To celebrate World Ocean Day, House of Gharats is diving deep into an innovative fibre which could revolutionise the materials we wear and how they affect our skin. We are working with sustainable fibre company SmartFibreAG for our new Blue Fashion Scarf and Sleep Collection. Our silk, powered by their new SeaCell^TM fibre, is created using sustainably harvested seaweed.

At House of Gharats, we recognise the fundamental importance of water for the world. Our skin, brain and heart contain over 60% water each. Similarly, over 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered by water, making it a key part of our ecosystem. Our oceans provide a home for millions of species of underwater wildlife which are essential for building a healthy and safe world, both on land and underwater. In our new collection, our goal is to actively contribute towards the development of the Blue Economy, a movement which promotes the protection of our oceans and its resources, in order to create a more sustainable world.

We Are Water

Ocean plants are a vitally important global resource as they have healing powers for both humans and the Earth. Seaweed produces the majority of the oxygen in Earth’s atmosphere and can help us fight against environmental issues, such as rising sea levels and global warming. The ocean cultivates a unique agricultural environment which enriches these plants with essential elements and minerals, giving seaweed immense nutritional value which can improve our health and wellness.

Like the Earth, our skin, brain and heart are predominantly made up of water. House of Gharats believes that our bodies need to be treated with the same care as our marine ecosystems, in order to protect the ocean inside of us. A marine resource which can help us do that is seaweed. As a nutritious skin care ingredient, its unique blend of vitamins can help activate cell regeneration, relieve skin diseases, reduce inflammation and soothe itchiness. Seaweed possesses unique healing powers for both us and the ocean, building a connection between our bodies and nature.

We Are The Future 

We need innovative fibres, such as those created by SmartFibreAG, to combat the environmentally detrimental impact of fast fashion on oceans. The fashion industry has become obsessed with replicating trends and using low quality materials in order make their products cheaper. These materials are made up of plastic microfibers which pollute and clog up our oceans, killing millions of marine plants and animals every year.

SmartFibreAG offers a more environmentally friendly method of production and is an important example of sustainable aquaculture. For our new collection, we are using their newly developed material SeaCell^TM, made from sustainably sourced seaweed and wood. Harvested in the cold and pure fjords of Iceland, crops are gently harvested from naturally grown, regenerative seaweed fields. When the seaweed is collected, it is carefully dried, crushed and ground so that the beneficial properties of the seaweed are permanently preserved in the fibre.

House of Gharats is creating the Blue Fashion Scarf and Sleepwear Collection with wellness and sustainability at the heart of the project. The collection, consisting of regenerative silk scarves and sleep wear, harnesses the unique health qualities of seaweed. The natural moisture levels of our skin enables us to absorb its beneficial substances, creating a feeling of relaxation and wellness. Throughout our projects, we are seeking to unite luxury with sustainability in order to change the current fashion landscape and promote a lifestyle centred around the mind and the body.

Not only does it hold everything in, but it plays a crucial role in providing an airtight, flexible barrier between the outside world and the highly regulated systems within the body. With International Women’s Day just around the corner, we wanted to share with you the stories and achievements of inspirational #WomenInAquaculture. From female empowerment to sustainability, these ladies are well and truly leading the way. With the House of Gharats’ new ‘Blue Fashion Silk Scarf Collection’ created from a sustainably farmed seaweed, it seemed only fitting for us to focus on seaweed farming and the role women play in the process.

The power of women in aquaculture

An overwhelming 70% of all aquaculture workers are female. These women are decision makers, collectors, scientists, traders and agents of change but still the vital part they play  within the fishing and aquaculture industry is being overlooked. 

 Why? Simply put, women are fighting a hard and long fought battle against socio-cultural taboos and gender biased data which has removed them for the narrative. This needs to change, and it needs to change now. 

Inequality in aquaculture stretches the length of the globe. From Asia and Africa to Europe, women continue to fight against cultural stereotypes, they fight for financial stability, for representation in decision making bodies and to become a visible part of the fishing industry. 

Seaweed farming & female empowerment  

Now that’s not a pairing you see every day. I know what you’re thinking, what does seaweed farming have to do with female empowerment. Just stick with us and all will become clear!

Across the coast of Asia and Africa it’s not unusual to see miles of seaweed farms stretching as far as the eye can see, but what is unusual is the people working on these farms. The majority are women. Not only that, they are entrepreneurs, they are change makers and they have been instrumental in shifting the gender power balance in aquaculture. Now that’s girl power.

