types working for 1 mysterious boss! All we know of this festi-villain is that he leaves eggnoggey footprints in the snow...

They have also learnt that the mice have a schedule for their devious plot, and the bosses will only reveal themselves if the minions fail. The King, working together with the hunters, has released a Royal Calender to coordinate our efforts.

Now it is up to you, brave hunter, to enter the Great Festive Hunt of 2010, capture the 12 mice of winter, defeat their noggy master and restore our holiday!Restoring Holiday Cheer
Over the course of December, we'll be releasing a new mouse to the Festive Comet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Mice, once released, will stay in the area as long as the Winter Hunt is active. As you catch these mice, lights in your holiday strand will turn on as you recover the spirit of the Winter Hunt. After all 12 are released and caught, the mysterious boss will be revealed and become available to you. We're told he likes his cheese as cold as his heart... On Tuesdays, new gifts will become available in the Festive Gift Shoppe. On Thursdays, or 'Bonus Elf Day' as we call it in the office, twice as many Elf mice are released to the Festive Comet.

The Holiday Lights

This HUD element shows how close you are to defeating the 12 Mice of Winter. Mice that are caught are shown with a glowing light. Mice that are released, but not yet caught, are a grey bulb. Mice that are not yet released are faded mysterious silhouettes of lights.

MouseHunt: King's Giveaway

2010-11-15T14:27:00.014+08:00

The King's Giveaway event started on 11th November 2010. The event introduced 3 new event mice, along with Prize Power, Lucky Coins, King's Credits and the King's Royal Prize Shoppe. It also introduced the notion of a Wishing Well at friend's profiles in order to earn more prize power.

The quotes from MH developer Dave Vanderburg mentioned in Facebook forum.

First of all, let's start on how to begin hunting 5 event mice.

As the prize mouse, all 5 mice are known to have an aversion to the following types of cheese and are known to avoid traps baited with them:

Gilded
Gauntlet Tier 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Wicked Gnarly
Susheese, Glutter, Combat, Rumble, Onyx Gorgonzola
Shell, Gumbo, Crunchy, all types of Havarti, Vengeful Vanilla Stilton
Checkmate

Hunting strategy:
The 5 mice are a typical member of the Event Mice group. All power types are of normal effectiveness against it with exception of Parental which is ineffective.
Failure to catch an event mice will result in an increase of one Prize Power. After catching a prize event mice, it is impossible to catch another one for 24 hours except Mobster & Leprechaun for 90 days.

The Prize Shoppe has opened for first time but only available during giveaways.
This store can sell crafting items, potions, collectibles, Super|brie+ and weapon skins in exchange for King's Credits.

Items for Sale

The event ended on 17th November 2010, so every hunters had a great time hunting to get a rare special event mice.

MouseHunt: Halloween Trick and Treat Event

2010-10-21T14:06:00.015+08:00

The Halloween Treat and Trick event began on 20th October 2010. The event was not same as what to expect last year Halloween, only to catch Hollowhead mouse (limited edition) running rampant all around the Kingdom.

Quotes from Dave Vanderburg (MH developer):

Attention all MouseHunters!

An insane mouse has proclaimed itself to be the King of Halloween and has setup a spooky obstacle to protect itself from hunters! The King needs your help to explore this new haunted area and track down the pesky mouse at the heart of it all!

In order to fully explore the Haunted Terrortories of Gnawnia, you'll need plenty of Ghoulgonzola and Candy Corn Cheese. You can collect these two new types of cheese by visiting up to 10 of your friends' hunter profiles a day to go Trick-or-Treating. Just click the "Trick-or-Treat" button to discover if your friend decided to trick, or treat you! You'll receive Ghoulgonzola for a trick, and Candy Corn Cheese for a treat. You can also collect both of these flavours of cheese by hunting mutated or Hollowhead mice at the Haunted Terrortories.

During the Halloween event Ghoulgonzola and Candy Corn cheese carry a very high attraction rate in not only the Haunted Terrortories, but many other hunting locations in the Kingdom. Their ability to attract mice is closely tied to the magic of the Haunted Terroroties, meaning they will be slightly less powerful when the Halloween event ends.

When you arrive at the Haunted Terrortories you'll notice two new progress bars on your heads-up-display. These progress bars are filled by catching mice using Ghoulgonzola and Candy Corn Cheese. Trick AND treat enough mice to fill both bars in your current location to attract mice from the next! You TRICK mice using Ghoulgonzola and TREAT them with Candy Corn Cheese.

