Over the course of a dozen performances, home-grown icons will line up alongside artists currently causing a buzz, all backed by a fantastic house band. All sets will feature tributes to legends Brenda Fassie, Miriam Makeba and Lucky Dube, as well as gospel and Afrikaans music medleys – a representation of the rich palette of local artistry.

Thanks to all those who attended the #MEX workshop yesterday with @popsmohamed @davereynolds . We were on for a treat as the room was packed with our very own #Global Stars. Dr Trevor Jones and Tony Cedras who were part of the audience and attended @musicexchange workshop. Pops Mohamed reflected on his history and heritage and how important it is to differentiate ourselves by using Our #African routes by been true to ourselves. Tony Cedras reflected on how he travelled in Africa to learn about African Instruments before leaving for the US as he knew they would want to hear something different and how important it was to differentiate yourself in the West. He went on explaining how they could never replicate our African heritage or Sounds, so we need to capitalize on that. Some very powerful and influential people connected at #MEX hoping to #Inspire the next generation of #Artists . Numbers were exchanged and collaborations created.]]>
