JaVale McGee officially holds a world record

Wizards center JaVale McGee(notes) is an excitable boy, the kind of guy who seems to have a world of talent and not enough sense to put it all together. That's not to say that McGee is ineffective or won't ever be a major contributor on a good team. It's just that, even when he does something great like put together a triple-double, he does so in a really goofy way that makes you wonder if it was even all that impressive.

Such was JaVale McGee's performance at this year's dunk contest, as well. He had some amazing dunks, including one in which he dunked three balls in one attempt -- one in each hand, plus an alley-oop from teammate John Wall(notes). Unfortunately, it took him a few tries to complete it, which made the whole idea a little less impressive.

However, the dunk will go down in the record books for its greatness. Literally. From Capital Games:

JaVale has since tweeted a pic of his certificate, which we suppose makes it official. At least it looks official, what with the foil stamp and all. [...]

We reached out to the Guinness people to find out who solicited the record and the response was "JaVale did directly, or his manager did". Maybe JaVale was a little more bitter about losing the contest than we thought. It's like his triple-double all over again.

Congratulations to McGee, who now takes his place next to such luminaries as that dude with the really long fingernails and the world's fattest twins. You are all champions in my book.

I would have given JaVale the world record for most ridiculous alter ego, but I'm pretty sure Guinness would consider that a matter of opinion, not fact. Whatever the case, I imagine this will be the first of many worldwide accomplishments for McGee before his career is over. He's only four ill-advised drives away from breaking the record for most immediate substitutions in a career.

‘American Idol’ Final 5 Perform: But Is The Competition In The Bag?

“American Idol” inched closer to its Season 10 finale, and according to Randy Jackson, the competition is over, something Steven Tyler agrees with — they just don’t think the same contestant has it in the bag.

After two rounds of performances on Wednesday night, Randy said it was James Durbin’s competition “to lose,” while Steven told Lauren Alaina she’s “it.”

Under Sheryl Crow’s mentorship, the evening began with Randy’s choice – James — who kickstarted the show performing “Closer to the Edge,” a song by Jared Leto’s band, 30 Seconds to Mars, and the emotive rock number won over the panel.

“I know America’s feeling it,” Jennifer Lopez said. “It’s yours to take!”

Randy, who has been championing James for weeks now — including during a Wednesday morning appearance on Access Hollywood Live — added that the rocker’s rendition really demonstrated the type of direction he could go in when the show is over, adding, “James is in it to win it!”

Teenager Lauren quickly matched James point for point as she took on a Carrie Underwood hit – “Flat On The Floor” – and brought out her sassy country side.

“Lauren is in it!” Randy enthused.

“The way you found your niche is simply as good as it gets,” Steven said. “The sky’s the limit. I think you’re it.”

During Round 2, though, James again gave another powerful performance, this time singing Harry Nilsson’s “Without You.”

Inspired by his family, James was nearly brought to tears as he drew the crowd in close with his impassioned – and a little pitch-imperfect vocals.

“This is the mark of a truly great performer,” Randy claimed. “I could feel your emotion… For you to give a vocal like you gave? No, it wasn’t perfect, but it was emotionally perfect… This competition… it’s yours to lose.”

But Lauren wouldn’t be outdone, hitting the stage again in a flowing gown to sing a beautiful version of “Unchained Melody” by the Righteous Brothers.

“Nothing to judge there really,” Jennifer said, awed by the young woman’s powerful pipes.

“It was a beautiful song, sang beautifully by you.” Steven added, “It was perfect.”

While James and Lauren may have an edge, the competition is a long way from over and Scotty McCreery continued to give strong performances, the kind that have kept him returning week after week.

The teen opened with “Gone” by Montgomery Gentry, hitting octaves he had not previously revealed, and even — as Jennifer pointed out — showing off a little growling in his voice.

“I swear to God, I saw you dance with the devil tonight,” Steven said. “That’s a good thing for you… That showed a whole other side to you.”

“I lost it there for a second,” an enthusiastic Jennifer commented. “I was so excited… You just owned that stage.”

Later, Scotty came back with Elvis Presley’s “Always On My Mind,” which Jennifer said “showed us what a well-rounded artist you are,” while Steven called it “Beautiful.”

While three performers stood out for all the right reasons, it was a mixed bag of critiques for Jacob Lusk and Haley Reinhart.

Jacob took a knock for his first number – singing both the Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown parts of “No Air,” which the judges weren’t convinced by.

