[21st May, 1860]
An Act for the Registration of Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies.

Preamble.	WHEREAS it is expedient that provision should be made for improving the legal condition of societies established for the promotion of literature, science, or the fine arts, or for the diffusion of useful knowledge, 2[the diffusion of political education] or for charitable purposes; it is enacted as follows:-
Societies formal by memorandum of association and registration.	1. Any seven or more person associated for any literary, scientific or charitable purpose, or for any such purposes as is described in section 20 of this Act, may be subscribing their names to a memorandum of association and filing the same with the Registrar of Joint- stock Companies3 form themselves into a society under this Act.

2. The memorandum of association shall contains the following things (that is to say). ----

The names, addresses, and occupation of the governors, council, directors, committee or other governing body to whom, by the rules of the society, the management of its affairs is entrusted.

The Districts of Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan. [Portions of the Districts of Hazara, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan and the Districts of Peshawar and Kohat now form the N.W.F.P. see Gazette of India, 1901, Pt I,p. 867, and ibid, 1902, Pt. I,p 575].
2.             These words were added by the Societies Registration (Amendment) Act, 1927 (XXII of 1927)

SOCIETIES REGISTRATION. 1860 : ACT XXI .

A copy of the rules and regulation of the society, certified to be a correct copy by not less than three of the members of the governing body, shall be filed with the memorandum of association.
3. Upon such memorandum and certified copy being filed, the registrar shall certify under his hand that the society is registered under this Act. There shall be paid to the registrar for every such registration a fee of fifty rupees, or such smaller fee as 1[the Provincial Government] may, from time to time, direct; and all fees so paid shall be accounted for to 2[the Provincial Government]	Registration fees.
4. Once in every year, on or before the fourteenth day succeeding the day on which, according to the rules of the society, the annual general meeting of the society is held, or, if the rules do not provide for an annual general meeting, in the month of January, a list shall be filed with the Registrar of Joint –stock Companies of the names, addresses and occupations of the governors, council, directors, committee or other governing body then entrusted with the management of the affairs of the society. 5. The property, movable and immovable, belonging to a society registered under this, Act, if not vested in trustees, shall be deemed to be vested, for the time being, in the governing body of such society, and in all proceedings, civil and criminal, may be described as the property of the governing body of such society by their proper title. 6. Every society registered under this Act may sue or be sued in the name of the president, chairman, or principal secretary, or trustees, as shall be determined by the rules and regulation of the society, and, in default of such determination, in the name of such person as shall be appointed by the governing body for the occasion:	Suits by and against societies.
Provided that it shall be competent for any person having a claim or demand against the society, to sue the president or chairman or principal secretary or the trustees thereof, if on application to the governing body some other officer or person be not nominated to be the defendant.
7. No suit or proceeding in any Civil Court shall abate or discontinue by reason of the person by or against whom such suit or proceedings shall have been brought or continued, dying or ceasing to fill the character in the name where of he shall have sued or been sued, but the same suit or proceeding shall be continued in the name of or against the successor of such person. Enforcement of Judgment against society.	8. If a judgment shall be recovered against the person or officer named on behalf of the society, such judgment shall not be put in force against the property, movable or immovable, or against the body of such person or officer, but against the property of the society.
	The application for execution shall set forth the judgment, the fact of the party against whom it shall have been recovered having sued or having been sued, as the case may be, on behalf of society only, and shall require to have the judgment enforced against the property of the society.
Recovery of penalty accruing under bye-law	9. Whenever by any bye- law duly made in accordance with the rules and regulations of the society, or, if the rules do not provide for the making of bye- laws, by any bye-law made at a general meeting of the members of the society convened for the purpose (for the making of which the concurrent votes of three fifths of the members present at such meeting shall be necessary), any pecuniary penalty is imposed for the breach of any rule or bye-law of the society, such penalty, when accrued, may be recovered in any Court having jurisdiction where the defendant shall reside, or the society shall be situate, as the governing body there of shall deem expedient.
