The Boss released the album last March and started his promotional tour "Wrecking Ball World Tour 2012". This album has broken the record for sales on iTunes with Sony producing it of Bruce, which contains the single "We take care of our own" which is said to be a "classics by Springsteen with anguish and defiance" style of the time "Born to Run". This is an album that deals with the problem of financial disaster that took the houses and ruined the lives of countless American families.

The European tour opens in Seville on May 13, continues the 15 in Palma, and in Barcelona on 17 and 18, to continue in Donostia-San Sebastian on June 2. He will leave the peninsula 17 June, with a last concert in Madrid.

Remember, for Hotel Curious is means a Discouncert and you have a 10% discount by showing the ticket to the concert!

Every May 11 is celebrated in Calle Hospital, the Sant Ponç Fair, patron saint of beekeepers and herbalists. This tradition took shape yesteryear when once in the spring the herbalists brought healing herbs to sell. There you can find healing herbs, honey, sweets, fruits preserved in syrup (canned fruit) and candied fruits.

The staff from Hostal Mare Nostrum did a small story last year and here we post it for showing some images from the fair, we hope you enjoy it!

Gaudí Bridal Fashion parades are about to start in this International Exhibition for the bride (and the groom!) in Spain!

The 22nd edition of this event has more than 230 exhibiting brands and the consolidation of this event is more than clear, more and more international each year in the global market of bridal fashion. This year, the percentage of foreigners has reached 50% and it includes additions of global significance as Carlo Pignatelli, Hannibal Laguna, Zuhair Murad, ZM Woman, Joana Montez & Patricia de Melo. This year, moreover, strengthens the communion segment.

Under the program, it is noteworthy that on Tuesday, May 8 (the first of the four days of the GAUDÍ BRIDES) starts with the parade of ROSA CLARÁ. Brand new PRONOVIAS collection, on Friday 11, will close the program, including, once again, a relation of authentic reference designers unveil their proposals.

A whole week of dance, music and good food!

As everyone knows, la Feria de Abril is the perfect excuse to spend some stunning Andalucian Holidays/Fiesta. In Barcelona, as in Seville (where the show was originated), it is celebrated with much passion, as the Andalusian population of Barcelona is huge. An amusement park, hundreds of stands, stages, bars, tapas of good quality, paella, flamenco shows and good music will meet in the Parc del Forum from Friday April 27 and for a week long.

Dancers and musicians will have the highest level in these flamenco shows. Take a look at this year's poster, presented on April 11, a nod to the exchange of symbols and origins.

This celebration is a symbol of unity between cultures and has weighed out in Barcelona for almost thirty years (it was in 1983 when it was inaugurated by the Federation of Andalusian Cultural in Catalonia). If you've never been to la Feria de Abril, this year it will be more spectacular than ever. This is even the first time that “sevillanas” will be sung in Catalan, according to Francisco Garcia Prieto (President of the Federation of Andalusian in Catalonia). For more information, please read the interview that elPeriódico published last April 22 (spanish version).

We recommend you to buy a lark, a comb, a nice ruffled dress and... dance!

My name is Laura Fernandez and I am responsible to find out what is said of Hotel Curious on the Internet (online reputation and positioning). I'm the Marketing and Communication manager of this charming little hotel in the heart of Barcelona. I am also a fan of social networks and the cheese pizza.

I was born and I live in Barcelona, a city of which I am deeply in love, I can't help it! I love people, weather, public transport, the beach and gastronomy of Barcelona. The neighborhood that I like the most is the Gothic Quarter. In my free time I love walking through its narrow streets and small squares and taking pictures of all the hidden corners of this ancient city. Plaza Sant Felip Neri is one of my favourites and the Gothic Bridge of the Wish is a “must” in Barcelona. They say that if you go under it, rise your eyes and find a skull, you can make a wish and it will come true.

What I like the most about Hotel Curious is the team that configures it. We are many people and each one of us works hard for the satisfaction of the guest. We have in mind that the customer is already our guest from the very moment in which he considers our hotel for his stay in Barcelona, so we all take care of every single detail: from the booking moment until the customer is gone.

What would I improve in the hotel? I would put kettles in the rooms and an ice machine in the hall. Many customers have asked us, and we're working on it. For the rest, I really love our hotel. It is perfect for city breaks: ideally located, quiet and great customer service. Oh, and WIFI is for free: that's VERY important!

Indeed, in Barcelona there are thousands of restaurants that I like, but if I have to recommend some nearby, it would be ATTIC, Rita Rouge and Irati. I love eating well!

This Saint, who was under the orders of the emperor Diocletian, refused to carry out the emperor's edict to persecute all Christians and for this reason he was martyred and decapitated by his companions. In the eastern part of the Roman Empire, he soon became venerated as a martyr and shortly after this, fantastic stories related to him began to appear.

The most popular legend in Catalonia about Sant Jordi tells that at Montblanc, in Conca de Barberà, there was a terrible dragon which viciously attacked men and beasts. To pacify it, lots were drawn and a person was chosen to be given as a sacrifice to the monster. One day, the misfortune fell on the king's daughter, who would have died in the beast's claws if it had not been for the arrival of a handsome knight (Sant Jordi) who challenged the dragon and killed it. This same legend, although with slight variations, is told as a popular legend in England, Portugal and Greece.

The main event is the exchange of gifts between sweethearts, loved ones and colleagues. Historically, men gave women roses, and women gave men a book to celebrate the occasion—"a rose for love and a book forever." In modern times, the mutual exchange of books is also customary. Roses have been associated with this day since medieval times, but the giving of books is a more recent tradition originating in 1923, when a bookseller started to promote the holiday as a way to commemorate the nearly simultaneous deaths of Miguel Cervantes and William Shakespeare on 23 April 1616.

Barcelona is the publishing capital of both Catalan and Spanish languages and the combination of love and literacy was quickly adopted.

In Barcelona's most visited street, La Rambla, and all over Catalonia, thousands of stands of roses and makeshift bookstalls are hastily set up for the occasion. By the end of the day, some four million roses and 800,000 books will have been purchased. Most women will carry a rose in hand, and half of the total yearly book sales in Catalonia take place on this occasion.

The sardana, the national dance of Catalonia, is performed throughout the day in the Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona. Many book stores and cafes host readings by authors (including 24-hour marathon readings of Cervantes' "Don Quixote"). Street performers and musicians in public squares add to the day's atmosphere.

23 April is also the only day of the year when the Palau de la Generalitat, Barcelona's principal government building, is open to the public. The interior is decorated with roses to honour Sant Jordi (Saint George).

If you are thinking about coming to Barcelona during these days, do not hesitate to ask Hotel Curious. We will be glad to give you our best rates!

We wish you enjoy this beautiful day.
