I recently posted about how the Texas Lottery had a digital coupon for the Cash Five game.

The coupon was for buy five Cash Five tickets and get one free. The way you would redeem this coupon was by the Texas Lottery app. The app had an update and when this happened, the app did not work. I tried to reload it and still did not work. I noticed a news report the other day that stated that the app was down and that the Texas Lottery Commission was working on a fix. During this time, I was unable to use the coupon. So for about one week I lost the opportunity to use that coupon. I don' know if it will be extended since the app was down.

As of June 15, 2023, the app is up and running. I did have to do an update to the app. I was able to use the coupon today and got six tickets for the price of five.

I generally have a set of numbers that and I use as well as some quick picks. I also use this coupon to get the six quick picks so it gives me more of a chance to win. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck. I have noticed that the set of numbers I use come out frequently, i.e. a few days in a row, then for a week or so, my numbers aren't even close. So I like the opportunity to have a better chance of winning especially if you can get a discount on your tickets.

Another thing, I noticed that the Powerball was the number four. The next day, the Mega Millions game is played. And I had a hunched that the Mega ball would be four, but I did not play it. And, yes, the number four came out for the Mega ball. I would have hit at least the Mega ball and would have won something, but instead, I did not get anything. So, keep track of the numbers that come out and look how often they come out. This will give you an idea of what numbers you can use and give you an advantage.

You never know, there is always a chance to win only if you play. And as I said before, it is a game of luck, but if you can find an advantage, you have a better chance to win. Only spend what you can afford.

Here is a new post for those who enjoy playing the Texas lottery.

For the month of June the Texas Lottery has a digital coupon you can use to get a free ticket. On the Texas Lottery app, there is a digital coupon that allows you to buy five Cash 5 tickets and get one Cash 5 ticket free. Just use your phone and click digital coupon, then hit redeem coupon and hand your phone to the store clerk where they will scan the QR code and it will print out your tickets. Of course these tickets will have to be quick picks. This promotion will expire on June 30, 2023.

I have been trying a new strategy when it comes to playing the lottery. I had stopped playing for about 6 weeks. When I started playing again, I did some research. I went to the Texas Lottery website and looked up the previous wining numbers for the Powerball, Mega Millions and Lotto Texas games. I looked to see what numbers came put most often within the past several weeks. I wrote down the numbers that seemed to come up most often during that time period. I made a list for each of the lottery games mentioned above and also looked into the bonus balls for the Powerball and Mega Millions games. Once I found out the numbers that came out most often, including the bonus ball, I created a ticket with those as well as one quick pick. I have had some luck with it, although, my winnings were not much, but have noticed more frequent winnings. I should probably check the last several weeks of winnig numbers and compare to the ones I use and may need to update those numbers.

Although, it all comes down to luck, I think this strategy will give you better odds of winning something.

A win is something to offset the cost of buying tickets.

It has been awhile since I have posted anytging her, so I thought I would give an update.
When playing scratch offs, try to find the newest games, these will give you a better chances of winning bigger jackpots since there will be more available.
Also, there are games that have second chance drawings. Make sure if you play them, and you don’t win, enter the second chance drawings. Since I am in Texas, I use the Texas Lottery app. From there just create an account, sign in and you can scan in non winning tickets and enter into the drawings.

This app is great to scan in tickets to see if you have won. I always use it to scan my tickets. I have had instances when I thought I didn’t win and when I scanned my ticket, I won.

About a month ago, I hit the biggest win on a scratch off for me. I won $500 on Golden Ticket. This ticket as of this writing, is fairly new and people have been winning. So, keep an eye out on newer tickets for a better chance of winning. Good luck.

This is post is about the new scratchoff game Cowboys #1776.
This game just came out on August 1, 2016. I have played this game 4 times now and everytime that I have played I have won.
1st - won $5
2nd - won $20
3rd - won $5
4th - won $10.
I went to the lottery website to see how many prizes are left. I noticed that 1 player has hit the top prize of $100,000 and 9 winners of $5,000. This game just came out and people are hitting on this one.
This is one of those games that comes out once in a while that is paying out. Even if you don't win, you have a 2nd chance drawing to win prizes. Take my word for it, they do pick winners.
Earlier this year I was playing the Texas Rangers scratchoff game. I entered my non winning tickets on the lottery website for a 2nd chance drawing. When the winners were posted, I went online and looked at the winners list, and my name was on it. It took me about 8 weeks to get my prizes. Won a shirt, hat, clock, neon light, lunch cooler, blanket, tumbler and a framed picture of the Ranger's Stadium. All prizes were Texas Rangers items i.e., Rangers clock, hat, shirt, etc.

