Amazing, is not it? In business, it communicates ... much.

The ability to clearly describe what you do, how it is different and why your prospects should buy from you is an essential part of any successful business. The smallest e-mail to the ad the more expensive each piece of communication is an opportunity to get an idea in mind of your client (AKA your "brand").

But are we really clear when we write our business communications? Do we need to accurately convey the points we are trying to do for our prospects and customers can "get" our message? Take these five common myths about business communications and test your CQ (Communication Quotient).

Myth # 1 - The more information I can cram the better.

Myth # 5 - I'll write in first person so it will not be boring.

Most of your readers have a question in their minds by reading your paper - "What's in it for me?" This means that using the word that you - not I (or we) word. Yes, there are times that a compelling narrative history can have an impact. But in general, business communications should be on the client - not you.

Take a piece of business communication and change "I" and "us" to "you" (also, change the verb tenses, etc.). Give both versions to a friend and ask them which is more convincing .

Hopefully now your job is a little lighter and your message a little clearer. By taking the time to crystallize a clear message and the conversation you engage your audience with your message. Friday, September 30, 2011, dozens of tourist buses were brought back to the sports hall of El Menzah hundreds of "militants" of the UPL from all regions of Tunisia, provided with invitations to their name. If you are like me when I started(laid off, home all day), treat it like a full time job. The work is going to pay off sooner or later. The problem is that most people are not used to working without getting paid. The great thing about your online business is that once you get it off the ground, you will get paid when you are not working. So keep in mind, that work you are doing for free now is going to pay you later.

A decent writing ability can give your online business that jump that it needs. If you don't have a lot of money for advertising this should be your first method of advertising your website. People love to read articles when they want to find out some information online, so this would be a good place to start. First you need to determine what your niche is and who is your target market. I am The Paid Gamer, my niche is video games and my target market is mature gamers and those who want to create online income. What is my product? I have a few products depending on what my visitors want. If the visitor simply wants video game hints, tips, or strategies, I offer video game hints, tips, or strategies. If the visitor wants to learn how I make money using the internet, then I offer to show them exactly how I do so. So now that I have figured out what my products/services are and exactly who I want to sell them to, I can write articles directed towards that particular group. You can't write five articles and expect a flood of traffic to your website. If you do not have the money for google adwords and other forms of paid advertisements, you should treat article writing like a part time job. Ok so you know what you are selling, and you know who your customers are. Now you have to think about what is valuable to this target market. Think about the little food court in the mall. How does the guy always get you to want to try their restaurant. They hand out free samples! Whether it's frozen yogurt or the bourbon chicken on a toothpick. People love to get free things. Now I can't just hand out anything for free. The freebie you are handing out must have some type of value. It should help the visitor or solve some type of problem. When marketing, I am constantly thinking of what can I give away for free that will provide some type of value. In the online gaming world everyone wants to be the best for bragging rights. Everyone wants to be in the winners circle. Hint and tips that most of the gaming community does not know are huge in video games. These strategies can give you the competitive edge over your opponent. Some people have strategies and hints so good that they can't give them away for free and charge very nicely for them. A buddy of mine runs a gaming website and offers 1 hour coaching games for $20. People that want to master this particular video game visit his website and pay him to play for one hour and learn from him. For example, I could have my website say something like, "free insider Halo 3 tips and strategies, place your name and email address in the form below." Then I will have their information and send them the free tips. Since I am giving them good information that provides value, the visitor now knows that the information that I am charging people to receive must be good. So if you are in network marketing, your target market is people who want to make money from home or buy your particular product. You should think of something that you could give away that would be valuable to them. My mentor actually gave me a free cd that revealed the same methods the top earners were using to make money online. Once I listened to this cd that revealed exactly what I needed to do to be a successful online marketer, I was willing to listen to anything he told me. After months of searching online for the perfect opportunity, I found out that it had nothing to do with the opportunity but with the methods I was using. So find something of value that you can give away to bring more traffic to your site.

