Are you serious? You’ve done all of these? Wow, okay, well then I suppose it’s time to take off the training wheels and show you how to find new ideas yourself. As the saying goes, teach someone to fish and they’ll never go hungry. I’ve given you over 151 fish though, so apparently this is a all-you-can-eat fish buffet of ideas.

When you need inspiration and you’ve exhausted all of the ideas here, use these tools and methods to find more:

1. Quora

This website is a great place to have any kind of question you can think of answered. That means it’s a great place to also find inspiration for blog posts, or simply ideas on how to come up with them. You can log in with your social media or create a free account. Once you’re in, try something like this:

2. BuzzSumo

This tool gives you the unique ability to see which of your competition’s posts are doing the best in terms of social shares. By looking at data like this, you can see what people in your niche want to read.

Those ideas with a bunch of shares will work as great concepts for posts of your own!

3. Keyword Research

There are numerous tools out there for keyword research. One such example is Keywordtool.io, which is one of the best in my opinion. Head on over there and type in your subject or niche to get a list of keywords that will easily inspire post ideas.

Right there, I’ve already found some key terms I can use to find more ideas. This is the gift that keeps on giving. Now, on to the list!

4. Impact Inbound’s Blog Title Generator

I’ve been using this nifty tool for a few weeks now and it’s helped me take a few broad topics and transformed them into concrete blog post ideas.

Plug in the topics you want to write about, you can literally pick anything, and it will spit out a headline that you can use to help spark some ideas. Customize the headline to your liking and save it to the handy notebook they provide.

When you have an idea of what your blog post headline is going to be, then you’ll be able let the words free flow and body of your blog post will be filled in effortlessly!

You’re interesting, write posts about yourself!

Blogs were originally online journals, so why not go back to the roots of the whole equation? Create a personal journal, talk about your crush and then invite them to read it for ultimate awkwardness. Share your thoughts, speak your mind, it’s your soapbox, so use it!

#1 Start a contest!

You don’t have to give away a million dollars or anything, but why not give out some hats or a custom shirt?

People love the opportunity to win stuff, and if you make it fun and exciting, your incoming traffic will skyrocket!

#2 Tell a secret about yourself

While this may not be easy, people love secrets. What’s something you’ve never told anyone before? What quiet truth are you hiding from the world?

Make a whole post about it, bring in some pomp and circumstance. Build up to the reveal and make your secret known to the world (If you secret is that you love to blog, maybe skip this one).

#3 Examine a quote that speaks to you

Find something that somebody said that gives you chills. Something that changed your outlook on life and the universe, and share it with the world.

Start your post with the quote and talk about what did to you, and what it means to you. Here’s a good one: “roses are red, violets are blue, I love to blog, and I’m sure you do too.” – The guy who wrote this post.

#4 Try something new, then blog about it

Ever eaten a bug? How does skydiving sound? Find something ridiculous and crazy that you’ve never done before and, like Nike always says: do it.

When you’re done and you’ve let it settle in, tell us the whole story.

#5 Graph a statistic or create an infographic to start a discussion

Did you know that 70% of modern day people will always stop and look at a pie chart?

Did you know that 80% of them go and eat pie within ten minutes after viewing one?

What about the fact that I just made this all up? People like to see data mapped out in creative ways, so put together a well-designed infographic and teach the world with fancy shapes, cool font, and pretty colors.

#6 Interview a famous person, your grandma, whoever you want.

If you posted an interview with someone like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise, you would probably get a million hits.

Unless you know them though, that could be difficult, and you don’t want to sacrifice your journalistic integrity by making something up, so get creative? Is your great grandfather a war hero?

Did your grandmother meet the president or the queen of England? Everyone has stories to tell, all you need to do is ask, and you’ll find some great material to interview them about.

#7 Create new recipes and share them with your followers!

I’m not sure how I feel about your pickle and cotton candy sandwich, or your candy cane shish kabobs, but I’m opening to trying them, I guess? If you have a cooking blog, create some awesome new recipes and post them for other people to try. Just make you try it yourself before recommending it to your followers.

#8 Create an in-depth guide

Share your skills with a fancy guide that teaches a valuable skill. For example, I wrote a fully comprehensive guide on how to start a blog.

Teach people valuable skills around survival, repair, arts and crafts, whatever blog post idea strikes you.

#9 Do a “top ten” list

Since this is number ten, I figured it was a good time to mention this. Create posts where you rank the “top ten” of something.

Examples include “The Top Ten Blog Ideas” and “The Top Ten Blogging Websites.” You can put us at the top of both lists and go from there.

#10 Travel the world, post as you go

Take a trip around the world and post pictures and updates as you make each stop. You can even sample the local cuisine or review your accommodations.

#11 Stir the pot, bring up an old argument

Bringing up an age old argument and opening an old wound is a great way to get people talking, or yelling for that matter.

You may bring out some passionate individuals, but if one thing’s for certain, this blogging idea is sure to get the traffic flowing.

#12 Respond to recent events

Major events will always bring about a response, but you would weigh in with your own opinion.

If the president made a bad decision, or a major corporation is in hot water, or heck, if a celebrity got a nose job, you should tell the world what you think of it. Every opinion counts, and you can have your followers share too.

#13 Write a joke

Since you’re looking for things to blog about, why not create a joke? It can be something simple and catchy, or one of those long ones that comes together in the end with a hilarious punchline.

Even if it’s as simple as this one: “What do you call a cow with no legs?” “Ground beef!” Ah, that’s a classic.

#14 Create a poll

People like to be heard, and they love voting on polls to see what the popular opinion is on a subject. Find something relevant that has multiple approaches and see what people like the best. Asking for their favorite color isn’t good enough, make it creative and relevant to your niche.

#15 Share your goals and dreams

Do you want to be an astronaut? Is your dream to be air lifted above a giant blueberry pie and skydiving into it from a thousand feet up? Tell us your wildest goals and dreams, and you never know, someone might be able to make it happen for you.

#16 Talk about your life’s successes and utter failures

We all have ups and downs in our lives, but that’s how we learn. Create posts about the times you really pulled through in a tough spot, and then tell us about the times you fell face first into the proverbial manure.

These things define you, so share them with us.

#17 Share your own conspiracy theories

Are postmen really aliens? Who is the milkman, really? Why are all grocery stores slightly different in their layout? Post your conspiracy theories about aliens, gerbils, paper clips, or whatever you think might be a cover for something far more sinister.

You never know, you might be spot on. Just keep an eye out for mysterious black vans outside your house.

#18 Encourage your followers to share your blog

Create posts that people will want to share, but more than that, appeal to your followers and ask them to share your blog on their own, or promote it on their Facebook page and Twitter.

These things spread through sharing and word of mouth which is all done on the internet nowadays.

#19 Disprove a theory or myth

If you’ve seen every episode of Myth Busters and you know for a fact that they left out something, that’s a perfect blog post topic! For example, everybody in cartoons slips on banana peels, but would you really slip in real life?

Test it out, blog about it, prove those theories and myths wrong.

#20 Publish comments from your followers

If someone wrote a comments on one of your posts that said “OMG UR T3H BEST” maybe you should showcase it and speculate as to why there is a “3” where the letter “e” should be.

Even if someone just comes by to bash you for no reason, why not have a laugh at their expense?

A great way to keep content coming is to feature guest authors on your blog. Be sure to lay down some guidelines though, and review their topic and work before you post it though.

You can find some great bloggers out there to share their thoughts on your blog, so create a post inviting people to submit their ideas. You get more content, they get features. It’s a win-win.

Are there truly a finite number of blogging ideas in the world? What is the true definition of a carbon footprint? Are we really here for a bigger purpose?

There are so many questions like these that don’t have a solid answer that you could write posts about these for a long time and still only scratch the surface. You’re welcome.

#23 Create a memorial for someone/something you lost

It hurts to lose something you love be it a faithful dog or a family member, but they don’t have to be forgotten.

You can write a touching memorial for them and let their memory live on not just in your mind, but in the minds of everyone who reads your blog.

Title the post with a random date in history, maybe the day that sliced bread was invented, and talk about all the things that happened that day.

You’ll be surprised how much can happen on a random day in history.

Help out your fellow bloggers by giving out the ingredients to your secret sauce. It may seem odd to do such a thing, but if it works, then giving it out to help others isn’t going to change that.

When it comes to blogging, everyone is in it together. That it, until money becomes involved, then it’s every man and woman for themselves.

#26 Show off your personal possessions

This may seem like an arrogant thing to do, but as far as interesting blog topics go, this ranks pretty high.

Turns out, people like peeking into your life and seeing that you’ve got. Is this a scented candle I see? My, are those hand painted dishes of yours from IKEA? I see you have your bachelor’s degree hanging on the wall next to you so you never forget how smart you are.

Pictures are great in general, but having them in a blog post about your stuff is a great way to show people who you are, and makes for some great blogging material.