This game is worth a try. Don't forget to enter your non winning tickes for your chance for 2nd chance drawings.

Here lately, I have been lucky and winning on some scratch offs. I have been winning with Triple 7s ($5 ticket). I usually play the $2, $3 and $5 tickets. I rarely play $10 tickets. In the last week and a half, I have played the $10 Ticket Cash Craze and have won all three times. A few days ago I won $20. Yesterday I won $100. And today I won another $20.
Several days ago, I won $50 and $20 on the $5 ticket Triple 7.
These are new tickets that are paying out.

An update on what is hot right now. Been play the following $5 scratch offs with good success:
Money Multipier - Won $50 today on this ticket.
Golden Ticket - Won $10 today, $50 a week ago
$100,000 Extreme Green - $20 winner a week ago

Like I have done before, I tend to play the odds posted on the back of the ticket and have had luck with these tickets.
Money Multiplier - odds - 1:4.09. What I have been doing is this. I play the multiple, i.e. 4 goes into 4, 8, 12, 16, etc. Well, instead of playing those numbers, I play 1 number up. Doesn't work all the time, but have had luck with that. Today, I won on #22 so the rule for this one seems to be 2 up.
Golden Ticket - odds - 1:3.70. This ticket I have used the rule of going 1 number up of the multiple and it has paid off. I have hit on #25 (1 up from 24) today for $10. When I won $50, I believe it was on 13 - 1 up from 12 (multiple of 3).
Extreme Green - odds - 1:3.62 Same rules apply for this ticket.
Now the reason I have had some luck with this rule, is the fact that I have been going to the same store. I experimented on purchasing the tickets and found out when to pick the winner. It has worked for me so maybe it can work for you.

Now the tickets that I have had no luck are the following:
Golden 7's
Cash & Gold
I have tried using that same rule for these tickets and it did not work.
I guess, I just found out the ones that work for me.

I haven't posted in a while since I gave up playing the lottery during lent. But now that lent is over, I decided to play again. Some new scratch off tickets have been on the market and I have been playing them with some luck.

A few days into playing again, I played the $5.00 ticket - Golden Ticket and I won $50.00
I have also been playing the $5.00 ticket - $100,000 Extreme Green. I have won $20 on that one just the other day. I won another $15 today on the Golden Ticket too. These two games have been paying out, so I suggest you play these before all of the major prizes are gone.

Yesterday, I went to a convenient store to buy my lunch which they had on special. I have bought tickets there before with no luck at all. When I pulled up to the store, I noticed they had a sign that said "We sold a winning ticket". I asked the clerk what did they sell and she replied $250. I thought, $250 that isn't much for a sign, but then she showed me a picture of the ticket she sold (from her phone). It was a $10 ticket Holiday Magic (which is no longer selling) and the person that won match his number 35 to the number on the ticket for a prize of $250,000. A customer in the store told me she knew the person that won and said he had bought it just a few days before Christmas. What a Christmas they must have had. I noticed that the number on the bottom was number 30, so now, I have been asking if any $10 tickets have the number 30.

The clerk at the store said that someone had just bought that ticket before and they won $10 on it. The clerk's niece was asked to scratch off the big winner but she declined saying that someone just bought a ticket and won $10 and she did not think if would win. Who knew.

Well, keep playing and keep an eye out for the new games. Remember, you have a better chance of winning with newer games.

As of this posting, the Powerball is up to an estimated: $450 million. Seems like more and more people are playing and wanting some kind of strategy to win.

Here is my input on that: There are 35 bonus balls in the Powerball lottery. One thing you can do, if you want to spend the money doing it, is select the numbers 1-35 (or 35 tickets). Each ticket play each powerball number, that way, you are guaranteed to win something. Now since it costs $2 that would be $70 invested for a guaranteed chance to win something. If you decide to use the Powerplay, you would be spending $3.00 per ticket x 35 = $105 which can multiply your non winning jackpot by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times. Is it worth it? If you have the money to spend, maybe. Without the powerplay you would be guaranteed to win a minimum of $1. With the powerplay you are guaranteed to win a minimum of $2. Now that is the lowest guaranteed winnings you would get. It is a gamble to spend $70 just to win a guaranteed $1 or spend $105 to win a guaranteed $2, but that is the minimum. If the multiplier is higher, you could win more, plus if you hit the bonus plus other numbers, you can win more as well. It is all a gamble. At $450 million I may take that gamble just once, but only if I have the extra cash to do it. Don't go boring money or put yourself in a bind by using your money you have for other things such as groceries, bills, etc. to make this gamble, that would not be worth it. But if you have the extra cash to do it, live a little. Again, it is a gamble and mostly likely, you will lose, but that is the nature of the game.

