The system initially is being offered to customers using NTT Com’s Tier 1 Global IP Network in Japan. DDoS attacks are malicious attempts to render network servers unavailable to legitimate users. Distributed attacks, as compared with single attacks, use denial-of-service methods such as commanding multiple PCs or servers to send mass amounts of data that overload the targeted server and thereby deny it from providing its intended services. The new system is designed for enterprises using NTT Com’s transit and collocation transit services for IPv4 traffic. The most advanced version of the system combines traffic-analysis software and mitigation devices to detect and protect against DDoS attacks. Remote installation is achieved via NTT Com’s global Tier 1 backbone, resulting in lower costs and simpler operation of the system on the customer’s side. The system sends an alert to the customer if network traffic suddenly exceeds a preset threshold. A dedicated screen connected to the system enables the customer to monitor the situation in real time during a suspected DDoS attack, as well as analyze traffic under normal conditions. The advanced version, which provides traffic analysis and both DDoS attack detection and mitigation protection, costs from 682,500 yen (tax included) for installation and 420,000 yen (tax included) monthly. NTT Com is considering offering upgraded Mitigation devices and software for more enhanced DDoS protection, as well as launching an international version of the system.

The new touchscreen device will be unveiled at the Nokia World conference in September, say industry insiders, as the Finnish handset giant tries to revive its fortunes in the smartphone market. Nokia, which makes roughly four out of every 10 mobile phones sold, has been losing out in the market for phones that can access the internet, send emails and download third-party applications, to products such as the Apple iPhone and BlackBerry Storm. The Android software platform, meanwhile, has been gaining ground with over half a dozen handsets expected to be available by the end of the year. Opting to use Android, an “open source” platform that any software developer can access, is a reversal of the company’s previous strategy in mobile phone software. Gadget fans have already hacked one of Nokia’s existing devices, the N810 internet tablet, so it can run the Android system but the new device is expected to fully integrate the Android platform.

Both will be world phones. Also, Snap will release on the 15th of July, the Pro2 shortly after (within the month)”. More confirmation of these upcoming devices has been noticed by Michael at BGR stating the same price points but with the Touch Pro2 having a launch date on the 21st of July. The Snap seems priced to sell at $29.99, hopefully it comes in at that price. For TELUS this will make a great July and greatly improve their lineup as for the past several devices have only been entry level ones. If you had to choose, which one woud you go for The upcoming BlackBerry Tour, HTC Snap or Touch Pro2.

Using this technology, operators can boost their UMTS data throughput by up to 60 percent and deliver a user experience that is comparable to LTE in a similar channel bandwidth. The technology also enables UMTS operators to increase voice capacity by up to 45 percent. ULIC technology can deliver improved system capacity by eliminating interference from multiple uplink data streams. Enabled by the increased level of integration possible in today’s commercial chips, ULIC brings the performance of CDMA-based modems close to their theoretical limits. The design is scalable and supports cancellation for a large number of simultaneous users and transmissions on the uplink.

With the Nokia Messaging service, M1 customers will be able to enjoy push email service on the go at a very affordable price. By subscribing to any of the bundled data plans specially customized for this service, M1 customers will be the first in Singapore to be able to use Nokia Messaging on more than 20 Nokia handset models at a low cost. M1 customers can, for example, sign up for the SunSurf Lite data plan at just 5.35 SGD per month, which is bundled with 20MB of free data, to enjoy Nokia Messaging with any of the designated Nokia handsets. This collaboration between Nokia and M1 will allow M1 customers to have their email pushed directly to their Nokia handsets from popular email service providers such as Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail. The service is also compatible with local Internet service providers, such as Pacific Internet, Cyberway and Qala. With Nokia Messaging, users will be able to set up their accounts in three simple steps. Push email technology ensures that emails are sent to the mobile device as soon as they arrive at the mail server.

It will be part of Sony Ericsson’s series of XPERIA products. We’ve got our hands on internal documents about the phone, that seems to have the potential to be a sales success. The phone is based on the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon platform, that enables processor speeds up to 1 GHz, and HSPA-speeds up to 7.2 Mbps. This platform will also sport great 3D graphics capabilities. The phone’s built-in camera is an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus. There’s also a 3.5 mm jack connector as well as a mini-USB connector at the top of the phone. The touch screen seems to be quite large, but as of yet there is no specific information about its size.