Along the coast of Tamil Nadu, women have been harvesting seaweeds for decades. Everyday these women brave the odds to provide for their families. Instead of wet suits and oxygen tanks they dive into the depths of the ocean in nothing but their sarees, a mask and rubber shoes.

For many women seaweed farming has transformed their lives. In Zanzibar women are working together to provide a sustainable livelihood for their families. Social norms are changing, the gender balance is shifting and women are no longer restricted for simply being a woman.

Looking to the future

Once again women have been thrown onto the front line in the battle against climate change. It’s up to them to adapt, develop and drive change – and that is exactly what they are doing. 

The rising ocean temperatures are killing seaweed, but these women are not going down without a fight. By working with researchers and scientists, local women are growing seaweed species which are able to survive in higher temperatures. Women are taking conservation into their own hands and winning. Their spirit, determination and power is contagious! 

From sea to skin

At the House of Gharats female empowerment works hand in hand with sustainability. Working in collaboration with the Commonwealth Blue Charter initiative and Commonwealth Fashion Council we created the ‘Blue Fashion Silk Scarf Collection’ using ‘Seacell™ ’, a fibre made using sustainably farmed seaweed. It is our hope that sustainable seaweed farming continues to grow, this fibre has the potential to become an important resource not only for fashion but for the livelihoods of women across the world.

Women are adapting and with them we are changing the way the world views fashion. We are on a mission to change the world, one scarf at a time.

Art as a Tool for Ocean Conservation

Our Oceans are in Crisis, as the United Nations declared the decade of the Ocean to help fight pollution and promote the harvesting of the ocean resource sustainably. Many people around the world are doing their part to save our oceans, including contemporary artists. Harvesting the power of Art and Design to support ocean conservation. Through their art, they showcase the beauty of the ocean, as well as the devastating effects humans have had  on the ocean. From textile art and ceramics to painting and paper sculptures, art in all forms is used to save our oceans. We at House Of Gharats have used the medium of Art and live installation to do our part.  

House Of Gharats collaborated with the Commonwealth Fashion Council, to help build a Blue Economy through our ocean-friendly and sustainable collection; “Blue Fashion Silk Scarf Collection”, under the Blue Carter principles. The collection uses sustainably farmed, biodegradable material made from seaweed. To expand on our Blue Fashion mission, Neishaa Gharat, the Founder-Creative Director, created the Wishing Net installation at the Super Super Super event on 16 of September 2019 during London Fashion Week to invite wishes from fashion industry influencers and stakeholders. The live installation was inspired by the amazing work done by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as we invited the public to cast their wishes for the ocean. Neishaa Gharat aims to foster emotional connections to and drive positive action for our ocean through art and engagement.

The Super Super Super, cofounded by Sam Magee, Zoe Lem & Becky Mullins, is a platform for change and collaboration within the fashion industry. They are passionate about sustainability, diversity, global connections, storytelling and not afraid to strategically disrupt by asking big questions that create conversations, connections and awareness for brands and creatives. Which makes a perfect match for us at House of Gharats, as we aim to change the world one scarf at a time, whilst working towards our mission of to being As Sustainable As Possible, As Soon As Possible.  

Our oceans are under threat due to plastic pollution. Each year, at least 8 million tonnes of plastics leak into the ocean, which is equivalent to dumping the contents of one garbage truck into the ocean every minute. If no action is taken, this is expected to increase to two per minute by 2030 and four per minute by 2050¹. Working under the 14th goal; “Life below water” from the UN sustainable development goals, we wanted to battle plastic pollution in the best way we can; by raising awareness about it. 

The Wishing Net: Million Wishes for Our Oceans

The installation was created by upcycling an old fishing net and inviting the public to voice their anxieties and wishes for the future of the oceans. Vistors at the Super Super Super event were asked to write their wish for the oceans and tie them to our wishing net. The wishes cards were made from upcycled paper, which was cut into marine shapes, as we interacted with fashion influencers and Fashionistas. The public was keen to interact with the installation and share their concerns. People were passionate about keeping the plastic out of our oceans and protecting the diverse marine life. 

“I wish for our Oceans to be plastic-free one day!”

We are reflecting on material culture and its impact amidst the Extinction Rebellion protests in London and across the United Kingdom.

