We are Formless Awareness

“ The perspective we need to cultivate is that of allowance. We need to see that everything is already perfect as it is.”

Our goal is to understand and be free of unnecessary pain. Much of our chronic pain began as fear and has been held in the body for a prolonged period of time. We wish to be free of this pain and in addition learn behaviors that will prevent similar problems in the future. The last post in this series focused on how fear arises out of a division in awareness. This division begins our suffering...
Life is Awareness

“When issues of health arise modern western medicine would have us treat our bodies as if something to operate on like we would an automobile.”

We walk about in this biological form that we call the human body. We are born small and through the course of our lives grow to a full size adult. We are aware throughout. The awareness we have as children is the same awareness we have as adults. What we are aware of may change but the awareness itself remains the same. The inner reference point at the core of who we are never...
The Readiness is All

“The energy begins to run again because the blocks are gone—like removing a kink from a garden hose— the energy flows again.”

Where does fear originate? Why are we afraid? Our friends in the animal kingdom have a similar emotional experience but without reflection. They are absolutely in the moment dealing with whatever the threat may be. They are wholly responsive. They do not brood about their plight.

Can we learn from this and become wholly responsive? If we take this example and allow ourselves to be alert and aware...
Fear is Apprehension

“The body retains this information. The area that is stressed carries the tension.”

Fear attracts the feared. Fear is apprehension. To apprehend is to understand. We also apprehend something when we grasp it physically as in “the suspect was apprehended”. We are apprehensive when we worry about what is to come. All these meanings of the word are absolutely related. What they have in common is the growing of self.

As Many As You Like

There was recently a question posed in Google Search that went like this exactly— “How many crystals can I carry at the same time”—and so I’d like to respond to this question as best I can. The simple answer is “As many as you like”. Crystal and gemstone healing or therapy is not in the same league as therapies you might ingest like herbs or pills. In these cases you must be careful what you mix.

Gemstones and Crystals work on a vibration level. I would simply pay attention to how you feel. Pay enough...
Getting a Perspective

“Problems arise when nature’s energy patterns are distorted. What distorts them is our behavior.”

Most of us go about our day-to-day lives without considering the complexity of what is going on in our bodies to keep us alive and well. These subtle energies follow delicate patterns that require very little maintenance. So little is required of us that it is easy for us to forget and be grateful. We focus instead on what we can acquire in addition to this.

The Energy of Love

“We are uncomfortable because something is up—something is awry. How do we find out what that something is? How can we diagnose ourselves and is that even possible?”

What is the human body? According to modern science all material existence regardless of what form it takes is nothing but energy. For some reason it makes a difference that scientists concur with what is in actuality an ancient understanding. What I really mean to write is that “even modern scientists recognize this fact”.

A Closer Look at Pain

“We are simply living our lives and enjoy the miraculous functioning of Mother Nature’s work.”

What is pain? This might seem like a ridiculous question. It is not. We may feel pain, but do we know that much about it? We know that it hurts. Pain is painful. Pain is what we feel when we don’t feel good. All this is abundantly clear, but if we are going to find any lasting relief from pain then we need to take a closer look at it.

We are going to take this process of understanding pain slowly and steadily. We...
What we want is inner. What we want is not “out there” ever. Not really. Ultimately what we all want is to love and be loved. This circuit of love can be very simple. We needn't be dependent. We can learn to experience love for ourselves. The physical world is exciting and compelling and yet by looking within we can contact our own deep divinity. In this state we gain access to all the love we seek.

After looking within (meditating, for example) for some time this feeling of love for self begins to hang around all by itself—...
I laugh when I look at the title of this article “How to Wear a Gemstone” because it seems obvious. You wear it by placing it on your body, of course. You either put it around your neck on a necklace or your wear it as a bracelet. What more is there to say? I have been wearing crystals and gemstones for years, and I rarely put one around my neck.

One of the hardest spots to get at is the third eye. I wear glasses and have glued or duct-taped a stone between the bridge of the glasses and my nose to get close to the third eye. Of course when I am at home I just use a small piece of duct tape and place it directly over the chakra. Yes, my wife laughs at me a great deal, but she also appreciates the depth of my health.

One could argue convincingly that if you just wear the stone “normally” as a necklace then the appropriate chakra will tune to...
Gemstones, Crystals and Personality

As human beings we all come equipped with a personality. Where does it come from? Do we consciously choose who we are? Is it something we control? What is personality exactly? The value in determining what we mean by personality is that we may by this come closer to understanding its counterpart in the mineral world. This will help us to get a clearer picture of the process we either consciously or unconsciously go through when picking out compatible crystals and gemstones.

In an effort to clarify "Mind" in "Mind, Body and Spirit" we are examining what constitutes Mind, Awareness, Consciousness, and Thoughts.

We are all essentially one awareness, divided only by thoughts and imprints. When I speak of "we" the division is already evident. The division arises out of identification. I identify with my body, and you identify with yours, when in actuality it is the same ONE who is doing all the identifying. How can this be? How can the ONE be MANY simultaneously? It is a great...
We may look at a piece of amethyst with a bit of something else in it and react negatively thinking that it is less pure. Those jewelers who would prefer to find a piece that is virtually transparent have no sense of a stones character. You don’t reject a tree because it has more branches on one side than the other. Symmetry is one thing, but depth and range of experience is another. If you look in a department store’s catalog pages featuring jewelry it is like looking at the...
This is Part Two of Holistically Speaking, Who or What is God?

God, the all-possible must be none other than possibility itself—the possibility of fairy tales and nursery rhymes—and it is Good. Possibility actually IS all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere at once. Possibility is limitless and everything that exists falls under its realm—the realm of possibility. It is all-knowing in a good way, not a creepy way. It is all-knowing in that every conceivable possibility is simply there, open to being realized. It makes sense of...
I don’t know about you, but I grew up around images of God as an older man in a white robe. He watched over us, and could strike us dead at any moment. He was all-powerful (omnipotent), all-knowing (omniscient), and could be everywhere at once (omnipresent). That’s a lot of power. He was the ultimate authority, and you could keep no secrets from him. The thunderbolts were close by and could be thrown at you at any moment.

There is indeed beauty in nature, and we are awestruck when we behold it. There is an added element when this beauty is arrived at while fully conscious—conscious of consciousness. It is the capacity for reflection that allows these individuals to surrender and become conscious of consciousness. This unmatched natural integrity is called right action and right awareness. It is right because it is pure— free from contamination of one’s own ideas.

I remember being exposed to the idea of natural healing and hearing the word “wholeness” and thinking that this would be a good thing to become—that I would like to become whole. I wasn’t even sure what it meant, but it sounded like the right direction to be heading in. I suppose this was because for most of my life I have felt fragmented- like a hodgepodge of characteristics. I could manage well enough as a hodgepodge most of the time, but when involved in an intimate relationship it was hell. All the cracks and crevices and poorly...
We call it a nature walk for obvious reasons—a walk in nature. We find a place where there are plenty of wild plants, trees, fields, streams, a few animals of sorts, and then we walk.
