risk of gender-linked diseases via blood test at 20 weeks of pregnancy

Find baby’s sex early & risk of gender-linked diseases via blood test at 20 weeks of pregnancy

The most commonly used method to find out sex of the baby is ultrasound or sonogram. This method is most accurate between 18-22 weeks. It is normally done at the time when fetal anatomy is done in the mid-second trimester. At this point, it is usually easier to tell the sex of the baby. Earlier dates are usually too difficult to tell and at later dates become difficult because of crowding in the uterus. According to a research, you can find out sex of your baby by utilizing a blood test at seven weeks of pregnancy. This blood test can also reveal many gender-linked abnormalities.

Obstetric sonography

Obstetric sonograph (ultrasonography) is the application of medical ultrasonography to obstetrics, in which sonography is used to visualize the embryo or fetus in its mother’s uterus (womb). The procedure is often a standard part of prenatal care, as it yields a variety of information regarding the health of the mother and of the fetus, as well as regarding the progress of the pregnancy.

All embryos have a small bud or swelling. It’s known as the genital nub or protuberance. In case of a boy, testosterone starts being produced when you are about seven weeks pregnant, prompting the bud to grow and develop into a penis and scrotum. In a girl, the genital nub will become the clitoris and labia.

A blood test to determine baby’s sex early

A new research has found that a simple blood test can determine the baby’s sex for expectant parents at just seven weeks, much earlier than procedures like ultrasound. It is even with far less risky than invasive tests like amniocentesis, which can trigger miscarriage.

The research has been published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. A review was done for 57 previous studies of the test, called cell-free fetal DNA. Between 7 to 12 weeks, overall results were correct about 94% that of a boy would be born and 98% that a girl would be born. After 20 weeks, the results were almost 100%.

The test scans the mother’s blood test for fetal DNA finding for fragments of the X and Y chromosome to determine the baby is a son or a daughter, between 7 to 12 weeks of pregnancy. While ultrasound procedure is not conducted before second trimester, the other procedures like chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis have some risk of miscarriage.

Families with a history of gender-linked diseases will certainly like to avail this test, since it can help in identifying at-risk babies early. However, there is a worry that some couples will misuse it for sex selection of the baby.

For now, the debate is going on in the U.S., where the test — estimated to cost more than $400 — is not as widely available as it is in Europe. “It is being used in Europe for medical indications, and there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be used in the U.S.

The blood test seems useful to determine sex of your baby as well as gender-linked ailments. There is always a debate about exposure of the fetus to ultrasound waves. Looks like the limiting factor for insurance companies is the cost of the test itself. In my opinion, if the test offers determination of gender-liked diseases, it’s cost can be justified.

Here we discuss a few things that every expectant couple should pack, but no matter what, ensure that you pack early. If you pack last minute, you are most likely going to forget something.

Infant Car Seat - Have your car seat already installed and ready to go.

Baby Outfit - Make sure to bring an easy outfit to place on your little one when it is time to leave.

Mommy Outfit - When it is time to go you will need to have an outfit for yourself. Make sure the clothes are loose fitting and comfortable. Now is not the time for a fashion show.

Recording - Bring a camera or camcorder so that you can share the memories with those who could not be there.

Cell Phone - Ensure you bring your cell phone so that you can call everyone you want and announce the baby is here.

Toiletries - Bring your own soaps, toothpastes and shampoos to get ready in the morning with.

Clothes - You will want to be comfortable before, during and after labor. Bring your own robe, nightgown and slippers, but be sure they are easy enough for the hospital staff to access you in.

Distractions - Bring distractions for both you and your husband. Movies, games, crosswords, books and even laptops are great distractions for any expecting couple.

Birth Plan and Documents - Bring along your birth plan, but be sure to make several copies. You will also want to bring along your insurance card and any other important documents the hospital has requested you to bring.

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

When you are pregnant, almost everything you consume travels, in one way or another, across the placenta. This means that everything you eat, your baby gets the benefit-or the negative consequences-thereof.

So if you are used to consuming sugar, caffeine, and other substances that cause a negative reaction in your body, it's important to cut back for the next nine months, to give you and your baby the best possible health during pregnancy. Here are the things you need to know about pregnancy and diet:

Sugar and Artificial Sweeteners

One of the biggest pregnancies no-no's is also the most innocuous: sugar and its artificial counterparts saccharine, aspartame, and sucralose. Because weight gain is sometimes encouraged during pregnancy due to the old wives' tale about needing to eat for two, sugar consumption is not widely discouraged by society during those three trimesters.

Artificial sweeteners, because they are used in everything from soda to ice cream, are also not specifically forbidden by society and so many women who wish to curb weight gain continue to use these chemicals to help ease sugar cravings.

However, sugar and artificial sweeteners can cause very real damage during pregnancy. Sugar can lead to weight gain in both mother and fetus, making it difficult to have an easy labor. Artificial sweeteners are laden with dangerous chemicals that can cause a host of lasting health issues in both mom and baby. So they should be avoided altogether.

Fortunately, there are all-natural alternatives available that you can use during your pregnancy. Raw honey, agave syrup, xylitol, and stevia can all be used in moderation to curb your sweet tooth without any adverse effects.

Processed Foods

Processed foods are so prevalent in our society that most pregnant women don't think twice about eating them. But you should. Processed foods contain sodium, fillers, preservatives, and other additives that can contribute to weight gain, bloating, water retention, and gas during pregnancy.