Back on 11/4/14, I had played the Mega Millions when the jackpot was 321 Million. I had mention that because the Mega Millions has 15 bonus balls, that I would play all 15, i.e. 1-15 and have them megaplied. So, I spent $30. I was guaranteed to hit the bonus ball and win something, which I did. I hit the bonus ball of 1 + 1 number and I won $8.00. Ok, so I am in the hole $22, but I gambled and did not recover what I put in. This is the only time I have done this. I may do it again in the future if the jackpot is large like this one. It is worth a try, you never know.

Just a small note. I have been playing the scratch off ticket - $100,000 Merry Money #1653. I noticed that the odds of winning are 1 in 3.33. Here lately, I have been winning on number 12 ticket. I have hit $20, $10 and $5 the last few days on multiples of 3, i.e., 9, 12, 15, etc. Mainly it has been on 12.

Just a note and try it if you get any mutliples of 3 on this ticket. Can't guarantee you will win, but just going by my experience. Never hurts to try.

So I haven't posted in a while, just because I have been busy at work. Thought I would like to start by saying, thank you to those of you out there who take the time to read my posts.

Here lately, within the last month or so, I have been buying the $10.00 ticket $200,000,000 Game No. 1644. I have had some luck with that game. I have won $30.00 twice. Hit $30.00 today in fact. Have hit $10 a couple of times as well. I don't buy it much, because of it being $10.00. I usually play the $1, $2, and $5 scratchoffs. I like the $3.00 scratch off games, but don't like the ones out currently.

So, here lately, I have been in a financial funk. Things just not going my way. I was down to my last few dollars.
Had a $10 bill and bought something to eat, got $5.00 in change back and, just my luck, lost the $5.00.

So this morning, my wife gave me $5.00 for my lunch. I had in my truck a $10.00 winning scratch off that I was holding just in case I need some money. So, I bought my lunch at a convenient store and bought 2 $2.00 and 1 $1.00 tickets, but did not win anything. I had used up my $10.00 winning on that and lunch. I still had the $5.00 that my wife gave me this morning, plus a few $1.00 bills. I went to a 7-11 and bought a drink and a $5.00 (20X The Cash) ticket and a $2.00 (Sizzlin' Cash) ticket. Won $10 on the 20x ticket and did not win on the other one. Looking at the number in the bottom right hand corner of the ticket (sizzlin' cash) it said 56. I looked at the odds of the ticket and it say 1 in 4.44 so I thought, 4 goes into 56 evenly, and I did not win, so let me try the next number - 57, and I did. I cashed in my $10 winning and bought the sizzlin' cash ticket - number 57. I went back to my truck to scratch it off and I won $50.00 on that $2.00 ticket. I went back inside to cash it. I got my money but I bought a $5.00 ticket (Golden Key). This ticket is the one I had cashed in at lunch and I remember it being on 61. I bought the ticket at number 60 and did not win. I am thinking, I should go back for 61, but I did not. I went home.

Sometimes, luck is just involved.

I have had luck on the games Golden Key and now Sizzlin' Cash. I haven't had much luck on Solid Gold which are the new tickets. Looking at it, there are many winners out there, but it has been out longer than the Golden Key. Golden Key just came out and people seem to be winning on that one. Sometimes, some games that come out do not produce winners. I notice this trend. But sometimes you can get lucky.

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. I haven't posted anything in a while, because, I had given up playing the lottery during this Lent Season. Now that it is over, I will start playing again.
One thing that helps, not playing the lottery, is that I did not spend alot of money and thus helped me save for other things. I hope to keep to a strict budge playing the lottery. I will start playing mainly the Texas Two Step as it is one of my favorite games to play. I will also play the Texas Lotto with the extra. The Power Ball is getting up there, so I may keep an eye on that one too.

I may play some scratch off tickets. I haven't kept up with it these last 6 weeks or so, so I will have to look at what new games are out there and which ones are winding down.

