The forgotten trimester

Hello everyone I'm so happy to be back on this blog site there have been so many changes in my life and I can't wait to share them with you for starters I've gotten married I have a new career and I've had another baby and it's a girl and we're very excited but this block today is talking about pregnancy I've been pregnant for three times and yes each pregnancy is different

So let's talk about pregnancy you have three trimesters that you read about the doctors tell you about and you hear about from your friends the first trimester is the Nooch the new trimester your noshes you bloated even constipated but you don't say much because you don't know if you will remain pregnant due to complications or you might miss carry anything so you don't really say anything your first trimester now going onto the second trimester now you know that your pregnancy is here him the risk of miscarrying are reduce significantly so now we start making announcements were telling people I'm we're finally getting somewhat of a baby bump and we're feeling good and that noshes this is the cute trimester because the bump is cute you're not sick you can have fun you can still work out a little bit I like that stuff third trimester the trimester full of anxiety is this it is this time you're having your fake contractions which a cop Braxton Hicks your huge you're tired and now you're just ready to have the baby and you're playing the waiting game the most frustrating part in my opinion so you finally learn how to get ready for labor pushing any complications that could go wrong you have to be really prepared by then you've had your baby shower you get the baby clothes your backpack all that good stuff and you push and you have your baby golden prize

So now your pregnancy is over you had your baby your baby is in your arms psych no it's not over because we never think about the forgotten trimester which is the fourth trimester I call it the snapback trimester it not just wait emotional physically hormonally snapback is not the easiest to get your life back together when you have a new life here depending on you demanding your attention and needing you for things it's hard to focus on yourself I will say yes every pregnancy is different but fourth trimester is pretty much The same struggle for women because is getting back to the life that you had the best way you can't and it can be frustrating

And if you have multiple kids is even harder to get your life back in order because now you have more than one personality to get used to to learn and once you get one settled if you have one child you can go work out you can go clean but when you have more than one child you have to go focus on the other job because the baby has taken a lot of your attention so you want to make sure you have Tapia other kids to and before you know it is 10 o'clock at night you haven't worked out you have really cleaned up you haven't done anything that you needed to do for yourself as an individual. Also if you're breast-feeding that's a whole Nother world to live in in addition to the world you live in with your family breast-feeding is very demanding you have to watch your diet it does help with weight loss and is very healthy for your baby and is very pocket friendly because you don't have to buy formula but it's a lifestyle change after you've had the baby that you have to live by which has some restrictions as if you were still pregnant I found myself still feeling like I was pregnant because of the diet the restricted restricted drinking I'm different foods that I couldn't eat and obsessing over my breastmilk

Positive thinking!!!

Last year was a wild and rocky year! Honestly I'm still licking my wounds from last year because it was rough!! But I can't dwell on the past and it's time to move forward. Operation bounce back is in full effect! I'm very excited about my new business ventures and I've been planning very carefully so it won't come off bootleg. I've maintained a positive attitude and kept my faith STRONG believing that I will be successful.

So first I'll be Building my clientele. It's unfortunate that hair stylist that don't work in a shop, gets no respect! I consider myself a very passionate stylist (well I'm passionate about everything) and a perfectionist! I research everything about hair even the stuff I already know because there might be a better way to do it. I heard so many stories about how a hairstylist half ass did their hair, chopped off the hair instead of trimming, or the prices being ridiculous for bad service. Yet ladies still go back and I just don't understand.

I finally did it!! I bought some virgin remy hair MALAYSIAN THAT IS! I'm really nervous because it's the first time I've ordered hair online. I can wait to do a review on it and if I like it I will continue to order from them. I plan to start providing hair and selling hair as well. That's right I said it "I will be providing hair for my customers"! And not just virgin remy hair! I will have remy hair and the cheap hair. I will accommodate all the price ranges. Whew!!!! How was your Christmas? The decorating, the dinner planning, traffic, the people, and the searching for toys was CRAZY right?! My Christmas was awesome! We were able to get everything we wanted to get the boys and I was able to get Chris his gifts. Christmas eve We made cookies,a letter for Santa, and cupcakes for my cupcake tree. Chris and I decided to make our first Christmas dinner for our families, but only our parents showed up lol. But we we still had fun even though our boys were sick. Even though Xavier had a cold, he PERFORMED the heck out of his part in the Christmas play (ad libs and all) and had the congregation in tears! Christmas was a great day!! I am truly blessed for my family and friends!!! Now for new years I'll probably be at the house safe and sound. But you all be safe out there and Happy New Year!!