Switching to whole, unprocessed foods takes some concentration but the foods you consume are actually cheaper and more filling than their processed counterparts. For example, rather than eating a fruit cereal bar, consider eating a whole apple. Apples are high in fiber, vitamins and minerals that your body needs to function at its prime. Cereal bars are full of unnecessary additives like preservatives and sugar, and they are low in fiber. Go for the whole foods if you are regulating your weight gain.

Caffeine

Contrary to popular belief, you can consume some caffeine during pregnancy. According to most experts, you can safely ingest up to 150mg of caffeine daily throughout your pregnancy. That's the equivalent of one cup of coffee or two cups of black tea.

However, the way that caffeine affects your body is the same way it affects your fetus. As your blood pressure increases, so does your baby's. As you become dehydrated, so does the baby. So it is wise to severely limit your consumption of caffeine to spare your baby this added stress. Slowly cutting back on your caffeine intake is much more preferable than cutting it down cold turkey.

Soy Products

Although soy is routinely consumed by vegetarians, vegans, and other health-conscious individuals, studies show that soy has troubling side effects. If you eat a lot of soy while pregnant, these studies show it can impede the proper development of your baby's sex organs.

If you are vegan or vegetarian, seek out alternative sources of healthy protein, such as organic whole eggs, raw nuts, and nut butters. By now you are probably experiencing most of the classic pregnancy symptoms. You may be struggling with morning sickness, fatigue, and moodiness. Your breasts may be feeling tender and may look different than they did before. It's even possible that you're starting to show a little, especially if this is not your first pregnancy. What you're seeing though will probably not be noticeable to other people. While your clothes may not fit comfortably now, you most likely do not have a noticeable bump yet.

You may still be noticing mild cramping. This may continue throughout your pregnancy as your uterus stretches and grows. Concerns about miscarriage may still be in your head, but as each day goes by this fear may begin to decrease. By the time you are 8 weeks, your risk of miscarriage goes down to about 5 percent and if you've been able to see your baby's heart rate on an ultrasound your chances of having a successful healthy pregnancy are much higher.

This week your baby is about 12 mm (or about half an inch) long. She weighs about a gram now. Her ears are forming. Her teeth buds for her baby teeth are developing and her optic nerve and eye lids are forming now. And, believe it or not she is actually starting to move around inside of you. You just can't feel it yet.

You are inching your way through your first trimester and it won't be long before you'll be able to hear your baby's heart beat with a doppler.

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

Scary? Yes. Still, the risks of pregnancy after 35 might not be as bad as they seem. For congenital anomalies, for example, it might be the difference between a 3.5 percent risk and a 5 percent risk. This would translate to a 95 percent chance of delivering a healthy baby.

In addition, normal age-related changes may predispose older moms to certain problems during pregnancy, such as:
High blood pressureDiabetesPlacenta previa — when the placenta partially or completely blocks the cervix — or other problems with the placentaStillbirth — fetal death at or beyond 20 weeks of pregnancy
Here, too, it's important to keep your perspective. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the risk of stillbirth for all pregnancies is less than 1 percent. For women ages 35 to 39, it's 1.1 to 1.4 percent. For women age 40 and older, it's 1.1 to 2.1 percent. Even with a higher rate of stillbirth, the odds of delivering a healthy baby are still strongly in your favor.

So what's the bottom line? Older moms face higher risks during pregnancy, but odds and statistics don't rule your pregnancy. Instead, take charge of your health:
Manage chronic conditions. If you have a chronic medical condition — such as high blood pressure or diabetes — make sure it's under control before and during pregnancy.Choose your health care provider carefully. If you have a preexisting medical condition, you might consult a perinatologist — a health care provider who specializes in high-risk obstetrics. If you don't have access to a local perinatologist to manage your entire pregnancy, consider a single consultation with the nearest perinatologist for evaluation and help planning your future care.Be honest with your health care provider. Talk about the risks, and share your fears and concerns. Work together to create a responsible plan of care.
Don't go through your pregnancy on pins and needles. Trust nature, trust yourself and trust your health care provider.
blog index References ACOG practice bulletin No. 102: Management of stillbirth. If you're like most pregnant women, you'll experience swelling in your hands, feet and legs — especially during the last few months of pregnancy. Being normal doesn't make the swelling pretty or less uncomfortable, though.

If you're bemoaning your cankles as you struggle to fit into your favorite shoes, consider ways to decrease swelling in pregnancy:
Prop up your feet. This works best when your feet are higher than your heart.Sleep on your side. It may also help to elevate your legs with pillows. If it's tough to keep your feet on pillows all night, follow my mother's advice — place a firm pillow between your mattress and box spring for a slight elevation.Take frequent breaks. Avoid standing or sitting with your feet on the floor for long periods. When you're seated, take frequent opportunities to get up and walk around — even if it's just doing a few laps around your desk or workspace.Choose clothing with care. Wear loosefitting clothing and supportive tights or stockings. Avoid tight cuffs around your wrists and ankles.Drink plenty of water. Contrary to popular belief, drinking fluids can help ease swelling.Limit salty foods. Salty foods can contribute to water retention.
If you experience severe or sudden swelling, mention it to your health care provider right away. Excessive swelling in pregnancy can be associated with a serious condition called preeclampsia.