#27 Share the best lessons you’ve learned thus far in your life

Life is a constant cycle of mistakes and lessons, so maybe you can help out some younger or less experienced people and help them avoid a few pitfalls that you had to go through.

Case and point, sharing the things you’ve learned in life is a great way to generate some good content and help out a fellow person.

#28 Create an intricate lie and make it obvious what you’re doing

Pick a truth that everyone knows and challenge it. Or, make up something ridiculous and defend it to the last word of your post.

Crafting an intricate lie and really trying to sell it is one of those good blog ideas that can either make people laugh, or set the comments ablaze with people trying to disprove your lie. Either way, it brings the traffic.

#29 Talk about your dream vacation

When it comes to personal blog ideas, this is a great way to showcase your imagination. Create post where you describe your perfect vacation. It doesn’t have to be anywhere on Earth either, maybe you can describe a dip in the oceans of Neptune, or a space trip to the center of the galaxy. You can always do more than one of these too.

#30 Publish your resume and experience on your blog

Putting up your resume and a CV is a smart blog post idea that will not only give you some content, but it makes your skills publicly available for potential employers or other blogs to see.

This way you can show a little more about yourself and maybe open up a nice opportunity at the same time.

#31 Tell the world about your bad habits, and how you plan to break them

If you smoke too much, hit the bottle too hard, or you just bite your nails a lot, tell us about it. Then, tell us how you plan to fix it.

You can even post about it each day to show your progress and ask you fans for encouragement.

The first line should be the date of your birth and the last should be the present. Tell us your life’s story despite the fact that people usually decline to listen, your followers come to your blog to hear about you, so tell them everything there is to know.

We may have given you this blogging idea, but you’ll have to decide if you want to write it.

Obviously you don’t want to divulge anything too personal like bank statements, but you can offer financial advice and examples of your budget when you go to the store, that way people can create spending habits like yours.

#34 Post or create Linkbait

Linkbait is increasingly popular, but using them comes down to finding the right mixture of written and visual content.

There are a lot of ways to do this, but the goal is to create something people want to link to and share with others. The best blog topics find their success through this spread of shared links.

#35 Feature your most popular posts

If a blog post idea worked once, it will work again. Find your most successful posts and throw them back up again for an encore. You will be surprised how many new viewers will see it, and some of the ones from last time will probably return again as well.

Posing questions like this are good because they don’t have a single answer. This is something you can tackle multiple times as you mature and grow.

For example say you answer this question in a post before you’re married and then you answer it again after. The two posts are going to be drastically different.

#37 Write some posts in a casual, conversational style

If you tend to write in a boring, stiff style, then switch things up every once and a while. Write a few posts where you’re just talking.

Nothing too fancy, no SAT words, just a nice conversational post that keeps the tone light. It will be a breath of fresh air for you, and your readers.

If you’re a writer or a poet, put your work up.

That’s why you get a blog to begin with, to showcase yourself and your topic. Exposure is key and your talents need to be viewed by the world. This is the first step.

There are some things that people just really don’t need to know. For example, did you know that it’s impossible to hum while holding your nose shut?

Go ahead and try, I did. This is one of those tempting things to blog about, so give in and do it.

I don’t care if it’s a finger painting or a red dot, everything is considered art nowadays. Post it on your blog and talk about what it means. If you have a deep meaning behind your red dot, that’s what makes it art.

Full disclosure is the best idea when starting your own blog. You don’t have to give out your password, but if you keep followers updated with your income and traffic numbers, they will be able to see how they can help improve it, and help give you feedback.

Whether it’s the issue of opening a jar when someone closed it too tight, or ending world hunger, find a problem and solve it. When you’ve figured out the solution, post it on your blog. Helpful posts are always welcome.

#72 Argue both sides of a topic in one post

People may think you’re certifiable, but this is a fun way to go a little nuts. Find a topic and argue with yourself in a single post. Really get into it too, don’t hold back just because you know the author.

Find something that is commonly recognized and switch things up by revealing a secret about it that most people wouldn’t know. This new spin on an old subject works wonders for creating an engaging blog post.

Nothing like a good ghost story to get the blood flowing. Create a list of the most haunted locations in the world for your readers to get them excited, then dare them to go visit.

#99 Try to deduce the meaning of life

You could have an entire blog about this, but really sit down and try to figure out the ultimate question. You’ll come up with some profound stuff for your blog and your followers may just find themselves enlightened as well. As far as post topics go, this one is good.

#100 Create an ongoing mystery, have your followers decide where the story goes

This is a cool way to turn your blog into an interactive story. Have your followers vote or comment on where they want the next post to lead and make an interactive mystery out of it.

#101 Write a post series in which every section is done by a different author

You could take one of these ideas or make your own and run a series where you right the first post and each subsequent one is written by a guest author. This will create a winding road of perspectives and really stand out amongst other blogs.

#102 Publish your opinions on hot button topics

Find something that people feel very passionate about and proudly place your input into the mix.

There’s a difference between this and stirring the pot though, in this instance, you’re firmly rooting yourself on one side, or the other for the sake of proving your side’s superior nature.

#103 Write everything there is to know about your favorite animal

Pick your favorite animal or animals and create posts where you describe everything there is to know about them. This is both fun for you and extremely educational for your followers.

#104 Describe your dream house

It doesn’t have to make sense, but you can write about the perfect house and put in everything from hover boards to an automated system voiced by Pierce Brosnan. Make it creative and funny, or you can pick out a real life house and start saving your pennies.

#105 Journal your experience with a major life event

Whether you’re recovering from a disease or you are experiencing a pregnancy, an ongoing series of posts about the situation and how you’re handling it is a great way to keep content coming, and receiving support from your followers.

#106 Write about your favorite songs

If you like the lyrics, talk about that, if the band’s hairstyles are your favorite aspect that’s fine too. Talk about what makes these songs your favorite and really examine the emotional effect that the music has on you for maximum effect.

#107 Feature massive collections of various things

Scour the web or your own home if you’d like and find collections that are just too large to be true. Stickers, toys, movies, you name it, some people really go crazy collecting these things.

#108 Roast your favorite celebrities

If you’ve ever seen a celebrity roast, you know they can be hilarious and cruel all at once. Take your favorite celebrity and imagine you’re on stage roasting them and let the hilarity ensue.

#109 Showcase cultures that do things differently than you

There are other cultures around the world that we may find odd, but it would be interesting to see an actual examination of them and their practices. This is one of those good blog topics that I haven’t see used very much.

#110 Reveal your biggest fears

Don’t tell anyone where you live, because they might come play a prank on you, but revealing your deepest fears can be vindicating and exciting for your followers to read.

#111 Describe your favorite memories from your childhood

It’s hard to remember some of our early years, but we all have those great childhood memories. Tell your stories in a series of posts that will make your followers feel closer to you.

#112 Post funny pictures of your pets

I have two dogs and let me tell you, they can be ridiculous and hilarious at times. Catch them on camera or film them and upload these to your blog for instant success.

#113 Create your own superhero or villain

It doesn’t have to be too serious, but come up with a superhero or villain and write out their whole story in a blog post. Maybe have an ongoing series with them if your followers like the idea.

#114 Speculate on the mysteries of the universe

There are things like dark matter and aliens that we don’t know everything about. Why not try and come up with your own theories about what’s out there. These aren’t conspiracy theories, more like opportunities to fill in the cracks that science has yet to fill.

#115 Dare your followers to do something crazy (within reason)

Depending on your niche, you can dare your followers to do something crazy or funny within reason and have them send you the results. This can make for some great posts.

#116 Pretend you’ve gone insane, see how long you can keep it up

One day just pretend that you’ve snapped and start writing insane blog posts. See what happens when your followers think you’ve lost your mind.

#117 Create an urban myth

From scary stories to Slenderman, a lot of urban myths still survive to this day. Why not create one of your own and spread the word of it to see if it catches on.

#118 Spread rumors, even if they’re not real

Make up a rumor just for the sake of doing it and try to spread it amongst your followers and beyond. Don’t attack someone’s character, but maybe challenge an accepted norm and see how far the charade will go.

#119 Start a blogging war

This may not fall into the category of good blog topics, but you could respond to another blog’s post and take the opposite stance, thereby instigating a blog war. You could also work out a fake attack on each other in the background and see how the followers react to your flying insults.

#120 Create posts about your pet peeves

Watch out for people who will use this against you, but you could always write about the things that make your fists clench involuntarily.

#121 Showcase the most ridiculous phobias

There are fears out there that, while real, are ridiculous. Point out some of them in a post or several and make the fear of peanut butter being stuck to the roof of your mouth (Arachibutyrophobia) known to the world

#122 Write posts from other perspectives

Pretend that you’re a rock, or a dog, maybe even a microwave and write posts from that perspective. This is great for flexing the old imagination and makes for some hilarious moments.

#123 Describe the weirdest thoughts you’ve ever had

Our minds tend to have odd moments, so when you have one write it down and create a post about it.