Groups of activists such as The Red Brigade who advocated against the endangerment of all animals that we share the planet with, tying in with the sea creature crisis whereby hundreds of harmless sea-life get caught in our waste. Famous names such as Jason Momoa joined the fight to protect the oceans.

Other protest groups such as the Animal Rebellion tied themselves to the gates of Billingsgate, the largest inland fish market in an attempt to protect Sea-Life.

Fashion’s contribution?

There’s no doubt that fashion is one of the biggest contributions for the state of today’s oceans. Fast fashion in particular, overuse synthetic fabrics which pollute the oceans…it’s predicted by 2050, 22 million tons of microfibres will end up as ocean pollution. At House Of Gharats we have embarked on a journey to ensure that we design and produce mindfully because we sustainability is long journey with good intentions at heart.

Mary Creagh MP, Wakefield representative since 2005, leads the environmental audit committee. She describes the current tragedy as; “Producing clothes requires toxic chemicals and produces climate-changing emissions. Every time we put on a wash, thousands of plastic fibres wash down the drain and into the oceans. We don’t know where or how to recycle end of life clothing. Our inquiry will begin to investigate how the fashion industry can remodel itself to be both thriving and sustainable.”

Fast fashion is an obvious factor that is held accountable for ocean pollution, and as Mary described, every time you wash your favourite garment, thousands of plastic fibres invade our ocean. Nylon is a popular fabric in the fashion industry, also a form of plastic. These are made in huge quantities to meet customer demand, and this leads to repeat custom – which is what businesses want, but is it what the environment needs? 

Rather than ranting about the challenges we are currently facing,  read on to find out about how we can create and partake in solutions, and dive into the House Of Gharats very own contribution: Our Blue Fashion Silk Scarf. 

A Sea Change In Sustainable Material Culture

Across the fashion industry, many fashion & lifestyle brands are introducing sustainable collections & collaborations. A popular fabric amongst the high street retailers is ‘BIONIC’; made out of plastic waste recovered from shorelines worldwide…meanwhile, an upcycling approach is also another popular option. Fashion has discovered natural resources rather than something processed and wasteful.

What is BIONIC?

Bionic is a material that is made out of recovered plastic from the ocean and coastal environments. It can be used to create more durable materials. Many fashion brands have started to use this for products such as trainers and sportswear. Pharell Williams is a notable advocate for this material, founding his own company which provides the materials to fashion and other brands.

What about ECONYL?

Econyl is a fabric made out of regenerated nylon; fishing nets are collected from the sea, and they can then be recycled into clothing, driving the industry into a more sustainable future. This is specifically popular with fashion brands as they still get the same nylon as if it was brand new, enabling them to align with a fast fashion approach. You can find Econyl in stylish accessories, clothing and even designer handbags. 

Creating value from ocean waste

Upcycling, not to be confused with recycling, is using discarded waste and turning it into something of more value; this can be something that is turned into something that’s deemed as very high end, essentially creating something of a higher value. The growing tribe of conscious customers won’t buy from a brand who exploits its workers or uses fabric which becomes lethal to our oceans and the creatures that call it home. 

For example, founded by Kenyan entrepreneur Newton Owino, fish-skin is a new alternative to traditional sources of leather. The idea of using this is emphasising the fact that especially in the fashion industry, we should try to put waste reduction at the forefront of our businesses. Fish-skin would normally be discarded or sold for a very low price, so why waste it when we can take a more resourceful approach? 

A new radical approach to sourcing materials 

Other examples include organisations that have surfaced amongst the rise of sustainability in fashion include Norway’s Nofir, who recycle discarded fishing equipment and turn it into clothing, as well as furniture and carpets for retailers across Europe. On one occasion, they contributed to making ‘Brace-nets’ a small bracelet made from discarded fishing nets in partnership with the company ‘BRACENET’. Not only do they reduce the amount of fishing nets in the seas which are lethal to the residents of the sea, but it gives us something in return.

House of Gharats collaborated with the Commonwealth Blue Charter initiative and Commonwealth Fashion Council to create ‘Blue Fashion Silk Scarf Collection’ using ‘SeaCell’ silk fabric.

The Commonwealth Blue Charter was a landmark document launched at CHOGM 2018 where all 53 Commonwealth countries galvanised their support for ocean action. Progress under the Blue Charter is being carried out through member-led Action Groups on issues from ocean acidification to coral and mangrove restoration, and from marine plastics to the blue economy.