Provide Good Service
* What is a service first attitude? This is basically the same attitude a good waiter or waitress has. You ever had a waitress that was perfect? Food was prompt, he or she was polite, you did not feel neglected. This waiter does not know if you are going to tip them well. They can give you perfect service and you can still leave a 50 cent tip. The same goes for your online business. People may get great value from your articles or whatever you are providing for free, and never actually become a paying customer. We all want to make money first when it comes to doing business online. You have to switch that attitude to serving others first. The money will follow soon enough.

Learn from someone who knows what they are doing
Find a mentor. First, what is a mentor? A mentor is defined as an influential senior sponsor or supporter. So you should find someone who is successful in whatever it is you are trying to do. If your goal is to be a successful internet marketer, you should be looking for a successful internet marketer. Once you find this person who is proven in your field you need to try to get all of the information that you can from them. When I initially decided that I wanted to start an online business it took me a while to find a mentor that I could relate to. Once I found a mentor that suited me I was able to schedule a free 1 hour phone consultation with him. During this hour I wrote down every nugget of valuable information that I could. At the end of the call he offered me a chance for a week long coaching session to get my business going even quicker. Unfortunately, I could not afford the price that he was asking but the phone consultation was more than enough to get me going in the right direction. Once I made enough money, I immediately called him up for that week long coaching session. A mentor can save you a lot of time and put you ahead of the learning curve which will get you towards your goals much quicker. Don't just look for someone who you think is making loads of money. Find someone that you know in your heart is genuine and is actually trying to help others.

Last but definitely not least you are going to need focus and commitment. I probably should have put this tip first on the list but oh well. 95 percent of home based business owners are failing when it comes to generating income online. The problem is they don't realize that time and effort are involved. All of the people who are successful now started off just like you and I. They started an online business as a way to change their lives and take control. Chances are they did not just put up a website and make tons of money overnight. People are enticed and lured by the chance of "getting rich" on "auto-pilot". Auto pilot does not come until you have established your presence online and have a system for driving traffic to your website. This is the main reason people fail at making money online. They give up before they have given themselves a chance to succeed. They don't perform the daily activities that it takes to be successful. They want a business to run on auto pilot from day one. You have to check the plane, then take off with the plane before you can hit the auto pilot switch. Imagine if pilots jumped right in the cockpit and expected the plane to get you to where you needed to go. Research whatever opportunity you decide to go with first. Once you are 100 percent behind your company or product you need to stick to it. Just because you don't make any money within two months from a network marketing company does not make it a scam. This does not make it a pyramid scheme. There are others who came in and made money within one month. What makes them different from you? The fact that they took daily action. If you want to make money from squidoo or article writing, stick to it. Focus you mind to becoming a writer and stay committed to it. Colonel Sanders was turned down over 100 times when he was trying to sell his chicken recipe. Thomas Edison was told that he was crazy when he kept failing at trying to make the light bulb. Keep that in mind when you feel like giving up at your online business.

Are you networking with the right people?

In 'The circles (no more strangers)' Seth Godin writes "It's so tempting to seek out more strangers." He makes the point that trying to reach strangers is expensive and you may very well upset your true fans. He uses an excellent graphic (shown to the right here) to illustrate his point that delighting and overwhelming your true fans is a better strategy than chasing after strangers.

Many business people and professionals give in to this temptation and concentrate their marketing efforts on strangers. Building word of mouth from the people they already know can be neglected and their behaviour in networking can be similar. Their networking is all about finding and connecting directly with the people they don't know.

The key to successful networking is to take the opposite view. Instead of looking for strangers it is about building strong relationships where you get to know, like, rate and trust each other. Instead of spending time with people you don't know try investing quality time in building the right relationships. I think it is worth repeating what I wrote last week in 'How Networking Really Works. A small number of people you get to know really really well can give you access to all the new people you want to meet.

