How to Manifest Anything You Want

Manifesting with Religion, Joy and God-in-Action- Part 1

I was recently at a church called The Abundant Life Church in New Brunswick. I was very moved by the spirit of freedom, joy, and love that permeated the experience. I particularly enjoyed the impromptu dancing at this church, as well as the youth performances and I pictured God smiling down on these creative efforts, feeling a ‘joy’ of his own.

At this church the preacher, who they call The Bishop, preached a powerful sermon, and at one point he put forth the idea of being 'tested' by God. Now I have to admit that the concept of God testing us has always disagreed with me. I am a student of human behavior, and as such testing to me seems to be a very human emotion. In human life testing appears to spring from our need to have our fears alleviated (as in ‘Does this person really love me?’) or our egos stroked (as in ‘prove that you love me’ so I can feel better.) From this perspective testing has occurred to me as disconnected from any divine source, and not at all God-like. So I have often questioned that the divine would have such a need-driven ego, as to test people.

This same feeling of disconnect was filtering in and out of the experience that day when people were paying homage, being humbled, or even praising God. This awkwardness is not new to me. It is a common feeling that I have in any church. Not that the divine is not worthy of praise, and not that voices raised in song are anything but wonderful to be involved in. But there often seems to be a premise hanging in the church-going air that God is needy of praise. There seems to be an idea that Jesus or God can't do without us telling him how great he is, myriad times and myriad ways. And furthermore that we had better praise him...or else. Now if my gut tells me anything, it tells me that the divine does not need or require our praise. Furthermore, he does not love us any less if we don't give it. And we don't even need to praise him. We don't need to do anything. God, Jesus, and the Spirit of the universe love us unconditionally, and they are whole and complete without our doing or saying anything.

So if this is the case, why sing and praise? Now I love to sing and stomp my feet and feel the sound carry me away. And I am clear that this is a good thing, a positive thing- even holy thing. So as I considered this seeming dichotomy, I also thought about the law of attraction. Then I got an aha! There was a moment, and then an insight. Then, like the Grinch who stole Christmas, my heart grew a few inches as I thought the following thought . Perhaps we sing and praise because an attitude of joy, an attitude of gratitude, and an attitude of being blessed feels great. Perhaps it feels great because this is inherently God-like. (This idea fit beautifully with the Law of Attraction, by the way.) Because if you are in that joy-space, you will attract more good to your life. You will give more of the good to others. So that God is, and God embodies the 'Law of attraction.' Which is why Jesus has said that you will reap what you sow. If you sow joy, you reap joy. If you sow love, you reap love. If you sow frustration and anger, you reap frustration and anger. So that when we sing and praise we are not so much giving to God, but rather we are being God. We are being the God within us. And furthermore, all of that joy and love floating around is simply God in action, in you.

Now there are plenty of times in our human lives when we are not being this. But in this church, in the singing, in the joy, in the dancing in the aisles- there was a lot of God present. So while being in that space I was clear, here was God in Action. It was good. It was perfect. And it could only bring us all more joy, more love, more abundance. And being in that space, we were also living the Law of attraction.

Day 44- Manifesting a "Lean, Mean, Money Makin' Machine"

It is day 44 and I weigh exactly the same as I did when I began. I did, however, go from $3.12 to $10 in my savings account, and I have signed my daughter up for gymnastics and been able to pay for that! I also was able to pay the upfront costs for a side business that I love called Sendoutcards. I have been talking to my coach on vacation in Hawaii, who lives off the business and travels frequently- so I have great expectations for the money side of things.

Here is what I have noticed:
1) I do not, as promised, look at the picture of myself thin every morning and night. I forget or decide I am too tired or it wont make a difference. All very non-power of attraction thoughts.

2) I am somewhat 'iffy' on noticing negative thoughts and shifting them. I do tend to notice negative weight thoughts and shift them. However a lot of my life is lived in 'the frantic zone'- trying to rush here and there, exhausted and worried about all the plates that I can't keep in the air. So the very backdrop or environment for my life is the exact opposite of living in the now, in the flow of the universe and enjoying each moment of life. If this is the context for my life, it is probably natural that I will not manifest what I want.

3) I am also not noticing and appreciating the good things I see that I want- as I promised I would. Since I am running and taking little time to breathe, how could I possibly be noticing
and appreciating life.

So, all in all, my weight and money is going exactly as I might expect that it to go.

