With the economy like it is everyone should be thinking about multiple streams of income. Perhaps you already have that's why you have been reading this blog. No job is secure these days. It's best to have your camel tied. I'm not against going to college, but I don't think going to college facilitates your success in life, because you can be trained to do any job. In fact, you have to undergo training the majority of time before you start a job, even if you have been to college. Often times, many people don't even end up working in the field that they went to college for.

It's best to have more than one way to make money. The internet is a great way to do this. There are many things that you can do to make money online. Many times people fail because they assume that you don't have to do anything to make money online. That is so far from the truth. I don't know where that idea came from, because even when you work a job you have to do something that's why it's called work.

It's essential these days to have multiple streams of income. Whether you are selling something for a company, freelance work, blogging, etc. It is absolutely a must these days. You can ask yourself what you like to do or what you are good at. That will put you in the direction of what you can look into doing. I know sometimes people don't even give things a chance. They just write it off without even checking it out. If it can help you make some extra money at least look into it. Don't be so narrow minded. How will you know it won't work if you haven't looked at it or tried it? Probably because the majority of people only think that a job is the only way you can make money. It's not if you don't already know. I'm not telling you to quit your job if you have one, but I'm saying be looking to other ways to make income as well. You may even get to the point that you can quit your job.

If you already are doing other things to make money. That's great! Keep on doing it and don't stop. Even if it's not going the way you want. The tide will eventually turn, because it always does. If it's fear of what people are going to say. Don't tell them, because it's none of their business anyway. If it's laziness get off the couch and start looking. If it's procrastination just do it!

Self-improvement or personal growth is something that will be part of our lives forever. This is something that everyone needs. If we make the effort, we can and will improve ourselves. It's easy to stay the way that we have always been, however negative it may be, but it takes a lot of courage to make the changes that we know that we need to make. No one can decide to do this for us. We have to do this for ourselves.

One of my favorite books that really helped me is," The Magic Of Thinking Big" by David Schwartz. It really helped me overcome a lot of obstacles that I felt were keeping me down. I was very shy. A lot of the techniques that he advised were very helpful. It's still one of my all-time favorite self-development books. It helped me to be able to overcome by scaredness of dealing with people (not being able to ask questions or being able to state my opinion). Anyone knows that if you are trying to promote any kind of business you have to be able to tell people about it. One of the techniques he advised was just ask the question. What can the person do to you? That really helped me. It really made me feel that I can and will achieve my goals.

It is not easy to feel positive all the time. One day you might be feeling great and the next day you might be feeling not so great. It is like a flower. You have to keep watering it so it will grow. It really helps to apply what you are learning. You can take one thing at a time. No matter how small you may think it is. For instance, it could be something that you want to stop doing like not drinking pop. First write that goal down and proceed to stop doing it. You will be surprised at the results, because once we put our mind to it nothing can stand in our way. It's really that simple.

Once you start your journey to self-improvement their will be many people that will try to get in your way. Why? Because they do not want to see you improve. If you change who will they have to listen to all of their problems or to keep involved in a bunch of foolishness. That's why making these changes is so important.

If we master ourselves we can master anything. Whether it is business, health related or just simply being better human beings. It's really worth it to put the time in developing yourself. Is it easy? It might not be in the beginning, but it get's easier as you go along. If you make up your mind to do it. It can be done. There are so many places a person can visit online. You can get lost if you are not careful. You want to make sure that if you have a website or a blog online that it will get seen. Your blog or your website can be your main home, but you should also have a home away from home. Your home away from could be a squidoo lens or your social networks or instantblogsubscribers. These are all places where people can find you. Because we as internet marketer's want people to find us online. It's the only way people can find you and get to know you. Than, if you are lucky they will purchase from you if you are selling something. I'm not saying you have to have 50 blogs or 50 squidoo lenses. I wouldn't even recommend that if you are just getting started online. Because if you have too much going on you will lose focus. I'm just saying that it's nice to have another place to be found. I think your chances of being found online is way better if you have more than one place online to be found at.

With squidoo, instantblogsubscribers and even article directories you can type the url of your blog or website url on your site. Giving people an opportunity to check it out if they like what they have been reading so far. It's a great way to get traffic. I like the fact that people can find my site from different places. Search engine is the best traffic but I prefer to put my eggs in more than one basket. I know some people don't have a website or a blog, but I think that you should have one or the other or both because people need a place where they know that they will find you, and your blog or website is that place.

I, myself have found people through their squidoo lens or article directories. So, I know that it really does work. Especially, if you haven't really yet established your presence online yet. It also helps if you participate in the communities. The majority of communities allow a place for your blog or website url. Even if you are writing about different topics. You should still have your main blog or website address on your other sites. If people like you they maybe interested in your other topics too. Don't assume that they won't be. Give them a chance. You might be surprised. Even if they aren't it won't affect you. Especially, if they like at least one of your topics.  Having more than one home online also gives you ability to advertise different affiliate programs pertaining to each of your sites topics. That way your main blog or website won't be cluttered you can spread it out a little bit, and you can make some extra money too. You might find other lenses and blogs that you may also enjoy reading too. It's nice to be able to check out other people's blogs or lenses.

They really make your website stand out, and they come in all shapes, sizes and colors. However, if you have too many on your website it can slow your website down, also it can make it cluttered. It is easy to get addicted to adding them to your site, because I have had to talk myself out of putting up a couple more. It's nothing wrong with adding them but just make sure that they are aiding your site and not crippling it. Here are a few tips on how to pick the right ones for your site:

  • Make sure the widget has something to do with your site or it's topic. If it doesn't than you may want to reconsider adding it.
  • Make sure it is the right size too. You wouldn't want it to be too big or too small for your website. Test out the different sizes to make sure you are choosing the right size.
  • Make sure you choose the right color for your website. If your website is green you want to reconsider the color purple for your widget.
  • Make sure the widget is an asset for your website and not a hindrance. What are the benefits of having this widget on your website?
  • Decide where you will be adding the widget. Will it be on your sidebar or on a particular page on your website?
  • Decide what kind of widget will it be. Will it be one that moves or stands still or is a popup? This is just to make sure you don't have too much going on your website.
  • Do you really need another widget? Or you just adding it too feed your addiction of widgets?

I read lots of blogs and I am a member of a lot of social media sites. I am baffled when I see that people don't allow people to contact them. I follow this one particular blogger on twitter and I was going to send him a message because I liked a particular post, and I couldn't send him a message. I was shocked. I think it is very important that people be able to contact you. "What if they want to ask a question" or just "Want to tell you that they liked a particular blog post". I've also seen that some people have that you have to ask your question publicly. Instead of it being sent to the reader. Everyone can read it. I didn't like that option either.

It is very unprofessional when people can't contact you. It looks shady too. The people who usually have no way for you to contact them are people who are involved in scams. Who wants to be associated with those kind of people? I know you are probably saying to yourself, " I'm protecting myself from the spammers". You might be protecting yourself from the spammers, but in doing so you are missing out on comments, friends, customers, and even constructional criticism. That's a big price to pay for keeping the spammers away. It's ways you can keep the spammers away without not letting people contact you. If someone spams you give them a warning and if they keep doing it. Than you can always block them. The majority of the social media and email has spam control.


Let people contact you on your websites, blogs, and all of your social media accounts, because if you make it hard for people to contact you, you also make it hard for people to connect with you and do business with you. If people have to jump hurtles to contact and connect with you they won't. If you are that popular maybe they will, but chances are they won't. 

So, before you finish reading this blog post. Go to your blog and add a contact me form if you don't already have one, and go to all of your social media accounts and make sure that people can send you a message.