He later redeemed himself with “Love Hurts” by Nazareth, but is still likely to be in jeopardy on Thursday if the voters stay with the judges.

As for Haley, she lost favor for taking mentor Jimmy Iovine’s advice to perform an unreleased Lady Gaga song, “You and I.”

While Gaga gave the young singer her blessing, Jennifer said she should have picked a more well-known song for the audience to connect to.

Luckily for Haley, she had a second chance with “House of the Rising Sun,” a song made famous by The Animals, which she opened without any accompaniment.

“Best performance of the night goes to Haley,” Randy said. “You’ve grown by leaps and bounds on this show… You’ve blossomed. That was amazing.”

Networks, TV academy reach 8-year deal for Emmys

LOS ANGELES – The Emmy Awards and the four major TV networks have an eight-year, $66 million agreement in place to air the ceremony.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' board of governors approved the deal Wednesday night with ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC, according to a statement from the academy and the networks.

The broadcasters will continue a "wheel rotation," with each airing the Emmys in turn. Fox kicks off the new cycle with this year's Sept. 18 ceremony.

After protracted negotiations, the networks will pay a license fee of at least $8.25 million for the ceremony each year, according to a statement.

The previous agreement, which was reached in 1992 and expired this year, guaranteed license fees of $7.5 million per year for the past four years.

President Barack Obama Won’t Release Osama Bin Laden Death Photos

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US President Barack Obama has decided not to release a photograph showing the body of Osama Bin Laden after he was killed by US commandos, US television networks said Wednesday.

In an interview with CBS, Obama said "he won't release post-mortem images of Osama Bin Laden taken to prove his death," the network said in a statement.

The CBS interview for its "60 Minutes" program is due to air on Sunday and comes after commandos over the weekend stormed bin Laden's hideout in a Pakistani compound and shot him dead.

US officials who have seen the pictures of bin Laden's body have described them as gruesome.

There are fears that if the photos are released they could provoke anger and trigger a backlash against US personnel in the Muslim world.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were both advising Obama about concerns at the Pentagon and State Department over releasing the photograph, ABC television said.

On Capitol Hill, a number of senators and congressmen said they had been shown the picture.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers said he had seen the photo and was reluctant for it to be released, saying he was concerned for the security of American troops abroad.

"The risks of release outweigh the benefits," Rogers said, saying conspiracy theorists would just claim it was doctored anyway.

"Imagine how the American people would react if Al-Qaeda killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the Internet.

"Osama bin Laden is not a trophy -- he is dead," the lawmaker said.

"Let's now focus on continuing the fight until Al-Qaeda has been eliminated."

Osama bin Laden: No one's hero

In America, where life is precious and humans are treated with dignity and respect in spite of religious beliefs or sexual orientation, it is very rare for maniacal grins to wash across our faces at the news of someone's death.

But that's just what happened Sunday night when anyone who was still awake found out via some sort of technological mode of communication that Osama bin Laden had been killed.

It's the first and, I pray, the last time in my life that I call anyone to tell them the good news that someone has just been shot in the head.

For those of you who have been unconscious for the last two days due to our final exams and are just now coming to, bin Laden was killed by U.S. soldiers while he "hid" in a well-protected compound in Pakistan, surrounded by homes of high-ranking retired military officials.

While radicals and followers saw him as a powerful hero, he has never had any evidence for this claim. He worked off of the reputation he developed during combat against Soviet troops in Afghanistan in the 1980s, a claim questioned by even some of his most ardent supporters.

Intelligence sources claim bin Laden only saw combat once, in a seven-day barrage, where the Afghans dug themselves into caves using his construction equipment.

If any of his supporters try to say his legacy is a brave and noble one, it will be drawn from nothing but thin air, and although he hid behind the face of a religion, his lust for blood was all he was committed to.

While bin Laden's father had multiple wives and more than 50 kids, bin Laden's mother was a foreigner who his father acquired during a vacation. Within the family she was said to be known as "the slave" and bin Laden as "the slave child."

His experiences as a child may very well have led to his involvement with the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamic radical group who believe that most of the Muslim world lived in violation of the true meaning of the Quran. After all, a longing for genocide doesn't just happen overnight.

This involvement led to the formation of al-Qaida and what seemed to be a personal goal of infamy for bin Laden. When the U.S. published a list of the most-wanted terrorists in 1997 and he didn't make the cut, bin Laden called on all Muslims to "obey God's order" and kill Americans, including civilians, "wherever you find them."