Effective networking is about support and sharing knowledge and finding advocates who recommend and refer you. Good networking groups provide the environment for you to strengthen existing relationships & build new ones. It is much easier and more enjoyable to develop your business in an environment like that.

What is the right approach in business networking?

It can be tempting to only 'network' with others who do completely different things to you. People who provide different services or products and those from different professions. In fact some groups only allow for one member from each.

In reality it is often those that are more complementary to you that lead to more and quicker opportunities. The similarities mean you get to establish relationships more quickly and it is much easier to find referrals for each other without going out of your way. Even those groups that exclude members in the same line of business recommend joining other more open groups as part of your overall networking strategy.

In the UK a couple of days ago the new Government took their places in Parliament. For the first time in 70 years in the UK there is a coalition government. Whether it will be a success remains to be seen, but it would be refreshing to see a new politics. One that sees politicians working together for the good of the country rather than constantly doing each other down. If the two parties had looked to their differences it is very likely that we would be in a different situation now. By focusing on similarities they have made progress and have the potential to really change the way things work.

The lesson for us in networking is the many more possibilities that open up with an open and collaborative approach.

How business networking really works

There are some people you meet who seem to 'get' networking instinctively. People seem to gravitate to them with a regular stream of opportunities for them and their business. They don't engage in the face to face equivalent of cold calling They spend most of their time with a regular close group of associates and advocates and a lesser amount of time making new contacts. They are active as participants, leaders and advocates of their networking groups

.

They know that success from networking is about building relationships. Strengthening their existing ones and building appropriate new ones. They know that the best route to people they don't yet know is through an introduction or recommendation from someone they do.

It can be tempting to think that networking is about finding places and people you don't know. We can learn that is not from those who are successful through networking. As is often the case it's the counter intuitive approach that works. Network with the people you know to get to the ones you don't.

As Andy Lopata posted on Twitter yesterday "networking put simply is working with others to achieve more than we could achieve on our own.

Do business networks collaborate or compete?

"Avoid the competition" was a comment from Courtney Sperlazza in response to my post entitled What is the right approach in business networking? She went on to explain

:

"I don't mean to avoid your competitors. What I mean is, avoid the concept of competition. You can work collaboratively with anyone. Even if you're in similar industries, there is something the other guy can do that you can't do and vice versa. Some of us call those things opportunities!"

One of the first steps we encourage in our advocacy model to how business networking really works is to clarify your target market. This is not so you can sell to them at networking events. It is so you can work out who else deals with them and so who you should be networking with to create those opportunities for each other. Real networking is a collaborative activity where you get to build a sustainable route to market for the long term. As I have written before it is not the face to face equivalent of cold calling.

Imagine my surprise this morning when I received a note that said that someone could not attend a meeting of one of our groups because they were a member of a competing network!

Doesn't that miss the point of networks being places to collaborate?

The best example for the networks to set is to collaborate with other networks.

Last week I was with a group of Professionals and Small Business Owners in Birmingham learning more about Referral Marketing at the Referral Institute's UK & Ireland Conference. The theme of the day was about how you can dramatically increase your referred revenue. One topic covered by Trey McAlister was about understanding 'Contact Sphere Professionals'. These people are in a position to regularly refer each other
.

It is worth spending some time identifying this group for your business. Who else is often needed when you do business? What opportunities do you uncover as you go about your work? What other opportunities could you uncover as you go about your work?

This process of identifying them also gives you an idea of the opportunities you have for referring and building your inner network. As you do this for them you are demonstrating how they can do the same for you and others. You are advocating them and providing the motivation for them to do it for you.

You really can get all the business you need through a close knit group of like minded business owners like this. That is provided you are all committed to the success of each other and are all in a position to regularly provide opportunities to each other. You need to meet regularly to strengthen your relationships and exchange opportunities. Why not find a convenient networking group that you can do this in?

