Found in the village of Harads in Northern Sweden, the Treehotel was inspired by the concept of “living in a tree house”. The hotel is composed of six uniquely themed rooms, each created by a different architect, as well as a conference/breakfast room and a sauna. Room sizes vary fromm 15-30 square meters and range between 4-6 meters from the ground, accessible by either ramp or sturdy stairs.

“In our spatial interpretations for the club, we aimed to evoke a sense of accessible elegance and modern authenticity that connects the modern traveler with the heritage of the location without harping on the irrelevant past.”

This is how Design Director and founder of Ministry of Design, Colin Sean, describes MOD’s latest project with Jane Yeo Design Consultants. The club by Harry’s Hospitality can be found at Ann Siang Road in Singapore, an area rich in oriental heritage with it’s traditional shop houses and time-honored Hui Kwans doting the streets.

Situated along the Pacific Coast, the Bristol Buenaventura is a beach hotel just 80 minutes away from Panama. With the interiors being a collaborative effort between Bristol Hotels President Fernando Duque and Darlene Pierpoint, it’s spacious villas are punctuated by angular modern furniture, giving a taste of both traditional and new, innovative design. The hotel also showcases a golf course designed by none other than professional golf legend, Jack Nicklaus of Nicklaus Design.

The first and only art hotel of Turkey, Casa Dell’Arte was established in 2007 by one of the important collector families of Turkey, the Buyukkusoglu family and in fact became the very first step of the first and only art brand of Turkey. Mrs. Fatos Buyukkusoglu, as an experienced designer, undertook the design part when the idea to establish an art hotel emerged. Her daughters; especially her elder daughter Mrs. Ahu Buyukkusoglu assisted her. The younger daughter of the family, Ms. Gamze Buyukkusoglu was as well included in the project. As an artist, based in NY, she participated in the project with her experience in art, providing the artist’s point of view.  There are 12 guest suites at the Hotel, each one of which is individually decorated. Each and every one of these suites is decorated differently and the artwork displayed in the rooms also varies. There are over 200 Turkish paintings displayed at the hotel, with 300 resident pieces that are revolving every year.  All of the beds & closets in the rooms are specially built by both Turkish & Italian furniture makers. All the other furnitures throughout the hotel are antique furnitures that the Buyukkusoglu family has collected over the years.

Located on the upper floor of the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin in Thailand, the Barai Balcony Suites enjoy a spacious private balcony with spectacular views of the Gulf of Thailand. It’s designed by the renowned Thai architect and interior designer, Mr. Lek Bunnag, and is inspired by the Khmer cultural heritage.

No, it’s not a set from a science-fiction film. This is a photo of the rather futuristic floor designed by Zaha Hadid at the Hotel Silken Puerta America sent in by k_man123 via our Hotel Design Flickr Group. The hotel itself, located in Madrid, features various interiors done by famous architects and designers.

Also known simply as Smyth, a Thompson Hotel, Thompson’s fifth Manhattan Property was conceived by architects Brennan Beer Gorman with interiors by Yabu Pushelberg. Located in the quiet, cobblestoned area of TriBeCa, the hotel mixes sleek and modern design with rich, vintage accents.