Although he called on Muslims to aid in this fight, he simultaneously killed them as well, yet still stood behind the alibi that what he was doing was meant to help the Islamic world.

My grin has faded as I realize that although bin Laden's death may have made us safer here in the U.S. and brought vengeance for 9/11, it has done little to nothing for the sad plight of so many others whose only offense was being born in a land so unlike our own.

Facebook users are being tempted to click on links to what purports to be a video of Osama bin Laden being shot, in the latest in a series of scams exploiting the hot news story of the Al Qaeda leader's death.

The messages appear as follows:

Clicking on the link, however, will not instantly show you some sensational footage of US Navy Seals attacking Osama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan.

Instead, you're told you will have to take an online survey.

That should be enough to set your alarm bells ringing - as survey scams are a continuing problem on Facebook, earning scammers commission with every survey they manage to trick users into completing.

What's most interesting about this scam is that they trick you into cutting-and-pasting a line of JavaScript into your web browser's address bar.

Not that you'll realise that you're doing that, of course. As far as you know all you're doing is following a sequence of instructions and keyboard presses before you watch the video.

But any time you paste a script into your browser's address bar, you're effectively running code written by the scammers without the safety net of protection.

Before you know it, you'll be sharing the news of the "Osama Shoot down video" with all of your Facebook friends, and the scam will be spreading virally.

My guess is that you don't want to make it so easy for the scammers to run their scripts on your browser - so don't fall for scams like this.

Be very careful not to be fooled by scams related to Osama bin Laden's death, not just on Facebook but on other parts of the internet too. Such a big news story always seems to attract the interest of fraudsters and malware authors.

Osama bin Laden dead - so watch for the spams and scams

Google's top-trending Anglophone search term right now is, understandably, "osama bin laden dead".

Google officially describes its hotness (you couldn't make this stuff up) as volcanic.

The short version, according to the LA Times, is that bin Laden was tracked to a "comfortable mansion surrounded by a high wall in a small town near Islamabad, Pakistan's capital."

For bin Laden, it seems, the comfort is no more. "On Sunday, a 'small team' of Americans raided the compound. After a firefight, [President Obama], they killed Bin Laden." Apparently, DNA tests have confirmed Bin Laden's identity.

And there you have it.

Now you know the basics - but watch out for the links you're likely to come across in email or on social networking sites offering you additional coverage of this newsworthy event.

Many of the links you see will be perfectly legitimate links. But at least some are almost certain to be dodgy links, deliberately distributed to trick you into hostile internet territory.

If in doubt, leave it out!

Sometimes, poisoned content is rather obvious. The links in this spam captured by SophosLabs, for example, give the impression of going to a news site:

The links don't go anywhere of the sort, of course. Wherever you click, you end up finding out how to replace your tired old windows:

But even well-meant searches using your favourite search engine might end in tears.
What's commonly called "Black-Hat Search Engine Optimisation" (BH-SEO) means that cybercrooks can often trick the secret search-ranking algorithms of popular search engines by feeding them fake pages to make their rotten content seem legitimate, and to trick you into visiting pages which have your worst interests at heart.
Well-known topics that have been widely written about for years are hard to poison via BH-SEO. The search engines have a good historical sense of which sites are likely to be genuinely relevant if your interest is searches like "Commonwealth of Australia", "Canadian Pacific Railway" or "Early history of spam".
But a search term which is incredibly popular but by its very nature brand new - "Japanese tsunami", "William and Kate engagement", "Kate Middleton wedding dress" or, of course, "Osama bin Laden dead" - doesn't give the search engines much historical evidence to go on.
Of course, the search engines want to be known for being highly responsive to new trends - that means more advertising revenue for them, after all - and that means, loosely speaking, that they have to take more of a chance on accuracy.
What can you do to keep safe?
* Don't blindly trust links you see online, whether in emails, on social networking sites, or from searches. If the URL and the subject matter don't tie up in some obvious way, give it a miss.
* Use an endpoint security product which offers some sort of web filtering so you get early warning of poisoned content. (Sophos Endpoint Security and Control and the Sophos Web Appliance are two examples.)
* If you go to a site expecting to see information on a specific topic but get redirected somewhere unexpected - to a "click here for a free security scan" page, for instance, or to a survey site, or to a "download this codec program to view the video" dialog - then get out of there at once. Don't click further. You're being scammed.

A link which claims to point to a video of the death of Osama bin Laden has been spread virally across Facebook today, just hours after the death of the Al Qaeda leader.