You are also adding value to your client relationships by showing them you have their success at heart and not just your own.

Your customers need to be sure that you not only know what you sell, but use the same products for the rest of your life.

The second rule - believe in yourself and what you sell.

Make sure you have a plan, and you should follow it. Even if you have a few customers, you need to move forward and not give up. Over time, you will be a lot of loyal customers, they will bring success. You must work very hard. Good results will be achieved. Read the history of well-known and successful companies all have gone through the tests and failures, and you must also do so. As time passes and you will succeed.

Did you watch a last movie a last movie about James Bond? An excellent movie! Do you like James Bond’s car – Aston Martin. Would you like this car? Google Hiring Over 2,000 Globally

Google Inc plans to hire more than 2,000 people around the globe, bumping up its workforce as it expands into new markets and battles for talent with faster-growing rivals.

The world's largest Internet search engine, whose finance chief told investors in September that the Internet industry was waging a "war for talent," has job openings listed for 2,076 positions on its website, according to a Reuters tally on Thursday.

The number of job openings is up nearly six-fold from a similar tally of job listings page conducted in March 2009.

The hiring spree is taking place alongside a string of more than 20 acquisitions this year that have already helped swell Google's ranks to more than 23,300 employees at the end of September, up nearly 18 percent since the beginning of the year.

"We've been ramping up our hiring and the number of open jobs over the course of the last year," Google spokesman Jordan Newman said.

He would not comment on the exact number of openings, but said the jobs listings Web page was completely up to date and is monitored very carefully.

Google, which controls about two-thirds of the global Internet search market, is looking for new opportunities to grow by branching out into a variety of markets, including Android smartphone software, online display advertising and Web-based productivity software.

Those fledgling forays come as it fends off social networking giant Facebook, which is challenging Google for online advertising dollars and for engineering talent, as well as iPhone maker Apple Inc in the mobile market.

This month, Google internally announced plans to give all of its employees a 10 percent raise in 2011, according to media reports, a move that many in the industry interpreted as an attempt to retain its best workers.

Google's current job openings are primarily for engineers and sales staffers, with roughly half of them in the United States. Some of the jobs were listed as temporary, but most appeared to be full-time positions.

The job listings provide a window into the breadth of its vast operations across the globe, with openings for everything from a University Program Specialist in Senegal to a Building Ambassador at Google's headquarters in Mountain View, California.

The company, which has also faced increasing regulatory scrutiny in recent years, has more than 50 legal job openings around the globe.

And it lists more than 50 open positions in China, including an Events Manager tasked with raising "awareness and usage" of Google products in the country, as well as a half-dozen recruiters.

That expansion comes about a year after Google relocated its Web search engine to Hong Kong, following a very public spat with the Chinese government over its refusal to bow to Beijing's Web censorship

Wikileaks' Visa Payments Suspended

Visa is the latest company to cut its links with Wikileaks, following online payment firm PayPal. It cut off the account used to collect donations, saying the website is engaged in illegal activity.

Wikileaks relies on online donations to fund its operations, which will now not be possible using Visa cards.

A spokeswoman for Visa Europe said its investigation would determine the nature of Wikileaks' business, and "whether it contravenes Visa operating rules".

Visa Europe could not suspend payments to Wikileaks immediately, and that the process took a certain amount of time, she was quoted as saying by BBC.

Meanwhile, Mastercard said in its statement that it was "in the process of working to suspend the acceptance of Mastercard cards on Wikileaks until the situation is resolved".

The announcements also came as WikiLeaks is struggling to keep its website accessible after service providers such as Amazon dropped contracts, and governments and hackers continued to hound the organisation.

Wikileaks' founder Julian Assange was arrested by police in London Tuesday.

Assange, whose website has published secret documents, is wanted in Sweden on sexual assault allegations.

Swiss authorities closed Assange's new Swiss bank account Monday.

WikiLeaks also is under legal pressure in several countries, including the US.