Members liable to be sued as stragers	10. Any member who may be in arrear of a subscription which, according to the rules of the society he is bound to pay, or who shall possess himself of or detain any property of the society in a manner or for a time contrary to such rules, or shall injure or destroy any property of the society, may be sued for such arrear or for the damage accruing from such detention, injury or destruction of property in the manner her in before provided.
Recovery by successful defendant of coasts adjudged.	But if the defendant shall be successful in any suit or other proceeding brought against him at the instance of the society, and shall be adjudged to recover his costs, he may elect to proceed to recover the same from the officer in whose name the suit shall be brought, or from the society ,and in the latter case shall have process against the property of the said society in the manner above described.
Members guilty of offences punishable as strangers.	11. Any member of the society who shall steal, purloin or embezzle any money or other property, or willfully and maliciously destroy or injure any property of such society, or shall forge any deed, bond, security for money, receipt or other instrument, whereby the funds of the society may be exposed to loss, shall be subject to the same prosecution, and if convicted, shall be liable to be punished in like manner as any person not a member would be subject and liable to in respect of the like offence.
Societies enabled to alter, extend or abridge their purposes.	12. Whenever it shall appear to the governing body of any society registered under this Act, which has been established for any particular purpose or purposes, that it is advisable to alter, extend or abridge such purpose to or for other purposes within the meaning of this act, or to amalgamate such society either wholly or partially with any other society, such governing body may submit the proposition to the members of the society in a written or printed report and may convene a special meeting for the consideration thereof according to the regulations of the society.
	But no such proposition shall be carried into effect sunless such report shall have been delivered or sent by post to every member of the society ten days previous to the special meeting convened by the governing body for the consideration there of, nor unless such proposition shall have been agreed to by the votes of three-fifths of members delivered in person or by proxy, and confirmed by the votes of three-fifths of the members present at a second special meeting or convened by the governing body at an interval of one month after the former meeting.
Provision for dissolution of societies and adjustment of their affairs	13. Any number not less than three-fifths of the members of any society may determine that it shall be dissolved, and thereupon it shall be dissolved forth with, or at the time then agreed upon, and all necessary steps shall be taken for the disposal and settlement of the property of the society, it claims and liabilities, according to the rules of the said society applicable there to, if any and, if not, then as the governing body shall find expedient, provided that, in the event of any dispute arising among the said governing body or the members of the society, the adjustment of its affairs shall be referred to the principal Court of original civil jurisdiction of the district in which the chief building of the society is situate; and the Court shall makes such order in the matter as it shall deem requisite:
Assent required	Provided that no society shall be dissolved unless three-fifths of the members shall have expressed a wish for such dissolution by their votes delivered in person, or by proxy, at a general meeting convened for the purpose:
Government consent.	Provided that 1[whenever any Government] is a member of or a contributor to, or otherwise interested in, any society registered under this Act, such society shall not be dissolved 2[without the consent of the Government of the Province of registration].
Upon a dissolution no member to receive profit.	14. If upon the dissolution of any society registered under this Act there shall remain after the satisfaction of all its debts and liabilities any property what so ever, the same shall not be paid to or distributed among the members of the said society or any of them, but shall be given to some other society, to be determined by the votes of not less than three-fifths of the members present personally or by proxy at the time of the dissolution, or in default there of, by such Court as aforeasaid:

Clause not to apply to joint stock companies	Provided, however, that this clause shall not apply to any society which shall have been founded or established by the contributions of shareholders in the nature of a joint-stock Company.
Member defined	15. For the purpose of this Act a member of society shall be a person who, having been admitted therein according to the rules and regulations there of , shall have paid a subscription or shall have signed the roll or list of members there of, and shall not have resigned in accordance with such rules and regulations; but in all proceedings under this Act no person shall be entitled to vote or to be counted as a member whose subscription at the time shall have been in arrear for a period exceeding three monts.
Governing body defined.	16. The governing body of the society shall be the governors, council, directors, committee, trustees or other body to whom by the rules and regulation of the society the management of its affairs is entrusted.

16 (A) Super session of Governing body of a Society.