You can pick out one of the strange thoughts that seemed to leap into your head and it makes for great material.

#124 Invent your own product, share your idea

Don’t give away too many details before you patent it, but this is a good way to get feedback on an invention or product concept.

#125 Criticize things that cannot be changed

Do you hate that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west? What about the fact that winter comes after fall? Try complaining about it even if you can’t change anything. It makes for a fun post.

#126 Write a series of posts where you take everything literally

Try taking every figure of speech and idiom at face value and write about it in your post. This can result in some truly hilarious situations. For example, how can you do something every now, and again?

#127 Try writing a post in an entirely different voice and tone than usual

In the spirit of changing things around to keep your followers on their toes, why not try changing up your tone and voice out of the blue for a post or two? You could even rhyme like I just did.

#128 Chronicle your favorite plot twists

This requires a big spoiler warning, but you could point out some truly great twists in movies, books, and video games that could last for several posts.

#129 Promote a cause that you feel passionate about

If you have something like a charity or a cause that you want to help promote and raise money for, blog about it and help raise money for the cause. Just make sure you have a way to show that the money is going to the right place since people will want to ensure they are donating to the cause.

#130 Highlight your most insignificant accomplishments

Instead of bragging about major successes, post about all of the little things you accomplished each day. For example: “I got out of bed,” which is hard, so let the world know you’re stronger than that.

#131 Describe how something extremely complex works

I don’t know how a microphone works. I can make it record my voice, but I don’t know how it does that. Try breaking down electronics and appliances into their individual parts and explaining how they do what they do.

#132 Predict the future, back up your claims

Do some research and really try to predict what’s going to happen either in your life, or the world, and publish your predictions. See how close you were, or how far off you can be as time goes on.

#133 Post clever “life hacks”

These are fun things that make your life easier. For example, if you place a wooden spoon across a pot of boiling water, it will never boil over. These make for great topics and there’s a lot of them out there.

#134 Write about things you like that other people hate

Everyone’s got an opinion, but there are some things that people really like that others truly hate. Find out which ones fall into your field of interest and defend the honor of it in your blog posts.

#135 Take a picture of your computer desk as it is, then explain it

Your desk may have a wallet, empty soda cans, a microphone and some bills on it but snap a shot and upload it with an explanation of why all of that stuff is on your computer desk. Make it a weekly thing and never clean your desk for maximum results.

#136 Write about the last time you cried

If we cried about something, it had to be emotional. Recall the last time you shed tears and write about why you felt so strongly in that moment.

Emotionally charged writing is the best kind.

#137 Post about people or things you wish you could switch places with

Maybe you want to be your dog for a day? You could write about taking a celebrity’s life for a week. This has a lot of possibilities to it.

#138 Showcase your receipt from your last grocery store trip

Cross out the sensitive info and post a picture of your grocery store trip to show what kind of foods you tend to eat and how much you spend for you other people in your life. This could start a discussion about how to cut down on extra costs as well.

#139 Write about the things you would change about the world if you could

There’s a lot wrong with the world, but what would you change if you could change anything? Tell us how you would do it and maybe someone with power will stumble across your blog and make it happen.

#140 Transcribe a conversation where your grandmother describes the current generation

You could set up a blog around this alone. Try asking Grandma to describe Facebook to you, or what a smartphone is and record her answers. I imagine they would be pretty funny.

#141 Describe the world to someone who has been in a coma for 100 years

This is a good post prompt. Limit yourself to 800 words and try to describe everything that someone who has been in a coma for 100 years has missed. Good luck.

#142 Answer a fundamental question in your own words

Take a really complicated question about life or evolution, or something very fundamental and scientific and answer it without the help of a textbook or fancy wording.

#143 Write about illusions that we cling onto

We always imagine that things like money and power are worth something, but they’re all illusions that we’ve given value. Why not tackle some of these fickle things and see how we cling so desperately to them.

#144 Create a presidential campaign, describe your platform

Politics can be a tricky thing, but if you were to run for president, what would you fight for? Would you run as a republican, a democrat, or independent? Put your campaign together and see what your followers think of it.

#145 Post a challenge and accompanying photos of your progress

Challenge yourself to grow a beard, lose weight, something that you can measure, and do daily posts with photos to show your progress. These are inspiring to a lot of people and it makes for great content on your blog to boot.

#146 Describe how something we use every day is made

It’s amazing that they get all those potato chips to taste the same, but how are they made? Put together posts of common things we use and eat and talk about the process behind their production.

#147 Create writing prompts for your guest bloggers or followers

You can post ideas like these on your blog and ask followers or guest writers to submit their ideas on them to you for some great content that you know is fitting for your niche.

#148 Post a journal of your nightly dreams and nightmares

Dream journals aren’t done very often, but it’s always interesting to hear what people dream about. Put together your own posts where you talk about what you saw and did in your dreams and maybe you can piece together what’s all those dreams mean.

#149 Create a weekly/bi-weekly newsletter

Throwing together a newsletter of various sub-sections is a great way to keep steady content coming to your blog.

#150 Write posts that one-up the competition

Most other blogging websites out there will give you 36, or 101 blog post ideas, but we’re all about bringing you the best here. Our list contains fifty more ideas than any others out there and that’s because we want your blog to be the best it can be.

How to Become Famous on Instagram: The Only Guide You Need in 2019

Want to Know How to Become Famous on Instagram?

Who wouldn’t? Having a luxurious life of travelling the world, meeting with other famous and inspirational people, being adored and the list goes on. Sounds good doesn’t it?

Well to become famous on Instagram or any other social media platform is just not something you set yourself out to do – or is it?

I’ve been doing online marketing for nearly 10 years and I’ve seen some social media accounts go from zero to hero in a heartbeat and some have worked their way to fame in a decade.

In the end it doesn’t really matter how long it takes. If you want it enough, you can achieve this. The world really is your oyster.

However, I believe there are certain best practices that help you to become famous on Instagram. As an Instagram marketing expertI’ve put together this article to help everyone get into the spotlight faster.

1. Why do you want to become famous on Instagram?

I’m not going to ask why you want to be famous in the first place. That might end up being too philosophic conversation and it’s a topic for another time.

But the main question you need to ask yourself is what do you want to be famous for?

Is it the fact that you’re funny as hell and people are drawn to you because you make them laugh? Is it because you have a great taste in fashion and people turn to you for outfit inspiration? Or are you an expert in your field seeking to help others to become better at something?

The common thing these scenarios have? They all provide value to their audience. You need to provide value, without there’s no fame and following.

End of story.

If you don’t do anything for others with your content, then it’s really hard to convince people to stick around. Think about the famous people you follow. You follow them because you like them, you like their music, their lifestyles etc. You get inspired by them.

If you want to be like them, then you better start acting like them – by providing valuable content.

Here’s why you should consider Instagram as the platform to share your story.

Instagram is one of the hottest social media platforms out there. A lot of marketeers (including myself) say that Instagram is the best place to engage with your audience. The engagement rate on Instagram compared with other social media platforms is several times higher thanks to the simple visual approach in which the content is delivered.

It depends on the niche a little bit as well, for example if you’re in finance or politics then you might consider Twitter instead. If you’re niche is heavily related to images and videos then Instagram could be the one for you.

In the early 2019 we’re looking over 1 billion monthly active users on Instagram (source: statista.com). And the rate of growth doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

So yes, it makes sense to be present on Instagram.

2. What is your talent/passion?

First you got to ask yourself this question: What is your talent or passion?

Ideally, you want to start your Instagram page around something you are passionate about and you have talent for. This is the surest way to have a great start.

If you have great passion to start a singing career, but you cannot sing at all, then don’t be sad. There are creative ways you could still shine in the spotlight.

For example you can come forward with your lack of talent and make fun about it. If you’re genuine, people will like you and follow you.

Or why not start an Instagram account about your journey of learning to sing and share your experience with the world?

There are several ways you can make yourself interesting.

3. Get the first 100 to 1,000 followers

We all have friends and family. Be sure to include everybody in your journey. This is something people often forget to do or for some reason just don’t do.

I get it, when I started @gettinggrowth, I was super nervous. The truth is, putting yourself out there is like walking in front of an unknown audience for the first time on a big stage. There will be people who absolutely love you the way you are. There will be haters (the internet – duh!) and the rest will just not care. Yet!

As long as you have fun and please the people who love you, you’ll do great!

Those first followers are important so you could actually work out your processes and start getting a rhythm of how you want to do things.

4. Develop your own hashtag to become #instafamous

Most brands and big accounts have developed their own hashtag, which is solely used by them and their followers. This is a great way to build your “tribe” and community of engaged people around a specific topic.

Of course if you’re Coca-Cola or Apple, people all over the world will use your hashtag without actually following you.

Having your own hashtag makes your account look more professional (and bigger than it actually might be) and it gets people interested in you and the movement you’re creating.