You'll have to trick and treat your way through the Corn Maze, into the Haunted Manor and finally to the Pumpkin Patch where the Trick, Treat and Gourdborg mice await you!

What sort of haunted loot waits for you at the end of your journey? With a little farming knowledge, an evil pumpkin seed from the Gourdborg mouse can be used to create a spooky (and shadowy) limited edition trap that will let you hunt with fearsome Halloween style! Rumor even has it that with some creative crafting an even more fearsome trap can be constructed...

There's more Halloween fun yet! Gifting is up and running and features a limited edition Pumpkin Treat Basket to celebrate Halloween! Who knows what treats could be inside?

Let the trick-or-treating begin! Have fun and happy haunting MouseHunters!
The Haunted Terrortories consist of three unique areas; The Corn Maze, The Haunted Manor and the Pumpkin Patch.Watch out for Hollowhead mouse to drop 2 loots of different cheese: Ghoulgonzola & Candy Corn.
Therefore, Mutated Grey mouse & Mutated White mouse also drop Candy Corn & Ghoulgonzola respectively.

Ghoulgonzola (left) is used for Tricked Mice & Candy Corn (right) is used for Treated Mice.

The 4 event mice are released for a limited time. The 2 new traps are also released with recipes together.Reminder:

Be prepare to keep your gold to purchase a new Pumpkin Pummeler Blueprint cost 168,000 gold which appears in Haunted Terrortories General Store.

The event ended on 2nd November 2010, so every hunters had a great hunting to get a rare mice dropping its loots.

Happy Hunting!! :)

MouseHunt: Daily Raffles, Tidal Fisher & Realm Ripper mice

2010-09-29T11:47:00.007+08:00

Quotes from Dave Vanderburg (MH chief developer)
On the 21st September 201o, a daily raffle tab has been added to the camp page where a new prize item will be up for grabs each day. To start, this will be various amounts of Super|Brie+. Hunters can get tickets for the daily raffle in three ways:

Purchase tickets with gold (the cost of the ticket will vary with the prize)
Each of your friends can send you one free ballot a day
If you send a friend a free ballot, you'll get free bonus ballot in return

To send a friend a ballot you either view their hunter's profile and click the send daily ballot button, or you can view your friends page where the same send ballot button will appear to the right of each of your friends.

Therefore, a number of hunters in the Forbidden Grove and Balack's Cove increased, the process of manually moving thousands of hunters to a new location all at once was becoming increasingly problematic.
When hunting in the Forbidden Grove a new custom heads-up display will be visible showing how long until the grove will close. When the heavy stone gates close, the area is filled with a dense black fog and a new mouse, the Realm Ripper will be present. This mouse is extremely weak to Arcane traps and upon being captured will transport the hunter to the Acolyte Realm.Balack's Cove has been given a similar upgrade, where catching a Riptide mouse will wash the hunter out into the Jungle of Dread. When hunting in the cove a custom heads-up display is also displayed showing the current height of the tides. The tides have three possible heights; Low, medium and high. During low tide no Riptide mice are present, during medium tide the Riptides become abundant and finally during high tide only Riptide mice can be encountered. Low tide lasts the longest, while high tide is very short. Due to the Riptide mice concentrating their power on raising the tide, they're a little weaker than they were before. A new mouse has also been added to the cove that can only be encountered during low tide to keep a similar variety of the mice you can catch in Balack's Cove.

MouseHunt: 24,000th mice caught

2010-09-29T11:34:00.004+08:00

MouseHunt: Zugzwang's Tower with new mice

2010-08-30T14:38:00.021+08:00

On the 24th August 2010, the MH developers announced a news of new location is called Zugzwang's Tower but is not officially opened.
The quotes from Dave Vanderburg (MH developer):
Hello to all you Lords and Ladies in the Seasonal Garden!
We have now hunted through Winter, Spring and Summer! Fall is just around the corner, and with it comes the final key shard. Once you find all four key shards, they can be combined to gain access to Zugzwang's Tower.
With all the commotion out in the garden, it seems the mice in the tower have been busy barricading the door! It may be another day or two before the barricade can be broken down, so until then, Zugzwang's Tower will remain locked, regardless of whether or not players have the key.
Once we've finished putting some of the finishing touches on Zugzwang's Tower, we'll remove the barricade and let hunters in. To get you the highest quality updates as quickly as possible, we usually keep on tweaking and testing right up until the moment before release, so, sometimes, things change or take a bit longer than expected. We aren’t afraid to change our plan if necessary, as we will never launch an update before it is ready.
Keep your eyes on the news section for an announcement about when the tower is officially open.
Happy hunting!