(I) Not with standing anything contained in the memorandum of association, rules or regulations of a society registered under this Act, if, after such inquiry as may be necessary the Provincial Government is of the opinion that the governing body of the society.

is unable to discharge or persistently fails in discharging its duties, or
in unable to administer its affairs or meet its financial obligations, or
generally acts in a manner contrary to public interest or the interests of the members of the society.

the Provincial Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, declare the governing body to be superseded for such period, not exceeding one year, as may be specified in the notification.2

(2) On the publications of a notification under sub-section (I), ---

the office-bearers and other members of the governing body shall cease to hold office ; and
all sanctions of the governing body shall, during the period of super session, be performed by a governing body constituted by the Provincial Government or by such authority as the Provincial Government may appoint for the purpose.

(3) On the expiry of the period of super session, the governing body of the society shall be reconstituted in accordance with its memorandum of association, rules and regulations.

17. Any company or society established for a literary, scientific or charitable purpose, and registered under 1Act XLIII of 1850, or any such society established and constituted previously to the passing of this Act but not registered under the said Act XLIII of 1850, may at any time hereafter be registered as a society under this Act; subject to the proviso that not such company or society shall be registered under this Act unless as assent to its being so registered has been given by three-fifths of the members resent personally, or by proxy, at some general meeting convened for that purpose by the governing body. In the case of a company or society registered under Act XLIII of 1850, the directors shall be deemed to be such governing body.
In the case of a society not so registered, if no such body shall have been constituted on the establishment of the society, it shall be competent for the members there of, upon due notice, to create for itself a governing body to act for the society thence- forth.
18. In order to any such society as is mentioned in the last preceding section obtaining registry under this Act, it shall be sufficient that the governing body file with the Registrar of Joint-stock 2Companies a memorandum showing the name of the society, the objects of the society, and the names, addresses and occupations of the governing body, together with a copy of the rules and regulations of the society certified as provided in section 2, and a copy of the report of the proceedings of the general meeting which the registration was resolved on. Inspection of documents.

19. Any person may inspect all documents filed with the registrar under this Act on payment of a fee of a one rupee for each inspection, and any person may require a copy or extract of any document or anypart of any document, to be certified by the registrar, on payment of two annas for every hundred words of such copy or extract; and such certified copy shall be prima facie evidence of the matters therein contained in all legal proceedings whatever.

• Partnership deed should be on judicial papers worth Rs. 500 in the name of the firm duly signed by all partners and witness with complete particulars thereof. One copy attested by notary public or Class-1 officer should be attached.
• Chalan form of Rs. 100 deposited in National Bank of Pakistan or State Bank of Pakistan should be attached. Payment should be in favor of Registrar of Firms, District Rawalpindi and head of accounts should be as follows:
• “1264605” fee under Registration Act 1032”.
• Photocopies of National Identity Cards of all partners duly attested by notary public or Class-1 Officers will be Attach.
• Attach proof of ownership or rent agreement of head office of the firm. Copy should be attested by Notary Public or Class-1 Officer.
• Any person other than partners can also lodge application of registration, provided he/she has authority letter from partners on judicial paper duly attested by notary Public or Class-1 Officer, Lawyers are only required to give request on their letter-head along with attorney.

• After completion of all pre-requisites, please submit all the produced documents to the Assistant District Officer (Incharge Registration Section of Firms) in person.

You need to record all the manual checks that you written out of the checkbook. You will need to follow these steps, when you are going to print a check that you have not entered an invoice for. Here, you should remember the only difference is that, you will enter a check number. After entering the check number, the system will enter the number, automatically, when you print the check. You need to follow the instructions that are written to print a draw check.