But what is SeaCell ? SeaCell is a fibre which is made out of sustainably farmed seaweed sourced from the depths of our oceans. Yes, you read right. Seaweed! SeaCells’ silk fabric has an antioxidant property which makes it innovative due to its many minerals enabling it to care for your skin while it is biodegradable.

We created a collection inspired by the oceans and the many creatures that call it home. We wanted to ensure that it was made with love, care and creativity aligning with the values at the very core of our brand; culture, art and sustainability. This was evident through the art of the ocean that inspired the designs, to the production, and lastly the amazing fabric that is seacell.

This fashionably naughty sheep celebrates the lead up to 250 years of Jarrold in 2020. Jarrold was founded in Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1770. Today Jarrold is based in Norwich and is regarded as the region’s favourite independent department store and is one of the most renowned landmarks in Norfolk. This sculpture will inspire the people of Suffolk & Norfolk to share & knot their memories of Jarrold on to the sheep, through an interactive scarf styling & memory sharing workshop and through online engagement.

Collaborating with The Blossom Charity

We are excited to share an artful collaboration with the Blossom Charity in creating Knotty Ewe! Keeping with House of Gharats love of creating fashion and lifestyle designs for an artful life through beautiful stories. The premise of the creative inspiration is to knot treasured memories that span many generations linked with Jarrold. This sculpture will inspire the people of Suffolk, Norfolk and people from all over the world linked to the history of Jarrold through their own experiences or their families past and present to engage and add to the design through an interactive workshop at Jarrold and Dream On Suffolk and through online engagement.

The story began when Neishaa Gharat, Founder-Designer of House of Gharats and Bridget McIntyre, Founder of The Blossom Charity, met and shared the stage at the Global Thinkers Forum, Athena40 event in London. The event was hosted by the Evening Standard, on International Women’s Day 2019. Neishaa Gharat describes her first interaction with Bridget McIntyre as “inspiration at first sight”. The Blossom Charity is based in Suffolk and aims to inspire and increase confidence in women and young people in East Anglia through coaching, mentoring, makeovers and style consultancy.

Neishaa Gharat was invited to create 2 sheep sculptures, one of which she designed being inspired by the 250 year history and stories of Jarrold an independent family run department store. Neishaa’s wonderful team at House Of Gharats shared her enthusiasm and chipped in helping her bring her vision to life enjoying wonderful team spirit.  Curious about the second sheep? Under the wool

The Knotty ewe! design is focused on the premise of memory making. Neishaa Gharat wanted to design a sheep that collects and knots the memories of generations of families who have visited and worked at the fabled Jarrold department store founded in Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1770. This brings us to the name of the sheep sculpture, Knotty Ewe. ‘Knotty’ describes both the fun and the interactive aspect of the sheep sculpture, Neishaa Gharat seeks weird and wonderful stories that are linked with Jarrold over the last 250 years, for example, many people have special memories of Jarrold – from dropping pennies into the fountain that used to be in the third floor restaurant, to meeting celebrities such as Stephen Fry and Tanya Burr at a book signing.

These stories are shared through a workshop and online engagement. Each piece of story will be knotted to the sheep, hence the ‘Knotty Ewe’. Importantly, ‘Knotty’ is a signature pun that we use at House of Gharats, to describe our 50 knotty ways to tie a scarf. 

Stories are ingrained into the DNA of House of Gharats and our Founder-Designer, Neishaa Gharat. She has set herself on a mission to change the world one scarf at a time. Her hunger to hear rich and underrepresented stories and share them with the world, has set her on a journey to design her scarves as story-tellers that can be passed down through generations.

Neishaa believes memories are as important as our existence 

We at House of Gharats believe that reminiscing on memories is as effective in bringing you backwards in time as it brings you forward. When we spend time remembering our past experiences, observations, emotions, we then revoke our identity which ultimately shapes our future thoughts and actions. 

Put it this way, have you ever done a big cleaning around your house and then stumbled upon an old storage box and in the spirit of procrastination, you spend a few hours going through that box? I’m sure a lot of you can relate to this as it’s hard to resist glancing at memories through photographs, videos, letters and birthday cards. We believe reminiscing can be one of life’s true, unpredictable and thrilling delights. It can show you how far you have come in life and how much you have or haven’t changed. Therefore, to understand the future and present, you need to go back in time. 