Good weave or bad weave! (product review)

People are always asking me what hair to use when the do their sew in! ask no more this blog is for you!

I wear a lot of sew ins it's considered one of my best protective hairstyles EVER! Being natural is a wonderful thing but at times the hairstyles tend to a get bit juvenile. One day I looked up and my son and I had the same hairstyle lol! My son is 4 people! HEY don't judge me in the two piece bikini i was pregnant(8months) with Christian! A lot of people assume that women wear weave for confidence. But it's ok to not want to wear your fro out until you reach your hair goal. For one if you're not comfortable with your hair you tend to mess in it A LOT which makes your REAL hair break off or putting too much heat or products on the hair which causes problem too!

I wear sew in to protect my hair and to keep me from messing in it all the time (I get bored easily). So I can do all the curling, tugging, and putting products on my hair.

With my sew in, I have used all kinds of brands! As of late, I have been trying to stick with the high quality remy hair. I normally use goddess (natural yaki) and the regular yaki for length! But due to a buy one get one free sale I tried the velvet remy natural yaki. It was more expensive than goddess so I figured it has to be awesome! WELL NOT SO MUCH! The deal breaker for me is SHEDDING! I can't stand when my weave sheds its ridiculous. This hair by velvet shed so much that my tracks are thinning out and making it hard to reuse it! The hair is beautiful it looks like natural hair (pressed), curls pretty, and doesn't get tangled. But it sheds so I guess the weft is bootleg?!

Judging from my experience I wouldn't use this hair unless you can seal the hair on the tracks a little bit better (maybe super glue and let it dry first?! Especially if you're doing sew in, not glue) I kept my hair in a bonnet and tried to Comb it gently. I also wash it with conditioner (co wash) and the weave likes it along with my natural hair under it!

I will always recommend Goddess over velvet remi hair any day! Because of the lack of shedding! neither are the highest quality of hair but if you cant get virgin Indian hair then i will choose goddess remi hair!

HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO MY LOVE!!

WOW I can't believe it's been a year since my honey and I made it official! This past year has been CRAAAZY for us. But we pulled through. It's so funny how we met and hit it off! I promise you we were not suppose to be together well at least that's what we thought GOD obviously had a different plan for us! It's so funny now that I think back on it, we were only gonna hang out as friends (and maybe a lil hanky panky) no big deal right? WRONG! Our first evening together was not romantic at all I came over bummy (in workout clothes) not even trying to seduce him or anything. Ladies you know how we do if we are meeting a new guy, and we get extra cute for them? Yeah that wasn't this kind of date lol! Any who after our very simple meal that he cooked we laughed, roasted each other, and then it was time to go! He was a gentleman the whole night he walked me to my car and we shared the most romantic earth shattering kiss! The moon was big, full, and bright! After that kiss I drove home confused and with eyes full of fireworks and we have been going strong since!
We compliment one another well! I even drove to myrtle beach twice and flew a few times just to see him. i guess i was stepping out on faith! we both found ourselves doing and saying things we have never said nor done. for example "pet names" like "babe" "baby" and etc. I just found this too good to be true and was ready to run because we were not in a committed relationship.
But this was a man that wanted me as woman! so shortly after thanksgiving we finally made it official. 3 months after making it official we found out we were having a baby! In most cases the couple would panic but not us because it felt so right that we were together! That kiss we shared was so awesome that it connected us in ways we couldn't imagine! There was soooo much passion! I've never felt 100% connected with some like him. I'm saying connected like we are on the same page wanting the same thing! I love this man so much and so does my friends and family! He has given me everything and then some!
This weekend for our anniversary we did the spa for massages, ate frozen yogurt, he cook dinner and we watched a movie and more! This was by far the best "real anniversary" I've ever celebrated! For those who know me, know that I haven't been this serious about things like this with guys! Bouncing back from being new parents we have gotten "us" back! And he also got me an ipad2 totally surprised me because I told him not to get because we've had so many issues like my car! He has been my rock and always tries to make it better! But If anyone have any questions about my happiness, I am very HAPPY with the good and bad and I'm with the man of my dreams my future husband CHRIS CRUMBLEY! My perfect man GOD has sent me and i thank him everyday! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Oh yeah follow him he's hilarious (gotta love a sense of humor) @ccrumbley2 I LOVE YOU BABY!
He even told me about some errors so I had to come back and fix it lololol! He wants me to be great!