Here is my update. Yesterday, 3-25-2014, I purchased one of the new $5.00 scratch off tickets named: Cash Multiplier. This game just came out on 2-10-2014 with top prize of $100,000 So far, there are still a lot of winning tickets out there. I played it yesterday and won $250.00. To-date, this is the biggest scratch off winning ticket I have had - previous was $200.00

Below is a copy of my winning ticket

As you can see in the first row, my number is 42 which I must match. At the top of the numbers is a 1x, 2x and 3x respectively. My number 42 matched under the 2x and prize is $50.00 which means I doubled it and got $100.00
Second row my number is 40 which fell under the 2x with a prize of $5.00 so I won $10.00
My next winning number (on the 6th row) is 32. 32 came under the 1x with a prize of $20.00
Next winning number is on the (on the 9th row) is 43. 43 came under the 1x for $100.00
Next winning number is on the last row (10th row) 16. 16 came under the 1x for $20.00
So I got $100+$10+$20+$100+$20 for a grand total of $250.00

By the way, the ticket number was 62. So today 3-26-2014 I cashed in my winnings. I did go to a 7-11 and bought my Texas Lotto with the extra for tonite and also bought another one of this same game - Cash Multiplier.
The number on that ticket was 10. I played it and won $15.00 on it. So I am now 2 for 2 on this game.
The odds of winning on this ticket are: 1:3.49. So what I tried to figure out is this; my $250 winning ticket came on number 62. 3.49 (odds of winning ticket - which I rounded down to 3 would have been 60 or 63. So my winning ticket was closer to 63. Now, on this other ticket, my winner was on 10. I believed a winner would have been on 9 or 12 not 10. But I bought it anyway. So now, I am starting to think that the winners will be 1 number or 2 higher than the 3 multiplier, example: 9 (divided equally by 3) winner 1 up from 9, 10. 60 (divided equally by 3) winner 2 up at number 62.

So for this game only, try to find a ticket where the number is a number or two above a number that is equally divided by three as show in my examples above. This is my own opinion by trying to play the odds. It may work for you or may not, but luck is also involved.

February 15, 2014 - Powerball $330 Million

So tonites drawing in the Powerball is up to $330 million.
What I am doing for this drawing is this. I looked up the most frequent numbers and used those numbers for 1 ticket and bought another ticket with all quick picks. Go to your lottery webpage, pull up the Powerball and look up number frequency. It will show you how many times each number has come out. I used the top 5 numbers and chose the top number for the bonus ball. Of course, I play with the power play. Then, I got another ticket with all quick picks. We will see how it goes.

How this gives you an idea for the drawing tonite and future drawings.

Was on the internet doing some research and I came across this guy (who a friend of mine had seen on 60 minutes) who states that he has won the lottery 7 times. Of course he won't disclose his secrets because he is selling a book at about $34.00 a book. But he did give some of his secrets. Of course, these are his opinions and I agree with some but not all, even though he has won 7 times and I haven't.

First, set a budget. Do not use money for groceries, bills, etc. to fulfill your need to play the lottery.
Second, he states when playing Mega Millions or any other lottery game, not to use quick picks - instead use the same set of numbers every time you play. He states that by using those numbers, each drawing gives you a better chance of winning. I somewhat agree on this, but I have seen people hit with quick picks a lot, so this theory is iffy. So, what I would do is play some quick picks and a set of the same numbers, that way you are covered.
One thing the reporter on 60 minutes said is that he plays alot and spends a lot of money, but he has made it his business. That is, he keeps track of what he spends, so that way at tax time, he can offset his winnings with the amount of money he has spent (loses), so he won't have to pay as much taxes.

On the scratch off games, his theory is to play 1 scratch off and buy many tickets of the same one. Example: if you play Break The Bank Limited Edition - the odds of winning on this game is 1:4.26. So if you have a budget of $10.00, he would buy 5 tickets in a row. Chances are you will win something because of the odds, but usually it is a $2.00 ticket or $4.00 ticket at most. So you would be spending $10.00 just to win $2.00 or $4.00. That does not work for me.

My theory is to look at the number on the ticket. Find out how many winners are still out there and look at the odds. I usually buy just 1 of that ticket and buy other tickets if the numbers are close to the odds - number 4, 8, 12, 16, etc.

I have bought 3 different scratch off tickets at the same time and actually won on all three, so I would get my money back and then some. I have done this several times. It doesn't work all the time, but to me, I feel I can increase my chance of winning more than just buying 4 or 5 of the same ticket in a row. But then again, this guy has won several times (and to me is seems just like luck).