After the baby is born, your body will begin to get rid of the excess fluid it needed during pregnancy. It may take a week or so and the swelling may seem to get worse before it gets better, but you're sure to see your ankles and calves again.
blog index

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

I'm not sure if men enjoy it as much as women do, since you never see men advertising bubble bath. Still, since being in a tub is so relaxing, I think it makes sense to labor in water. And if water feels good during labor, water birth is sometimes the logical next step.

Water birth may seem revolutionary, but it isn't a new idea. Water birth is a fairly common practice in many European countries, as well as Australia and New Zealand. Many birthing centers and hospitals in the United States have begun installing birthing tubs as well.

During labor, water immersion decreases the need for pain medication. When delivery takes place underwater, there may be less vaginal trauma. In addition, you might like the idea of the baby moving from the fluid environment of the amniotic sac to the warm water of the birthing tub.

You might wonder about many aspects of water birth, too. For example:
What happens if my water breaks in the tub? Amniotic fluid is sterile. If your water breaks while you're soaking in the tub, there's no need to change the water. Likewise, water birth doesn't increase the risk of infection. What if I have a bowel movement during labor or delivery? This is every woman's fear, whether delivery takes place in bed or in the tub. If you have a bowel movement while you're pushing in the tub, it'll simply be scooped out with a small fish net.Is it risky for the baby to be underwater after birth? Babies are born with a dive reflex, which allows them to block their throats when underwater. There's no guarantee that the baby won't breathe in fluid from the tub, however. Instances of near-drowning have been associated with water birth.
Water birth doesn't have universal support among health care providers. You might even find that your own health care provider is a proponent of water birth but the baby's doctor doesn't support the practice.

If you're interested in water birth, learn as much as you can. What's also a fact of life is the need for reliable child care. Depending on where you live, the search for quality child care could begin months before the baby is born — or perhaps even before you're pregnant.

If you're researching child care options, think about:
Your budget. Know the cost of child care and how it'll affect your budget. If the expense is prohibitive, get creative. Perhaps you or your partner could adjust work hours or schedules to reduce the need for child care.Your expectations. Be open and honest with any prospective child care provider. When my first child was born, we lived in a small town in eastern Arkansas. The child care options were limited — and my expectations were unusual. I used cloth diapers when everyone else was using disposables and I breast-fed when everyone else was using formula. The ladies at our chosen child care center had to learn about frozen breast milk and how to handle the yucky diapers. I'll always admire them for their tolerance of my preferences and the way they truly cared about my baby.Your family. If a loved one offers to care for your baby, give it serious thought. Be prepared for the emotions that can accompany such an arrangement, however. I'm eternally grateful to my mother, who cared for my third child when I went back to work just six weeks after he was born (back in the days before the Family and Medical Leave Act). My mother did a fine job, yet she felt free to tell me all the things I needed to do differently regarding my son's care and especially his feeding. In hindsight, it was a small irritant — but at the time, my husband had to listen to a lot of griping on my part.Your satisfaction. If you're unhappy with the care that your child receives, explain your concerns to the child care provider and describe the changes you expect. If you remain unsatisfied or you're concerned about your child's safety, look for another child care provider. If you think your child has been mistreated, report the situation to a licensing organization or a child protective agency.
Of course, none of these recommendations are based on science or research. They're simply based on my personal experience and the stories other women have shared with me over the years. I'd love to read your recommendations for finding and keeping child care. She wants to know some way to prevent giving it to her child, as she wouldn't want him/her to go through what she has been through.

I personally don't see why pregnancy and candida wouldn't mix. I had candida while pregnant with two of my children and most likely my first, too. I had no idea that I had candida, though. Once I discovered all of the symptoms that Candida can cause, I realized that I had been suffering with it for many years. If you became pregnant or plan on it, I would consult a naturopath or holistic doctor to see what you could do.

It seems like if you follow the diet and keep yourself healthy during your pregnancy, it shouldn't affect the baby at all. I would think though, that taking antifungals to kill off the yeast during pregnancy might be harmful, especially all of the toxins after die off.

As far as your nursing daughter, unless she has been on some major antibiotics or has been seriously ill, I don't see where your candida would be able to affect her. Other than making my milk gassy for my daughter, the yeast never seemed to have any adverse effects on her.

The only problem I have having so far trying to fight candida and being pregnant is that I'm losing weight instead of gaining. I have lost almost 10 pounds and I'm 11 weeks along. I wished I could turn this around, but it was tough with the new eating habits.

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

Although some people will tell you that you cannot predict such a thing accurately, most of the time with the proper calculations you will be able to tell when your child will be coming into the world. It is important to understand that the day you come up with may not be exact, but it should be fairly close to when the birth will occur. There are a few different methods that you can use to tell when your baby will be born, including what is referred to as the "40 week method".

The 40 week method is perhaps the easiest and most accurate way to predict when a child will be born. This involves starting at the day of your last menstruation cycle and using that as the base point which will be important in determining your child's future birth date. After you have established when your last menstruation cycle was, you will need to add 40 weeks to the day of it. One of the main problems with using this method is that it doesn't completely take into account women who might have a slightly shorter or longer menstruation cycle, but it is one of the more accurate ways of telling when your child will be born to the day. It is something that many expecting mothers like to do because it gives them a chance to prepare for the big day. The more prepared you are, the better and more smoothly things will end up going when it comes time to head to the hospital.
This article has been viewed 10 time(s).
Article Submitted On: November 20, 2010

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

It is an important nutrition all of us should have. It plays a vital role for pregnancy and child birth. One should know how much is too much folic acid.