History of Jarrold

It all began 250 years ago, in the year 1770, in Woolbridge, Suffolk, by John Jarrold. The company then moved to Norwich in 1823 under the leadership of John Jarrold II and has developed to be, probably, the largest and longest standing privately owned business in the city.

The involvement of the founding family continues with three members of the seventh generation of the Jarrold family working within the company. From its roots as a grocer and draper, for many years its core businesses were printing, retailing and publishing, with a growing interest in the development of its property assets from the 1990s onwards. Since 2005 the business has concentrated on its retail activities and the development of its property assets whilst growing its business services activities through its training and facilities management operations.

Since its creation, it has been beloved and has been an integral part of the community – sharing fond memories of Jarrold and looking after the wellbeing of the county through its support of charity work in the community.

The Knotty Ewe was inspired by the 250-year history and stories of Jarrold, an independent family-run department store that was found in Woodbridge, Suffolk and is now based in Norwich, Norfolk. Knotty Ewe sculpture will inspire the people of Suffolk & Norfolk to share & knot their memories of the fabled Jarrold department stores on to the sheep, through an interactive scarf styling & memory sharing workshop and online engagement.

The Eye Sheep Art Trail

Between 18th July and 6th September the market town of Eye is home to a flock of very unusual sheep! 24 beautifully painted sheep can be found at various locations around the town, just waiting to be admired for their colourful fleeces!  These sheep celebrate Eye’s historic connection with the wool trade and have been installed by The Blossom Charity, who are based in the town, share a bit of summertime fun with the local community and raise awareness of what they do. 

You can follow the sheep art trail, by picking up a map from a number of locations in the town (including Dream on, the Eye Library, Homestart, East of England and Central England Co ops) or by visiting the sheep trail website. The Charity Sheep Auction

On 12th September The Blossom Charity will host an auction of art, to sell each of the sheep from the art trail to raise money for the charity.

This event, kindly sponsored by Imaginative Traveller, is to be held at 7pm, at Kenton Hall in Suffolk. The auction promises to be a fun and interesting event, with a chance to meet some of the sponsors and artists at a drinks reception before the serious business of selling of the unique sheep art to the highest bidder! Anyone interested in acquiring a beautifully painted sheep as a piece of art for their business, their home or garden, or just as a talking point are very welcome to attend and sealed or telephone bids will be accepted. We are excited to share an artful collaboration with the Blossom Charity in creating Prosper Ewe! Keeping with House of Gharats love of creating fashion and lifestyle designs for an artful life. The premise of Neishaa’s creative inspiration for her sheep sculpture for the art trail is wishing prosperity for Suffolk. The story of this sheep sculpture interweaves the prosperity and vibrant culture of Suffolk, once brought by the wool trade to its present and future businesses.  This sculpture will inspire the people of Suffolk to engage and add to the design through an interactive workshop at the new Eye Library and through online engagement.

The highlight of placemaking is understanding whether the public has an agency to instigate placemaking or take stewardship role in private spaces as they might in public spaces. 

One interesting view into placemaking is to gather a wide range of viewpoints from the public into placemaking, this helps to understand what is already great about a place, creates more interesting places, taps into funding and investment opportunities, empowers communities and fosters civic pride.

History of the wool trade 

Past 

• Dawn of Wool : Wool as a raw material is available since the domestication of sheep. 
• 12th Century : Wool was the most important asset in European trade – England major exporter of raw wool -peasants deal with travelling wool merchants.
• 1133: The Worshipful Company of Weavers is formed.
• 1133: Wool becomes the principal source of wealth in Medieval England – Anyone  who owned land would raise sheep – Landowners developed direct links with cloth manufacturers abroad.
• 1337 – 1453: Hundred Year War – King Henry III & King Edward I heavily taxed wool to pay for the wars – Flemish weavers fleeing the war and French rule to settle in Norfolk and Suffolk – Switch to raw wool exportation to weaved wool cloth
• 1450 – 1530: Weaved wool trade becomes stronger & richer – Lords, abbots & bishops start to count wealth in terms of sheep. In addition, Suffolk nobility used their influence to acquire freedom of tolls for local cloth merchants. This enabled cloth merchants to freely trade around the country and inevitably increased their wealth.
• Birth of the Wool Towns: construction of beautiful churches and houses to display wealth – Ipswich is the main port of trade to Antwerp and Genoa – Flemish and Italian merchants frequent English market.
• Birth of the Wool Towns: THE CHURCH OF ST PETER & ST PAUL · EYE It dates from the 15th century when East Anglia was at the height of its prosperity from the wool trade. It was built by wealthy merchants and landowners.
• Birth of the Wool Towns: IPSWICH: The main port of trade to Antwerp and Genoa, bringing prosperity across the waters.
• Birth of the Wool Towns: Nearly every house in the so-called ‘wool towns and villages’ were either trading or making wool cloth. As their wealth increased, so did the size of their houses. In fact, merchants built fine houses and grand guildhalls.

