You can enjoy monuments and museums that make Florence one of the most famous and visited city of the world, and in this period you can also assist to a singular florentine tradition: The Exploding of the Cart! The event’ll take place under the famous dome of Brunelleschi, at eleven o’clock when a LITTLE DOVE (wooden reproduction of the Dove, Easter symbol) run from the altar of the Duomo of Florence suspended in the nave of the cathedral until Carro Medeioevale that will be in the square in front of the Baptistery. If the Columbine manages to ignite the fireworks put on the wagon, Easter brings with him the good wishes of prosperity. “The outbreak of the Chariot” is in fact an event that evokes the evolution of Pazzino Pazzi who reported from Jerusalem, the sacred fire of the Holy Sepulcher, as a sign of joy for the resurrection of Jesus and bodes well for the crop during the spring / summer.

Before the event, the streets of Florence comes alive with the passage of the Historical Parade Fiorentino, and the sky with the tint of the city is enlivened by the Florentine flag-waving games of Florentines.

The review brings together some of the most famous works of De Chirico’s metaphysical period, paintings by Carrà and Morandi, masterpieces by René Magritte, Max Ernst and Balthus.

In dialogue with these pictures are presented very significant works by artists such as Niklaus Stoecklin, Arturo Nathan, Pierre Roy and Alberto Savinio, that on the open road from De Chirico moved into an area poised between expressive Metaphysics, Magic Realism, Surrealism and Neo – Romanticism.

This year celebrate the Carnival in Florence!

The VII° edition of the Florentine Carnival in the world will be a manifestation you can’t miss that on Sunday 14th February will involve the historical florentine neighborhoods in a colourful parade multi-ethnic communities of foreigners living in the city; the celebration of the long and illustrious history of Florence blends with the traditions of countries around the world in a spirit of joyful armony among nations.

The concert of “The Swingle Singers” will take place on Tuesday 16th, the glorious complex of eight vocalists that from more than 40 years fascinates audiences around the world, represents another valid alternative to spend Carnival. The impeccable technique, armony and fusion of musical timbres allow to Swingles to have a repertoire that passes from Bach to Jazz, from french madrigalists to Duke Ellington, from Mozart and Grshwin to Berio, Corghi and Boulez.