Being a water soluble substance generally our body will eject out more than it needs. Before I explain one problem anyone can face due to more dosage of folic acid let us discuss how important this nutrition is.

Folate is essential for cell formation and maintenance. It collaborates with many anti oxidant nutrition and supports for cancer prevention where cells divide rapidly.

For production of red blood cells folate is required. Inadequate folate will lead to anemia and consequent symptoms like heart palpitation etc., will be observed. Loss of weight and loss of appetite can also be possible.

How much is too much folic acid? All adults should have 400 mcg of folate per day. In the case of pregnant woman it should be 600 mcg per day. Why?

If you are a child bearing woman irrespective of whether you plan to have a baby now or defer you should have adequate folate levels in your body. It should be 400 mcg per day. If you do not have even before you conceive the baby you had damaged the baby.

This is because the first 28 days of conception is where the foundation for brain and spine are laid. You will not even know that you are conceived unless you test when you miss the period. Beware. Such is the power of this nutrition.

Folate should be adequately maintained during the first 3 months of the pregnancy. These periods are crucial to ensure the baby is not born with any neural defect.
Let us now examine how much is too much folic acid in other cases. Studies reveal that folic acid above 1000 mcg per day is considered not suitable. Especially in the case of older adults above 50 years of age this has to be kept in mind. There is a reason for this.

The symptoms of deficiency of folate and vitamin b12 are more or less the same. While majority of them can be resolved by folic acid intake the one relating to nervous system caused by vitamin b12 deficiency cannot be tackled by folate. What will happen? You keep on taking folate to address the nervous problem and folate will mask the problem created by the deficiency of b12. A point will reach that the repair cannot be reversed even after diagnosis that b12 caused this problem. This is a dangerous situation.

We should know that the nutrition should always be balanced in our health. It should not be tilted by too much of any one nutrition. That is the reason I take a fantastic natural nutrition supplement that has all the nutrition derived from more than 70 natural herbs and salts. While my diet generally includes leafy vegetables, citrus fruits etc., which are rich in folate I take this supplement to ensure balance. This has fortunately b12 also to maintain appropriate level of folate and b12. Visit my website and you will have more answers on how much is too much folic acid.
No FMLA in those days. I thought I was ready. I had found a good day care. They were willing to work with my frozen breast milk and cloth diapers. In fact, the talk in town was that I was a hippie because I breast-fed and used cloth diapers. I'm sure I've been called worse for less. My biggest worry was that other babies would start crying and I would leak milk all day.

I had a hand-held breast pump, which might seem medieval today. I also had an absolute certainty that I would be able to do this. This was in the days before computers and the Web, so I was ignorant of statistics about poor breast-feeding success rates for working mothers. I pumped during my lunch hour in my shared office, then put the milk in the refrigerator until it was time to go home. I'll always remember the day I sobbed in the parking lot because I'd spilled the bag of liquid gold — my breast milk. I got over it, but I developed a different system for transporting the valuable stuff.

Today you can buy electric pumps that will empty both breasts at the same time. Some employers offer private spaces for breast pumping. Breast-feeding is more common, so there's a bigger community of women to ask for suggestions and advice — both online and in person.

If you're considering breast-feeding after you go back to work, be sure in the knowledge that you can do it. Pumping can be a bother and there may be days you want to throw the pump out the window, but don't throw anything anywhere. Brainstorm ways to make pumping more convenient or less burdensome. There are no rules set in stone, and it's up to you to do the best you can.

Do you have tips or stories about returning to work while breast-feeding? I'd love to read them. So wrong! Sometimes labor is short and not so sweet, and other times labor is long and drawn out — and you won't know which way your own labor will turn out until it's over.

To handle labor pain, try various positions and techniques throughout labor. For example, you might rock during a few contractions, stand and sway for a few contractions, and then bounce on a labor ball for a few more. If lying down on the floor or squatting seems appealing, find a way to do it. What's best is what feels right at the moment — and it's likely to change as labor progresses. The foot massage that felt great when you were 4 centimeters dilated may make you want to kick someone at 6 centimeters. The rocking chair that seemed soothing at 6 centimeters may make you nauseated at 8 centimeters.

Also consider using noise as a distraction during labor. You might prepare a couple of playlists or burn a couple of CDs ahead of time — one featuring upbeat, energetic music and the other featuring quieter, more comforting tunes. You may end up using both types of music, only one or none at all. Again, this is something you won't know until you're in labor. I always thought I'd want music during my own labor, but silence was my preference once the contractions became more daunting.

As labor progresses, you may find it helpful to repeat a word or phrase over and over — either out loud or in your head. Ideally, your mantra will be something positive, such as your baby's name. If something more negative seems to stick in your head, though, go with whatever works.

In the end, don't be afraid to try anything and everything during labor. If something feels right, do it until it doesn't feel right anymore. If you run out of ideas, ask your nurse, midwife or doula for help. Have faith in yourself and your body as you bring your baby into the world.
blog index

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

This population is a part of the total population and is usually taken from people of child bearing age. This is usually between 15-44 years for married women and 15-50 years for men.

It is estimated that about 6% of 15-50 year old males are infertile while about 7.4% of women between 15-44 years and are married are infertile. This number is expected to grow over the years as there seems to be no change in the lifestyles people live. These contribute to some of the causes of infertility.