Your hashtag could be your account’s name, the name of your product, program, movement, service or just a creative combination of words that are related to your niche.

For example here’s Joe Wicks (@thebodycoach) with his hashtag #leanin15, which is the name of his dieting plan.

5. Use a large variety of hashtags

If you’ve done research about using hashtags, you’ve probably found contradictory advice. Some say use only a few hashtags so you wouldn’t look too spammy. Some say you should use 30 hashtags, which is currently the maximum amount of hashtags allowed by Instagram.

Research shows that using more than 11 hashtags gets more engagement. Buffer has put together a very nice article about using hashtags.

I personally recommend using all 30 hashtags per post. Just make sure you keep them relevant and keep changing them once in a while to reach different audiences.

In 2018, we did some experimentation on using less hashtags and using them in post caption instead of in the first comment. If anything the engagement decreased. So try using all the them and make sure they’re relevant to the post and your niche.

PRO TIP: Don’t use super popular hashtags like #life #love etc. Instead try using hashtags that have around 100k to a few million post shares to gain better reach.

6. Track your exposure with different hashtags

This one is huge!

Most of us don’t realize that people aren’t just browsing their friends’ profiles, but also searching for new cool content.

If you want your posts to be featured in the “top posts” section for certain hashtags you need to gain massive traction in a short period of time after posting. Usually your posts can stay up for around 48h. It depends on the hashtag and other accounts using it.

I recommend checking all your hashtags a few hours after posting. Did you hit the top posts section with any of them?

If you didn’t then you’re probably using too broad and too popular tags. Try using less popular ones to get some traction. When your account is already big you can pretty much get to “the explore” even without using the hashtags (Instagram reads other signs besides hashtags as well).

On the other hand, if you did hit “the explore” with all the used hashtags, you should consider using hashtags that are even more popular to reach an even bigger audience.

Keep testing which hashtags work for you and which ones don’t.

It’s not always about popularity as well. I believe Instagram’s algorithm is somewhat similar to Google’s and it also takes into account factors such a CTR (click-through-rate) and account’s activity. So if people don’t find your content relevant with a certain hashtag, then they’re not clicking/tapping on your post. This gives Instagram indication not to keep it in the top posts section.

Makes sense?

7. Make a list of competitors and idols

This is important for so many reasons.

Firstly, it’s good to get an understanding of their profile. How are they interacting with their followers (could you do something better)? What type of posts get the most shares? etc.

Secondly, it’s better to be friends and collaborate with your competitors, rather than fight for the followers. I suggest interacting with your competitors all the time and exchange shoutouts if possible (will get to that later on – so stick around).

Thirdly, if there are certain idols or competitors that you want to interact with, but you don’t really get their attention, don’t take it personally. We’re all humans, and we all have 24 hours in one day. They’re probably just overloaded with everything that’s happening on their social media.

However, you could occasionally mention them in your post captions. If they see that, they just might respond by leaving a comment. In those cases your post has better chances of being pushed into the explore feed. A comment from an account with a super high follower base is considered very valuable.

8. Your bio is important, but don’t overthink it

Tell something about yourself in 150 characters.

That is a challenge if you have a lot to say.

When it comes to writing an outstanding bio there really isn’t one right way to go. If you’re familiar with the AIDA (Awareness, Interest, Desire, Action) concept, then your bio would be either the Awareness or Interest part.

Make a bio that grabs instant attention and interest so your potential followers would want to scroll down and see your posts.

If you have a link in your bio, then it’s definitely a good idea to draw attention do it. You can spice up your bio by using your personal hashtag (which we talked about already).

You can also use emojis 😂😍🔥🔥in the bio, which is a nice addition to make your bio look more lively. Although, it really depends on your niche and target audience. I’m pretty sure everybody on Instagram gets emojis, but it might not be appropriate for certain accounts.

Let your potential followers know what your account is about and suggest them to follow you. Something like “Follow my journey towards learning to sing from zero”.

9. Set your theme

You obviously want to stand out and not be another indie lifestyle blogger, food lover or world traveler. Wow, that almost rhymed.

Anyway, you should always try to stick to a certain color pallet or photo style. Don’t copy it from someone, but think about what you love and how can you make your feed look unique.

Of course, the more people will see the real you, the easier it is for you to create content and make people fall in love with the real you.

10. Tell a story

Telling a story online isn’t that difficult. We all have stories to tell. The janitor in your apartment building has a story, the CEO of Google has a story and YOU have a story.

The way we present these stories is everything. There are 3 key elements why people interact in social media.

They want to be entertained, inspired and educated. These are linked with what we discussed in the first point.

Let’s come back to your talent. If singing is your thing, here’s some cool ways you could tell a story:

Did you learn or are you learning a new vocal technique? Great! Let your followers know how you did it or what progress you’re making. Maybe you can give them pointers on how they too could master the technique.
Did you get turned down on a gig? (There-there) That’s a positive thing. You can now share this story with your followers and maybe even organize a live concert to them via Instagram Live feature. People are mostly emphatic and this would be a very engaging thing to do.
Did you hear a great joke the other day? Well, why not turn it into a song and record a 60 second video of you performing it?

11. Building a stunning feed

Instagram is all about beautiful content. Don’t expect to get away with photos that are shot in low resolution or that are poorly lit.

Never post content you’re not 100% happy with. Make each post seem like you worked on it the whole day.

So what about selfies?

Glad that you asked. If you’re building your personal brand and not managing the account of your company, then selfies are definitely in the center of your Instagram feed.

Dan Zarrella, Hubspot’s social media expert put together some interesting findings on what makes a good selfie. Of course, if you’re a pretty person, chances are better, but there’s actually some other factors to consider. Investigating more than 160,000 photos with the hashtag #selfie, Zarrella found on his blog:

Using the right color schemes gets more engagement. These are cool, earthy tones, such as blue, green and beige.
Using filters isn’t always the way to go. Although the filter “Willow” takes the 1st place, “Normal” came out second. Also selfies with the hashtag “nofilter” got almost 10% more engagement. If you’re taking photos with a professional camera (which I strongly recommend), then doing some editing in Photoshop is all you need. #nofilter, just heavy editing.

12. Be consistent

Decide how many posts you will make per day or week. If you’re really serious about becoming famous on Instagram, you should aim to post at least 2-3 posts per day. That’s right – it’s a lot of work.

And no, it does not look spammy. As long as you’re posting high quality and valuable posts, you’ll be good.

Instagram likes accounts that post consistently and post quality content. So make Instagram love you and it’ll reward you with higher engagement rates and better chances to hit the explore every time you post.

On the other hand if you find it hard to produce a lot of content, don’t stress about it. Build up your feed and post a few times a weekand spend more time simply interacting the community and building up these long-lasting relationships.

In fact I’ve recently seen with some accounts I work with that sending DMs, replying to comments and interacting with new accounts helps to boost engagement a lot. Pay attention to these activities.

PRO TIP: Take time during the weekend to produce a majority of content for the coming week, so you wouldn’t ask yourself “What the hell am I going to post today?”

13. Find your best posting times

Many marketers will say that there are certain times of the day or week when you should be posting. While there is some truth in it (weekends tend to work better), I believe everybody should figure out their best posting time based on their own account and followers.

All accounts are different and the way your audience is consuming social media could be totally different from your competitors. I suggest using a service like Iconosquare to get better insight into your audience and figure out the best posting times.

14. Curate your tagged photos

Soon, when your account starts to grow, people will start tagging you. Unfortunately, some of these tagged photos are in poor quality and posted by shady accounts.

You want to be in charge of the impression you’re making and not let everyone do it for you. Although some user generated content is good for you. For example getting tagged by magazines and other PR related users is most likely good for you.

Luckily, you can remove the tagged photo from your profile, by visiting the photo and choosing “photo options”. You have the opportunity to remove the tag and still keep it in your “photos of you” section, but the best would be just to switch off the “keep in photos” option and leave the tag itself.

I believe that there’s some discoverability associated with accounts that have been tagged a lot. It works like a back-link in the SEO world.

Another thing you can do is change your Instagram settings so that tagged photos won’t show unless you approve them first. This can be changed under “Options” -> “Photos of You” -> “Add Manually”. Don’t worry people will still tag you, but you now have better control over what content is visibly associated with your account.

15. Get local exposure

Remember, people around the world use Instagram. If you’re travelling somewhere, be sure to interact with the local community on Instagram as well. Make photos, videos and stories. Geo tag them and interact with similar accounts nearby.

This feature is a great way to build new relationships and increase your following. You shouldn’t really use geo tags randomly. Make them relevant to your actual position.

Also using geo tags in your Instagram stories is huge. I see account using geo tags in their stories get nearly 2-3x more views.

The more relevant it is, the more clicks/taps you’re going to get from the explore feed. Again, this gives the Instagram algorithm indications that you have good content and it starts pushing it even more.

16. Double tap that

The power of using CTA-s (Call-to-Action).