My remedy

1) I have signed up for a meet-up group about the law of attraction. I will go to that group and see what I can learn from others- as well as how I can build a like-minded community to help me in my goals.

2) I will get the literature or tapes that are studied by the group and begin to study them.

3) I will take moments in my life to breathe and appreciate where I am, what I have, and all that is around me- including what I intend to have and how I intend to look.

4) I recommit to my original promise to a) look at my pictures and meditate on them daily- putting myself into the feel of being thin and having money b) look in the world for things that appeal to me, including the kind of body I intend to have. Appreciate them all. c) Look at myself in the mirror and appreciate me, exactly how I am now. d) Take time to enjoy my food and mealtimes.

Day 1 Creating a "Lean, Mean, Money Makin' Machine"- Day 1

I have begun an experiment in manifesting a lean body and a largess of money in my life. I wrote about at my hub(excerpt below) and I will be writing in a diary type format- updating you on my progress.

So as I begin my regime of manifesting I am looking to shift and change the very thoughts in my head. In doing this I am beginning to notice how many times I have a negative thought about my body. At a bear minimum, this is every time I glance in a mirror. So if you have experienced the power of manifesting you will understand me when I say, how could I possibly become thin inside of such a negative mindset?

But I am working to shift and change those thoughts, so stay tuned.

I have been thinking a lot recently about manifesting- and our power as humans to create anything. And I have considered 'putting my money where my mouth is' and trying out my theories in full view of the world. In essence creating a public experiment in manifesting where I take on two target areas of concern for me- my weight and my financial life.

GOD, God, and Manifesting

I was baptized a Christian at the age of 11. At the time I was very ardent. Then life threw me some curve balls and I fell away. Then life threw me even worse curve balls and I came back.But I came back not to organized religion, but rather to my spirit and the concept of a God/GOD. And I have recently been thinking a lot about GOD (in the highest sense) and God (in the sense of the God within) as well as religion, spirituality, and my place as a baptized Christian. Somehow I think it all works together, and also relates somehow to the concept of 'manifesting anything you want.'

So let us take a better look at Jesus, since he was our role model as Christians. Jesus said that we, like him, are sons of GOD, and children of GOD. With this in mind, consider that Jesus was not teaching people that HE was special, and made in the image of and likeness God (which he was, of course)... but rather that we ALL are special, and made in the likeness of GOD. Consider that Jesus was saying that there is God in each of us. Now if that is true it follows that if Jesus can perform miracles, walk on water, feed the masses, etc, so can we all.

How to Manifest Anything You Want- The Science of Being

These days there is a lot of talk about how to manifest anything you want. Many people from various walks of life are saying that we ourselves have the power to create anything we want in our lives. There are even some physicists that claim that we, like some sort of mini-gods, have the power to create at our fingertips.

Now hold on, all you devout religion-ists, and don’t get nervous. No-one is saying here that we are God, with that capital G. Just that we have some god-like characteristics. And one of them is the power to create. Now this is not a foreign concept to Christianity. If you remember your bible, it says that we are created “in the image and likeness of God.”

In point of fact, the exact meaning of this quote has somewhat eluded mankind for two thousand years. But now with this new thought we may get a glimmer of understanding.

Perhaps we are like God, in that we have the power to create our world and the worlds around us. Now no-one knows exactly how far we can take this power- but we are clearly learning that we have some power. For instance, think of The Law of Attraction, Eckart Tolle, Oprah and her myriad guests on the subject, and so on. And what many of these entities are saying is that ‘how to manifest anything you want’ is largely about ‘being’ the type of person who has good things show up.

So for today we will put aside our biblical argument. We will take it as a logical premise that how we go around in life, our mood, our outlook, our background commitments, hidden agendas, and our way of being have something to do with how the world shows up for us. We will assume that these things color what happens to us.

Well where did we get all of these ways of being, then? How did we get to be the person that we are, doing the things we do, seeing life as we do? How did we get to be this way, as opposed to some other way that we could be?

Well some folks in this day and age are saying that we ourselves have created the person that we are. And even more interesting, that we can recreate ourselves, any way we want to be. And when we do so we will then attract what it is we want- be it physical, spiritual, relational, or whatever. And this concept, my friends, is known as The Science of Being.

I will tell you more about the intriguing Science of Being and how to manifest anything you want in future articles. I am sure you will 'be' amazed at what is possible.