	Ø Go to Tasks and click on the tab of Payments.
	Ø After clicking on payments, you need to enter the Vendor Id # in the appropriate field.
	Ø Then enter the check # of the payment check in the Check # field.
	Ø Then enter the date the check was written in the Date field.
	Ø After entering the date, you need to go to the Cash Account field and enter the account from which the money will be withdrawn.
	Ø Then go to the Description field, and enter a description of what the payment was for.
	Ø After doing it, you should go to the GL Account field, and enter there the account number to which you are assigning this particular vendor's services (ie: Postage, Office Supplies, Health Insurance, etc.). You can set up new accounts in the same manner that you have set up new Vendors, Customers, etc.
	Ø Then you will be needed to enter the amount of the check in the Amount field.
	Ø Then Enter job # if appropriate, in the Job field.
	Ø Then on the tab of Click Post, and if you need to enter more checks you should repeat steps 2 through 9.
	Ø And finally you will need to go the tab of Click Close if you are done entering checks.

Remember: You can assign a vendor a permanent account number which Peachtree will then fill in by default every time you enter this vendors ID in the Payments window by following the following steps:

1.	Go to and Click on the magnifying glass next to the Vendor ID field.
2.	Then Click New Record if you are entering a new vendor.
3.	Then Fill in the Vendor ID, the Vendor Name, and all the general information about that vendor in the General Tab.
4.	And then Click on the Purchase Defaults tab and assign the vendor a Purchase Account #. (Again you can click on the magnifying glass to choose an account already set up-highlight the account and click OK or double-click the account itself to enter it into the Purchase Account field.)
5.	If you want to create a new Purchase Account, you can do it by clicking on New and filling out that window assigning the new account an ID #, Description, and Account type. Click Save and Close to enter the new account #.

Remember: When entering a draw account everything is the same in the above steps except make sure that your purchase account is your draw account - 39007. Your cash account will still be Firstrust Checking.

Next assign a unique Customer ID - The customer ID can be an abbreviation of the company name.

As it is crystal clear that, by the end of 2013, the US and its NATO alloys have made countless illegal attacks and cruelties’ against various Muslims countries. They have killed countless innocent peoples including children, women, elders and older.

They have also looted the wealth, containing oil and gas reserves in Middle East countries like Iraq, Qatar, and the like more, and uranium, gold and other precious stones from Afghanistan and other invaded Muslims countries. The list of these barbarisms, of US and NATO forces, is not ending here; it goes to be very lengthy. Numerous peoples have lost their lives due to carpet bombardment of these invaded forces. The main aim of the US, to attack Afghanistan, is to control China and Pakistan, from further economic and other developments, as China is going to be the super power, in the near future.

Although, it is a hard nut to crack, to rebuild and regain the damaged positive side of the US and the NATO forces to the Muslim Umma, but the US and the NATO forces still have the chances to solve these problems through dialogs and mutual understandings. They have to show practically that we are sincere with the Muslim Umma, and that we apologize for what we don in the past.

But one day you must be called to account for these actions of cruelties. Therefore, it will be more suitable that, before any Muslim woke up, the US and its alloys and especially their media should change their attitude towards the Muslims, recall all the army from all the Muslims countries and apologies for all these illegal actions. Still they have the time to do so; bring peace and prosperity in the world, and make this world as paradise for its residents.

Let us play a big role for bringing peace, prosperity, love, unity and other good moral characters. And try to be united for the good will of this world, let us eradicate all those gross snakes & black sheep’s; either it is among Muslims or Non-Muslims, who are not in favor of unity, peace, prosperity. Let us try to make this world, once again, a sample of paradise, and let us show to the world that neither Muslims are terrorist nor non-Muslims are terrorists. But terrorist are those who have no religion, no sense, no feelings, no parents, no children, no wives, and have no relatives. No religion of the world allowed their followers to kill an innocent person; either it is Muslim or Non-Muslim. Together, we can bring change.

Who are terrorists? It is common question in the present arena. Most peoples, especially the western peoples, think that Muslims are terrorists, but the reality is other. Let me explain this issue. I will start from the previous decade, when the 9/11, took place, because the term terrorism was not as common to the world as it is now. The term gained more popularity when the 9/11 incident occurred. The western countries and their governments have just washed the eyes of their peoples. They think that these attacks were from the Muslims, but have anyone thought about that who was behind these attacks, and who made the videos of these attacks, even, when the attacks were continued there were some peoples who were making live videos? Is this was by chance or preplanned?