Various researches show that using proper CTA in your bio or posts increases engagement significantly. Having a consistently high engagement brings you in front of more people and eventually gets you more followers.

So every time you’re posting something, think of a call to action. Here are some CTA-s that usually work:

Double tap if you agree
Tag a friend/family member/partner (someone who needs to see this)
Leave your comment below
Let me know what are you thoughts on this

17. Buying Instagram followers?

Buying followers is like faking your resume or CV. You’ll get noticed, but never pass the interview.

To be honest, I’ve bought followers myself and I do not regret that, it was an experiment to see how it impacts the account’s growth. And there’s definitely some positive growth aspects involved.

Social proof – people want to follow accounts that are popular and all kidding aside, followers count still is one of the most important number that new potential followers look at. Also, media count and your following count are important and especially the ratio between them.

Let me explain.

Let’s say you have just started and you have 5 posts. You have followed few of your friends and all your posts have 12 likes accompanied with 3 comments. Now you decide to buy 30,000 followers. Instant fame right?

Well, if a new potential follower visits your profile, what do you think will happen?

Would you follow yourself and think… “wow, this girl/guy is really cool, I’m gonna follow them” or will you be like “30k followers with 5 posts? Really? Probably a fake account that will be deleted soon anyway” (leaves the profile).

In perspective, having only a high follower count means nothing. I mean NOTHING! If you have a bunch of random (fake) people following you, ask yourself what good does it really do?

Real engagement is the only metric you should work with. You don’t want to have passive fans. You want to put your energy in pleasing the few super engaged fans (even if there’s less than 100 of them).

So in conclusion I’d suggest not buying followers if your account is already growing. But if you really want to boost up your first impression, do it in a believable way and use a trustworthy service for that (if you’re interested in that shoot me a direct message on Instagram).

18. Shoutouts

Shoutouts are a great way to gain new followers. I haven’t really seen much success with it when the account is still small, but it works really well when you’re already over 10,000 followers.

A shoutout is really nothing more than simply a mention of somebody in your post or story. You can either mention the account in the post caption, mention them (tag) on the post media itself or you can make a screenshot of their account profile and use that as a post media. Even better would be a post or a story of you two in it.

You can either exchange shoutouts or you can buy shoutouts.

Shoutout for Shoutout (also known as S4S)

This is were you exchange shoutouts with accounts that are in similar niches and in similar sizes. So basically reach out to accounts that are in similar sizes and see whether they are up for a S4S. Use this script for example:

Hi! How are you? Found your Instagram account and I really love your posts. Was wondering if you would be interested in a shoutout for a shoutout agreement? Either way, keep up the good work!

Cheers,
[your name]

Paid shoutouts

This is basically what it says. You pay a user so he/she would do a shoutout for your account. The shoutout rates start usually around 5$ and pretty much can go into thousands. Usually, the price is dictated by the follower count and/or engagement. The more followers and engagement an account has the more he/she could ask for the shoutout.

Unfortunately, not a lot of people look into engagements and end up paying something like $50 for a shoutout from an account with 50,000 followers, whose engagement is horrible. The result – maybe 5 to 10 followers if you’re lucky.

So, I suggest to pay by the average engagement not the follower count. I would say $20-$30 per shoutout from an account with an average engagement (comments + likes) per post of around 1,500 to 2,000 is quite okay.

You can obviously reach out to them the same way you would with S4S request. Don’t over do it though. With paid shoutouts it’s your money you’re spending, but with S4S you are potentially upsetting your followers. Image if you’d follow a cool account and all of a sudden they started to post somebody else’s content and promoting these accounts that you don’t like/know. You’d unfollow right?

19. Get featured

If you’re sharing real value and you’re in a newsworthy niche don’t be afraid to reach out to journalists and other media publications to get featured.

If you have something to offer then there’s probably other people, who want to share that. You can get featured in blogs, news sites and also get on other Instagram and social media accounts.

We already covered shoutouts, but some Instagram accounts offer the “get featured” option when using their hashtag. @motivational.diary for example does that in fitness niche.

Always try to find ways to get real stories about yourself. Buying articles or exposure is short-term. Remember what we covered about buying followers? Good!

20. Engagement groups

Engagement groups are basically group conversations within Instagram and also on other platforms (there are several on Telegram app). The idea is that all the participants in the group will engage (like and/or comment) with each other’s posts. This can happen asynchronously or on specific times of the day.

For getting massive growth it’s better if you can plan the time when you will get a lot of engagement. It’s important to get a lot of engagement in the first hour when you post, because this indicates to Instagram that your content is good and it should be pushed to the Explore section.

When participating in these groups make “good posting times” irrelevant. You should post on times that these engagement groups start the engagement or a round as they say it.

Since they are not heavily promoted you should simply direct message me or any other social media person on Instagram and ask if they are in one of these groups and if they could possibly add you too. Now, some of these groups are free and some of them have entrance fees, but they all work pretty much the same.

These groups are pretty underground and can really blow up your growth if done consistently. I’ve seen many account from going gaining 100 followers per day to gaining 1,000 followers per day just by participating in these rounds twice a day.

However getting likes from the same accounts over and over again doesn’t really help a lot in 2018. Comment groups are still awesome though. For getting more likes I have partnered up with a few talented people to bring you auto engagement service which combines different traffic sources.

21. Engage with your audience

This is probably one of the most important things you should be focusing on.

If you have gained a follower – interact with them. Send them a DM to greet them and introduce yourself. With quick replies it’s actually very easy. If you haven’t set up quick replies yet head over to your Instagram settings and add a welcome message.

It can be something like this:

Hi (name)! Thanks for following me. How’s your day going?

Next. Respond to all of your comments and take some time from your busy day to reach out to your followers yourself. Go an like and comment their posts.

Also if you are constantly interacting with your audience, Instagram will start pushing your content to their feeds. If your content is good they will like and comment. When you have good engagement, Instagram starts to promote your content in top posts section and explore feed as well.

So keep that in mind. It’s not only about accumulating as many new followers as possibly, but it’s also about building strong long-lasting relationships with your followers.

22. Advertising

If your account isn’t switched to business yet, it about time you do it.

Now you might be saying that your not a business and you don’t want to sell anything. That’s cool, but without a business account you can’t run promotions on Instagram.

Promotions or ads, however you call them are about to get more relevant than ever. Instagram (I mean Facebook) have not been meeting the expectations of the investors in terms of revenue and stock price. In order to increase the shareholders confidence we’re probably going to see some new ad products on Instagram and Facebook in 2019.

I’m thinking ads between our stories, in middle of IGTV, ad objectives to be suggested accounts to follow, promoted DMs etc.

Early adopters (advertisers) will definitely be rewarded, so I suggest you get your head into ads game as well.

Right now what I suggest you do is head over to business.facebook.com and create a business manager account for yourself. Add you Instagram account there and create a new ad account. Under your add account you can create custom audiences. Good idea would be to create an audience of all the people who have visited your Instagram profile and run a promotion to them.

Mistakes to avoid

Instagram account is not public – if people cannot find you, they will not follow you!
Following a bunch of random accounts.
Following / liking too fast (as in 200 in few minutes) – You’ll probably get banned!
Posting duplicate content all the time.
Not responding to comments or doing it poorly.
Focusing on quantity instead of quality.
Using irrelevant hashtags.
Posting over promotional content.

Conclusion

Instagram is a wonderful platform to become famous and I personally believe it’s going to be one of the hottest platforms in 2019. It’s all about delivering good valuable content. The more time you spend talking with your followers and reaching out to new followers and partners the more successful you’ll be. It might seem like a struggle in the beginning, but after you hit 1,000 followers it starts to get fun and your growth should start accelerating. Practice the principles covered in this article and you’ll be good.

Or putting it off because you’re afraid you’ll mess it up?

Well – today’s the day!

You’re FINALLY going to cross “create a blog” off your to-do list. And it’s going to be way easier than you expected. Even if you’re not good with computers.

In this beginner’s guide, I’m going to give you foolproof instructions for how to set up a blog, get your own “.com,” and find a design you love – with tons of pictures! A guide that will make it impossible for you to get it wrong.

Along the way, I’ll share some tips that will save you time and money, too!

Here’s what we’ll cover:

6 easy steps for starting a blog

I promise: I’ll make all of this so straightforward that you’ll be able to start your own blog in just one sitting:

1. Pick a blogging platform.

When I say “platform,” I mean the software you’ll use to run your blog. You’ve got lots of options: WordPress, Wix, Weebly, and Squarespace to name just a few.

You can read a detailed review of the 10 most popular platforms here— but let me save you some time:

WordPress is your best option if you want to start a blog on a platform that…

Is beginner-friendly
Makes blogging as easy as writing an email
Allows you to have your own “.com”
Has no monthly fees (you only need a host and a domain name)
Comes with 5,000+ themes to suit your style, and
Gives you the power to make money from your blog one day,

There’s a reason why WordPress.org powers over 91% of all the blogs on the web, including 62% of the top 100 company blogs.

