Following the great success of the first edition in 2009, we are pleased to announce that the second Florence Art and Restoration Fair will take place from the 11th to the 13th November 2010 at the Stazione Leopolda.

This year the international vocation of the Fair is growing and, once again, the event promises to maintain an extremely high cultural and scientific level which reflects current research and trends in the world of cultural heritage. This year, the fair will be the first event of the Biennale dei Beni Culturali e Paesaggistici di Firenze, 10 days of exhibitions and conferences on the protection and promotion of international cultural and environmental heritage.

One of the greatest painters of the sixteenth century, Agnolo di Cosimo Tori, known as Bronzino (1503-1572), embodied the fullness of the ‘modern manner’ in the years of the government of Cosimo I de’ Medici.Florence is clearly the preferential location for a monographic exhibition on Bronzino, since the majority of his paintings are still conserved here, above all in the Uffizi, but also in other city museums and in the churches.

However, this is not an exhibition conceived solely for the specialists. It will comprise a selection of only works of the very highest level: autograph works by Bronzino and other artists connected with him – such as Pontormo and Alessandro Allori. The idea is, through direct comparisons made possible for the first time, to enable a broad public to admire and comprehend the unrivalled poetic heights achieved by the artist.

The literary festival ULTRA was born in 2009, by a desire for a committee of writers, local organizers and critics thirties: to give a national literary festival in Florence as durable cultural project, has a resonance on citizenship and territory, and producing concrete results during and after his performance.

In 2010, for 10 days, so ULTRA wants to create a truly welcoming community of writers, artists, professionals, citizens that inhabit the city. Hospitable means open and digital tactile and writer, collective and individual, regenerating and participatory. ULTRA 2010 is a festival so that its internal moments of recreation (concerts, workshops, reading), reflection (discussions and meetings), presentation of books, exploiting the best opportunities for participation of new wireless technologies.

The first exhibition that is dedicated to Giovanfrancesco Rustici, a sculptor born in 1475 in Florence, formed in the famous Garden of San Marco under the patronage of Lorenzo the Magnificent, the inheritor of the lesson workshops of Andrea del Verrocchio and Benedetto da Maiano.

Focal point of the exhibition is the masterpiece of the Cottage, of the Baptist Preaching, sculptural group of three magnificent bronze figures in the design and implementation participated in Leonardo da Vinci and was raised above the North Gate of the Baptistery in Florence in 1511.
