Austin Wedding Photography – Lake Travis Wedding

When Erika and Eric asked me if I would like to document their wedding in Austin, Texas, I was really looking forward to it. Any time I’m able to travel to a new place and do what I love as a wedding photographer it’s like a double bonus. Plus, who doesn’t love Austin wedding photography? The wedding took place on Lake Travis at the Lakeway Resort overlooking some of the best views that the Texas Hill Country has to offer. It was planned to be a gorgeous outdoor sunset wedding, but alas, a gloomy cold front put a damper on those plans. Nevertheless, Erika braved the cold and we were able to get some romantic wedding portraits out on the balcony.

For Austin Wedding Photography, the Lakeway Resort and Spa is a great place to have a wedding and has lots of space for portraits. As a Wedding Photographer from Houston, it’s always a treat when we get to experience Weddings away from our home town. Needless to say, I had a great time and want to thank Erika and Eric for entrusting me with recording your memories that will be around forever.

Imelka and Rick – Portraits at The Houstonian

Imelka and Rick got in touch with me by way of an old friend and Bride who’s wedding I shot many moons ago. It’s always nice to make new friends by way of past Brides. Despite being in the middle of December, the climate outside was quite muggy, a common contradiction of weather and season here in Houston.

The Houstonian Hotel and Spa is one of my favorite places to shoot. We did the First Look Portrait session there in the front garden of The Houstonian beneath their giant Lighted Oak Tree. Their wedding was an intimate affair, with close friends and family witnessing their union, and later joining them for dinner at Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Restaurant at Citycenter. I loved the free-flowing emotion in this wedding. The tears. The laughter. The affectionate gazing. Every bit of it.

Destination Wedding in Destin, Florida

Destination weddings are something that most wedding photographers want to do at some point in their career. You get to do what you love in a gorgeous location that’s not in your hometown. When they’re on the white sands of a beach overlooking crystal blue water, great images are afoot.

Analy and Elmer – Humble, Texas Wedding

You may remember seeing Analy and Elmer here a couple of times before. We did their Engagement Photos a few months before their wedding, and then we did Analy’s Bridals, which were just awesome if you ask me

Well at long last I’ve gotten around to blogging their wedding images. The Bridal Party started the day off with the girls having lunch and the guys hanging out and playing a little football. (If you can’t tell, they’re HUGE Houston Texans Fans) It was an emotional ceremony that really made for some great moments, you could just feel the anticipation and excitement! The rain restricted our post ceremony portraits but we were able to grab a few before it really came down, and once we got to the reception the live band really kept things alive.

Xanthe and Cody – Outdoor Houston Wedding

Ashley and Danny – Rothko Menil/Heights Theater Houston Wedding

Ashley and Danny are a super awesome couple who had one super awesome wedding. Danny is Vietnamese so they chose to have a traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, then have a ceremony at the Rothko Chapel in Houston’s Museum District. Since there are absolutely no photos allowed in the chapel, we took advantage of the great weather and scenic beauty of the nearby Menil Park. If you notice in the photos below, there are tons of cool details. Ashley’s Bouquet is actually made out of thin, carved wood. I’d never seen anything like it, and unlike traditional flower bouquets, this one was unbelievably lightweight. Another noteworthy detail- Danny’s cufflinks contain the scaled-down paw print of his canine pal. Woof.

Moving on to the reception at Gallery M Squared- formerly The Heights Theater we found subtle clues that these two were more than your average Star Wars fans. Formerly a vintage theater with the original projector still in the foyer, it’s been converted into an art gallery chock full of interesting peices from the community. Not only that, they had a particularly cool DJ from Etro Lounge with a full music video projector setup playing 80’s and 90’s alternative hits that made your nostalgia meter go crazy.

If you notice the non-traditional Wedding “Cakes”, they were actually made from piles of Cupcakes and Krispy Kreme donuts. Also, you gotta love the Han Solo and Princess Leia souvenir coffee mugs for the guests. Like I said, really awesome, laid back couple. Enjoy.

Alyssa and Michael – Chateau Polonez Wedding

We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather for Alyssa and Michael’s gorgeous autumn wedding at Chateau Polonez in Spring, Texas. It was a sunny 65°F with not a cloud in sight. Alyssa and Michael decided to have a first look session, and all the wonderful raw emotions came right through into the photos. Love first look sessions.

They had a Peacock themed color palette and lots of hand-made details. From the custom-made Bejeweled Bridal Shoes to the one-off Jewel Bouquet, the hand made seating cards and the custom designed Bridal Gown, everything came together to make Alyssa and Michael’s special day that much more spectacular.

Alyssa and Michael – Mercer Arboretum Engagement Photos

Alyssa and Michel wanted something colorful for their engagement portraits so we naturally went where there’s normally lots of color, the local Arboretum. This particular time of year there was plenty of green but not too many varieties of flowers blooming but we still got some great shots and had fun as usual.