Then later on the 26th August 2010, the Zugzwang's Tower is officially opened for Lord/Lady hunters & above levels.
The quotes for Dave Vanderburg:
Zugzwang's Tower is located in the Rodentia Region, and hunters can gain access to it once they have collected four key shards from the Seasonal Garden and assembled them into Zugzwang's Tower Key. The tower is like no other hunting location in the game, featuring a brand new way to hunt mice!
If you have been hunting in the new Seasonal Garden area, you have no doubt noticed your increasing 'Tower Amplifier' stat on the heads-up display. With the tower now open, it's time to put that amplifier to use! When hunting in Zugzwang's Tower, your trap's power will be multiplied by your Tower Amplifier, providing a power bonus of up to 75%. When your amplifier drops below 100%, your trap's power and luck will begin to reduce, until they become zero and you are incapable of capturing mice. When your amplifier runs low, make sure to return to the Seasonal Garden to recharge it.
Your amplifier won't be the only new stat displayed on your heads-up display while in Zugzwang's Tower. Additionally, two new progress bars will appear showing how many Technic and Mystic mice you have caught since you entered. Upon capturing the correct mice, new types will then be available along with previous varieties. The correct order of capture is: Eight pawns, two knights, two bishops, two rooks, one queen and finally the king. In order to win, you will have to battle your way through all the chess pieces in the Tower.
There's lots of new items and loot to be found in the tower! Hunting kings may reveal how to attract a more fearsome adversary who holds a key item to crafting a very powerful base. The Seasonal Garden's trapsmith and general store have new items for sale specifically for hunting within Zugzwang's Tower. Winning this game of chess will require some thought and strategy, so study these new traps and items carefully and plan your moves in advance!
Put on your thinking caps, and good luck conquering the Tower, MouseHunters!

There's a lot more than a new area in this release! We've overhauled a few existing pages and even added a brand new section!
Here's a breakdown of what else is new with this update:
Loot items are now clickable in journal entries and link to a new page called "Larry's Loot Lexicon". This new page shows some basic item information to help reduce confusion when finding a new item for the first time.
We added black and white thumbnails and search filters to the stats section of the mice page and hunter profiles. This change will easily allow hunters to see what mice in a group they have yet to catch to help to see how to complete their collection!
The items tab on hunter profiles has been given collection stats. If you're a collector of trap parts or map pieces, having all of these items earns you a check-mark on your profile. Limited edition items do not count towards collection totals and are instead displayed in brackets as a bonus.
We overhauled the look and functionality of crafting and the recipe book. We also corrected a problem where page popups would appear at the top of the page while scrolled down. The recipe book is now sorted into categories to make it easier to find what you're looking for.
We improved mouse popups on the adversary page. Clicking the image of the mouse now displays a higher-resolution image. Global stats have also been added in the popups, which update once a day.
We reduced the frequency of a problem where players went on two simultaneous hunts, registering an extra caught mouse in their stats without record of a journal or loot.
We corrected a problem where Student of the Cheese Belt mice would not steal gold or points.
We corrected a problem where King's Crown journal entries would be improperly time-stamped for trap checks.

MouseHunt: 22,222th mice caught

2010-08-30T14:36:00.001+08:00

On the 24th August 2010, my hunter's journal showed 22,222th mice caught. The earlier post about 21,000th & 22,000th mice caught did not make it due to MH technical glitch that may caused stir up with overall mice caught in MH's end-users.
I'm still hunting at King's Gauntlet to complete all levels of cheese Tier 2 to Tier 8. My strategy is to hunt 150 potions of Tier 2 to convert 600pcs of cheese Tier 2, then follow by the remaining potions of cheese Tier 3 drop by mice at level 2. The hunt continues...