But please don’t rush out and sign up just yet! I’ll be showing you how to install WordPress in just one click in Step 4 – and how to configure it all — but there are a few quick things we need to do first.

Couldn’t I just start a blog for free on a site like Blogger?

Yes, you can create your blog for free on sites like Blogger. I don’t recommend it, because there are some pretty serious drawbacks you should know about:

Your site will be hard to find.Want a nice site address like “Yourblog.com”? Too bad – with a free site, you’ll be stuck with something like “yourblogname.blogger.com” – therefore fewer people will find your content.
You won’t control the content.
Imagine losing years of work when your blog is taken offline because you broke a rule without knowing it. Sounds far-fetched? It happens all the time.
You can’t customize your site the way you want to.No free plugins to add functionality like calendars or online shops. Limited themes, your site will look like everyone else’s. Boooooring.
You’ll find it expensive to switch.When you decide you want more control, switching from a free platform to something like WordPress can take hours of manual work and formatting.
Someone else will profit from YOUR hard work.
This is the worst one: free platforms reserve the right to put ads all over your content. Imagine seeing a huge, ugly pop-up for a product you don’t even support on your blog– and not making a penny off of it! Unfair, right?

You’re better off creating a WordPress blog that can grow with you.

Unsure how much it costs to start a blog? Less than you think!

With a self-hosted WordPress blog, you’ll pay less than $10 per month, get a design that’s all your own, AND have your own “.com” to boot. Not bad for the added control and flexibility!

2. Choose a host for your blog.

Assuming you’ve chosen WordPress as your blogging platform (smart move!), your next step is to choose a web hosting service.

Hosting explained in 10 seconds:

Your blog is just a bunch of files. WordPress is the software you create them with. Hosting platform stores those files so they can be viewed through the web.

TL;DR – Without hosting, nobody will be able to see your blog online.

When it comes to hosting, three things REALLY matter:

Uptime: You want a host that won’t go offline randomly (bad hosts do this all the time!)
Support: You need fast support from actual experts if something goes wrong.
Price: You deserve fair pricing – and no hidden fees!

Of course, you’re free to use any other web hosting provider suitable for WordPress, but to keep this guide focused, I’m going to use Bluehost to explain the setup process.

Sign Up for BlueHost

To take advantage of the discount and free domain, click this link to visit Bluehost in another window. Then, mash on the big fat button to get started. Woohoo – you’re on your way!

IMPORTANT: The site might look a little different, but the steps are exactly the same. Just push whatever “Get Started” button they’re currently running.

Choose the “basic” plan (and save some $$$)

The Basic option is perfect for beginners, and you can always upgrade later when you’re ready.

3. Decide on a domain name.

A domain name is just the address people can find your blog at, like “www.yourblogname.com”

I recommend you get the .com if you can, as it’s easiest for most people to remember, but it’s ok to get an ending like .net or .co if your first choice isn’t available.

Quick tip: Struggling with names?

Try using NameStation or Instant Domain Search! Simply enter a keyword or topic and get dozens of ideas for available domain names all at once.

If you’d like a little more help, this post on choosing a domain namewill give you 10 of my top tips!

If you’re really stuck on a name, just click “Skip this step” along the bottom of the screen above. You can always add your free domain name later when inspiration hits.

If you already own a domain name, fill out the form on the right. You won’t break anything, even if you’re already running a live site.

Once you’ve added your domain, click “next.”

Complete your registration

There are three quick parts to this step. First, add your account info using a real email address (because you’ll need it to log in!)

Choose your package and optional extras

Next, select the options you want for your account. The first choice you have is the “Account Plan” – 12, 24, or 36 months. I recommend just 12. Why? Well…

You’d potentially save money by paying for three years upfront. But at 12 months, the price is quite reasonable and you’re not out of any extra money if you decide blogging isn’t for you after a year.

Finally, you can choose whether to add extra features.

Quick tip: Most extras are a waste of $$$ for beginners, but two are absolutely worth considering:

1. Domain Privacy – $0.99/mo (must-have)

When buying a domain, your contact details are added to a public database by law. Buying privacy means Bluehost’s details are listed instead, preventing you from being spammed with hundreds of calls from telemarketers—well worth the tiny price tag.

2. CodeGuard Basic – $2.99/mo (optional)

Losing all your content to a hack or glitch would be a nightmare, agreed? CodeGuard Basic ensures your site is regularly and securely backed up, which is great for the peace of mind. You can always add this one later on.

IMPORTANT: If you don’t want any optional features, make sure you uncheck the boxes before moving on! It’s very easy to miss.

Enter billing details

Pop in your credit card details, and you’ll be off to the races!
If you’d like to pay with PayPal, select “more payment options” at the top, above the fields.

Set a password and log in

You should now see something like the screen below. Click the green “Create your password” button.

Then, set up a secure password, click “I have read and agreed to Bluehost’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service” box, and “Next”…

Finally, click the “Log in” button. That was easy!

Quick tip: You’re about to get an email from Bluehost with your login information, and possibly an activation link. If you can’t find it, check your spam folder.

Save the emails you get from Bluehost with your login details just in case. I usually “star” them in my inbox.

4. Set up WordPress (the easy way)

The good news: Now that you’re logged in, WordPress is just sitting there, waiting for you!

On the first screen, you’ll be asked to pick a theme.

I recommend you skip this step by clicking the link below the pictures of themes, as I’ll be showing you how to explore more (and better) options later.

If you DO choose a theme now, you can always change it later without any problem.

On the next screen, click the “Start Building” button. If you accidentally click the “Or, go to my Bluehost account” link, just push the back button.

Quick tip: If you chose to use a new domain name, your blog may show up on a temporary domain name for a little bit. It’s NOT a glitch!

It can take a few hours for a host to sort out the tech stuff. Bluehost will automatically fix the domain as soon as it’s ready.

You should now see a screen that looks like this:

Welcome to your WordPress dashboard! This is where all the magic happens.

Quick tip: Wondering how to log into your WordPress after you’ve logged out?

You don’t need to revisit Bluehost: You can log into your WordPress dashboard quickly by typing in: “http://www.[YOUR DOMAIN NAME].com/wp-admin”

Just replace [YOUR DOMAIN NAME] with your actual domain name

It’s a super handy shortcut – consider bookmarking it!

On the side bar, you’ll see a few different tabs. Some quick highlights (don’t click any of these for now!):

Posts: This is where you’ll go to write new blog posts or view old ones.
Media: Check out the library photos and files you’ve uploaded or add more.
Pages: Create static pages (if you ever decide to.)
Comments: Manage the comments on your content.
Appearance: Choose new themes or edit the one you have.
Users: If you create content with others, you can add them as users so they can edit blog posts.
Plugins: Add and remove plugins that give your blog new features.

Don’t worry about the others for the moment.

At this point, you’ve got two options to focus on in the center of the screen: Business, or Personal.

Pick whichever best applies to you right now, and again: Don’t worry, all of this is EASILY changed later! Nothing is permanent, and you literally can’t screw this up.

If you clicked “Business” or “Personal”, you’ll see something like this:

“Site Title” is just going to be your blog’s name for now. Punch yours in – don’t add the “www.” – just write it in plain English.
“Site Description” is your chance to write a short and sweet summary of what your blog is all about. Keep it brief – as if you were explaining your blog to a friend or a potential client!

As always, don’t worry – all of this can be edited later if you change your mind.

On the next screen, you’ll be asked if you’d like to update your site with news or blog posts. Just click “Yes.”

Now, you get to choose what you’d like for people to see on your home page: the most recent blog posts/updates, or a more “static” home page. I recommend choosing the first option.

Next, you can set up a “Contact Us” page if you’d like people to be able to send you a message through your site. This one’s up to you!

Finally, you’ve got the option to connect your “Jetpack” profile to WordPress to improve security, grow traffic, and track your site’s stats. Jetpack is completely free – so I do recommend going through this quick process if you have a moment.

BUT!

You can always do this later, simply click “Not now” if you’re not in the mood.

Quick tip: If you signed up with a new domain name, make sure you check your email from Bluehost for an activation link inside the message.

Click it to complete the activation process and bring your new blog to the world.

5. Choose and customize your design

Finally, the most fun part: It’s time to choose a design you are really excited about. In WordPress, they simply refer to designs as “Themes” – don’t let the language throw you.

The good news: You have over 5,000 FREE options to choose from!

The bad news: With so many options, you can spend HOURS going down the design rabbit hole.

I’ve put together a list of 30+ of the best free WordPress Themes if you want some ideas (though some are better for blogs than others!)

But, let’s get to the installation part. To access the Themes, click the “Appearance” tab, you’ll see a screen like this:

Simply click “Add New Theme” to get started. Here’s a quick video that shows you what to do next to find and install a great free theme for your blog – or change the theme you already have.

