<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><div>Houston Photobloggers started in June 2005.  Back then the photoblogging network was really taking off as people moved to the web to share their photography and to find like minded people.  Fast forward four years.  There has been an explosion in not only ways to share photography, but ways to network.  Flickr, Twitter, Facebook, personal gallery spaces and of course photoblogging are all common for the connected photographer.  Time marches on and times change and so it is with Houston Photobloggers. The site will remain up, but new content will no longer be posted and new members will not be added.  The Houston Photobloggers Flickr group (<a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/houstonphotobloggers/">http://www.flickr.com/groups/houstonphotobloggers/</a>) will continue and membership in that group will still be restricted to people with active photoblogs. If you are one of our Texas photobloggers listed on the roll you are welcome to join us. </div><br /><div>So what now?  For me my focus will turn to Assignment: Houston.  This has been a very active group running on Flickr and it now has a companion site on the web (<a href="http://www.assignmenthouston.com">http://www.assignmenthouston.com</a>). Some of the same content that was being posted on Houston Photobloggers will move to the Assignment: Houston website including Linkposts, Weekly Planners and Spotlights.  I hope it will become a resource for anyone that likes to get out into the city with their camera.  Please bookmark the site, add it to your RSS readers and blogrolls and most importantly I hope you will join in the conversation.  Thank you for a wonderful four years and for allowing me to be a part of your lives.</div><div>Laurie</div></div>
