After an extended hiatus, I’ve decided to change the format of the show pretty significantly from what it was last year. Things to note:

Given that we’re now releasing monthly, in order to provide more content throughout the month, I plan to start editing and releasing interviews immediately after doing them. That way, the monthly show will be a compilation of the best parts of the interviews, giving an overview of that month’s content.

Instead of two general interest interviews per month, I’m now going to have two news-related interviews to start the show, followed by a longer general interest interview.

I’m also seeking some collaborative help for the news portions of the show — if interested, please contact me.

-Ændrew Rininsland, Producer

Hotbox Radio is looking for a talented individual to fill the role of Associate Producer.

While I enjoy hearing the sound of my own voice, I think the show would be much more successful with another person on board. Duties can include everything from setting up and recording interviews to recording intro music to whatever you think would make the show better.

This is a voluntary position at the moment; however, you’ll gain experience working in a professional recording studio — and I’ll buy the nachos at meetings.

No prior experience is necessary (One of the benefits is training at CJSW 90.9 FM), but those who know their way around Logic Studio will be given priority. Responsibilities will include recording and editing interviews for the show; bonus points if you’re willing to blog about your topics.

If there are enough people interested, I may restructure the show and return to a biweekly release schedule.

Please send resume and a cover letter to: aendrew@hotbox.fm with subject “ATTN RE: Associate Producer”.

As we’re nearing the end of 2010, I’m focusing on retooling aspects of the show for the new year.

Schedule change

For all of our regular listeners, I apologize for how sporadic the show has been. Though I’ve gotten close to releasing two shows a month, the last while it’s been closer to one every three weeks or so. Given this — for the moment, anyway — I think it makes sense to change the release schedule to one episode per month, released on the last Sunday of every month.

December show

Regardless of the above, expect to see December’s show sometime before December 20th.

Looking for Associate Producer

I may return the show to a biweekly schedule if I can get some help with it. To this end, I am looking for an Associate Producer. I will eventually attach more info.

Thanks to everyone who regularly listens! If you have any suggestions or feedback, please email feedback@hotbox.fm or use this form.

Cheers,

-Ændrew Rininsland

If you haven’t started listening to Hotbox Radio yet, now’s the time — September’s interview schedule is already looking awesome.

Sept. 11, 2010 — DMT: The Spirit Molecule special

We will be speaking with DMT: The Spirit Molecule Director Mitch Schultz, as well as Producer and DMT Researcher Dr. Rick Strassman for the majority of the hour. For more information on Dr. Strassman’s work and the upcoming documentary, please visit thespiritmolecule.com.

Sept. 25, 2010 — Robots and More

Our first interview for the Sept. 26 show will be writer Keith Curtis, whose recent book, After the Software Wars, discusses why software is utterly important in developing the technologies of the future, and why our current development practices are preventing us from having robot-driven cars (among many other things). If you are an artist, designer, musician or programmer, you won’t want to miss this episode.

We’re also still looking for one or two more interviews to fill the rest of the Sept. 25 show. If interested, please contact us ASAP.

Change of release day

After some consideration, we feel Saturday evening is a more appropriate time to release episodes. Update your calendars, please!