It’ll be INVALUABLE in saving you some time and keeping things simple later on.

6. Start writing!

The good news is that if you can use Microsoft Word, Pages, or Gmail, writing a blog post in WordPress is just as easy. Let’s walk through some of the important features you should know!

To start writing a post, just click “Posts” in the side-bar, then click “Add New.”
If you’ve logged out of WordPress, type inhttp://your_domain.com/wp-admin/ to log back in!

What you’ll see is a very friendly editor screen that should remind you of MS Word or Pages on Mac:

Let’s break down what you’re seeing here:

1. Title Area: This is where you write the title of your post.

2. Content Area: This is where the body text of your post goes. The whole area works just like text editing in Word or Pages.

3. Standard Editing Tools: Here are options like bold, italic, lists, paragraphs, and headlines.

In a moment, I’ll show you how to use this section to add links, images, and more to your post.

At the very end of the Standard Editing Tools is the “Toolbar Toggle” that looks like this:

Click this to add even more options to your Toolbar, such as Undo/Redo buttons, text color formatting, indentation, and more.

4. Publishing Tools: This is where you get your post shown to the world.

The most important thing to note here is the big, blue “Publish” button you’ll push when your blog post is ready.
You can click “Save Draft” on an incomplete post to save your work without making the post live.
The “Preview” button can be useful to test out how your post will look when it’s live without having to publish it right away – especially when adding images or videos.
You can also use the options in this section to schedule a post for the future, make posts public or private (password required), or even UNPUBLISH a post by changing the “Stats” back to “Draft.”

5. Additional Fine-tuning Tools: You’ll sometimes use these tools to update your blog post, tag it with a category, or add a featured image – but for now, you won’t be using this much. You can learn more about WordPress categories and tags here.

Quick tip: Do you write your blog posts in a program like Word, and then copy and paste them into WordPress? You may get frustrated by how WordPress formats the text you paste.

To avoid problems, make sure you’ve clicked the “Toolbar Toggle” button, then click the “Paste as Text” button that looks like the below:

WordPress will strip out all of your previous formatting, so you can customize the text to look exactly how you like.

Adding headings

Headings help you structure your content and make it easier for people to read. For example, in the text above, “Adding headings” is my heading!

This helps people who want to scan content find what they need. Consider adding headings for each of your main points.

To add a heading, scroll up to “Paragraph” drop-down menu and select the heading you’d like to use.

Note that the “Heading 1” is usually reserved for the post’s title, therefore stick to the smaller headings (with larger numbers) inside the post.

Quick tip: “Heading 1” is usually reserved for the blog post’s title, so you shouldn’t use it again in the body of your content.

Consider using “Heading 2” to break down the different sections of your content, and “Heading 3” for sub-headings inside those big sections.

Trying to get more traffic from Google? Google loves to see the keywords you’re targeting in your headings, try to use them naturally!

Adding Links

It’s a good idea to link to other (credible) websites: Whether to share a piece of content or back up a claim you’ve made or share another one of your own posts. WordPress makes it easy.

To add links to your posts, highlight the desired text (for this example, I just wrote “Add links” as my text) and then scroll up to the blog menu.

Click the button that looks like a paperclip, to the right of the “Align right” item and above the “Add BWS Shortcode”.

From there, add the URL you want to link to:

Then, click the Settings icon on the right (the wheel-looking item above, next to the arrow).

Click the “Open the link a new tab” box. This is important—you don’t want people to leave your site when they click on a link!

Adding images

I touched this topic briefly before, but I’ll explain it more here. Start by scrolling up to the top of the blog menu and click “Add Media” in the top left corner of the menu.

Select the files you’d like to upload. You can find previously uploaded files from the “Media Library” at the top-left corner next to “Upload Files” – no need to upload them again!

Once you’ve uploaded an image, you can choose its size and placement.

Adding a “Featured” Image

A featured image is simply the image that will be displayed at the very top of your post and will be used in the thumbnails of your article when you share it on social media e.g Facebook or Twitter.

To add a featured image, run your mouse along the right sidebar of your blog menu. You’ll see an option titled “Set featured image”.

Click that, then go through the same uploading process to add an image as you did in the step above.

Quick tip: Try to pick a featured image that draws the eye – you’d be surprised how colorful, weird, or interesting images can make a HUGE difference on how many people will click through to read your blog posts!

Adding videos from YouTube

Videos are AMAZING! Whether you want to showcase your own vlogs or just share a video you love, adding this type of content is a great way to keep people interested.

To add a YouTube video…

Visit the page of the YouTube video you want to share and copy the URL.
Paste the URL into the content area of your WordPress blog. Make sure the link is on its own line (no text before or after) and is NOT clickable (don’t make it a link!)
As soon as you push “Publish” on your post, the video will appear on the live version.

Customizing your “Slug”

What the heck is a “slug?”

It’s the URL of your post. For example, if your domain name is “yourdomainname.com,” the slug would be the address of the specific post you are publishing, such as “yourdomainname.com/my-post/.”

That last bit at the end? That’s the slug.

You want to make this slug clear and concise. This will make it easier for people to share your content on social media.

You can find the slug underneath the post title. It will say “Permalink: http://yourdomain.com/post_title”.

By default, WordPress will make the title of your post the slug. But usually, this is way too long.
You should change it so that it’s no longer than 2 – 4 words.

Here are some tips for optimizing your WordPress slugs:

Target SEO keywords. Think of what people would type to Google when they search for the information you share in the post—those are SEO keywords.
Avoid duplicates (make sure it’s not the same as another slug on your website).
Don’t change the slug after publishing the post (unless you absolutely have to) as this will result in lost traffic.

Publish Your Post

Are you all done? Click that “Publish” button. Then click “View post” when the link appears to see your new post live in action!

Congratulations! You just published your first blog post. But don’t stop there!

How to Get Google Adsense Approval With A New Blog

Google AdSense is one of the best ad networks to monetize a website or a blog. It is 90% better than any other CPC advertising programs. It offers the publishers the highest CTR for every web page. The publishers could make lots of revenue daily from Google Adsense. Every new webmaster has a dream to monetize his website with this ad network. But unfortunately, many of them fail. Adsense has introduced some strict rules and requirements. It seems hard to get Adsense approval for our own blog. But, we know impossible is nothing.

The good news is “Getting Approval of Google AdSense with a New Blog is Now Really Easy”, if you follow some basic rules from the starting of your blog. When I first tried, I failed to get approval. But, following these rules, now I have an approved AdSense account. Thinking about this topic, I made a decision to share the basic rules of AdSense.

First Ready Your Blog Before Applying for Adsense:

Adsense moderators always approve those blogs whose have met up the requirements. First of all, you should make your blog ready for this process. Check first if your blog considers these requirements. Now, there are some initial basic requirements announced by AdSense team, and there are some known hacks and ttricks that work. For example, on this official page it’s mentioned that for countries like China & India, publishers need to own the site for minimum 6 months, which is not a thumb-rule. Many Indian bloggers have got approval with one-month-old domain. The only thing which really matter here is “Quality”. Let’s look at factors which will make your blog AdSense ready:

Write High-Quality Contents:

A writing proverb “Content is King” helps you understand this requirement. A high-quality blog is identified with the high-quality contents. Great contents mean unique, decorated, stated and clear concerted content. Some black hat webmasters say, copy paste content only between 100-200 words is enough. But, I may assure him that his journey to Adsense will be certainly finished. I think, how a blog post or content could be only between 100-200 words? In my judgment, it is not possible to completely describe a topic within 100-200 words. And if copy paste content is enough, anybody can declare him as a blogger. Please keep in mind, Google AdSense doesn’t approve blogs with copy pasted copyright content. A well-optimized blog post should be 100% unique and above 500-600 words. So, always write blog post above this limit and it must be unique which clearly determinate the post topic.

Optimize Blog Post with Meta Tags and Make It Search Engine Friendly:

Optimize your unique blog post with Meta Title and Description Tag. The meta tags describe what the content is about to the crawler bots. It is not possible for AdSense editorial board to check every single website that has applied to get AdSsense approval. So, positively they will use their crawler bots. The botswill check for every footprint on your blog. That’s why you should make sure; you have specified these tags with appropriate information.

Please keep in mind that your Meta Title should be between 69 characters (including spaces), and Meta Description should be between 156 characters (including spaces). If you are using platform like WordPress or Blogger, here are two guides which will cover all basic SEO requirements:

Have Sufficient Contents or Posts:

You must lead sufficient contents or posts on every page and category. In total, you should have 15-30 blog posts on your whole blog. This is not an official declaration. But, I recommend everybody to at least have it. So, you should have at least 3-4 posts in every category, tag and page. Google Adsense told that we must have sufficient contents in every single web page. So, we should add contents in all pages and categories. There shouldn’t be any blank page without any content. And these posts have to pass the minimum length of 500-600 words as it is the best blog post length. The more you increase the length, the more you go towards to get Google Adsense approval.