You may wonder how infertility statistics concern you. Depending on your age bracket, your reason for asking so will vary from persons of another age bracket. I will divide the reasons into two, one for those who already have children and the other for those who are yet to start a family.

If you already have enough kids and do not plan on having others you may think that you have escaped the problem infertility brings. While that may be partially true I would not count on it. You have had the privilege of having children and feeling the joy that comes with it. Your children will one day want to have children. Having grandchildren might be something you look forward to. But what if your child is infertile?

The problem of infertility affects not only those who are infertile but also those close to them. As a parent, ensuring your child does not become a statistic is necessary. Look for ways to keep the child healthy. For the girls, if they reach puberty and don't have any monthly periods, ensure she is checked up by the doctor.

The second reason why infertility statistics are important addresses those who are yet to have children. Everyone will one day want a family of their own. Infertility however can ensure this does not happen. Understanding the statistics gives you a clear picture of where you stand among others. This should help you determine what measures to take not to fall under those who are infertile.

By understanding the importance of infertility statistics, you will be able to understand the reasons why you should be tested. For example, most of the women in childbearing age who have pcos do not know about it until they want to get pregnant. A simple test done earlier would have enabled treatment and allow them conceive at their chosen time.

Testing will enable you know if you are infertile and what treatments can be undertaken to reverse the condition. If you find you are fertile, it will be necessary to take measures to stay that way.

Infertility statistics are a great help in determining the number of people who are infertile. The first simple step desired is to bring back the romance in the relationship. Most couples after a number of years of unsuccessful attempts to have a baby begin to approach getting together as a duty. This takes the fun out of the relationship and coverts a loving activity into a stressful event. The first step towards changing this is to find ways to date each other again. Go to the movies or the beach. Share relaxed moments together. This will things more romantic again.

The second simple thing one could do is give up habits that can affect your fertility. Smoking is one of such habits. According to Frederick Licciardi, MD of the reproductive endocrinology unit at NYU Medical Center, smoking can dramatically reduce both male and female fertility. A recent study showed that smokers had more than 15% lower sperm counts than non smokers.

2 MORE WAYS TO INCREASE FERTILITY

Stress affects almost everything we do. So,it may come as no surprise that a third way improve the chances of having a baby is to find ways to reduce stress. This may be stress related to the frustration associated with fertility problems or stress from the activities of daily living. Studies already show that stress reducing therapies increase the pregnancy rate among women under going treatment for infertility.

One of the ways this can be done is if couples take the time to visit needy children. This will help them give more of themselves without having time to feel sorry for themselves and frustrated by their own circumstances. Some complimentary alternative medical therapies say that reducing stress helps to restore the energy balance within the body and allows energy to flow properly to the vital systems within the body. This of course includes the reproductive system.

A fourth way to improve fertility is through moderate physical activity. According to the World Health Organization physical activity is a fundamental means of improving physical and mental health. We all know that reduction in stress is one of the benefits of improved mental health. Stress reduction has a positive effect on fertility rate.

Surprisingly daily physical activity can be as simple as walking every day. How many steps do you take every day? On the average we take about 2,500 steps everyday while about 30 minutes of physical activity every day is the minimum we require for healthy living. 30 minutes of physical activity is about 3,500 steps per day depending on how fast you walk. This looks like something we can achieve with a little commitment.

Sometimes we may need some help from our friends and relatives to stay focused. Get yourself into a group if you find yourself find yourself easily breaking your promises.

Ultimately improving one's fertility will require a commitment to change both in attitude and a willingness to follow through with daily action.

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

When you take mostly citrus fruits like orange, strawberry, pineapple and other fruits namely banana, papaya etc., you get folate and when it is synthesized by your body it becomes folic acid. You can get this acid from bio synthesis also in the form of natural nutrition supplement. This nutrition is very important for cell formation and for production of red blood cells.

Folic acid folate is essential for a wonderful pregnancy. Studies reveal that mothers deficient with folate give birth to neural defect babies. This acid is important for spine fluid. The deficiency leads to brain and spine disorders. In all probability cancer cells formation out of spine liquid in the case of ependymoma for an adult could be due to his or her mother's ignorance of the importance of folic acid during her pregnancy period. Ependymoma is a kind of cancer cells formation that occurs either in the spine or spinal cord or in the brain.

Inadequate red blood cells lead to anemic conditions. Diarrhea, loss of appetite, heart palpitation etc., are some of the symptoms of this nutrition deficiency.

You should bear in mind three important points to ensure happy pregnancy.

Know that the first 28 days of pregnancy is where the baby's spine and brain are formed. This is the periphery pregnancy period. If you can plan your pregnancy you are lucky to predict this. But in many cases it is not possible. If you are lucky you would have paid attention during this time.

However you cannot simply stop thereafter. You should continue for another 3 months. The dosage is 600 mcg per day.

Many women cannot predict or even plan their pregnancy. What is the remedy for them? It is very simple. Every child bearing- woman should take folic acid folate atleast 400 mcg per day and during pregnancy it should be 600 mcg per day.

Many people think that it is enough to take only folic acid rich fruits and vegetables like orange, papaya, banana, strawberry, pineapple, spinach, broccoli etc. Of course it is good to take them. But it is not the end of all. If you are very focused you should not only take required folic acid but also other nutrition as well.

There is a fantastic natural nutrition supplement specifically designed for child-bearing women. If you have been attempting for a long time without getting there, below are some things you should attempt to increase your chances of getting pregnant.