REALLY Protecting Your Hair!

Hey guys please forgive my absence. I've been trying out a lot of recipes at home, cleaning, tending to the kids, spending time with the family and haven't had the time to blog. Once I pick up my son for school I have to start him on homework and start prepping for dinner and since these recipes are new just in case I screw up I have enough time to fix it before my BF gets home. But this is the life of a "stay at home" mom.

Ok enough about that! It's getting cold out and in my opinion this is a good time to really put your hair in a good protective style especially the ones you put ALL your hair up! For example wigs, full head sew in, bonnets and now I'm really digging the invisible part.

Full head sew in with bangs

Normally when you do a full head sew in (no hair left out) you have to commit to bangs being in your face or hair swooped in the face because there is no part. But the invisible part changes this all together. Applying the invisible part allows you to protect your hair and make you sew in a little more natural. I have taught myself to do this convient style (thanx YouTube lol ) and its fairly easy. it's all about track placement. Making sure they're neat and invisible DUUH!! I have seen some parts that were too wide, poorly done, or the wrong color.

The "invisible part" gives the illusion that the weave is actually coming from the scalp GOODBYE LACEFRONTS! You don't have to worry about blending hair, matching hair texture with the weave you purchased, and NO HEAT DAMAGE to your natural hair. You can apply the track by glue or sewing. With the glue, you'll find it to be much easier to apply (for more detailed instructions check my "how to" page) but it seems the sew in version would last longer. This style allows you to do more to your hair without hiding behind a bang which is awesome. These two pics are the very first 2 "invisible parts" i have ever done so far so good. I don't know why she's smiling in the pic on the right lol!

Any who since so many people are transitioning to natural and it's winter time and it's time to braid/twist all that hair up in some kind of protective style I totally recommend this style but be sure to treat your hair while its in the "protective style" as well!

Trying To Get That Sexy Back

I am so sick of my loose stomach!! I've been wanting to get rid of it and tone it up for since I had my baby. Christian turned 5 months on the 12th and I feel there is no excuse! Breastfeeding has helped a lot but I've notice in gaining some of my stomach back. NO IM NOT PREGNANT! I was doing my p90x but things got hectic PLUS I stopped breastfeeding. Between being tired, not eating enough, cooking to have food ready on time, cleaning so BF won't come home to a dirty house, nor working out enough. There's just not enough time in the day!!! WE GOTTA MAKE TIME!! Bikini time will be here before you know it and i don't want to be the one looking like i can't bounce back from having babies!!! BECAUSE I have bounced back!

It's so hard to have all this "confidence" knowing you look like this after the you pull off the spanks,waist cinchers, and control top panties.

The sex life exist but it's hard to do the extra things with the extra weight. like the cute outfits, lingerie, and the matching bra and sexy panties. LOL I must have tried on all my old sexy lingerie before the baby and my bf never EVER EVER Saw them. He never even knew i had tried them on (trying to be sexy that night) IT WAS A JOKE! I hate not being in shape so i must fix it.

Honestly i was almost in tears when my clothes were not fitting right. It really hurt my heart and ego lol. I don't think our men really understand what these changes do to us ESPECIALLY when they are just staring at celebrity hotties and not to mention the regular randoms on these social networks. Don't you feel like ( in the back of your mind) "Lawd i gotta compete with EVERYBODY" or "how am i different from the rest what makes me so special when he flirts more with them than me". I wild be lying if i said i never felt that way because 1. I'm hormonal 2. I'm tired and lame ( No fun) 3. I'm fat 4. our lives revolve around the kids.

But you have to find time. we do date night, late night movies/DVR, or earlier morning talks (which are awesome). Also, sense of humor, compliments (we like the personality ones too but the compliments about our physique matters too. I want my man to feel like " my woman has he personality, sense of humor and she Fine As Hell!), role playing, and most of all keeping the flirting between you two will also bring the sexy back

Well i'm starting over now and will stick to my guns and lose these 10 to 15 pounds. WHO'S WITH ME?!?!? Operation get my sexy back is in effect. This is not just for new moms but for women that have recently gain weight and just need to lose some weight. How can we love others if we can love ourselves first. so we must build ourselves up and know our worth. Lets get fit, healthy, and happy! BLESSINGS

TAME MY EDGES (product review)

Having natural hair is a job within its self! I use to be so scared of going natural because my edges would look so nappy. I mean it's ok to have a big kinky fro but NOT MY EDGES! When i decided to go natural 4 years ago, i was still relaxing my edges and a small section in the top(for sew in purposes only)! But i got tired of my hair being 2 different textures and the significant amount of breakage it caused. Now these areas are trying to play catch up with the rest of my fro! So I would braid my edges up with weave when I did my styles so I could treat them. I've tried so many things to tame my edges since I've let the relaxed go but failed until now!!