The messages, posed as updates on Facebook users' walls, claim to point to banned video footage of Osama bin Laden's death:

SHOCKING NEW video of OSAMA BIN LADENS DEATH!! Exclusive BANNED VDEIO footage of Osama Bin Laden being killed!!!

(In the screenshots used throughout this article we have obscured the image as some may find it disturbing).

Clicking on the link takes you to a Facebook page which urges you to like and share the link with your Facebook friends, before you can watch the "shocking" footage:

However, sharing the link with others just helps spread it further across the social network, and instead of a shocking video you are instead presented with an all-too-familiar survey which you are told you must complete before you can go any further.

The scammers earn money every time a survey is completed, and that's why they want you to share the link with others.
Sophos is advising computer users to watch out for scams related to Osama bin Laden's death, not just on Facebook but on other parts of the internet too. Such a big news story always seems to attract the interest of fraudsters and malware authors.

Bin Laden’s neighbors noticed unusual things

ABBOTTABAD: When a woman involved in a polio vaccine drive turned up at Osama bin Laden’s hideaway, she remarked to the men behind the high walls about the expensive SUVs parked inside. The men took the vaccine, apparently to administer to the 23 children at the compound, and told her to go away.

The terror chief and his family kept well hidden behind thick walls in this northwestern hill town they shared with thousands of Pakistani soldiers. But glimpses of their life are emerging – along with deep skepticism that authorities didn’t know they were there.

Although the house is large, it was unclear how three dozen people could have lived there with any degree of comfort.

Neighbors said they knew little about those inside in the compound but bin Laden apparently depended on two men who would routinely emerge to run errands or to a neighborhood gathering, such as a funeral. There were conflicting details about the men’s identities. Several people said they were known as Tariq and Arshad Khan and had identified themselves as cousins from elsewhere in northwestern Pakistan. Others gave different names and believed they were brothers.

Arshad was the oldest, and both spoke multiple languages, including Pashto and Urdu, which are common here, residents said.

As Navy SEALs swept through the compound early Monday, they handcuffed those they encountered with plastic zip ties and pressed on in pursuit of bin Laden. After killing the terror leader, his son and two others, they doubled back to move nine women and 23 children away from the compound, according to US officials.

Those survivors of the raid are now ”in safe hands and being looked after in accordance to the law,” the Pakistani government said in a statement. ”As per policy, they will be handed over to their countries of origin.” It did not elaborate.

Also unclear was why bin Laden chose Abbottabad, though at least two other top al-Qaida leaders have sheltered in this town. The bustling streets are dotted with buildings left over from British colonial days. These days it attracts some tourists, but is known mostly as a garrison town wealthier than many others in Pakistan.

Bin Laden found it safe enough to stay for up to six years, according to US officials, a stunning length of time to remain in one place right under the noses of a US-funded army that had ostensibly been trying to track him down. Most intelligence assessments believed him to be along the Afghan-Pakistan border, perhaps in a cave.

Construction of the three-story house began about seven years ago, locals said. People initially were curious about the heavily fortified compound – which had walls as high as 18 feet topped with barbed wire – but over time they just grew to believe the family inside was deeply religious and conservative.

The Pakistani government also pushed back at suggestions that security forces were sheltering bin Laden or failed to spot suspicious signs.

”It needs to be appreciated that many houses (in the northwest) have high boundary walls, in line with their culture of privacy and security,” the government said. ”Houses with such layout and structural details are not a rarity.”

The house has been described as a mansion, even a luxury one, but from the outside it is nothing special. Bin Laden may have well have been able to take in a view of the hills from secluded spots in the garden, though.

The walls are stained with mold, trees are in the garden and the windows are hidden. US officials said the house had no internet or phone connection to reduce the risk of electronic surveillance. They also said residents burned their trash to avoid collection.

Those who live nearby said the people in bin Laden’s compound rarely strayed outside. Most were unaware that foreigners – bin Laden and his family are Arabs – were living there.

Khurshid Bibi, in her 70s, said one man living in the compound had given her a lift to the market in the rain. She said her grandchildren played with the kids in the house and that the adults there gave them rabbits as a gift.

But the occupants also attracted criticism.

”People were skeptical in this neighborhood about this place and these guys. They used to gossip, say they were smugglers or drug dealers. People would complain that even with such a big house they didn’t invite the poor or distribute charity,” said Mashood Khan, a 45-year-old farmer.

