I still remember being told not to ‘poke a sleeping bear’ just as I was about to do something that would cause a tremendous reaction – and that’s exactly what I was repeating in my head as I read this book.

Though well written and interesting this book is a great resource. It’s an awesome ‘how to make twitter work for you’ book. Honestly, this book is also a great book to give to this up and coming generation to show them the power your words can have in social media.

Hott Review

A perfect adventure for a middle-grade reader. I’d suggest this book for someone with a reading level just above the ‘Boxcar Children’ Series but ready for a longer and more substantial adventure.

This was a perfect readying level for my second grader but still adventurous enough for my eighth grade.

Inside the Author: Regina Scott

I choose my ARCs with the whimsical nature of a two-year old sometimes. It’s the weirdest thing, but so far, it’s working. When I met Regina Scott I just knew I needed to review her books – I mean with a name so similar to mine, she just had to be awesome, right? Well, if historicals are your thing than you need to look her up!

After I read her book, we got together for a chat…

Regina, I absolutely adored your characters in The Rogue’s Reform! I was enthralled with the dissention between Adele and her mother. What about Adele did you admire most?

Thank you for the kind words! I admire Adele’s ability to move forward in the face of difficult circumstances. She was raised to expect a life of wealth and privilege, but when things turned out differently, she didn’t mope, she didn’t wring her hands. She picked herself (and her mother) up and went on, head high, making the best of things. I can only hope I’ll be that pragmatic when faced with adversity!

What was the most difficult part of writing this particular book for you?

Waiting. The three Everard men and their new cousin Samantha have been in my head for over 5 years. It never seemed the right time, the right venue for their stories to be told. I’m so thankful my editor at Love Inspired Historical encouraged me to give them a chance!

Can we expect to see more of the Everards? I mean, really, their personalities are so dynamic and fun I want to meet them!

Indeed you can! Captain Richard Everard, the second of the gentlemen, gets his own book in July 2012 (The Captain’s Courtship), and I am currently wrestling with the swashbuckling poet Vaughn Everard to finish the manuscript for his book (The Rake’s Redemption), which is scheduled to hit stores November 2012.

Review: The Scroll

Expect the worst. Hope for the best.

Three of the worlds top archaeologists are given offers they can’t refuse to drop everything they’re doing and join a new dig. A top secret dig.

The copper scrolls are mentioned but no firm facts are given. Not even at the kick-off meeting – where they meet the host and their security detail(?!?!?). In fact, the only thing the team is sure of is that they don’t trust each other and they can’t trust anyone else.

Can this team find what they’re looking for? Will it be artifacts? The God that is being questioned? The fiance who lost his faith? Or just more money than is imaginable?

Will they live long enough to see it?

Hott Review

Let me preface this by saying that I loved this book. Yet, I know it’s a book that not all will enjoy. Due to the very nature of the topic quite a lot of the first third of the book was devoted to setting. It was done in a fun and interesting way, but if you’re not interested you’re not going to love it. I loved it but could only process about a dozen pages at a time of that first third.

Throughout the book there were times that I couldn’t put the book down and others where I wanted to put it down but all in all, the hardest part for me? Reminding myself that it’s fiction…

Would the legality matter? Or, would the victims matter more?

Terrifying. Awesome. I couldn’t put it down. I completely devoured it on my flight across the country.

I have this love-hate relationship with this series. I always get so frustrated that I’m not spot no when I guess who the perpetrator will be… but I can’t wait to find out!

This book is not completely YA friendly. It would be but for a picturesque view of how kids online game sites are bring abused by perpetrators and pedophiles you need to grab a copy – this isn’t fiction!
