Its time to switch the workouts up a bit and lets try something new, hopefully if this relates to you then you will try it also&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For the longest time I would hit the gym and weight train 3 to 4 days a week and on my off days it was just boring old cardio. Well, I am tired of this routine so decided to attack a routine that could potentially allow me to lose weight because of my goals I set for my &lt;a href="http://justwant.bodybyvi.com/" target="_blank"&gt;Body By Challenge&lt;/a&gt; while also gaining lean muscle, all at the same time, in one workout! This is going to be great! Click Read More below&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;CIRCUIT TRAINING&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Circuit by definition is a journey all the way around with a common ending&lt;/strong&gt;. Translate that into our workouts and we will be moving around body parts to complete our circuit. I am sticking with 3 to 4 exercises per circuit and will attempt to perform 3 rotations. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Circuit training is great because it really gets your heart rate pumping, helping burn fat and calories and it adds the physical stress of weight training to tear down muscle fibers for rebuilding. Now, leave your ego at the door because you will have to use less weight than normal for the simple fact that you will be exhausted and continuous movement, so don't focus on the pounds....&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color: #38761d;"&gt;focus on the reps&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;! Slow, controlled and correct lets shoot for at least 15 to 20 on our first rotation, maybe 12 to 15 on the second and lets hope we can get at least 10 to 12 by the time we are finished. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do exercises &lt;strong&gt;back to back&lt;/strong&gt; without rest until the end of the circuit, then rest a minute or 2 minutes and start again! This beats the heck out of 30 minutes on a treadmill and should burn more calories as well. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As an example, here is a circuit I have performed. Switch it up to your likings, you can plug in different exercises as needed and still have a great workout.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chest / Shoulders&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Incline Dumbell Bench Press&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Dumbell Seated Shoulder Press&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chest Flys&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Side Laterals&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I would then maybe set up a circuit for Biceps and Triceps and perform that circuit in the same manner. Within 20 to 30 minutes you have a great workout, and a great cardio session all at the same time. And don’t just consider the scale victories, either. When someone compliments you on the weight you’ve lost, accept the thanks proudly; don’t just shrug it off like it’s no big deal. I&amp;nbsp;am sure others feel the same stress as I do making sure you do your very best to make it a successful and fun holiday. In doing this, and the hustle and bustle and stress that accompanies the holidays, we still must be mindful of sticking to our goals and making sure we do not derail our weight loss plan&amp;nbsp;that we have worked so hard to get thus far.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hear this all the time, "it only comes once a year!" That is correct but for those of us dedicated to&lt;a href="http://healthylifestyle-rfg.blogspot.com/p/visalus-opportunity.html" target="_blank"&gt; losing weight and getting fit&lt;/a&gt;, we cant use this an excuse. Relatives, cocktail parties, the parade of chocolates and cookies seem to continue longer and into the New Year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The trouble comes in our indulgence for a long period of time to these treats. If, however you are currently on the &lt;a href="http://squidoo.com/robertandjaimiegrissom" target="_blank"&gt;Visalus challenge&lt;/a&gt;, you will be ahead of the pack if you can stick to it as close as possible without sacrificing or being miserable. The season is for everyone to enjoy and just because your wanting to drop a few pounds doesn't mean you cant enjoy the holidays. For this reason I offer these tips and advice&amp;nbsp;to make sure everyone enjoys a happy and healthy holiday season.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #45818e; font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;BE A LITTLE MORE REALISTIC&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lots of people will say that losing weight during the holidays is impossible but I beg to differ. To those with this mindset, I personally challenge you to join the Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge. Eat your treats in moderation and have your meal replacement shakes for other meals and you will still drop pounds. This way you satisfy your holiday cravings. Skip things that you could possibly eat any other time of the year. I also like the idea of using a napkin instead of a plate for your hors d'oeuvres. Get out and stay active. If you live up north or in a location prone to snow, this shouldn't be hard. Snowboarding. skiing, ice skating or other winter sports is a great way to stay active. Hey, volunteer to shovel some snow if needed, this is a workout by itself. I unfortunately live in North Carolina where snow is a surprise so for people like myself, I say its the perfect time to hit the gym. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #45818e; font-size: large;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;MODERATION - DRINKS HAVE CALORIES&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;a href="http://mommiecooks.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/0300eggnog1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"&gt;&lt;img border="0" height="133" oda="true" src="http://mommiecooks.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/0300eggnog1.jpg" width="200" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;So don't drink your calories. You worked hard to select better food, don't mess that up by downing all the drinks at your parties. Wine, beer, eggnog and the list goes on can pack unwanted calories. If you do like to have drinks then try to mix in a glass of water between your drinks. The only exception to this is of course if your drinking your Visalus &lt;a href="http://healthylifestyle-rfg.blogspot.com/p/visalus-opportunity.html" target="_blank"&gt;meal replacement shakes&lt;/a&gt; for weight loss. Even if it looks like a mound of food, its very likely you will still be consuming less with that one plate than if you went back for seconds!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color: #45818e; font-size: large;"&gt;ENJOY THE SEASON&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fact is, we are already under a little more stress this time of year so lets not add to it by beating yourself up if you cant make a healthy choice all of the time. Yet another reason to join my weight loss challenge. Its simple and easy to do and makes it easier for you to enjoy the holidays because you know you are getting proper nutrition and your metabolism is firing. Make sure you enjoy and relax during the holidays. Your body is going to be sore, you are going to sweat&amp;nbsp; and your going to put in work but if you want the weight loss results this has to become a daily part of life. So what can you do to make sure your workouts are exploding everyday? Glad you asked, I will tell you&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;No.1: Get Social-ized&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Getting&amp;nbsp; buddy or a workout partner is a great way to be held accountable and attend each weight loss workout session. Having a partner helps because not only are you in it for yourself but you are also there to support and motivate the other. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Working out with a friend is one of the best ways to stay involved. During your workouts, having someone there working with you toward the your goal will help push you when the going gets tough. Having a workout buddy could be the difference in lifting that one last rep that other wise wouldn't have gotten done or taking on that 10% incline on the treadmill for your brisk walk. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, here's my two cents worth. Make sure your workout partner actually challenges you! You don't have to necessarily have the same goals but you have need someone that can keep up with you! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;No.2: Find Your Beat&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Studies have linked workout intensity and music tempo. Think about it, music sets the moods in movies so it can do the same in your quest to lose love handles. Upbeat beats tend to equal a higher workout intensity so make sure you load your digital audio device with these songs. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In my opinion, music keeps me in an upbeat mood and helps take my mind off the workout. I don't sit there and think about what I ma doing, I just know it has to be done and I kick it into action. So jam out to get through those workouts and meet your goals.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;No.3: Small Goals For Each Workout&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We are all in it for the long term, but learn to set short term goals for each workout. This can be anything based on your last workout. If your weight training, this can be beating your 1 rep max or getting one more rep on the bench press than last week. This will help you stay focused and give you another reason to hit the gym besides the Body By Vi total transformation. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Completing these smaller goals will help build self confidence and the belief that you can actually conquer your goals.
