Troubleshoot Cable Modem and WiFi Issues

No Internet on Wireless Network

Besides the basics of rebooting your computer and making sure the wireless settings are correct and turned on.

1. Plug router into new outlet.

2. Make sure there aren't any electric interferences. Microwave, florescent lights, heavy equipment, faulty grounds or wiring.

3. Make sure antennae is clear and fully plugged in.

Replacing the Wireless Router

1. Make sure Internet / broadband provider doesn't need the new equipment to be registered.

(they may need to provision the new IP address that allows it to get the internet and past their "walled garden"

2. Some networks, like Comcast / Xfininty internet automatically provision new equipment but the modem must be turned off for about 10 minutes to erase the old MAC and old router data.

- TURN OFF MODEM FOR 10+ minutes and the connect the new wireless router. If you modem has voice (phone) service then a Power Cycle may work without waiting the 10 minutes. DON'T HOLD IN ANY BUTTONS on your router or modem unless you really want to erase all settings.

Automatically Add New Recipients to Contacts Missing in Yahoo Mail Classic

The setting in Yahoo Mail to "Automatically add new recipients to Contacts" is currently not available in Yahoo / AT&T Mail Classic.

The mandatory upgrade is coming in June 2013 so this should fix the situation but these are just my observations and I'm not sure.

This is screen shot of the Yahoo Mail Classic as of 5/2013. You will see that the check box to add contact automatically add email addresses is gone.

This a screenshot of Yahoo Small Business Mail that under the "Mail Options" and General Tab, the option to "Automatically Add New Recipients to Contacts" is there. All you have to do is check the box and save the settings.

Hi there!

You ever catch yourself copying and pasting fields from one web service to another? Or maybe uploading a file in multiple places?

Zapier can help you eliminate all those pesky tasks your web services don't support.

So how exactly does all this stuff work?

Zapier lets you create connections that will push data from one web service to another using triggers and actions. We call these connections of integrations "Zaps." Here's some definitions that might help:

Zap: Zaps are the connection between two services made up of a single trigger and a single action.
Trigger: The first part of a Zap. The trigger might be something like "A New Email in Gmail" or "A New Payment in PayPal."
Action: An action is the second part of a Zap. An action is what happens when a trigger occurs. An action might be something like "Create a Contact in Highrise" or "Send an email to the accounting department."
Task: A task is each automation Zapier does for you. So if you have a Zap that sends an email for each new PayPal sale, then each email that is sent is a task.
Syncing Interval: Zaps operate automatically based on a syncing interval. For the free and basic plans this is every 15 minutes. For the business plans this is every 5 minutes.
Premium/Standard Service: Some services are more powerful, have more functionality, and are more valuable to customers. These services are premium services. Premium services are available exclusively on basic plans and higher.
Live/Paused/Unfinished: A Zap can be live, paused or unfinished. Live Zaps are zaps that Zapier is actively monitoring for triggers. Paused Zaps are completed zaps, but are not currently being monitored. Unfinished Zaps are zaps that you start creating, but still need some data to finish. Zaps can easily be toggled from live to paused and vice-versa.
Filters: Any Zap can be filtered based on the fields provided via the triggers API. So for Gmail emails you might only want to trigger on emails from invoicing. You can use filters to trigger for only those emails.

You may have an older or newer version of Excel but the versions usually build on eachother so most features will be the same:

Here are some additional examples of formulas that you can enter in a worksheet.

=UPPER("hello") Converts the text "hello" to "HELLO" by using the UPPER worksheet function.

Apps for streaming music on iPhone

Suggested Apps for iPhone Streaming.
Access radio style streaming music on your iPhone or iPad Touch.

These can work on a computer too, however on a phone they call it an "App", so it will download and install a free player program for it to run.

If you travel and not on wifi network make sure you have a big enough data plan to avoid getting overage charges. Most data plans are limited and is separate from your minutes/talk time.

Around 5:49 PM in Pacific Coast time, the lights went out at the Super Bowl and New Orleans.

It's predicted that it will be about 15 minutes until the lights on the field I restored.

It is not a full emergency because lights are still on in the stadium just not on the field.

Power should be restored soon so fans are not panicking.