• Preserving towns and villages: One of the most remarkable legacies of the wool towns and villages is that it took centuries for these settlements to recover from the industry’s crash. Therefore, for years, residents could not afford to rebuild or modernise the buildings, thus preserving the towns in their medieval state. 
• Weaver, Dyer or Fuller: The wool trade has left a legacy after the industry crash in Suffolk. There are many local surnames linked with the industry, for example, Weaver, Dyer or Fuller, the chances are your ancestors were in the business. In addition, expressions like ‘on tenterhooks’ ‘pulling the wool over someone’s eyes’ or ‘dyed in the wool’ also originate from the wool trade.

How Suffolk will progress as a county in the future? We learnt from the information from The State of Suffolk 2019 report which includes data from across the county, and it anticipates areas which are likely to be key concerns in the future. 

Rethink their infrastructure to ensure the long term viability of Suffolk. To solve some of these issues, Suffolk has said this “ we need bold and brave solutions to meet the huge challenges facing us as a county.”, “We need to solve the problems created by an ageing population; of rapidly increasing demand for SEND [special educational needs and disabilities] provision; we need to create high skills, high wage jobs fit for the future” and “In the first instance much more must be done to develop and support Suffolk’s wonderful assets like our famous food and drink produce, a world-leading energy sector and popular tourist destinations.”  The county aims to solve these issues by 2050.

Prosper Ewe! is housed in the brand new Eye Library.

Library manager Julie Shepherd said: “Everyone’s very excited about our new library including staff and our regular customers. Hopefully everyone will come along and take a look at the new library and what we have to offer, particularly anyone who may not have visited the library for a while, everyone is always welcome.”

Architectural designer Katherine Williams said: “The use of colour showcases a modern, vibrant facility to form a focal point for Eye, rejuvenating Cross Street by making use of a site occupied by an unattractive, dilapidated office building. The vaulted ceiling in the internal library area, creates a light and inviting space which offers itself to becoming flexible as a resource centre to the benefit of Eye and the wider community.”

Tony Brown, chair of Suffolk Libraries said: “It’s hugely positive to be able to open a new library. It’s been a great team effort to deliver a modern facility that will provide a better library environment and experience for everyone in the local community.”

The modern design of the new library, which was designed and overseen by Concertus Design & Property Consultants, offers a striking new addition to Cross Street.

The Eye Sheep Art Trail

Between 18th July and 6th September, the market town of Eye is home to a flock of very unusual sheep! Over 30 beautifully painted sheep can be found at various locations around the town, just waiting to be admired for their colourful fleeces! These sheep celebrate Eye’s historic connection with the wool trade and have been installed by The Blossom Charity, who is based in the town, share a bit of summertime fun with the local community and raise awareness of what they do. 

You can follow the sheep art trail, by picking up a map from a number of locations in the town (including Dream on, the Library, Homestart, East of England and Central England Co-ops) or by visiting the sheep trail website . Don’t forget to share your experience and photos of what you found on social media, using the hashtag #eyesheeparttrail 

The Charity Sheep Auction

On 12th September The Blossom Charity will host an auction to sell each of the sheep from the art trail to raise money for the charity.

This event, kindly sponsored by Imaginative Traveller, is to be held at 7 pm, at Kenton Hall in Suffolk. The auction promises to be a fun and interesting event, with a chance to meet some of the sponsors and artists at a drinks reception before the serious business of selling off the unique sheep art to the highest bidder! Anyone interested in acquiring a beautifully painted sheep as a piece of art for their business, their home or garden, or just as a talking point is very welcome to attend and sealed or telephone bids will be accepted. The sheep to be auctioned can be viewed here and this website includes details of how you can buy a ticket to attend the charity auction.