1. Reach orgasms. Research and real life facts indicate that a lady is more likely to deliver when she reaches orgasm at the time of intercourse. The cervix dunks down into the puddle of discharged sperm many times throughout orgasm. This will highly enhance the possibility of the sperm getting into the womb. There is also enough proves to justify that the chemicals discharged in the body through orgasm promote a conducive atmosphere for conception. Thus, if you and your man do not attain orgasm at the same time, struggle to make the woman reach there fast to enhance your chances. It is a good way to get pregnant fast and easy that works.

2. Perform it at the appropriate period. Attempt to get sex a minimum of once per day during the period an egg will likely be accessible for impregnation. A lady is usually very fertile within a week following her menses and a week prior to her next. Most couples get pregnant fast and easy using this system. The actual day of ovulation can differ, but it is the period it normally happens while the period of the day is getting sex before you sleep is the most appropriate time.

3. Unwind and enjoy yourself. Do not make the event a task. It is better not to reflect concerning the sex. You should know that it is the merriment section. It is effective for people who wants to get pregnant fast and easy. Attempt diverse things if it is getting too routine. You can add some candlelight, small alcohol to the fun, or any other thing you wish to add.

4. If all your efforts fail to deliver, you may have to consult a fertility professional. It may be that something is bodily faulty with you or your man which is hindering you from getting pregnant. It is usually easier for a male to get checked first because the process does not require much invasion. Bear in mind that physical fertility problems are not as widespread as most persons would make you believer. The fault may be in another place. There are no scientifically proven causes for nausea for pregnancy, although there have been speculations as to what can cause it. Therefore there are no known 100% pregnancy nausea remedies out there. Just some helpful tips on how to keep it under control. Some may work for you and some may not. The best thing to do is not give up and keep trying until you find one that works well for you. Here are some suggested pregnancy nausea remedies.

1. Frequently eat small meals containing protein and complex carbohydrates to keep your blood sugar levels even. Nausea can be attributed to a sudden rise and drop in blood sugar levels. Complex carbohydrates take longer to turn into blood sugar. They therefore are more efficient at keeping blood sugar levels balanced than simple sugars. A good example will be taking unsweetened fruit juice.

2. Make sure you eat before you go to bed. Again eat something with complex carbohydrates and high protein. This should keep your blood sugar levels balanced as you sleep.

3. Have a morning snack before you wake up. The snack should be high in carbohydrate and you should find what suits you best. After taking the snack stay in bed for a bout 20 to 30 minutes before getting out of bed. Do not rush into the days activities this could trigger a surge of nausea.

4. Eat before you are hungry. Hunger produces gastric juices in the stomach. This could trigger vomiting once food is eaten. Eating before hunger sets in allows the stomach to produce gastric juices gradually allowing for it to adapt to food consumption.

5. Take plenty of fluids during the day. Nausea usually dehydrates the pregnant woman. If this is severe, it might result in a dehydrated fetus. Taking in plenty of fluids which are high in nutrients and energy should be considered as a measure to control nausea for pregnancy.

6. Avoid foods which seem to trigger nausea and substitute them with high protein and complex carbohydrate foods. Nausea at times is triggered by some foods, be it their sight or smell. The pregnant woman should substitute them with others which seem to stay down in her stomach as well as provide the nutritional benefits required.

7. A deficiency of vitamin B6 is suspected to cause nausea in pregnancy. Getting B6 supplements is necessary. However, you should first consult your doctor to determine if you are deficient of the vitamin. The doctor will also recommend a daily dosage for you.

8. The sour taste left after vomiting usually triggers other spouts of nausea. It is important that you brush or rinse the taste off.

9. Taking your prenatal vitamins will also help a lot. If the one you take makes you nauseate try out other brands. In addition some women found that changing the time they took the vitamins helped quite a lot.

There are many suggested pregnancy nausea remedies which are not included here. The most important thing to note is that if anything helps you keep your meals down and is safe, it should be encouraged.

Want to discover more about pregnancy nausea remedies?

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

Many expectant mothers aren't sure what these terms mean, or think that perhaps they can be used interchangeably.

But they are actually two separate things that can have a positive impact on your health and your baby's as well. Whole foods are foods that are left in their closest to unprocessed state. For example, an apple is a whole food. Applesauces, or apple fruit snacks, are processed foods.

Organic foods are those that have been grown without the use of pesticides, hormones, and other troubling chemicals. Why are whole and organic foods so important to your pregnancy diet? We discuss the benefits of these types of foods in this article.

What are the benefits of whole foods?

Whole foods are either totally unprocessed, or only very minimally so. This is good because the more processed a food becomes, the more likely the food contains sugar, additives, fillers, and chemicals. Processed foods are also generally lower in fiber, lower in nutritional value, and higher in calories than their unprocessed counterparts.

That's why whole foods are so good for you-they can provide you with high nutrition and fiber while keeping your calories, fillers, and additives low. Foods that are high in calories, additives, and fillers can contribute to excessive weight gain during pregnancy, which can make your delivery more difficult. Gaining too much weight can also mean that going back to your pre-pregnancy weight will take longer.

What are the benefits of organic foods?

Organic foods are free of the troubling chemicals and pesticides that non-organic foods contain. Since most of what you consume passes across the placenta to your unborn child, it's crucial to keep your consumption of these chemicals and pesticides to a minimum.