MouseHunt: Ronza

2010-08-25T14:44:00.009+08:00

Do you know who's Ronza?
Ronza is a travelling merchant. The King allows her to sell exotic goods from her travelling shoppe, an airship. When she enters a region her location is an area available to hunters. Not much is known about her, though rumors are that she comes back on special occasions such as giveaways. Ronza has visted the Burroughs and Gnawnia. She has not yet visited Furoma,Whisker Woods, Rodentia, Tribal Isles, or Bristle Woods Regions.
Nobody knows when (or if) she's coming back, what she will be selling, or how long she will stay.
In 2007 MouseHunt developer Jacob Johnson created a piece of artwork entitled The Captain which purportedly depicts Ronza: Jacob Johnson's Portfolio: The Captain.

MouseHunt: The Seasonal Garden with new mice, Dragon's Chest, Zugzwang's First Move & Heat Bath

2010-08-25T12:27:00.011+08:00

On the 17th August 2010, the Seasonal Garden in Rodentia region was released in MouseHunt world. Therefore, there are also new loots from Dragon's Chest & two new weapons that should be crafted not purchase from trap smith.

Here are the quotes from Dave Vanderburg:

Hello hunters!
The mysterious island that has slowly been floating towards the Rodentia region now holds a new hunting location for Lord and Lady MouseHunters: the Seasonal Garden!
To access the island, you'll first have to find a way past Zugzwang's pet octopus, Bubbles, who is very protective of the island and will grant safe passage only to his master. Finding an article of clothing that once belonged to Zugzwang may be the key to getting past him. One of Zugzwang's favourite pastimes was researching the rare and dangerous mice of the Tribal Isles, so try starting your search there.
The Seasonal Garden is enchanted by Zugzwang's Magic, making it a hunting area like no other. In this garden, the season, and types of mice you can catch, change every few days. Upon entering the garden you'll notice a new element on your heads-up display indicating the current season in the garden, along with a stat called your "Tower Amplifier". The amplifier is a power bonus that is applied to your trap when you hunt inside Zugzwang's Tower. Catching mice in the Seasonal Garden will increase your amplifier in different increments, depending on the type of mouse you catch. Failing to attract a mouse will cause some of your amplifier's charge to be lost. The opening of the garden is only the beginning! Inside Zugzwang's Tower are two teams of mice, trapped in a never- ending game of chess. Before hunters can intervene in this game, they'll need to gain access to the tower by finding a key that's hidden somewhere in the garden.
Larry suspects it may take hunters some time to discover the key and gain access to the tower. Keep your eyes on the news section for more details about the tower once hunters get closer to discovering the key.

Something new on your camp page:
A trap effectiveness statistic has been added under your trap on the camp page. Your effectiveness rating is determined by your ability to both attract and catch a mouse in your current location, with your current trap setup. The effectiveness of your trap is gauged as mild, medium or strong.
Clicking the effectiveness rating will open a dialog box displaying all the mice inhabiting your current location. Each mouse will display its difficulty rating, as well as a visual bar representing its difficulty rating. The difficulty ratings of specific mice are determined by your current trap's ability to catch that mouse, should you attract it.
Try changing your trap setup and opening the effectiveness dialog to see what traps work best against the particular mouse, or mice, you're looking to catch! Also in this update:

We corrected an error making Champion mice incorrectly weak to tactical
Nibbler mice have been added to a few more locations
Cyclops mice can now be encountered in the Lagoon
Mouse groups and location stats are now sorted roughly by title requirement
Mice stats on profile tab are now sorted from strongest to weakest mouse
We increased the length of items on the HUD to accommodate Gauntlet Cheese
Event mice are no longer included in group/regional totals
We renamed "Swarm of Pigmy Mice" to "Swarm of Pygmy Mice"

Seasonal Garden is a location in the Rodentia region requiring a minimum rank of Lord/Lady and the Zugzwang's Scarf to enter. There are three shops can be found in the Seasonal Garden: Cheese Shoppe, Trapsmith & General Store.

By now, anyone who knows how to access to the Seasonal Garden?

MouseHunt: Zugzwang's Tower sneek peek

2010-08-25T12:26:00.000+08:00

Quoted by Dave Vanderburg:

MH developers has been announced that Zugzwang Tower will be coming soon in MouseHunt World. They had been busy preparing the artwork for the launch of Zugzwang's Tower.

Zugzwang's Tower is initially designed for Heroes rank but not quite complex enough to challenge higher ranks. However, the area becomes finalized and early play-testing began, it turned out to be challenging. Due to for higher ranked areas, combined with how this new area turned out during play-testing, the best suited with the title requirement of Lord/Lady.