Blog Domain Must Old At least 6 Months:

As I mentioned above, in certain countries like India and China, there is a requirement for 6 months for the domain to apply for AdSense. Here is official statement from AdSense team:

In some locations, including China and India, we require publishers to have owned their sites for 6 months. We’ve taken this step to ensure the quality of our advertising network and protect the interests of our advertisers and existing publishers.

Some blog domain could get approved having less old than six months. Even, I got my Adsense account with just two-month-old domain. Can you imagine? But, the average domain age for certain geo-location should be six months.

Apply Using Root Domain:

You should always apply using the root domain like yourdomain.com. Not blog.yourdomain.com.

Be Serious to Choose Content Images:

Google Adsense doesn’t approve blogs if they lead to copyrighted contents. Copyrighted means the things that have been copied from others directory without their permission. And we make fault every time when choosing an image. Some people just go to an image directory, take their suitable images and upload these on their blogs. Did they ever check if they have permission to use these? The really sad news is that, most of the webmasters who fail to get Adsense because of this copyrighted law. And this is really caused by copyrighted images. Here are guides which will help you to find images for free:

Lead a Nice design and Blog Structure:

Blog structure is the basic structure of your blog. So, make sure that you have a nice looking header, content area, sidebar, footer, etc. Always think if the visitors will like the structure. If people like it, Adsense would definitely like it. The first impression of any blog comes with blog design, and you can take advantage of any professional looking templates (free or paid), and use it on your blog.

Check if Your Blog is Not Blocked by Google:

Be sure that, your blog is not blocked by Google. Because Adsense will check your blog statistics on their search engine. Don’t know how to check it? Just search for “site:yourdomain.com” on Google. If you find out search results, your blog is not blocked. But, if you not, it is blocked.

Don’t Have Adsense Prohibited Content:

Adsense has directly told that, sites with adult contents, copyrighted contents, drug alcohol-related contents, hacking cracking contents, violent contents, weapons related contents and other illegal contents will not be approved.

Visitors Are Not a Factor for Approval Yet:

For getting Adsense approved, visitors are not a factor. Because you will get approved depending on your blog quality. It is sure that the Adsense moderator will never check for visitor count. So, don’t worry about visitors. But, for generating revenues, you must have enough visitors.

Of course! The entrepreneurial mindset causes kids to depend on themselves for their own success, which leads to well-rounded adults and future leaders. How to teach: The next time your children ask for money to buy their favorite toy, this is your opportunity to ask them to brainstorm ways to create the money through entrepreneurship. This will inspire creative thinking and it will cause the entrepreneurial juices to flow.

Children are taught in school to go with the flow and follow the rules. They are programmed to learn and memorize facts instead of becoming independent thinkers. Entrepreneurship forces children to think "outside of the box," create unique solutions, and lead others. It is important for your children to develop the characteristic of helping others. How to teach: When brainstorming business ideas with your children, ask them to choose a charity or special cause to support with a portion of the income that they generate. Trade off days.

As a mom, and owner of three businesses, I know several moms who fall into the category of not having a business but still having a life to run. All moms, and dads too, need breaks. Find another parent, who has kids that are similar ages to your children and offer ‘trade off’ days. Figure out a schedule over the summer where you can do 3-4 days where you have all of the kids and the other parent, or parents, get a break and vice versa. These can be your most productive days where you can plan client meetings, or even just get to that exercise class you have been wanting to try.

Take inventory of yourself, As you read this closing blog, and find out How many of the "ghost" are standing in your way.

Before you can put any portion of this philosophy into successful use, your mind be prepared to receive it. The preparation is not difficult. It being with study, analysis, and understanding of three enemies which you shall have to clear out.
These are INDECISION, DOUBT and FEAR.
The sixth sense will never function while these three negative or any of them remain in your mind.
INDECISION is the seedling of FEAR! Remember this,as you read, indecision crystalizes into DOUBT ,the two blend and become FEAR! The "blending" process often is slow. This is one reason why these three enemies are so dangerous. They germinate and grow without their presence of being observed.

The six basic FEARS

1. THE FEAR OF POVERTY
It is, without doubt, the most destructive of the six basic FEARS. It has been placed at the head of the list, because it is most difficult to master. Considerable courage it is moat difficult to master. Considerable courage is required to state the truth about the origin of FEAR. The fear of poverty grew out of man's inherited tendency to PREY UPON HIS FELLOW MAN ECONOMICALLY.

It is a well known fact that a thief will criticise the man from whom he steals that politicans seek office, not by displaying their own virtues and qualifications, but by attempting to besmirch their opponents.Example of Bald headed man, are bald for no other reason than their fear of criticism. Heads become bald because of the tight fitting bands of hats which cut off the circulation from the roots of the hair. Man wear hats, not because they actually need them, but mainly because "everyone is doing it". If I talk about women claims to be superior of man with reference to this ,ask her to walk down the street wearing a hat of the vintage of 1890s.
The fear of criticism robs man of his initiative, destroys his power of imagination ,limits his individuality, takes away his self reliance and does him damage in a 100 other ways.

Doctors send patient into new climate for their health, because a change of "mental attitude" is necessary. The seed of fear of ill health lives in every human mind. WORRY, fear,discouragement, disappointment in love and business affairs, cause this swed to germinate and grow. The recent business depression kept the doctor on the run, because every form of negative thinking may cause ill health.

Jealousy, and other similar forms of dementia praecox grow out of man's inherited fear of the loss of love of someone. This fear os the most painful of all the six basic FEARS. It probably plays more havoc with the body and mind then any of the other basic fear , as it often leads to permanent insanity.

Women are more susceptible to this fear than man. This fact is easily explained women have learned, from experience, that man are polygamous by nature, that are not to be trusted in the hands of rivals.

5. THE FEAR OF OLD AGE

This fear grows out of two sourse. First, the thought that old age may bring with it. Poverty. Secondly, and by the far the most common source of origin ,from false and cruel teachings of the past which have been too well mixed with "fire and brimston" and other bogies cunningly designed to ensalve man through fear.

Eroticism also enters into the cause of the fear of old age, as no man cherishes the thought of diminishing sex attraction.

. The habit of killing of initiative, imagination, and to exercise these qualities

. The habit of the man or woman of forty dressing with the aim of trying to apper much younger and affecting mannerisms of youth

. The truth is that man's most useful years, mentally and spiritually are those between forty and sixty

6. FEAR OF DEATH

ENTERNITY is a long time. FEAR is a terrible thing the thought of enternal punishment, with fire, not only cause man to fear death, it often cause him to lase his reason.

Life is energy ,if it is anything. If neither energy nor matter can be destroyed, of course life cannot be destroyed. Life like other forms of energy,may be passed through various process of transition or change but it cannot be destroyed. Death is mere transition.

Mastering the Art of Getting What You Want

There is a level of awareness available to you that you are probably unfamiliar with. It extends upwards and transcends the ordinary level of consciousness that you’re most accustomed to.

At this higher plane of existence, which you can access at will, the fulfillment of wishes is not only probable — it’s guaranteed.

At this level, your wishes — all of them

can indeed be fulfilled. By using your imagination and practicing the art of assuming the feeling of your wishes being fulfilled, and steadfastly refusing to allow any evidence of the outer world to distract you from your intentions, you will discover that you, by virtue of your spiritual awareness, possess the ability to become the person you were destined to be.

What follows is simply a preparation for entering into that realm wherein you have much more say over what comes into your life than you might have envisioned. Read and apply these 13 habits into your own life, and you will soon be well on your way to creating your own destiny.

Habit 1: Believe You Are an Infinite Spiritual Being Having a Temporary Human Experience

The first step to learning to manifest your reality is you must create a new concept of yourself: as an infinite spiritual being having a temporary human experience.

The I that I use to describe myself is not so obsessed that he insists in staying in one body. In fact, that I that is me finally recognizes that ancient spiritual truth spoken by Divine masters since antiquity: None of us are really doing anything, rather we (our bodies) are merely being done.*

This I that you use to describe yourself isn’t the physical form that you occupy and take with you everywhere. The I is your higher self, changeless and real.

Habit 2: Become the Observer of Your Thoughts

You become what you think about. If you think about giving, as God does, the Universe will provide. If you think about things being taken away, then that’s what you’ll attract.

If you want to manifest your dreams, you must become a master at monitoring the thoughts and feelings you are aligning yourself with. Your thoughts and feelings become your reality, so become adept at observing the thoughts and feelings you are creating for yourself.

Habit 3: Release Your Imagination from Current Limiting Circumstances

Do not let your imagination be restricted to the current conditions of your life, or what I call “being obsessed with what is.” Keep reminding yourself that everything that you’ve believed has gotten you to precisely the point where you are now.

This is a rather persistent theme in my work, so it bears repeating here: if you want to elevate your life and become a manifester, then you have to change what you’ve believed to be true about yourself that has landed you where you are.