Studies have shown that some of these additives can have a profoundly negative effect on your baby as well as on your own body during pregnancy. Organic foods also usually have a much higher nutritive value than their non-organic counterparts. Getting the most nutritive bang for your buck is the best way you can get the most out of your diet for pregnancy.

What are the most important changes you can make?

It's important to remember not to stress out about changing your pregnancy diet too quickly. It's completely understandable to want to change everything at once. But this can cause additional stress that you really shouldn't put yourself under during pregnancy.

Incorporate change slowly and look at these transformations as part of an overall lifestyle shift to a healthier way of life. Look at the long term benefits of making these changes, and know that every step you make toward good health is a step in the right direction-for both you and your baby.

Changing your diet for pregnancy slowly

So if you can't change everything at once, what should you focus on? Start by changing to organic meat and dairy products. In fact, switch to grass-fed meat while you are at it. Meats and dairy products contain the highest amount of hormonal additives, so making this change can have a profound impact on both you and your baby's health.

For produce, try switching out what's known as the "dirty dozen," the fruits and vegetables that contain the highest concentrations of pesticides. Aim for the more unprocessed version of your foods as well.

For example, instead of having a turkey sandwich made with deli meat, try a fillet of organic, free-range chicken for your lunch. These changes may seem subtle, but they will have a positive and long-reaching effect on your life-and on your baby's too!

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

It can however come and go at any time of the day or night. There is no specific thing that is believed to cause it. Possible reasons for its occurrence in over 70% of pregnant women are changes in hormone levels, lowering of blood sugar levels and sensitivity to odors. Other possible causes have been brought up.

Having so many possible causes make it hard to have a specific cure for morning sickness. This is even more complicated by the fact that every woman will experience pregnancy differently. There are also other factors like the duration the morning sickness takes before it subsides. A small number of pregnant women experience it throughout their pregnancy.

It is therefore worth noting that there is not specific cure for nausea gravidarum. But there are a number of possible cures to take care of different conditions. They can be divided into two, natural cures and medication.

Natural cures for morning sickness are much more preferred over medication. They are safer and many have been used for centuries. The setback of the natural cures is that they are more of a trial and error way of curing morning sickness. The methods are usually known by way of advice from a woman who had tried it and it worked. They do not guarantee effectiveness.

Some natural methods are even more preferable than others. Some come as a last resort after all others have been tried out. It is usually up to the pregnant woman to decide which natural method suits her best.

Examples of natural methods used by many women include using ginger, eating in small quantities, satisfying their food cravings, wearing sea bracelets among other methods. Natural methods are usually used during the first trimester of pregnancy when it is quite normal to have nausea gravidarum.

Medication is usually the last resort when it comes to nausea gravidarum. It is no secret that medicines can cause side effects. This risk is even higher during the pregnancy.

Pregnancy causes a fall in the mother's immunity. The fetus' immunity is also not fully developed. These two scenarios do not go well with drugs which can result inside effects. It is therefore usually advisable to try out all the natural methods available before trying out medication.

A case where medication is usually needed is where morning sickness persists beyond the sixth week of pregnancy. The pregnant mother should consult the doctor immediately to establish the cause. If all available natural methods have been tried unsuccessfully then the doctor is likely to recommend use of medication.

Morning sickness can be one of the most distressing conditions a pregnant woman may encounter. It results in fatigue, stress and dehydration and finding a cure is necessary. The cure for morning sickness depends mostly on the individual. Whether natural or medication, it is advisable to find that which is safest and keeps food in your tummy.

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

These forms of losses are infrequent and usually occur no more than once. There are several common causes of late pregnancy loss which include:
Structural defectsPlacental eruptionUmbilical cord compressionAntiphospholipid antibodiesGenetic syndromesUnexplained reasons, which alas are very common.
Women who lose a child later on in pregnancy often put the blame onto themselves. The fact is it is almost always not the woman's fault. You should not add in feelings of guilt as you will have enough grief as it is. Often many women who have lost a baby go through all of their pregnancy records and consult with their doctor. Sometimes the doctor or specialist may be able to shed some light on what may have happened, but sometimes there is no answer. Either way the outcome goes you will benefit to sit down with the medical professional and hear first hand.

Often once you have met with your doctor he will most probably recommend that in any subsequent pregnancies that you undergo blood tests to check for any abnormalities. They will also recommend you for more ultra-sound examinations and tests for foetal wellbeing. Sometimes your doctor may recommend that deliver earlier than you due date. You will no doubt feel more anxious during any subsequent pregnancies, this is completely normal. But it is very rare to suffer a late pregnancy loss a second time around.

If your pregnancy did not turn out as you had hoped, look for support with your partner, friends and family. Professional advice or treatment from counselling can also be very beneficial for couples who have lost a baby and can help you as a couple to come to terms with your loss. Do not disturb anything with regard to your nutrition. Believe me, there is no one water tight table that can prescribe the required nutrition for any of us. Each of our body is different and may require different input of nutrition. Generally this is obtained from our regular normal food that will have fruits, vegetables, meat, pulses, lentils, oil etc. However different nutrition deficiency leads to different symptoms. In this context if you ask me folic acid okay to take daily my answer will be affirmative if you have certain symptoms.

Folate is a water soluble vitamin B complex. It is naturally available in many citrus fruits and vegetables. It is also rich in pig liver. Folic acid is obtained by bio synthesis of folate.