Questions persisted about how authorities could not have known who was living in the compound, especially since it was close to a prestigious military academy.

As in other Pakistani towns, hotels in Abbottabad are supposed to report the presence of foreigners to the police, as are estate agents. Abbottabad police chief Mohammed Naeem said the police followed the procedures but ”human error cannot be avoided.”

Reporters were allowed to get as far as the walls of the compound for the first time, but the doors were sealed shut and police were in no mood to open them.

Neighbors showed off small parts of what appeared to be a U.S. helicopter that malfunctioned and was disabled by the American strike team as it retreated. A small servant’s room outside the perimeter showed signs of violent entry and a brisk search. Clothes and bedding had been tossed aside. A wall clock was on the floor, the time stuck at 2:20.

Abbottabad has so far been spared the terrorist bombings that have scarred much of Pakistan over the last four years.

Like many Pakistani towns where the army has a strong presence, Abbottabad is well-manicured, and has solid infrastructure. Street signs tell residents to “Love Pakistan.” The city also is known for its good schools, including some that were originally established by Christian missionaries.

Little girls wear veils while carrying Hannah Montana backpacks to school. Many houses in the outlying areas have modern amenities, but lie along streets covered with trash. Shepherds herd their flock of sheep along dusty roads just a few hundred yards from modern banks.

Al-Qaida’s No. 3, Abu Faraj al-Libi, lived in the town before his arrest in 2005 elsewhere in northwest Pakistan, according to U.S. and Pakistani officials. Earlier this year, Indonesian terror suspect Umar Patek was nabbed at a house in the town following the arrest of an al-Qaida courier who worked at the post office. It is not clear whether Patek had any links with bin Laden.

Western officials have long regarded Pakistani security forces with suspicion, chiefly over their links to militants fighting in Afghanistan. Last year, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton caused anger in Pakistan when she said she found it “hard to believe” that no one in Islamabad knows where the al-Qaida leaders are hiding and couldn’t get them “if they really wanted to.”

But al-Qaida has been responsible for scores of bloody attacks inside Pakistan, including on its army and civilian leaders. Critics of Pakistan have speculated that a possible motivation for Pakistan to have kept bin Laden on the run — rather than arresting or killing him — would be to ensure a constant flow of U.S. aid and weapons into the country.

Suspicions were also aired in Pakistani media and on the street Tuesday.

“That house was obviously a suspicious one,” said Jahangir Khan, who was buying a newspaper in Abbottabad. “Either it was a complete failure of our intelligence agencies or they were involved in this affair.” – AP

Under President Pervez Musharraf ~ the Taliban were about to take an easy stroll onto Islamabad. One wonders if the world did not apply pressure on him to act ~ would these holy warriors been greeted with fresh cut flowers, as they had already reached 60 miles outside of the capital, in the end virtually unopposed by Pak military.

But there is growing talk about the money, as before the large international handouts to defeat this Taliban-terrorist-enemy ~ Musharraf was saying we already have Shari'a law anyway. And that there was no significant threat to the country. When he saw the money, it was ~ we are going to be taken over!! And the around the world tour began.

It is true that a large amount of Pakistani soldiers have died, but what also appears true that if no international pressure is applied, little or no effort would be made. The idea being if you stamp things out early, then there would not be the huge problem of Taliban taking complete control of whole regions ~ later!

Obviously they have a relationship with their hardliners that goes beyond waging war against India. It must be as some Pakistani officials/politicians have said, that this is an extension of their religion.

Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf on Monday accused the U.S. of violating his country’s sovereignty by sending in special forces to kill Osama bin Laden.

“American troops coming across the border and taking action in one of our towns, that is Abbottabad, is not acceptable to the people of Pakistan. It is a violation of our sovereignty,” Mr. Musharraf told CNN-IBN, an Indian news channel.

He added that it would have been “far better if Pakistani Special Services Group had operated and conducted the mission. To that extent, the modality of handling it and executing the operation is not correct.”

Bin Laden was killed Sunday in a firefight with Navy SEALs in a million-dollar, fortified compound located in an affluent neighborhood in Abbottabad, about a two-hour drive from Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad.

Senior U.S. officials, who briefed reporters early Monday, said the Obama administration did not inform Pakistani authorities of the mission until after it was concluded.

Mr. Musharraf said the “lack of trust is very bad.”

“If two organizations [are] conducting an operation against a common enemy, there has to be trust and confidence in each other,” he said.

Pakistan is “totally on board” on fighting al Qaeda and Taliban.