Let us go the other side, try to think more deeply, and look at the points very carefully. I will give some examples, by the help of it you will be able to think in the right direction.

First, I will, start from the Bosnia. Have ever you thought that who are involves behind the Bosnian war? Have you seen any Muslims attacking the Russian Army or any of their civilian in Russia? Is this not Non-Muslims, the Russian, who occupied the whole country of Bosnia? Now you have to decide that who are terrorists, the Bosnian peoples or the Russian Army?

Can anyone of you bring evidence that any Palestinian attacked the Israeli army or their citizen? Anyone of you ever thought that who are behind the Palestinian war? Are these not the Jews and Christians, who collectively planned to fulfill the dream of the greater Israel? Yes, off course these are Israelis that are attacking, every day, the innocent Palestinians, by using the most advanced technology of USA. And on the other hand these innocent Palestinians are responding, as seen through free media, with stones. Now you have to decide that who are terrorists, the Palestinian peoples or the Israeli Army?

Now let’s come to the Afghanistan. Have anyone of you seen or heard that any Afghani crossed the seven seas and went to the USA or any other NATO country and attacked their army or any of their citizens? The answer is No, it is the US army and the NATO forces that, crossed the seven seas, and came here and, attacking the innocent Afghani peoples. According to the free media and other sources, they, the US and NATO forces have destroyed thousands of homes and in the same way millions of peoples, including Childs, women, and older peoples have been killed, by the US and NATO forces, in this US imposed war on terror. They have made countless Childs orphans, a large number of women widows, and millions of older peoples lost their lives, in this US and NATO imposed war on terror. A wonderful point is that when the Afghani peoples defending their self from further cruelties, and want to eradicate these foreign elements from their country, they are called terrorists, Taliban, and some other names are given to them. But on the other hand the US and NATO forces have crossed the international boundaries and attacking every day on innocent Afghani peoples, they are called peace loving peoples. Now you have to decide that who are terrorists, the US & NATO forces or the innocent Afghani peoples.

In 2003, the US and its alloys, the UK, made another drama, crossed the boundaries of a sovereign country, and attacked the Iraqi peoples. Here, also you have to decide, that have you ever heard or seen that any Iraqi resident or their army went and attacked the US or any other alloys, the Non-Muslims, here the answer is also No; it was the US and its alloys that deceived the world with this US and UK made drama. They used the name of Arms of Mass Destruction, and attacked the innocent peoples of Iraq. The IAEA team confirmed that Iraq has no arms of mass destructions, and their government is fully cooperating with IAEA team members, but the western countries continued to full fill their aim and insisted to attack the Iraq. In fact the main purpose of them was not eradication of arm of mass destruction, but to occupy the Oil Fields and their reservoirs of the most important and the large country related to Oil. When the Iraqi peoples defending their self they are calling terrorist and the when the US army, crossing the international borders, attacking the sovereign country, making the Childs orphans & parentless, the women widows, destroying their country, occupying their oil reservoirs, so they are calling peace loving peoples. No, no, no; this is totally injustice. And you must be call to account for these actions of cruelty.

Let take another example, that Kashmir, which is well known to each and every one, who have a little bit study of history. In 1947, when Pakistan and India separated from each other, there were several states, and it was collectively decided and rights were given to each state to decide about their own future. They can join both the countries on majority basis. For example a state have majority of Muslims, they can join Pakistan, and a state having majority of Hindus, can join India. Kashmir was a state of majority of Muslim peoples & according to rules they given their decision in favor of Pakistan. They decided to join Pakistan, because majority of them were Muslims. But India attacked them and occupied the whole territory of Kashmir. The Indian army has killed more than one millions innocent Kashmiris in the war of freedom. Here also, the Kashmiri peoples fighting for their freedom is knows as terrorists, and the Indian army that illegally occupied the Kashmir, are known as peace loving army.

Recently, the US and its alloyed countries, consisting the France, Germany & UK and some other western countries attacked on another Muslim country, the Libya, and killed thousands of peoples there. The rebellions, with the full cooperation of these countries, killed the leader of Libya. The sad point is that every time they have attacked the innocent Muslims countries and their peoples. We have never seen that these forces have attacked any Non-Muslim country. Every time they attacked the Muslim countries.