If you are anemic it is sure the sign of folate deficiency. Apart from this if you have repeated diarrhea, loss of appetite, sore tongue, weakness, heart palpitation, weight loss, forgetfulness, behaviour disorders etc., you should consult the physician and most likely it is the deficiency of folate. I am particular to ask you to consult the physician because there is a belief that folic acid can set right the illness due to vitamin B. It is not so in all the cases. There are cases in which only vitamin B is important along with folic acid and folate alone cannot resolve the problems.

I will say folic acid okay to take daily in the case of child bearing women. The first 28 days of pregnancy period is very important because in that period only the child's brain and spine are developed and folate is important for such development. Also 3 months after conception folic acid is required to be taken. Generally 600 mcg per day is required for a pregnant woman.

Since it is very difficult for many women to plan their pregnancy and also periphery pregnancy period is difficult to determine it is safe for any child bearing woman to take folate on a daily basis at 400 mcg per day. If you take only fruits and vegetables like oranges, papaya, strawberry, broccoli, spinach etc., they alone are not sufficient. Each of these natural foods have different amount of folate in them. While it is good to take them on daily basis it is important to supplement the same with natural nutrition supplement.

The problem with natural nutrition supplement is the genuine availability of products. Also many of them are expensive not offering the required nutrition. If you are able to get the right product having all the nutrition including folate from natural sources you will be lucky. I am lucky in the sense that I found a fantastic natural nutrition supplement that has more than 70 natural herbs and salts including folate. It comes with enteric coated format. There is a separate edition for women giving particular attention to pregnancy. It comes with enteric coated format. Visit my website and I am sure you will know the answer whether folic acid okay to take daily.

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

This Toxic Chemical Could Be the Reason

For all those couples having trouble trying to get pregnant, there is something lurking in the foods a person eats that could be causing the problem. Foods that come in cans or plastic containers may be the ones to blame.

The chemical Bisphenol A (BPA), which can be found in all linings of canned foods and plastic containers, could cause low sperm counts and abnormal sperm quality in many men. This chemical has already been blamed for some cases of diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and birth defects, said researchers.

Five hundred and fourteen men volunteered to be part of a study on the effects of (BPA). The results were alarming. Men with higher BPA levels in their urine had 2 to 4 times the possibility of having poor or low semen quantity. Semen quality was also negatively affected. This was based on a five-year study, appearing in the latest issue of the journal Fertility and Sterility.

The body reacts to BPA as if it were estrogen. And it's the same hormone reaction that causes the behavior seen in the study. BPA has a negative impact to both male and females, but especially to males who are trying to keep their reproductive systems healthy.

Numerous studies have been conducted on this toxic chemical yet it still exists within our food supply. Countries like Canada have already removed BPA from its food supply, yet the U.S and the FDA are still unsure how to address it. Even with the added focus on the chemical, the FDA is slow to react. BPA could remain in our food supply for years to come.

Exposure to this chemical is not only concerning to those who are trying to conceive, but to everyone who is consuming this type of chemical. Long term exposure leads to all kinds of trouble.

The best way to avoid this chemical is too read food labels. There are manufactures who are now labeling their containers with BPA-free stamps. Yet there is one more issue that has come up that may make labeling containers marked BPA-free unreliable.

Should the buyer trust the company who puts the label on the can? Has the company tested its own containers to ensure there are no trace elements of the chemical still remaining after the container is made?

Sadly almost all "BPA-free" containers failed to pass a "BPA-free" test. Although the product contained a "BPA-free" stamp, almost all containers still tested positive for the chemical.

How Does A Person Avoid This Chemical All Together?

The only way to ensure a person avoids this kind of chemical is to buy products that are not packaged in cans or plastics. For instance beans can be purchased in a sack and so can rice. Fruits can be bought fresh and so can vegetables. The more a person limits their interaction with the chemical, the better off they will be.

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

There are also injections that may be administered every few months. Some choose injections other taking pills every day because there is less of a hassle involved, as they must deal with the injection every three months as opposed to every day. It may take longer to get pregnant after women stop the injection than after they stop taking the pill, however.

As soon as your body begins to ovulate again, you may get pregnant. How long this takes often depends on the type of birth control that you are taking. If taking birth control pills, it may take just a couple of weeks before you begin to ovulate again. It's difficult to assess how long it will take, though, as some women may begin ovulating immediately after they stop taking the pill, while others take a few months.

Some women may continue to experience irregular menstrual cycles for two to three cycles after they go off the pill. Once you do begin ovulating and your cycle returns to normal, however, the time it takes to get pregnant should not take any longer than had you not taken the pills to begin with.

After the injection, it may take longer to return to normal menstruation, as this form of birth control is intended to be long-lasting. While it is intended to prevent you from getting pregnant for three months, it may do so for even longer. Because the injection keeps the cervical mucus thick and the lining of the uterus thin, women may not be able to get pregnant until they are ovulating and they are producing fertile cervical mucus as well as a thick uterine lining after ovulation. In some cases, it may take up to a year before menstrual cycles are normal again and up to two years to get pregnant after cessation of the injection.

There are other forms of birth control as well including intrauterine devices. This may produce thick mucus to make it difficult for sperm to swing through and blocks the sperm from reaching the egg. The uterine lining is also thin as a result of this treatments. Fertility may return quickly after removing the IUD, although some women may have irregular periods for a few months before the cycle returns to normal. Once normal cycles return, fertility should be about the same as women who were not using birth control.

View the original article here

This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from <a href='http://www.webmagnates.org' title'make money online'>WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.