Here's a sneek peek at some of the artwork for the Zugzwang's Tower.

Here is the latest map of Zugzwang's Floating Island.

MouseHunt: King's Gauntlet with new mice

2010-08-25T12:20:00.002+08:00

On the 8th June 2010, MH had released a new location called King's Gauntlet in Valour region.

A quotes from Dave Vanderburg:
As many hunters are already aware, a new location is now open! The Valour region is home to the King's Gauntlet, the King's challenge to MouseHunters everywhere! If you've been away, or are looking for a few more details about this new, exciting area, read on, hunter!
To access the Gauntlet, you will need to purchase floor plans from the Cartographer in the Harbour. Before the Cartographer will sell you the plans, you will have to prove your dedication to the King by capturing a Master Burglar and recovering a Crown Jewel. The Master Burglar can be hunted in the Town of Gnawnia or the Burroughs Bazaar by using SUPERbrie+ or Gilded cheese. Gilded cheese can be looted from normal Burglar mice scattered throughout the world.
The King’s Gauntlet works on a tier system, where Hunters advance to the next floor by hunting with cheese that they collect on the current floor. The King is paying close attention to which hunters amass the most potions before opening the next floor. By order of the King, the potions you collect cannot be used until specified dates. The poster below outlines when each floor of the Gauntlet will open.
Now, the entire Kingdom is wondering: Who will collect the most potions, and be the first to catch the mysterious Eclipse mouse? The King is offering a 300,000 gold reward for the Eclipse Mouse’s capture, and that Hunter could be you!

The construction of King's Gauntlet & King's Stockade.

Then how to start accessing to King's Gauntlet in Valour region. First of all to catch Master Burglar mouse which are available in Town of Gnawnia and Bazaar. The Floorplan will be ready within one hour while hunting mice in Harbour. Once the Floorplan is completed, the map of King's Gauntlet has been updated.

Then, proceed to a new world of King's Gauntlet in Valour region which requires a minimum rank of Apprentice. Mice in this location may steal points, gold or multiple pieces of cheese if not captured.

A quotes from Dave Vanderburg:
Tier two mice of the King's Gauntlet are now released. The King will now allow hunters to use their Tier Two Gauntlet Potions to produce the cheese required to hunt the next tier of mice!
The thieving mice on the second floor of the King's Gauntlet can't keep their hands off Tier Two Gauntlet Cheese. To keep the little pickpockets from getting away with too much of your cheese, use a physical trap to stop them in their tracks.

Tier three now makes the following mice available:

On the 29th June 2010, a bard mice on the fourth floor has been released.

A quotes from Dave Vanderburg:
Tier four mice of the King's Gauntlet are now released! The King will now allow hunters to use their Tier Four
Gauntlet Potions to produce the cheese required to hunt the next tier of mice!
The music-making mice on the fourth tier of the King's Gauntlet rely on this cheese blend to make their taste buds sing. Bards can be quite wily, so using a strong tactical trap will help the aspiring hunter stay on-key.
Tier four now makes the following mice available:On the 2nd July 2010, a magic mice on the fifth floor has been released.A quotes from Dave Vanderburg:
Tier five mice of the King's Gauntlet are now released! The King will now allow hunters to use their Tier Five

Tier seven now makes the following mice available:On the 9th July 2010, a eclipse mouse on the eighth and final floor has been released.A quotes from Dave Vanderburg:
The eight and final tier of the King's Gauntlet is now released! The Eclipse mouse awaits hunters who have managed to hunt their way through all the tiers of the gauntlet to acquire the extraordinarily rare Gauntlet Potion Tier 8.
The Eclipse is an extremely powerful mouse and only has one notable weakness. Although, it is possible to capture the Eclipse using any power type, discovering its true weakness will make for an almost guaranteed catch.
Congratulations to any hunters that has made it this far - You have proven to be well equipped with a variety of traps and a sense of patience that is vital to any successful hunter. The journey to the top of the King's Gauntlet has been a long one, needing equipment gathered from across the entire map. Capturing an Eclipse is a sign of a seasoned hunter, who has mastered nearly every region within the game.
Once again, a big congratulations to those have made it this far, and good luck against the mysterious Eclipse Mouse!