The Olive oil version

I have two products for you to try! Natural hair or relaxed hair it can work for you! The first product is Argan oil or Olive oil ECO Style gel. This is good for our edges or a successful twist out(natural hairstyle)vans it's less than $5! I know some women with natural hair don't want to put gel in their hair because if the alcohol in it. But this gel has argan and olive oil in it so it won't be harsh on the hair. Before I found this gel I would protect my hair with coconut oil before applying gel to my hair but with the Eco style gel I don't have to BONUS!
The next item is hicks edges. It's $15.00 but well worth it! Its made especially for my people with nappy excuse me natural hair. It puts you in the mind of jam but way less greasy! As soon as you put this stuff on your edges, They immediately lay down without the brush! It looks like my edges are relaxed! I highly recommend this product for your edges ESPECIALLY if you have short and nappy edges!
And of course you should tie down your hair with a satin scarf to preserve the style and the way your edges are laying. So now you don't have to be scared these products make your edges look like you got that "good hair" lol I'm playing we all got "good hair" just got to know how to handle it!

Here I've laid my edges down with the hicks edges and did 2 two-strand twist and left the hair in the back out and curly. Although I have this sew in you can clearly do this with you curly fro as well.

The Mommy Struggle!!!

I just love being a mommy I really do but the role we play can be very overwhelming! We are the nurturers, providers, disciplinary, teachers, friends, co signers etc. I know I'm not the only parent that gets overwhelmed thinking about the dependence your kids has and will have on you for The rest of their lives! Mommy will always be there of course!!
My Boyfriend and i are trying to get my 4 year old son sleeping in his room all night. In the beginning, he was coming to our room at 4:30am EVERY MORNING! He said he was scared, he would be in tears, and trying to climb in our bed. I feel so guilty because before we moved in with my BF, my son slept with me ALWAYS!! I felt comfortable, safe, and at peace. I can honestly say me and the my little guy was attached at the hip. We did everything together and now that he had to sleep in his own bed in his OWN room it's killing me! Before you say anything, I already know that he has to become independent and self soothe. Babying him doesn't help but I can't help feeling guilty. I'm guilty because I think my son doesn't think I love him anymore because I won't stay in his room nor let him stay in our room. I battle with this every night Because I feel like I'm neglecting him especially when he says " mommy I just want to share my pillow with you" and my heart just breaks. How can you say no to that face!

Staying isn't the right thing to do but being right ain't always fair. Im always worried, I'm paranoid, and afraid that he's scared! Especially now that i have baby Christian which stays in the room with us(but in his own crib) i really think Xavier feelings are hurt when he can't stay. Now I explain that we love him and we are so proud of him for staying in his room. I also told him to think happy thoughts like we saw on the Sprout channel. It's gotten ALOT better now! 98% of the time he stays in his room He does a lot better with my boyfriend at bedtime because i think it's a man thing! My boyfriend and Xavier's dad just see it different because they're men and I'm far more emotional lol. But i play classical music so both boys can sleep sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. We are trying to get both boys to go to sleep on their own without us sleeping or rocking them and the music helps. They both went to sleep without me and if Xavier didn't sleep so wild, I would let sleep together..........sometimes lol

HAIR CHALLENGE!! Set the goal and LETS GO!

Hey ladies this challenge is for you! My friend Kim (kimfitness) is doing a sexy ab challenge which inspired me to to this hair challenge. We all know the winter time is the best time to get sexy and put our hair in protective styles until the summer!! First we have to establish a goal that you want for your hair whether length, fullness, or transitioning your hair. My goal is retaining length! I've been pretty successful so far. Protecting my ends, not trimming my hair(not cutting it), and keeping my hair oiled. I take my biotin vitamins as well and try to drink ALOT of water! Educate yourself on how you can obtain you hair goal for the next 12 weeks!

