The last couple of years I have watched the gecko's hanging out on my bathroom window. This year I have been waiting for them to start producing eggs. They look so cool when you can see them through their belly wall. In keeping with my 366 project using my iphone it was hard to take a photo because of the light reflecting off the glass. My subject has 2 eggs in her belly and I love how they glow in the photo.

As we were driving to school the other day we got stuck behind a rubbish truck doing its morning rounds. I was surprised that we could smell the truck in our car. Never before in all my years of driving the kids to school had we even followed a truck. So as we were stopped waiting for the truck to move on I took out my camera and made this my photo of the day. Kids were surprised but I don't think I will ever forget the smell of a rubbished truck mid summer on a hot, humid day again.

Do fairies really live under toadstools? Due to all the recent rain there are heaps of toadstools cropping up everywhere. I love them and missed seeing them around when we were in a drought for 10 years. How lovely to think that fairies are now back living in our gardens because the toadstools are here again.

Someone has left a water bottle on my desk. I am guessing it was a cleaner. Do you think they will mind if I throw it out?

Kind of feels wrong if I throw it out. It is obviously a well loved bottle and the cleaner could be wondering where he/she put it down. I am hoping that one morning it will disappear and I will then know it has been reunited with its owner.

Have created my own pattern for these little squares. It is not perfect but I am having fun teaching myself to create crochet patterns. Now the question is why did one out of four work, the wave works and the outter shape is nearly square.

When I started playing around with this idea I didn't take into consideration the color of the yarn, then I made some more to test the pattern. Might switch colors and keep testing the pattern and when I'm done, sew them all together for a cushion cover.

31/366 lesson learnt, don't put shape knives in the sink

All day as I try to do my work I am constantly reminded that I foolishly left a sharp knife in the sink. At one point I filled up with sink with hot soapy water and put my hand in and felt around the bottom. My intention was to wash up, starting with the cutlery at the bottom and felt this tiny sting and I knew straight away what I had done.

When you work with your hands it is not a good idea to damage your fingers.

30/366 curry for a quick and easy dinner

We are back into school / work mode and quick and easy dinners. Homework started this afternoon and I was in two minds about what to photograph today. Do I take a photograph of the kids doing their homework for the first time in 2012 or take a photograph of the meal I prepared? Then I got busy trying to do two things at once and the homework was packed away and the table set before I had a chance to grab my iphone and take a picture.

So here is my 30th photo for 2012 my quick and easy vegetarian meal, Curried Cauliflower that takes only 15 minutes to prepare and taste devine.

One year ago I was celebrating being able to drive over this bridge and buy fresh fruit. Our suburb had been cut off by flood water for 5 days without any power, landline phones, mobile, internet etc. I had donated all the food from my fridge to the evacuation centre and had spent the last 5 days running the help desk.

Every day I drive over this bridge and I will never forget the feeling of gratitude of being reconnected with society.

For the last couple of years I tend to flick every button trying to find the right light to turn on. I am sure that my neighbours are use to the daily light flickering show each evening at dusk. Plus when I get visitors they created the same flickering light show. Finally I have created a solution, simple and effective and no more disco lights.