I just try to offer my experience on my methods of winning. I think what I may do is the next time I win a good amount, I may just invest my money in this guy's book just to see if his methods do work.

My brother-n-law's brother once told me of another book that he swears by. He says he knows people that have bought the book and won. They don't win the big amounts, but do win some good amounts. I will have to look into that book as well and when I do get it, I will see if their theories work too.

Here is my latest post on how to win money on the lottery. I hope the previous posts have helped you make some money.

My post refers to tickets played in Texas - scratch offs. Mega Millsions and Powerball are played throughout other states so my techniques would apply to those too.

Recently, I have noticed some things in the scratch off games. There have been times when a scratch off ticket launches and right away, people start winning - the top prizes. When I go online to check how many winners are left and the top prizes are mostly gone. That tells me that the lottery commission has posted a lot of winning tickets out there and that is a good time to buy them, especially if they are new games.

There are other times when I see games that have been out awhile and the top prizes are still available. That tells me that there aren't very many winners out there.

Case in point. I liked playing the $2 ticket I (heart) Cash. I have won some money on that ticket. It came out 12/2/2013. In about 1 month half of the top prizes have been claimed.

Break The Bank Limited Edition came out on 12/16/2013 and there is still plenty of winning tickets out there.

Weekly Grand $2.00 ticket came out on 9/9/2013 and only 1 of the 4 top prizes has been claimed. This game is 3 months older than I (heart) Cash and still there are plenty of winning tickets out there. This tells me that this game is harder to win the top prizes but they may still be out there.

One other thing I just found out today from a store clerk. This guy told me that whenever there is a white line between the tickets (where the tickets are perforated), either that ticket or the ticket after the perforation most of the time is a winner. I put that theory to the test. He told me, this one is a winner. It had a white line. So I bought it and did win. Then, I tried again on another ticket and again, I won. I won either $5.00 or $10.00. The tickets I bought were $2.00 and a $5.00 ticket. He also told me that this theory of the white line won't hit big time, usually get your money back or $10.00. I guess he knows, he sells the ticket.

So I have been posting some blogs about the lottery and how to better your chances of winning.
Today, I want to share some of the amounts that I have won.

Back in 1997, I had played the Cash Five game. Back then, it payed a lot more than it does today. But, I was able to hit 4 our of 5 numbers for a winning of $539.00

In 2008, I played the Mega Millions and hit 4 out of 6 numbers (no bonus) and won $600.00. For that one I had to go to the Lottery Commissiion office locally to retrieve my winnings. They had asked me to take my picture and write a short story about what I had done once I found out that I won. They gave me a shirt and a tote bag. I also received some tax forms that I had to submit that year for income tax purposes. What I did find out is that anything $599 and under, you can cash at any retailer (preferrably at a grocery store) and you will get cash. Any thing $600.00 up to $1,000,000.00 can be cashed at your local Lottery Commision office and you can get your money their in a form of a check. If you win anything under $5,000.00 they will give you the full amount but you still have to report that on your income taxes. Anything above $5,000.00, they will deduct the taxes on your winnings and you would still have to report that on your income tax.

Last year, 2013 I played the Powerball and hit twice. I had played 2 sets of numbers and on one of the tickets I had hit (I believe) 1 number and the powerball for $12.00 and on the other I had hit 4 numbers for $200.00. I cashed that in at an Albertsons store - $212.00 cash.

I have also hit on scratch offs. I have hit $200.00 twice on $2.00 Break the Bank. Several years ago, I was playing $5.00 scratch offs (don't remember the name of the game) but for about 3-4 weekends in a row, I would win at least $100.00. I would hit $50, then $100 and even won $200. I kept playing the same tickets and buy them at the same store and I kept winning. It was great, until that streak ended and so did the game.

I have won many other smaller amounts $1.00, $2.00, $3.00, $4.00, $5.00, $6.00, $10.00, $12.00, $20.00, and even $50.00. Most recently, as of this writing, I hit $100.00 at a 7-11 store on the Jokers Wild Game. The ticket number was on 40 so I decided to buy it and won.

So for those of you who like to read my blogs, this is just a little something to let you know that, yes, you can win. Maybe not the big one, but yes you can win. I am not rich by no means. I just enjoy playing the lottery, but it can be addictive and you have to know when to walk away with your winnings. Or if you continue to lose (like most of us), learn how to walk away and play some other time.

Keep playing and have fun doing it, just don't blow your whole paycheck doing it.