In short, the US and its alloyed forces, that consisting the NATO, have killed collectively more than Four Million Muslims, by using different terminologies, the drama of war on terror in Afghanistan, the arms of mass destruction in Iraq, the restoration of democracy in Libya and some other terms.

In simple words, there are countless other examples by which one can decide and reach to the final results that who are terrorists. Everywhere, the innocent Muslims are under attack, the occupied forces and countries are playing with their sovereignty, making their children orphans & parent less, their women widows, their sisters brother less, their brothers sister less, their older & parents childless. And still the Muslims are called terrorists and the occupied forces are called peace loving peoples. Is this justice, can any one of you can say it justice.

The Muslims would be terrorists in that case when they have made any non-Muslims child orphan, any woman widow, and any parent childless, or looted their wealth. But the case is totally opposite; the occupied forces looted all the wealth of the Muslims countries and unfortunately still Muslims are called terrorists.

Now, you have to decide that who are terrorists, either it is Muslims or the US and NATO forces?

US’s Double faced policy on Malala Yousafzai and Afia Siddiqi

The United States of America has adopted a double faced policy on the Malala Yousafzay and Afia Siddiqi. When Malala Yousafzay was attacked in swat, all the social society of the world, and the media, especially the western yellow press and media have given an extraordinary attention to it. The US, narrow minded, female senators has given a statement in this direction that all the terrorism should be nibbed from the bud. They also stated in their statement that the attack on Malala Yousafzay is the violation of the human rights. But, at the same time, they forget it that there is another prisoner in their country, named Afia Siddiqui. If they draw upon their memory, they will be able to know the real facts about her innocent imprisonment, in their country. She is innocently kept in prison for the last few years, even thought, the crime on her also not verified. And no proper evidence has been presented against her in the court of law.

Now a few questions arises that, are justified in their demands.

1. Where were they gone, when the court issued life imprisonment against her?

2. Why have they not demanded for her rights?

3. Are the levels of human rights violations are not applying on Afia Siddiqui?

It shows clearly shows two important points about the US system.

The first one is that courts in US are not free to work as it is, all in all, in Pakistan. The court in the US has clearly followed suit and acted on the instructions of the CIA.

The second point that this decision shows is that the US government has adopted a double face policy against the Muslim world. It also shows that the US senators, especially those, who have demanded that the criminals elements of Malala Yousafzay should be bring into account. But here these female senators once again forget that Afia Siddiqui is also innocent, and those who brought her into their country, should also bear the brunt of justice. And a stern action should be taken against them, and all the black sheep in CIA and in the US army should be dismissed.

We are, not against Malala Yousafzai, trying to bring home this point in the minds of those responsible authorities that when Malala Yousafzai is innocent then the same level also applies on Afia Siddiqui. When the attack on Malala Yousafzay is the critical violation of human rights, then keeping an innocent woman, for several years, in prison is also the critical violation of human rights. When Malala Yousafzay has clean hands then Afia Siddiqui also has clean hands. The US female senators should not bury their heads in the sand and should face the facts. I think that they are misguided, and they have blindly followed the western media. The attitude of the US female senators is not based on the justice, and out of keeping with the justice. They should also hold brief for Afia Siddiqui. It is a golden opportunity for them and we advised them that if they want to hold up their head, they should also support the cause of Afia Siddiui, and should recommend a resolution in the senate in the favor of Afia Siddiqui, because now she is at the mercy of them. And what they want, they can do with her, as they have done it. Because in spite of lack of evidence they have kept her in charge.

It is in the air, not only in Pakistan but, all over the world that USA has always proved to be a snake in the gross, and a clear enemy of Muslims countries, because they have always adopted double faced policy with the Muslim countries. But now it is an opportunity for them, and they should try their best on the spur of the moment, and also raise their voices in the US senate in favor of Afia Siddiqui. The US government should immediately wind up their double game policy against the Muslim world, especially Pakistan. They should play a fair play with Pakistan, and should set a good example for their next generation. When they finish such activities a soft corner will be created about the US government. And every one will back up them. And if they continue to stick to their guns, then they will be always in bad books, not only of Pakistani peoples but of all over the world.

