Are you having a hard time thinking of how to declutter your house? This article will help you to have a step by step idea on how to make your house clean and worth staying. Furthermore, staying in a house with too many clutters will not provide you with a relaxing feeling. It will just make your eyes sore and always make you feel burdened all the time. With this, the following clutter cleaning tips will guide you.

The first clutter cleaning tip is to establish your own plans. Look at your house and decide where to begin cleaning. You can start with the small rooms with less clutter or start with areas with many clutters. After this, decide what to let go, give or throw. This is the best way to achieve your goals in decluttering.

One of the problems why clutters are piling up is because when changing some things, you do not dispose what you have replaced. With the changing times, your fashion statement also changes. Technology also changes as well as growth is rapid. Thus, you will have a lot of things to dispose to declutter your house.

If you want to have a gradual decluttering activity in your house, start picking up small clutters that you see inside the house. Take some things that don’t belong in the area or start throwing things that are useless. Such step will help you to gradually lessen your effort to declutter.

Furthermore, the next decluttering tip is to declutter your closet and drawers. When you are done, you can begin cleaning the rooms which will give you lots of time and effort to spend. From a small part to big areas, you will have a momentum and gradually achieving victories.

Another important thing when you declutter your house is to provide a proper place for the things that you will be keeping. You can add a drawer or closet where you can place other things which you think can still be useful to you or for your family. Have a place for everything so that everything will be in a right place.

When sorting your things out, especially when you start keeping some of your old stuffs, place in a different pile the things that you will be giving, donating and to be thrown. The purpose of this is to have an easy way to dispose your things and can keep it right away in boxes or bags.

Decluttering your home needs time. You have to plan things well so that you will have a smooth process of clutter cleaning your house.

As the holidays approach, many of us will be hosting family and friends – and nothing inspires a person to give their home a thorough clean than knowing guests will be arriving soon. Before you grab the usual store bought, commercial cleaner, remember that many of them contain harmful chemicals such as phthalates, alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs) and ethanolamine, which have been linked to asthma attacks, reproductive harm and other issues that hurt humans, pets and the environment.

Instead, opt to green clean your home with common, everyday non-toxic products that are safer for you, your family and the environment. An added benefit is that you’ll save money too. Ounce for ounce, homemade cleaners cost about one-tenth the price of their commercial equivalent, and generally last longer.

What You Need – and Probably Already Have

Many of the ingredients you need to make safe, non-toxic green cleaners are common items that are probably already in your kitchen cabinets. Here are some well-known non-toxic ingredients and what they’re useful for.

Baking soda: Also known as bicarbonate of soda, baking soda is an all-purpose cleaner with many household uses, including cleaning and scouring countertops and other kitchen surfaces, removing grease spills and oven stains and taking scuff marks off of floors. Leave some baking soda in an open container in the refrigerator to absorb odors, and sprinkle some in the bottom of garbage pails as an air freshener.

Borax: Technically called sodium borate, this naturally occurring mineral is a useful disinfectant, deodorizer, fungicide, preservative, insecticide, herbicide, disinfectant and dessicant (moisture absorber). It’s uses include cleaning walls, floors and wallpaper and enhancing laundry detergent.

Cornstarch: A great deodorizer, use it to clean carpets and rugs. Also to clean windows, polish silver, take up grease stains on fabric and leather and iron clothes nice and crisp.

Lemon juice: Use it to remove grease stains on aluminum and porcelain.

Pure soap: You don’t need all the added fragrances and chemicals. Pure soap cleans most everything and is mild on skin.

Tea tree oil: Tea Tree oil is an essential oil that has many antiseptic, germicidal, antifungal, antibacterial and immune-boosting qualities, including deodorizing and killing mold and mildew.

Washing soda: Sodium carbonate decahydrate is another naturally occurring mineral useful for cutting grease and removing stains. Use it to clean and disinfect walls, tiles, sinks and tubs. Don’t use on aluminum and keep away from eyes, nose and mouth, as washing soda has been known to irritate mucous membranes.

White vinegar: An excellent whitener, use white vinegar to clean window, metals and other hard surfaces, and to remove grease, mildew and wax buildup.

Cleaning

I love having people in over the holidays! But that means my house must be clean and, of course, I’ll want to decorate. If I wait until the last minute, though, I’m stressed! Here are a few thoughts to help you avoid that stress:

- Determine cleaning chores that need to be done for the holidays. Parcel out chores over the weeks remaining before Christmas, starting with the ones that are long-lasting: cleaning the silver or the carpet, decluttering, etc. Save the surface cleaning until closer to your events. Or, if you haven’t cleaned for a while, just get caught up on your surface cleaning and do it every week.

- If your list of chores seems too overwhelming, work on them in 15-minute segments and do them 2-4 times a day. If they are still too overwhelming, eliminate some! Enlist family/house members to help with the cleaning chores.

- This is not a time for purchasing new furniture, major home repair, sewing projects or painting!

Decorating

- If you have a lot of decorating to do, prioritize your list and schedule the individual items on your list.

- As you decorate, remove your regular decorating accessories and put them in the boxes from which you took your Christmas decorating items. That way, you won’t have to remember where you put them. I have a friend who couldn’t find her regular decorating items for a couple of months after the holidays one year!

- Take this opportunity to purge any decorating items or holiday items you no longer need or want. A great time to declutter! By doing this, the number of boxes you must get out every year decreases.

- Make holiday decorating a family affair, using items that have sentimental value to family members. Warm up some apple cider and put on some music!

- When you put your Christmas items away, make a list of what you have – decorating items, wrapping supplies, paper products, cards, extra gift items, dishes, etc., so you don’t duplicate them. Also make a list of items you need to purchase for next year and pick them up during the sales, if possible. This is a great time of year to get holiday storage boxes at a reduced price.

What a festive time of year! If you can parcel out your cleaning chores and get a jump on your decorating, you’ll have time to enjoy your clean and beautiful home for several weeks!