The hair plays a very important part in our lives! We are always trying to keep up with latest trend without thinking of the harmful things it could be doing to our hair. We continuously neglect our real hair by slapping chemicals, adding hair, and coloring our hair THE WRONG WAY! Going to the salons doesn't guarantee proper hair care either but that's gonna be another blog lol. I went natural almost 5years ago thinking "Well as long as I don't put a relaxer in then I'm good & it will grow" yeah right! Just like the rest of you I didn't take the time to educate myself on proper care for my hair. I colored my hair and it got damaged so i cut it(bad decision) but cutting is always the solution right?!? So now the very top of my head is shorter than the rest of my fro Forcing me to always wear my hair back while rocking my real hair. This year I started educating myself so I can retain length and leave the weave alone. Sew ins are my favorite hairstyle to have because you protect your hair and you have the freedom to use whatever hair you want to use. Although it's a great "protective style" i wasn't taking care of my hair underneath and that's a "No No". During my research/experiments I've learned that is all about moisture in the hair whether it's from water to a combination of oils. I protect my hair with coconut, jojoba, glycerin, or/and almond oil. I also put a little peppermint oil to stimulate my roots for hair growth. I don't shampoo my hair a lot because it strips the oils out of your hair. The solution is to protect your ends with oil first and put the shampoo on the roots or dilute the shampoo with water and oils so it won't be as harsh to your hair. I find co-washing very beneficial as well because it softens my fro. Co washing is washing your hair with a moisturizing conditioner instead of shampoo. I do this quite often. I shampoo my hair once a month. It's ok if you want to shampoo your hair more than that BUT be sure you dilute with a little water and add oil and a little conditioner. I've tried many things on my hair and now i think i got what works for me. You have to establish your hair goal whether it's length, thickness, or defining your curl pattern and just work towards achieving that goal. As a mom, I want to be with my boys at all times! I understand that they have to venture out and learn to do things by themselves. My four years old son is in Pre-K and now he always has stories to tell me. The sad part is with kids, you don't know if it's the truth, if he's copying another child's story that he overheard, or if he just flat out lying! I'm a very emotional mom so sometimes when he tells me "mommy kids make me angry!" I am ready to go mess "the kids" all the way up. I know I can't fight them but it's just sooooo hard to listen without getting upset. Just like his mommy, my son is so loving and really cares about family and friends! I know how "friends" can disappoint you especially if you really care. Mommy has to lead by example and remain calm so she can teach her son to do the right thing.. I never want to see him hurt or let down but I can't stop and that drives ME crazy! Yesterday my son tells my mom "the kids took my toys". So of course I wanted to say " Next time you bust that little snot nose f**ker in the face!" because I don't want him to be taken advantage of. He likes to play with his friends and I don't want him to allow being d-bo'd just to feel accepted! So I told him " don't allow anyone to take your toys. You let them know that you're not finished and font touch it until I'm done and if they snatch it, DON'T LET GO PULL BACK!" because no one wants their son to be a wimp right?! UGGGGH its hard because you don't want him to be a bully neither but he must defend himself. I take these bully issues very serious because it can be any one's child that will commit suicide or act out and you won't even know what hit you. And as a parent that would be hard!but I shall continue to guide my son from a parent's point of view and not my own personal point of view! I would love to here other mommy's, daddy's, auntie's and uncle's point if view as well so leave a comment!

A Friendly Introduction

Hey guys welcome to my first blog! I'm very excited about doing something new and completely out of character for me. I actually hate writing but I love interacting with people and seeing your comments and feedback will make me so happy. A few things about myself; I'm a free spirited, extremely goofy, ambitious, bighearted, helping, and family oriented woman. I'm a mother of 2 i have a 4 year old and a 3 month old son. I'm currently a "stay at home mom" which is very different for me because i'm a provider. With my first son i worked ALOT in the pharmacy, i did hair, i danced (professionally)and tending to my son of course. I'm so thankful for my boyfriend because he makes it possible for me to be there for my boys 24-7. Although my oldest is not his you wouldn't be able to tell because they are so close. Ok so enough about that in my post, i'll be talking about different things that i'm trying to achieve while i have so much time on my hands. From my personal natural hair journey, different products you can use for your hair, how to's on hair maintenance, workouts, kids, relationships, and just getting your sexy back after having a baby or just an overall self esteem boost.