Who is responsible for, illegal posting and favoritism in Abdul wali khan university Mardan?

Before the election general election of 2008, there were many slogan of ANP, a nationalist political party, but the establishment of university in Mardan was also one of them. As the ANP become the major political party in the provincial assembly in 2008, and Amir Haider Hoti become the chief minister of Khyber pakhtoonkhwa, he announced the establishment of university for the peoples of Mardan, as it was the dream of the residents of Mardan and the surrounding areas. Therefore, Abdul wali khan university Mardan was established in 2009.

As the university came into being, Mr. Dr Ihsan Ali, who was also providing services as vice Chancellor in Hazara University, became the first vice chancellor of this university. Although, he has worked hard for the development of this university and all the credit goes to him for its quick development.

As a university came into being, it requires management, faculty, and other clerical staff to handle the newly born university professionally. But it is very sorry to say and it is crystal clear that this university lack of this facility. There are two main reasons for this lack of facility.

The first one is ANP, and
The second one is its Vice Chancellor Mr. Ihsan Ali.

It is believed that nearly 90% of its staff, in all categories including administration staff, faculty staff and clerical staff from BPS 1 to BPS 19, has been hired on the basis of political influence of ANP, a nationalist party of KPK. If one throw a bird eye view on the list of these hired staff, it can easily be understood that it consist of ANP workers. And most of them have no knowledge of the ABC of the university. If one look at the advertisement of these posts it can be seen their that experience is must for all these posts. They collect a large number of pools of funds from a very large number of candidates who are in the search of employment. After submitting applications, the university doesn’t send any call letter for test/interview. Most of the short listing is on the basis of favoritism and open bargaining. If some is fortunately short listed for test, and if he have no links with any political party like ANP and PPPP then he will not be called for interview, even though if he has passed the test. I would also like to throw light on the test process of this university. The test system of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (also known as AWKUM) is very poor. If we compare the testing system of AWKUM and the University of SWAT, we will reach to the results that Swat University has a very fair testing system. Most of their tests are arranged through National Testing Service (NTS).

The second reason for nepotism and favoritism in this university, as I have mentioned in the above lines, is its corrupt and political vice chancellor, Dr. Ihsan Ali. It is also very clear that Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ihsan Ali, has proved to be the most corrupt person in this regard. It will not be wrong if say that the vice chancellor of this university has proved a black sheep of this university. He has distributed a large number of posts ranging from BPS 5 to BPS 19 among their relatives. If some one visit the university he will find it that most of its staff member belongs to Mr. Ihsan Ali brotherhood. Similarly other top level officer has entered their relatives like brothers, sisters, nephews and the like more.

In short if we say that merit has always been destroyed in Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), it will not be wrong. If some one doesn’t believe on this article and not agree with me, I suggest them to apply for any post, in this university, and then told me that what happened with him or them. As I have remained the student of Management science MBA (Finance) in this university for two years, therefore, I have the experience of such things in this university. In the department of management science most unprofessional staff has been hired as faculty members. Most of them have recently completed their education and as they belong to major political parties of KPK, therefore, top level grades, like BPS 18 and 19, has been given to them. I have personally met with such staff members in the office of controller of examination, and found them of having no basic skill of computer. They have no idea that how to use computer, how to work with it, and the like more.

Conclusion: I would like to give an end to my article with a few sentences that if Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan remained in the hand of Ihsan Ali, as vice chancellor, soon or latter, it will reach to its end. And the people of Mardan will, of course, be deprived of this valuable educational institute. And only and only the Vice chancellor and the Govt of ANP will be responsible for it.

We, therefore, kindly request to the Chief Minister of KPK, Mr. Amir Haider Hoti, to remove the vice chancellor of this university on immediate basis and save the university from further destruction. If he remained on this post for more a year or two, then will find here only the staff of members of ANP, PPPP and the relatives of Ihsan Ali.