Mr. Musharraf said it was possible that some local Pakistanis had colluded with bin Laden.

“A battle has been won, but the war continues,” Mr. Musharraf said, warning that “al Qaeda is still there.”

Hitler's death was announced to the public on May 1st, after he supposedly took his own life on April 30th, 1945. Hither's body was never recovered (the body believed to be Hitler's was exhumed by the Russians, it turned out to be the body of a female in her 20's.)

The Pakistanis supported the Taliban even as they were shooting women in the head, for reading a book or what other ludicrous crimes a women could now commit in this new Islamic state of Afghanistan. Clearly the Pakistanis, both then as now, were lured by the attraction of the puritanical Islamic state. Hiding Bin Laden, was likely one of the ways of expressing this.

The coincidences are mounting up for Pakistan ~ remember the Red Mosque ~ teenage girls, ready for martyrdom, sent out onto Islamabad streets with sticks, to enforce Islamic law. It was only after these burqa-ed babes took a Chinese national hostage, and an international incident developed that something was done to bring the mosque and its schools under control. Inside of the mosque there was every type of weapon, from grenades to anti-tank mines ~ was also strangely situated opposite the ministry of defence building in Islamabad.

American diplomats were told that one of the key reasons why they had failed to find bin Laden was that Pakistan’s security services tipped him off whenever US troops approached.

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate (ISID) also allegedly smuggled al-Qaeda terrorists through airport security to help them avoid capture and sent a unit into Afghanistan to fight alongside the Taliban.

The claims, made in leaked US government files obtained by Wikileaks, will add to questions over Pakistan’s capacity to fight al-Qaeda.

Last year, David Cameron caused a diplomatic furore when he told Pakistan that it could not “look both ways” on terrorism. The Pakistani government issued a strongly-worded rebuttal.

But bin Laden was eventually tracked down and killed in compound located just a few hundred yards from Pakistan’s prestigious military academy in Abbotabad.

The raid by elite US troops was kept secret from the government of Pakistan. Only a tight circle within the Obama Administration knew of the operation.

In December 2009, the government of Tajikistan warned the United States that efforts to catch bin Laden were being thwarted by corrupt Pakistani spies.

According to a US diplomatic dispatch, General Abdullo Sadulloevich Nazarov, a senior Tajik counterterrorism official, told the Americans that “many” inside Pakistan knew where bin Laden was.

The document stated: “In Pakistan, Osama Bin Laden wasn’t an invisible man, and many knew his whereabouts in North Waziristan, but whenever security forces attempted a raid on his hideouts, the enemy received warning of their approach from sources in the security forces.”

One detainee, Saber Lal Melma, an Afghan whom the US described as a probable facilitator for al-Qaeda, allegedly worked with the ISID to help members flee Afghanistan after the American bombing began in October 2001.

His US military Guantanamo Bay detainee file, obtained by Wikileaks and seen by The Daily Telegraph, claims he allegedly passed the al-Qaeda Arabs to Pakistani security forces who then smuggled them across the border into Pakistan.

He was also overheard “bragging about a time when the ISID sent a military unit into Afghanistan, posing as civilians to fight along side the Taliban against US forces”.

He also allegedly detailed “ISID's protection of Al-Qaida members at Pakistan airports. The ISID members diverted Al-Qaida members through unofficial channels to avoid detection from officials in search of terrorists,” the file claims.

CAIRO (AFP)— Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood said on Monday that Osama bin Laden, who was killed by US forces in Pakistan, did not represent Islam and said the United States should pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Islam is not Bin Laden," Mahmud Ezzat, the Brotherhood's number two, told AFP.

"After September 11, there had been a lot of confusion. Terrorism was mixed up with Islam," he said. "In the coming phase, everyone will be looking to the West for just behaviour."

The Muslim Brotherhood was long banned under ousted president Hosni Mubarak, but it has since formed a political party and plans to contest elections.

Ezzat said the United States had long used Bin Laden and his extremist network as a "pretext to wage war in Muslim countries."

"The United States should pull out (of Iraq and Afghanistan) because it should not be occupying these lands, not because Bin Laden is dead," he said.

The Al-Qaeda mastermind was killed on Sunday in a firefight with covert US forces in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad, northeast of the capital Islamabad.

Bin Laden's deputy, Egypt-born Ayman al-Zawahiri, recently accused Washington of installing sympathetic new regimes in Tunisia and Egypt following popular revolts that toppled their long-time presidents.