Energy From Seaweed

With increasing fuel prices over the past two decades, there has been growing interest in using biofuels as suources of energy. Biofuels are fuels that derive their energy by conversion of carbon dioxide to organic compounds, (a process known as “carbon fixation) through the involvement of organisms.

A simple example is that of bioethanol -- an alcohol produced by fermentation largely from carbohydrates found in sugarcane or corn. Ethanol can also be produced from grass, leaves and other cellulose containing materials. However, if wheat, corn or sugarcane are used to serve as the biomass for fuel production, then valuable land area that can be used for producing food crops has to be diverted for production of biofuels. With a growing world population that has now crossed the seven billion mark, and with large areas of our planet suffering from water stress and desertification, we can hardly afford to set aside large land areas for growing biofuel producing crops instead of food crops. This has been a major criticism against the production of biofuels.

Now scientists working at Bio Architecture Lab (BAL) at Berkleyh have carried out some biochemical wizardry to circumvent this problem--they have succeded in transforming common seaweed into biofues! The dicovery has triggered the formation of a start-up company in Chile that is carrying out off-shore farming on 200 acres to produce large quantaties of seaweed (brown micr-algae) that can then be converted into ethanol using a fermentation process with a microorganism. According to BAL scientists, about three per cent of coastal waters globally are sufficient to produce 227 billion liters of biofuels annually.

In tomorro's world, the seashores may well become the energy producing reservoirs of our planet.

Micro-rocket--in your stomach

Scientists at the University of California, San Diego, have developed hydrogen bubble-powered micro-rockets that can be steered to the targeted sites and release their pay loads. These micro-rockets are tiny 10 micrometre long polyaniline tubes with a diameter of a few micrometres. The tubes are lined internally with zinc that reacts with acid in the stomach to generate hydrogen bubbles. These bubbles propel the tubes forward at high speeds reaching 380 mph, depending on the pH of the stomach. The tubes can be coated on the out side with magnetic materials, thereby allowing them to be guided magnetically to a targeted site.

Supercavitation involoves creating a bubble of gas inside a liquid that is large enough to surround an object traveliing thorugh it. Supercavitation has been used in high speed torpedoes in the past but now Juliet Marine Systems (JMS) in New Hampshire, USA, have applied it to the world's first supercavitating watercraft. The flying watercraft is being developed for the US navy as a super-fast stealth system that can approach enemy ships undetected by their radar. The watercraft is fited with the latest stealth technologies and since it is traveling in water surrounded by giant bubble, it experiences 900 fold less friction. Ideal for transporting soldiers to enemy beaches or carring thousands of pounds of weapons and toredoes to enemy teritories, the "flying machine" is considered as an important element in next generation warfare equipment.

Given the security situation in Pakistan, there is urgent need of technology that will allow scanning of bodies for concealed weapens to be carried out from a distance. This will prevent criminals from coming too close with weapons concealed under their clothing. No such technology existed-till now!

The New York Police Department and the United States Department of Defence have been involved together in the development of remote sensing devices that will detect weapons remotely. The portable scanner relies on the infrared rays produced from the body. An image of these rays cab be detected by the scanner. If a weapon is present, then the infrared rays are blocked by the metal and a silhoutte of the weapon can be seen. The range of the equipment is being extended so that it can detect concealed weapons from a distance of 82 feet.

Kepler spacecraft has been searching for planets in a particular region of our galaxy. It does this by monitoring the change in brightness of these stars when planets cross in front of them. In December 2011, Kepler discovered a planet in the “habitable zone” (Kepler-22b) that was 2.4 times the size of our planet, earth. The habitable zone is the zone near a star which is the right distance for life to exist. If it is too close, it will be too hot for water (if present) to exist as a liquid and for life to evolve, while if it is too far, it will too cold and water will exist as ice, preventing evolution from occurring.

Kepler has now discovered the tiniest solar system known so far. It comprises a single red dwarf and three small planets that are half and three-quarter the size of the earth. The smallest of the planets has a surface temperature of 400C and it is about the same size as Mars.
